• Download contents of FTP but only first 10meg of each file?

  I have an FTP of very large files scattered amonst smaller files. I was to be able to download the entire FTP contents, but limit the amount downloaded for each file to 10meg or so. So all files less than 10 meg will be in tact, but all files larger than 10 meg will have the first 10 meg of data. Is this at all possible? Is there at least a way to download all files smaller than 10meg?

• Working out global tab order algorithmically?

  We have a proprietry system where we can configure fields on indiviual forms. However these fields have a global tab order (we cannot specify for a specific form). We have a bunch of forms (35 in total) which share a lot of different fields. Each form has a specific tab/edit order that needs to be configured. Example: Form 1 has fields A,B,C,D in that order. Form 2 has fields E,F,G,A in that order. Form 3 has fields E,B,H,I in that order. The global tab orders would be E,F,G,A,B,C,D,H,I Notice how A needs to come before B yet after G. Is there any easy way to work this out using the tab order lists for each form? I need to merge this tab order information into a single global tab order list. I have over 200 fields in total and it is near impossible to do by hand.

• Preview label written in Eltron Programming Language EPL?

  I have code produced by our proprietry system in the Eltron Programming Language: This is sent to Eltron/Zebra label printers to be printed. Is there some kind of software that would allow me to interpret this code to do some form of 'print preview'? I am considering developing a way to convert this into an image or even postscript pdf, but I am struggling with how to do the barcodes (the lines starting in B is for barcodes). • Rotating text in postscript

For some reason when I output text with a rotation of 0 degrees, all other text that comes after that will not work, I can't seem to figure out why this is the case. In the example above, 'text1' and 'text2' will display, but not 3 and 4.

• Screen scraping C application without using OCR or DOM?

  We have a legacy system that is essentially a glorified telnet interface. We cannot use an alternative telnet client program to connect to the system since there are special features built into the client software they have provided us. I want to be able to screen scrape from this program, however that's proving very difficult. I have tried using WindowSpy and Spy++ to check the window text and it comes up blank. It's a custom C program written by the vendor (they have even disabled selecting text). I'm really looking for a free option and something I may perhaps be able to use in conjuction with a scripting language. It seems the only ways to grab text is directly from the Windows GDI or from memory, but that seems a little extreme. Can anyone recommend any software/DLLs that might be able to accomplish this? I'd be extremely appreciative.

• Convert PDF to Word offline?

  Is there any way to convert a PDF to Word document via code? I'm aware of several online sites that will do it however we cannot use them due to security concerns. Opening the PDF in Adobe, copying all of the text and pasting into Word will not work as all of the text ends up jumbled around the place. Is there any kind of utility that might accomplish converting PDF to Word (or rtf)?

• Regex to match a string that does not contain any words longer than 10 characters?

  ^(.)+\S{10}(.)+$ I have that regex which will match any string that contains a word of 10 characters. However I need the INVERSE of that. A regex that will only match strings which do NOT have words of =10 characters.
