  • simple document server built over Apache HTTP server

    Hi, I want to build a simple document server. The requirement for now is : provide a hierarchical directory structure for placing documents (like pdfs, doc files) that is accessible through a browser, and provide the facility to search for documents by name and then be able to download them from server. Right now, placing documents can be done manually (directly place the files into some designated directory). I can do the hierarchical structure part of the problem by adding some configs to Apache's httpd.conf file. Basically I create a root directory for documents and then give an alias to this directory in httpd.conf file. That way, I can browse the directory structure in my browser and also download files placed there. I can provide more detail on this if needed. However, it is the searching documents by name part that I am not able to get to a clear solution yet. I have a few ideas like integrating Lucene with Apache server, or maybe using CouchDb, but I am not very sure of all the details to solve this problem. Could anyone suggest some clear approach as to how to solve this part ?

  • Flex-built SWF's no longer work, error 2048, 2046, 2032

    I'm really confused about this problem, and I'm pretty new to Flex. Basically, anything I try to build with mxmlc fails to run now, giving me the above three errors depending on what I do. It was working 30 minutes ago, I've been spending that time trying to figure out what has changed. I redownloaded the Flex SDK, cleared my assetcache, have cleared Firefox's cache. (I'm using Linux.) Even if I compile with -static-link-runtime-shared-libraries=false, since it seems like #2048 is a RSL problem, it still refuses to run. Another strange thing, if I keep <policy-file-url>http://fpdownload.adobe.com/pub/swz/crossdomain.xml</policy-file-url> <rsl-url>textLayout_1.0.0.595.swz</rsl-url> in my flex-config file, then firebug tells me that my swf file is trying to access a copy of that in the app's folder, giving error 2032. And if I stick the one I have in frameworks/rsls/ then it gives me error 2046. I don't know how it could not be properly signed, unless Adobe magically changed a signature and didn't update their flex SDK. Any help will be appreciated.

    I'm modifying some code that calls enumerate on a list declared via a list comprehension e.g. self.groups = [Groups(self, idx) for idx in range(n_groups)] then later: for idx, group in enumerate(self.groups): # do some stuff but when I change the enumerate call to start at the 2nd list element via the start parameter e.g. for idx, group in enumerate(self.groups[1]): I get an exception: exceptions.TypeError: 'Group' object is not iterable Could someone explain why this is?

  • Why should I use MVVM when it breaks built in riaservices functionality

    I'm struggling to grasp why MVVM is really a good pattern to implement in riaserivces, To me there's nothing but trouble to it, it just add's another tier that I have to code. I Get that I could change the UI, but really I don't need to. Instead i won't be able to user out of the box functionality with riaservices, datagrid, dataform all controls require some implementation. Why can't it just be simple? Is there really no way to get MVVM to automatically set "IsBusy" and all the dataform edit functionality. It's like reinventing the wheel to me, and it seems that I'd be able to write code much faster just using riaservices

  • Jersey message body reader not found in maven-built JAR

    My application uses a REST (JAX-RS Jersey) interface. When I run it in Eclipse, everything' s fine. The domain objects are annotated, I'm not using XML files for the REST mapping. Now I created a standalone JAR using the maven-assembly-plugin, which packs the application and all dependencies in a single, executable JAR file. This also seems to work. But when I start the application and request an object from the server, Jersey complains, that it can't find a message body reader: com.sun.jersey.api.client.ClientHandlerException: A message body reader for Java type, class de.rybu.atuin.core.entity.User, and MIME media type, application/json, was not found Any ideas why this happens? EDIT: After I slept a night over it, I noticed that it complains about JSON... but I'm using only XML for serialization. Strange.

