  • # id - urls with id first display full page, then move to #id

    - by guisasso
I've noticed this in the new version of chrome, and ie9 and 10. Some urls in a photo gallery have a #id tag as they are supposed to display a full view of a picture. Basically, a div in a lower position on the page has that #id that i call via a.com/1.html#id. This has never been an issue until lately, when i noticed a bit of a lag. The issue: The website loads normally, then the view moves to the #id as supposed, but with some lag sometimes, perhaps because of the high resolution of the picture, which is somewhat noticeable. Anyway to avoid this, or make it so the page would move to the correct #id even before fully loaded?

  • change USB vendor id / product id

    - by Hugh Allen
Under Windows, is there any easy way to change or forge the vendor and product id of a USB device? Say for example there's a useful program which expects a particular (but ubiquitous and generic) device but you think it will probably work with the device that you actually have. I've done lots of Googling and apparently you can do it under Linux so it occurs to me to run Windows in a VM under Linux, but that would be a bit inconvenient.

  • I have finally traded my Blackberry in for a Droid!

    - by Bob Porter
Over the years I have used a number of different types of phones. Windows Mobile, Blackberry, Nokia, and now Android. Until the Blackberry, which was my last phone (and I still have one issued from my office) I had never found a phone that “just worked” especially with email and messaging. The Blackberry did, and does, excel at those functions. My last personal phone was a Storm 1 which was Blackberry’s first touch screen phone. The Storm 2 was an improved version that fixed some screen press detection issues from the first model and it added Wifi. Over the last few years I have watched others acquire and fall in love with their ‘Droid’s including a number of iPhone users which surprised me. Our office has until recently only supported Blackberry phones, adding iPhones within the last year or so. When I spoke with our internal telecom folks they confirmed they were evaluating Android phones, but felt they still were not secure enough out of the box for corporate use and SOX compliance. That being said, as a personal phone, the Droid Rocks! I am impressed with its speed, the number of apps available, and the overall design. It is not as “flashy” as an iPhone but it does everything that I care about and more. The model I bought is the Motorola Droid 2 Global from Verizon. It is currently running Android 2.2 for it’s OS, 2.3 is just around the corner. It has 8 gigs of internal flash memory and can handle up to a 32 gig SDCard. (I currently have 2 8 gig cards, one for backups, and have ordered a 16 gig card!) Being a geek at heart, I “rooted” the phone which means gained superuser access to the OS on the phone. And opens a number of doors for further modifications down the road. Also being a geek meant I have already setup a development environment and built and deployed the obligatory “Hello Droid” application. I will be writing of my development experiences with this new platform here often, to start off I thought I would share my current application list to give you an idea what I am using. • Oracle pl\sql question for my homework in oracle 11G class [migrated]

    - by Bjolds
I am new to oracle 11G programming and i have run into a tough situation with pl\sql funtions and automation. I ame unsure how to create the function for the automation of Registration system for a College registration system. Here is what i want to do. I want to automate the registrations system so that it automaticly registers students. Then I want a procedure to automate the grading system. I have included the code that i am written to make most of this assignment work which it does but unsure how to incorporate Pl\SQL automated fuctions for the registrations system, and the grading system. • Stored Procedure for Multi-Table Insert Error: Cannot Insert the Value Null into Column

    - by SidC
Good Evening All, I've created the following stored procedure: CREATE PROCEDURE AddQuote -- Add the parameters for the stored procedure here AS BEGIN -- SET NOCOUNT ON added to prevent extra result sets from -- interfering with SELECT statements. SET NOCOUNT ON; Declare @CompanyName nvarchar(50), @Addr nvarchar(50), @City nvarchar(50), @State nvarchar(2), @Zip nvarchar(5), @NeedDate datetime, @PartNumber float, @Qty int -- Insert statements for procedure here Insert into dbo.Customers (CompanyName, Address, City, State, ZipCode) Values (@CompanyName, @Addr, @City, @State, @Zip) Insert into dbo.Orders (NeedbyDate) Values(@NeedDate) Insert into dbo.OrderDetail (fkPartNumber,Qty) Values (@PartNumber,@Qty) END GO When I execute AddQuote, I receive an error stating: Msg 515, Level 16, State 2, Procedure AddQuote, Line 31 Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'ID', table 'Diel_inventory.dbo.OrderDetail'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails. The statement has been terminated. I understand that I've set Qty field to not allow nulls and want to continue doing so. However, are there other syntax changes I should make to ensure that this sproc works correctly? Thanks, Sid

