  • String (dd-MM-yyyy HH:mm) to Date (yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm) | Java

    - by Panther24
I have a string in "dd-MM-yyyy HH:mm" and need to convert it to a date object in the format "yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm". Below is the code I'm using to convert oldScheduledDate = "16-05-2011 02:00:00"; DateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss"); Date oldDate = (Date)formatter.parse(oldScheduledDate); Now when I print oldDate, i get Sat Nov 01 02:00:00 GMT 21, which is completely wrong, what am I doing wrong here?

  • rank on two dates - each date iteratively

    - by Abhi
How to query for rank over 'value' for each day in the below table? Ex: IT should list out the 'mydate', 'value', 'rank' for all values on 20th and then do a fresh rank() for all values on 21st? Thanks... create table tv (mydate, value) as select to_date('20/03/2010 00','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),98 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 01','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),124 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 02','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),140 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 03','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),138 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 04','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),416 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 05','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),196 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 06','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),246 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 07','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),176 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 08','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),124 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 09','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),128 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 10','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),32010 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 11','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),384 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 12','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),368 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 13','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),392 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 14','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),374 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 15','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),350 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 16','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),248 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 17','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),396 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 18','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),388 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 19','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),360 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 20','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),194 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 21','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),234 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 22','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),328 from dual union all select to_date('20/03/2010 23','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),216 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 00','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),224 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 01','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),292 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 02','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),264 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 03','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),132 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 04','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),142 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 05','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),328 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 06','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),184 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 07','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),240 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 08','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),224 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 09','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),496 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 10','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),370 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 11','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),352 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 12','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),438 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 13','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),446 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 14','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),426 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 15','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),546 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 16','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),546 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 17','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),684 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 18','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),568 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 19','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),504 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 20','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),392 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 21','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),256 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 22','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),236 from dual union all select to_date('21/03/10 23','dd/mm/yyyy HH24'),168 from dual

  • Where does the "mm" come from in GTKmm, glibmm, etc

    - by Cole Johnson
I understand that the "mm" suffix [in various GTK-associated C++ binding libraries] means "minus minus," but where exactly does it come from? I understand that there is a programming language called "C--," but if there were bindings (and I'm pretty sure I've seen some), they would be suffixed "--". TL;DR: Is there some page on gnu.org that explains the "mm" suffix in various C++ bindings or is it just a de facto standard adopted by the open source community with no reasoning behind it?

  • What is the easiest way to get a yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss timestamp hotkey on the Mac?

    - by Edward Tanguay
On Windows I use the PSPad editor which has a nice ALT-D timestamp which you can edit the format of, e.g. yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss. When working outside an editor, e.g. Google Docs, I have Autohotkey which I have programmed CTRL-D to insert a yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss timestamp. I am now working on a Mac mostly using TextWrangler as my editor but I can't find a timestamp hotkey in its features. What is the easiest way to get a yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss hotkey on Mac, either in a (free) text editor or a (free) autohotkey equivalent?

  • Defining a dd/mm/yyyy field within an abstract table model

    - by Simon Andi
    I have defined an abstract table model but one of the columns should house date values as dd/mm/yyyy format not sure how to do this. I have a external global file and have hard coded the dates as dd/mm/yyyy. How can I define this column within my abstract table model so that to only allow only dates having dd/mm/yyyy format. public class OptraderGlobalParameters { public static boolean DEBUG = true; //Set DEBUG = true for Debugging /*=========================*/ /*Table Array For Dividends*/ /*=========================*/ public static String[] columnNames = {"Date", "Dividend", "Actual", "Yield (%)" }; public static Object[][] data = { {"dd/mm/yyyy", new Double(5), new Boolean(false), new Boolean(false)}, {"dd/mm/yyyy", new Double(5), new Boolean(false), new Boolean(false)}, {"dd/mm/yyyy", new Double(5), new Boolean(false), new Boolean(false)}, {"dd/mm/yyyy", new Double(5), new Boolean(false), new Boolean(false)}, {"dd/mm/yyyy", new Double(5), new Boolean(false), new Boolean(false)}, }; }

  • [YYYY].[MM].[DD].[hh][mm] vs. [major].[minor].[revision] [closed]

    - by ef2011
Possible Duplicate: What “version naming convention” do you use? I am currently debating between the traditional versioning convention [major].[minor].[revision] and my own, almost whimsical, [YYYY].[MM].[DD].[hh][mm] for a new project I am starting. I understand that [major].[minor].[revision] is probably the most popular versioning method on the planet and it is indeed pretty straightforward and reasonable, except that determining which changes merit the label "major", "minor" or even "revision" could be... subjective. A versioning system based on a timestamp is purely non-subjective and guarantees uniqueness. Which one would you choose for your project and why?

