• ubuntu 11.10 foreman error

  Like this post I am also trying to complete this heroku tutorial I have installed and used everything (node.js, npm, express) successfully until I got to Foreman. I installed Foreman by first installing Ruby: alex@ubuntu:~$ sudo apt-get install ruby1.9.1 then installing Foreman.   Rails foreman does not load all my services defined in Procfile. • rvmsudo foreman export upstart without asking for password

  My capistrano deploy.rb has a foreman export command for a rails app on Ubuntu 10.04 So, while deploying, I want to export the foreman to upstart script. But doing that, the command rvmsudo foreman export ... asks for root password and I cannot do anything. • What is the root of my application?

  Can someone help me understand what is the root of my application? I would like to use vim and create a one line procfile in the root of my application. Then I can test the procfile using a gem called foreman with the following command in my terminal: foreman start I have tried sudo vim /procfile and created the file and saved it in what I thought to be the root. Then I typed: foreman start and the response is that Procfile does not exist. Any help would be most appreciated.

  I manage servers with a puppet master and I use Foreman for visualisation. Because of specific regulation, the only access I have is the puppet agent for configuration and some informations can't be visualized by foreman and the master can't store this information. For example, the puppet agent need to get a secret variable (a password store in a file). How I can get it without know this variable? Also I need to keep reports because I want to know what happen on the server.

• Can't drag files from Explorer into Notepad++ running as administrator on Windows 8

  If I have Notepad++ running as administrator, I can't drag files from explorer on to it (they are rejected with the 'stop' cursor) and if I try to use the explorer extension right click 'Edit with Notepad++' it throws an error. Opening the files using the Notepad++ 'Open' dialog, or even double clicking them in Explorer works as it should. (Note double clicking is not a solution as very few of the files I want to open are default to Notepad++) I have UAC set to 'never notify'. Using the hack where UAC 'admin approval mode' is disabled fixes the issue, but kills the ability to use Metro apps.

  I have an upstart job: description "foreman" start on runlevel [2345] stop on runlevel [06] respawn respawn limit 3 60 chdir /home/deploy/app/current env RAILS_ENV=production exec sudo -u deploy bundle exec foreman start We ran into a case where a rogue character in an app file caused one of the background workers to fail but the app ran normally (weird). The app worked fine, but the workers were never working. I'd like upstart to do something (send an email) if it can't start this job, since it's not entirely obvious if everything went alright. Is there something built into upstart to handle this, or do I have to get creative?

• .Net LoginControls - User can't logout in Firefox

  Basically, the logout link doesn't do anything, but only in Firefox. (I can login and out freely from other browsers) There really isn't a whole lot of information I can really give other than that, since I'm still new to this project and .net as a whole, and know almost nothing about the login controls. So if someone else has experienced a similar issue in the past, and can recognize the issue with the little info I have, that would be great! If not, sorry for the lack of depth, but its all I have. • PHP hashing function not working properly

  So I read a quick PHP login system securing article, and was trying to sort of duplicate their hashing method, and during testing, am not getting the proper output. Here is my code: function decryptPassword($pw, $salt){ $hash = hash('sha256', $salt . hash('sha256', $pw)); return $hash; } function encryptPassword($pw){ $hash = hash('sha256', $pw); $salt = substr(md5(uniqid(rand(), true)), 0, 3); $hash = hash('sha265', $salt . $hash); return array( 'salt' => $salt, 'hash' => $hash ); } And here is my testing code: $pw = $_GET['pw']; $enc = encryptPassword($pw); $hash = $enc['hash']; $salt = $enc['salt']; echo 'Pass: ' . $pw . '<br />'; echo 'Hash: ' . $hash . '<br />'; echo 'Salt: ' . $salt . '<br />'; echo 'Decrypt: ' . decryptPassword($hash, $salt); Now, the output of this should be pretty obvious, but unfortunately, the $hash variable always comes out empty! I'm trying to figure out what the problem could be, and my only guess would be the second $hash assignment line in the encryptPassword(..) function. After a little testing, I've determined that the first assignment works smoothly, but the second does not. Any suggestions? Thanks SO!

  I have seen this but can't work out how to apply it (no pun intended) to my situation. I have a sorted list of maps like this: (note there can be more than two keys in the map) ({name1 3, name2 7}, {name1 35, name2 7}, {name1 0, name2 3}) What I am after is this data structure afterwards: ({:name1 [3,35,0]}, {:name2 [7,7,3]}) Ive been struggling with this for a while and cant seem to get anywhere near. Caveats: The data must stay sorted and I have N keywords not just two.

Each employee has some kind of profession, which is required to work on a particular position. Workers work in groups consisting of at most 15 members - so called production units, which specializes in a specified kind of work. Each production unit is managed by a foreman. Every worker in order to be able to perform job tasks needs proper accessories. There are two kind of tools - light and heavy. To use heavy tools, a worker must have proper privileges. A worker can have at most 3 light tools taken from the warehouse.

  I am trying to get AVIDemux set up with the X264 codec using this tutorial. • Rails development environment Resque.enqueue does not create jobs

  I am having the same problem like Rails custom environment Resque.enqueue does not create jobs , but the solution there doesn't work for me. I'm using Resque for a couple of asynchronous jobs. It works just fine for the staging environment, but for some reason it stopped working on development environment. For example, if I run the following: $ rails c development > Resque.enqueue(MyLovelyJob, 1) Nothing is enqueued. I check Resque using resque-web If I run it on staging - it works just fine. $ rails c staging > Resque.enqueue(MyLovelyJob, 1) I have tried to duplicate the 2 environment, and they seem to use absolutely the same configurations (database.yml , config/environment , etc.), but development is still not working. If I do > Resque.enqueue(UpdateInstancesData, 2) > => true > Resque.info > => { > :pending => 0, > :processed => 0, > :queues => 0, > :workers => 1, > :working => 0, > :failed => 0, > :servers => [ > [0] "redis://127.0.0.1:6379/0" > ], > :environment => "development" > } Any suggestions where to look in order to debug this? I am running the application via foreman. • error while running ruby application at system startup in ubuntu

  I am on Ubuntu 12.04 machine. Have a script file which runs when entered manually in terminal gnome-terminal -e /home/precise/Desktop/cartodb/script.sh The content of script file is cd /home/ubuntupc/Desktop/cartodb20/ sh /home/ubuntupc/.rvm/scripts/rvm bundle exec foreman start -p 3000 So what i tried to do is to run this script at every system start up. So on Startup Applications command: gnome-terminal -e /home/precise/Desktop/cartodb/script.sh On terminal Edit - Profile Preferences - Title and Command Checked the "Run command as a login shell" But this seems to be not working. When restarted the machine found these error in terminal The child process exited normally with status 127. ERROR: RVM Ruby not used, run `rvm use ruby` first.