  • Importing data from text file to specific columns using BULK INSERT

    - by Dinesh Asanka
Bulk insert is much faster than using other techniques such as  SSIS. However, when you are using bulk insert you can’t insert to specific columns. If, for example, there are five columns in a table you should have five values for each record in the text file you are importing from. This is an issue when you are expecting default values to be inserted into tables. Let us say you have table as below: In this table, you are expecting ID, Status and CreatedDate to be updated automatically, so your text file may only have   FirstName  LastName  values as below: Dinesh,Asanka Saman,Liyanage Ruwan,Silva Susantha,Bathige Jude,Peires Sanjeewa,Jayawickrama If you use bulk insert to this table like follows, You will be returned an error: Bulk load data conversion error (type mismatch or invalid character for the specified codepage) for row 1, column 1 (ID). To avoid this you will need to create a view with the columns you are expecting to fill and use bulk insert against it. If you check the table now, you will see table with values in the text file and the default values.

  • App ID and Bundle Seed ID in multiple applications with ASPN, InApp Purchase, and other

    - by Benny7500
I will create multiple sale versions of the same application with push notifications feature: CoolApp (full version) CoolApp Free (free, features limited version) CoolApp InApp (free version upgradable to full via InApp Purchase) While registering for App ID in Apple Program Portal is possible to create "Bundle seed ID": "The Bundle Seed ID portion of your App ID can be utilized to share keychain access between multiple applications you build with a single App ID" Is possible to create only one App ID, for example: "XDFGYE6TR4.com.company.coolapp" and use it for all three versions of CoolApp, with enabled push notifications and in app purchases?

  • django url user id versus userprofile id problem

    - by dana
hello there, i have a mini comunity where each user can search and find another user profile. Userprofile is a class model, indexed differently compared to user model class (user id is not equal to userprofile id) But i cannot see a user profile by typing in the url the corresponding id. I only see the profile of the currently logged in user. Why is that? I'd also want to have in my url the username (a primary key of the user table also) and NOT the id (a number). The guilty part of the code is: what can i replace that request.user with so that it wil actually display the user i searched for, and not the currently logged in? def profile_view(request, id): u = UserProfile.objects.get(pk=id) cv = UserProfile.objects.filter(created_by = request.user) blog = New.objects.filter(created_by = request.user) return render_to_response('profile/publicProfile.html', { 'u':u, 'cv':cv, 'blog':blog, }, context_instance=RequestContext(request)) in urls (of the accounts app): url(r'^profile_view/(?P<id>\d+)/$', profile_view, name='profile_view'), and in template: <h3>Recent Entries:</h3> {% load pagination_tags %} {% autopaginate list 10 %} {% paginate %} {% for object in list %} <li>{{ object.post }} <br /> Voted: {{ vote.count }} times.<br /> {% for reply in object.reply_set.all %} {{ reply.reply }} <br /> {% endfor %} <a href=''> {{ object.created_by }}</a> <br /> {{object.date}} <br /> <a href = "/vote/save_vote/{{object.id}}/">Vote this</a> <a href="/replies/save_reply/{{object.id}}/">Comment</a> </li> {% endfor %} thanks in advance!