  • Why does my Messaging Menu code not work when split into functions?

    - by fluteflute
Below are two python programs. They're exactly the same, except for one is split into two functions. However only the one that's split into two functions doesn't work - the second function doesn't work. Why would this be? Note the code is taken from this useful blog post. Without functions (works): import gtk def show_window_function(x, y): print x print y # get the indicate module, which does all the work import indicate # Create a server item mm = indicate.indicate_server_ref_default() # If someone clicks your server item in the MM, fire the server-display signal mm.connect("server-display", show_window_function) # Set the type of messages that your item uses. It's not at all clear which types # you're allowed to use, here. mm.set_type("message.im") # You must specify a .desktop file: this is where the MM gets the name of your # app from. mm.set_desktop_file("/usr/share/applications/nautilus.desktop") # Show the item in the MM. mm.show() # Create a source item mm_source = indicate.Indicator() # Again, it's not clear which subtypes you are allowed to use here. mm_source.set_property("subtype", "im") # "Sender" is the text that appears in the source item in the MM mm_source.set_property("sender", "Unread") # If someone clicks this source item in the MM, fire the user-display signal mm_source.connect("user-display", show_window_function) # Light up the messaging menu so that people know something has changed mm_source.set_property("draw-attention", "true") # Set the count of messages in this source. mm_source.set_property("count", "15") # If you prefer, you can set the time of the last message from this source, # rather than the count. (You can't set both.) This means that instead of a # message count, the MM will show "2m" or similar for the time since this # message arrived. # mm_source.set_property_time("time", time.time()) mm_source.show() gtk.mainloop() With functions (second function is executed but doesn't actually work): import gtk def show_window_function(x, y): print x print y # get the indicate module, which does all the work import indicate def function1(): # Create a server item mm = indicate.indicate_server_ref_default() # If someone clicks your server item in the MM, fire the server-display signal mm.connect("server-display", show_window_function) # Set the type of messages that your item uses. It's not at all clear which types # you're allowed to use, here. mm.set_type("message.im") # You must specify a .desktop file: this is where the MM gets the name of your # app from. mm.set_desktop_file("/usr/share/applications/nautilus.desktop") # Show the item in the MM. mm.show() def function2(): # Create a source item mm_source = indicate.Indicator() # Again, it's not clear which subtypes you are allowed to use here. mm_source.set_property("subtype", "im") # "Sender" is the text that appears in the source item in the MM mm_source.set_property("sender", "Unread") # If someone clicks this source item in the MM, fire the user-display signal mm_source.connect("user-display", show_window_function) # Light up the messaging menu so that people know something has changed mm_source.set_property("draw-attention", "true") # Set the count of messages in this source. mm_source.set_property("count", "15") # If you prefer, you can set the time of the last message from this source, # rather than the count. • strtotime() doesn't work with dd/mm/YYYY format!

    - by Syom
I really like the strtotime() function, but the user manual doesn't give a complete description of the supported date formats. strtotime('dd/mm/YYYY') doesn't work, it works only with mm/dd/YYYY format. if i have date in dd/mm/YYYY format, ho can i convert it to YYYY-mm-dd? i can do it by using explode() function, but i think tere are better solution. Thanks

  • /srv/mm/Music (etc) Twonky won't scan here for media

    - by Hamid
Is there something special about /srv/mm/ that Twonky server refuses to scan there? I previously had my system set up with all my Music, Video and Photo folders in /srv/mm shared by Samba, miniDLNA etc, with no problems. I came to install Twonky to replace miniDLNA and after two days of tearing my hair out, changing permissions and owners of the directories I ended up making a new directory at /multimedia and moved my Music, Video and Photo folders in there. Twonky then scanned them all straight away with no problems. I'm running Arch Linux (plugapps specifically) on a NAS. The solution is already implemented (moving the directory) I'm just wondering technically why Twonky might have refused to look for my media in the /srv/mm directories.

  • Paste string of date format mm/dd/yy to iWork-Numbers

    - by David.Chu.ca
I have trouble to paste a list of strings in the format of 'mm/dd/yy' into iWork-Numbers. For example: 04/01/10 04/03/10 04/13/10 The result will be: 2004-01-10 2004-03-10 04/13/10 It looks like that Numbers convert the mm into year, then month and last day. Is there any way to paste whatever as they are? Do I have to change settings in Numberers or System preference?

  • SQL Server not liking dates in YYYY-MM-DD format

    - by greenfingers
Is there a setting in SQL Server which will persuade it to accept 'yyyy-mm-dd' style dates in a query. Got queries which are running fine on most of our SQL servers one box running Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Developer doesn't like them. This is the error: The conversion of a char data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range datetime value. YYYYMMDD works fine