  • Linking error while using Qt static built libraries

    I hope this is not a duplicate. Recently I'm developing a native C++ application using Qt 4.8.3 and VS2008. Since clients run the application on their naked machines, they need to install VC++ 2008 Redistribution package. So I decided to make it statically linked. I changed my project settings (C/C++ Code Generation Runtime Library) to /MTd. Also I compiled Qt again, this time using following commands for a static building; originally found on this blog Static Qt with static CRT (VS 2008) 1- replaced -MD with -MT in lines QMAKE_CFLAGS_RELEASE and QMAKE_CFLAGS_DEBUG in %QDIR%\mkspecs\win32-msvc2008\qmake.conf 2- nmake confclean 3- configure -static -platform win32-msvc2008 -no-webkit 4- nmake sub-src I compiled Qt successfully. But when I tried again to compile my application, it gave me some strange errors. 1>Linking... 1>qtmaind.lib(qtmain_win.obj) : error LNK2005: "public: bool __thiscall QBasicAtomicInt::deref(void)" (?deref@QBasicAtomicInt@@QAE_NXZ) already defined in QtCored4.lib(QtCored4.dll) 1>qtmaind.lib(qtmain_win.obj) : error LNK2005: "public: bool __thiscall QBasicAtomicInt::operator!=(int)const " (??9QBasicAtomicInt@@QBE_NH@Z) already defined in QtCored4.lib(QtCored4.dll) 1>qtmaind.lib(qtmain_win.obj) : error LNK2005: "public: __thiscall QString::~QString(void)" (??1QString@@QAE@XZ) already defined in QtCored4.lib(QtCored4.dll) I changed some lib files but with each change, situation got worse; for example I tried to use QtCored.lib instead of QtCored4.lib because it is newly created after compilation.     Hi I develop in Visual Studio 2008 a lot and would like to find an addin like vsphp which enables intellisense and debugging in Visual Studio. Is IronStudio what I am looking for? As far as I understand IronStudio is a Plugin for .NET. If there is no Plugin for Visual Studio 2008 whats a great IDE for a python newbee who loves Visual Studio (hate netbeans and eclipse sorry just don't feel the love) Also if IronPython Studio is an IDE do I want the Isolated or Integrated Version?   • Use of Syntactic Sugar / Built in Functionality

    I was busy looking deeper into things like multi-threading and deadlocking etc. The book is aimed at both pseudo-code and C code and I was busy looking at implementations for things such as Mutex locks and Monitors. This brought to mind the following; in C# and in fact .NET we have a lot of syntactic sugar for doing things. For instance (.NET 3.5): lock(obj) { body } Is identical to: var temp = obj; Monitor.Enter(temp); try { body } finally { Monitor.Exit(temp); } There are other examples of course, such as the using() {} construct etc. My question is when is it more applicable to "go it alone" and literally code things oneself than to use the "syntactic sugar" in the language? Should one ever use their own ways rather than those of people who are more experienced in the language you're coding in? I recall having to not use a Process object in a using block to help with some multi-threaded issues and infinite looping before. I still feel dirty for not having the using construct in there. This is what I have found so far: * The look of radio button can be replaced with 4 drawables. * There is an example of ^^ on the web. This does not work for me.     We're using Hudson on Windows to build a .NET solution and run the unit tests (NUnit). Hudson is thereby used to start batch files that do the actual work. I am now trying to set up a new test that is to run on a build slave and will run very long. The test should use the binaries produced by the upstream build. I have searched the Hudson documentation but I cannot find how to pass upstream build artifacts to downstream slaves. How do I do this?

  • SQL Server union selects built dynamically from list of words

    I need to count occurrence of a list of words across all records in a given table. If I only had 1 word, I could do this: select count(id) as NumRecs where essay like '%word%' But my list could be hundreds or thousands of words, and I don't want to create hundreds or thousands of sql requests serially; that seems silly. I had a thought that I might be able to create a stored procedure that would accept a comma-delimited list of words, and for each word, it would run the above query, and then union them all together, and return one huge dataset. (Sounds reasonable, right? But I'm not sure where to start with that approach...) Short of some weird thing with union, I might try to do something with a temp table -- inserting a row for each word and record count, and then returning select * from that temp table. If it's possible with a union, how? And does one approach have advantages (performance or otherwise) over the other?

    I know how to override an object's getattr() to handle calls to undefined object functions. However, I would like to achieve the same behavior for the builtin getattr() function. For instance, consider code like this: call_some_undefined_function() Normally, that simply produces an error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> NameError: name 'call_some_undefined_function' is not defined I want to override getattr() so that I can intercept the call to "call_some_undefined_function()" and figure out what to do.   • Application built using VS2010 does not work in VS-Express2008 - C

    Hello, I have wrote an application that consists of two projects in a solution, each project contains only 1 .c source file. I was using Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate but due to the University only supporting 2008 I decided to create a blank solution and copy the source files into the new one. After creating a new solution in VS2008 express, creating two projects and re-creating and adding the source files to the projects I ran the application. For some reason only one part of the application does not work, I use CreateProcess() to execute "Project1.exe" from Project 2. This works fine under vs2010 but for some reason it's not working under VS2008 express, GetLastError() is showing an Error 2: File Not Found. This is an image showing the same code in both IDE's: I'm not using anything special and I've made sure that both solutions/projects are using .Net 3.5. I can't work out why it would work for one IDE and not the other. Any suggestions? Thanks!