Hi, basically, I have 3 tables; users and projects (which is a many-to-many relationship), then I have 'usersprojects' to allow the one-to-many formation. When a user adds a project, I need the project information stored and then the 'userid' and 'projectid' stored in the usersprojects table. It sounds like its really straight forward but I'm having problems with the syntax I think!? As it stands, I have this as my INSERT queries (values going into 2 different tables): $project_id = $_POST['project_id']; $projectname = $_POST['projectname']; $projectdeadline = $_POST['projectdeadline']; $projectdetails = $_POST['projectdetails']; $user_id = $_POST['user_id']; $sql = "INSERT INTO projects (projectid, projectname, projectdeadline, projectdetails) VALUES ('{$projectid}','{$projectname}','{$projectdeadline}','{$projectdetails}')"; $sql = "INSERT INTO usersprojects (userid, projectid) VALUES ('{$userid}','{$projectid}')"; None of the information is being stored in the projects table, but the user ID is being stored in the usersprojects table (but not project ID!?)... I did have it working where the project information is stored correctly with a project ID, before I added this bit: $sql = "INSERT INTO usersprojects (userid, projectid) VALUES ('{$userid}','{$projectid}')"; But before the code above was put in, obviously no info is being stored in usersprojects table. The source code that links the script: <form id="addform" name="addform" method="POST" action="addproject-run.php"> <label>Project Name:</label> <input name="projectname" size="40" id="projectname" value="<?php if (isset($_POST['projectname'])); ?>"/><br /> <input name="user_id" input type="hidden" size="40" id="user_id" value="<?php echo $_SESSION['SESS_USERID']; ?>"/> <label>Project Deadline:</label> <input name="projectdeadline" size="40" id="projectdeadline" value="In the format of 'YYYY-MM-DD'<?php if (isset($_POST['projectdeadline'])); ?>"/><br /> <label>Project Details:</label> <textarea rows="5" cols="20" name="projectdetails" id="projectdetails"><?php if (isset($_POST['projectdetails'])); ?></textarea> <br /> <br /> <input value="Create Project" class="addbtn" type="submit" /> </form></div> So I think I'm right in saying I have the syntax for the SQL statement to be run an insert query of values into 2 tables? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks.

  • sqlite3 no insert is done after --> insert into --> SQLITE_DONE

    - by Fra
Hi all, I'm trying to insert some data in a table using sqlite3 on an iphone... All the error codes I get from the various steps indicate that the operation should have been successful, but in fact, the table remains empty...I think I'm missing something... here the code: sqlite3 *database = nil; NSString *dbPath = [[[ NSBundle mainBundle ] resourcePath ] stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"placemarks.sql"]; if(sqlite3_open([dbPath UTF8String], &database) == SQLITE_OK){ sqlite3_stmt *insert_statement = nil; //where int pk, varchar name, varchar description, blob picture static char *sql = "INSERT INTO placemarks (pk, name, description, picture) VALUES(99,'nnnooooo','dddooooo', '');"; if (sqlite3_prepare_v2(database, sql, -1, &insert_statement, NULL) != SQLITE_OK) { NSAssert1(0, @"Error: failed to prepare statement with message '%s'.", sqlite3_errmsg(database)); } int success = sqlite3_step(insert_statement); int finalized = sqlite3_finalize(insert_statement); NSLog(@"success: %i finalized: %i",success, finalized); NSAssert1(101, @"Error: failed to insert into the database with message '%s'.", sqlite3_errmsg(database)); sqlit3_step returns 101, so SQLITE_DONE, which should be ok.. If I execute the sql statement in the command line it works properly... anyone has an idea? could it be that there's a problem in writing the placemarks.sql because it's in the resources folder? rgds Fra

  • Ipod scrobbling to last.fm?

    - by Crud Mucosa
The Amarok 1.4 series scrobbled the songs I played via ipod (and also had great ipod song transfer functionality). I've not been able to scrobble songs played via my ipod then synced to a media player since my upgrade to 11.10 (and the subsequent total loss of Amarok 1.4). I see various media players (clementine, banshee) have requests in for this feature but I'd like to believe that something, somewhere has ipod scrobbling in Ubuntu! Was the 1.4 series of Amarok the only thing that had it? Good music management is one of the main reasons I've used Linux (besides stability, clean interfaces, ease of development, etc). The lack of ipod scrobbling to last.fm makes me a very sad panda.

