• Android Video View - Fails to Load file from SD Card

  Hi, I have an activity that uses VideoView and MediaController. I have a .mp4 file. (1) When I put the file in res/raw folder, I can play the video using Uri.parse("android.resource://<package>/" + R.raw.id_video) (2) However, when I put the same file in the file-system, it plays properly. • Emma - Block Coverage vs Line Coverage

  I have a strange scenario... while doing a EMMA coverage for UT, I get the total block coverage size more than line coverage size. For block coverage, the total size is some 50,000 while the line coverage is out of 18,000. I get (block-coverage-value) / 50,000 and (line-coverage-value) / 18,000 in the report. Is it possible? How can the number of blocks be more than the number of lines in code? btw, you can assume that I know what Block Coverage is: http://emma.sourceforge.net/faq.html#q.blockcoverage

• Custom View - Avoid redrawing when non-interactive

  I have a complex custom view - photo collage. What is observed is whenever any UI interaction happens, the view is redrawn. How can I avoid complete redrawing (for example, use a cached UI) of the view specially when I click the "back" button to go back to previous activity because that also causes redrawing of the view. While exploring the API and web, I found a method - getDrawingCache() - but don't know how to use it effectively. How do I use it effectively? I've had other issues with Custom Views that I outline here.
