  • Alternative to 'where col in (list)' for MySQL

    Hi I have the following table T: id 1 2 3 4 col a b a c I want to do a select that returns the id,col when group by(col) having count(col)1 One way of doing it is SELECT id,col FROM T WHERE col IN (SELECT col FROM T GROUP BY(col) HAVING COUNT(col)>1); The intern select (from the right) returns 'a' and main one (left) will return 1,a and 3,a The problem is that the where in statement seems to be extremely slow. In my real case, the results from the internal select has many 'col's, something about 70000 and it's taking hours. Right now it's much faster to do the internal select and the main select getting all ids and upcs and do the intersection locally. MySQL should be able to handle this kind of query efficiently. Can I substitute the where in for a join or something faster? Thanks

  • Block Hover Effect - Why doesn't it work correctly in FF3.6?

    Why doesn't following code work correctly in FireFox 3.6? I have tested in IE7, IE8, and Chrome with out any issues. Issue: The first block hover link (the table's 3rd row) doesn't apply the same style/effect as the following below it. Notes: I am trying to create my own table framework. This project is something I am doing to learn more about CSS. Before I started, I thought I knew a lot about CSS. However, to my surprise I was wrong. Who knew? Moving on... As side note, I do not want to take the time to support IE6. So, if you see a problem related IE6, please don't waste your time telling.   • Modifying a HTML page to fix several "bugs" add a function to next/previous on a option dropdown

    SOF, I've got a few problems plaguing me at the moment and am wondering if anyone could assist me with them. I'm trying to get Next Class | Previous Class to act as buttons so that when Next Class is clicked it will go to the next item in the dropdown list and for previous it would go to back one. There used to be a scroll bar that allowed me to scroll the main window left and right, it's missing because (I think it was to do with the scroll left and scroll right function) The footer at the bottom doesn't show correctly on mobile devices; for some reason it appears completely differently to as it does on a computer. The "bar" practically and the Scroll Left and Scroll buttons don't appear at all on mobile devices. The scroll left button is unable to be clicked for some reason, I'm unsure what I've done wrong. Refreshing the page resets the horizontal scroll position to far left (I'm pretty sure this relates to the scroll bar) I want to also find a way so that on mobile devices the the header will not show the placeholder image, however I can't work out what CSS media tag(s) I should be using. No I do not expect people to do my work for me & I'm sorry if it came over that way - just didn't know where to start. Would love some help please, I've limited VBA & function knowledge & I'm not sure where to start. If someone can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated. I have a list of email addresses on sheet "B" col A (but I could put them on sheet A if it would make it easier / faster) that I want deleted from sheet "A" col D (may be 2 or more occurences of the same email).     This is a problem one of our developers brought to me. He stumbled across an old stored procedure which used 'WHERE col = NULL' several times. When the stored procedure is executed it returns data. If the query inside the stored procedure is executed manually it will not return data unless the 'WHERE col = NULL' references are changed to 'WHERE col IS NULL'. Can anyone explain this behavior?

    I got my hands on bootstrap recently and I'm still discovering it. I made collapsable menu from a tutorial online but now that I want to had an image on each entry of my menu that I wasn't expecting. I want my image to be always aligned to the text in the menu but it still getting on top of it. I tried to remove row and col tag and forget about the responsiveness of my menu but it still doesn't work...     I'm trying to discover why two nearly identical class sets are behaving different from Hibernate 3's perspective. I'm fairly new to Hibernate in general and I'm hoping I'm missing something fairly obvious about the mappings or timing issues or something along those lines but I spent the whole day yesterday staring at the two sets and any differences that would lead to one being able to be persisted and the other not completely escaped me. It is identical except for name. Instead of Job it's Web. Instead of JobStateChange it's WebStateChange. Instead of JobState it's WebState. Both Job and Web's SortedSet of StateChanges are mapped as a Hibernate CollectionOfElements. Both are @Embeddable. Both are SortType.Natural. Both are backed by an Enumeration with some advancement rules in it. And yet when a nearly identical test is run for Web, no issue is discovered and the data flushes fine. For the sake of brevity I won't include all of the Web classes here, but I will include the test and if anyone wants to see the actual sources, I'll include them (just leave a comment). Everything works perfectly. Not so with Job. A possibly pertinent detail: the reconstitution code works fine if I cease to map JobStateChange.data as a TIMESTAMP and instead as a DATE, and ensure that all of the StateChanges always occur on different Dates. The problem is that this particular business entity can go through many state changes in a single day and so it needs to be sorted by time stamp rather than by date. If I don't do this then I can't sort the StateChanges correctly. That being said, WebStateChange.date is also mapped as a TIMESTAMP and so I again remain absolutely befuddled as to where this error is arising from. I tried to do a fairly thorough job of giving all of the technical details of the implementation but as this particular question is very implementation specific, if I missed anything just let me know in the comments and I'll include it.     Hi, I've got a Customer object with a Collection of CustomerContacts IEnumerable Contacts { get; set; } In some other code I'm using Reflection and have the PropertyInfo of Contacts property var contacts = propertyInfo.GetValue(customerObject, null); I know contacts has at least one object in it, but how do I get it out? I don't want to Cast it to IEnumerable because I want to keep my reflection method dynamic. I thought about calling FirstOrDefault() by reflection - but can't do that easily because its an extension method. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

    I have the following tables: user (userid int [pk], name varchar(50)) action (actionid int [pk], description nvarchar(50)) being referenced by another table that captures the relationship: <user1> <action>'s <user2>. I did this with the following table: userAction (userActionId int [pk], actionid int [fk: action.actionid], **userId1 int [fk ref's user.userid; on del/update cascade], userId2 int [fk ref's user.userid; on del/update cascade]**). However, when I try to save the userAction table i get an error because I have two cascading fk's against user.userid. Is there any way to remedy this or must I use a trigger?

    The error occurs when creating the Box object. public void drawBoard(Board board){ for(int row = 0; row < 8; row++){ for(int col = 0; col < 8; col++){ Box box = new Box(board.getSquare(col, row).getColour(), col, row); squarePanel[col][row].add(box); } } Board is given from the Game constructor here (another class): public Game() throws Throwable{ View graphics = new View(); board = new Board(); board.setDefault(); graphics.drawBoard(board); } The Board constructor looks like this: public Board(){ grid = new Square[COLUMNS][ROWS]; for(int row = 0; row < 8; row++){ for(int col = 0; col < 8; col++){ grid[col][row] = new Square(this); } } for(int row = 0; row < 8; row++){ for(int col = 0; col < 4; col++){ int odd = 2*col + 1; int even = 2*col; getSquare(odd, row).setColour(Color.BLACK); getSquare(even, row).setColour(Color.WHITE); } } } And finally the Box class: class Box extends JComponent{ Color boxColour; int col, row; public Box(Color boxColour, int col, int row){ this.boxColour = boxColour; this.col = col; this.row = row; repaint(); } public void paint(Graphics drawBox){ drawBox.setColor(boxColour); drawBox.drawRect(50*col, 50*row, 50, 50); drawBox.fillRect(50*col, 50*row, 50, 50); } } So while looping through the array, it uses the two integers as coordinates to create the Box. The coordinates are referenced and then repaint() is run. The box also gets the colour, using the two integers, from the Square in the Board class. Since the colour is already set, before the drawBoard(board) method is run, that shouldn't be a problem, right?