  • Two BULK INSERT issues I worked around recently

    - by AaronBertrand
Since I am still afraid of SSIS, and because I am dealing mostly with CSV files and table structures that are relatively simple and require only one of the three letters in the acronym "ETL," I find myself using BULK INSERT a lot. I have been meaning to switch to using CLR, since I am doing a lot of file system querying using xp_cmdshell, but I haven't had the chance to really explore it yet. I know, a lot of you are probably thinking, wow, look at all those bad habits. But for every person thinking...(read more)

  • I'm trying to populate a MySQL table with some data, but, mysqli won't let me insert every 10th stat

    - by Tunji Gbadamosi
    I want to initialise a 'ticket' table with some ticket IDs. To do this, I want to insert 120 ticket IDs into the table. However, at every 10th statement, MySQL tells me that the ID already exists and thus won't let me insert it. Here's my code: //make a query $insert_ticket_query = "INSERT INTO ticket (id) VALUES (?)"; $insert_ticket_stmt = $mysqli->stmt_init(); $insert_ticket_stmt->prepare($insert_ticket_query); $insert_ticket_stmt->bind_param('s', $ticket_id); $mysqli->autocommit(FALSE); //start transaction for($i=0;$i<NO_GUESTS;$i++){ $id = generate_id($i); $ticket_id = format_id($id, $prefix['ticket'], $suffix['ticket']); $t_id = $ticket_id; //echo '<p>'.$ticket_id.'</p>'; //$result = $mysqli->query("SELECT * FROM ticket WHERE id='".$ticket_id."'"); //$row_count = $result->num_rows; if(($result = $mysqli->query("SELECT * FROM ticket WHERE id='".$t_id."'")) == FALSE){ $result->close(); if($insert_ticket_stmt->execute()){ $mysqli->commit(); echo "<p>".$t_id."added to the ticket table!</p>"; } else{ $mysqli->rollback(); echo "problem inserting'".$t_id."' to the ticket table"; } } else{ echo "<p>".$t_id."already exists, so not adding it!</p>"; $result->close(); } } $mysqli->autocommit(TRUE); $insert_ticket_stmt->close(); ?>

  • mysql LAST_INSERT_ID() used with multiple records INSERT statement

    - by bogdan
Hello, If i insert multiple records with a loop that executes a single record insert, the last insert id returned is, as expected, the last one... but if i do a multiple records insert statement: INSERT INTO people (name, age) VALUES('William',25),('Bart',15),('Mary',12); let's say the three above are the first records inserted in the table...after the insert statement i expected last insert id to return 3, but it returned 1...the first insert id for the statement in question... So can someone please confirm if this is the normal behavior of LAST_INSERT_ID() in the context of multiple records INSERT statements...so i can base my code on it thanks :)

  • Trouble with local id / remote id configuration of VPN

    - by Lynn Owens
I have a NetGear UTM firewall and a Windows machine running NetGear's VPN client. The Windows machine I can put on the UTM network and take off of it. When I am cabled into the local (internal) the following configuration works: UTM: Local Id: Local Wan IP: (The UTM's WAN IP address) Remote Id: User FQDN: utm_remote1.com Client: Local Id: DNS: utm_remote1.com Remote Id: (The UTM's WAN IP address) Gateway authentication: preshared key Policy remote endpoint: FQDN: utm_remote1.com But when I'm off the UTM's internal local network and simply coming in from the internet, this does not work. It simply repeats SEND phase 1 before giving up. Since I know that the UTM WAN IP is accessible from both inside and outside the network, I figured the problem was with the Client local id. So, I tried the following: UTM: Local Id: Local Wan IP: (The UTM's WAN IP address) Remote Id: (A DN of a self-signed certificate I created for the client and uploaded into the UTM certificates) Client: Local Id: (The DN of the aforementioned self signed cert) Remote Id: (The UTM's WAN IP address) Gateway authentication: (the aforementioned self signed cert) Policy remote end point: ... er, ... my choices are IP and FQDN.... Not sure what to put here No matter what I've tried, it just keeps repeating the SEND phase 1. Any ideas?
