  • Math Looping Between Min and Max Using Mod?

    - by TheDarkIn1978
i'm attempting to build a tiny (or perhaps not so tiny) formula that will contain numbers between a set min and max, but also loop these numbers so they are not clipped if they are outside of the range. so far, this is what i have. min1 = 10 max1 = 90 val1 = 92 //will make 12, which is what i want since it loops formula: min(max(min1,min(val1,max1)),mod(val1,max1)+min1) however, i'd like it to loop the other direction also, so that if val1 is 5, which is -5 outside of min1, it will become 85. another problem i'm running into is that max1 % max1 != max1 as i want it to, since the max is part of the range trying to be clear, here are some examples of desired output based on a range with looping min1 = 10 max1 = 90 ---------------------------------------------- val1 = 30 //within range: stays as 30 val1 = 90 //within range: stays as 90 val1 = -6 //below range: loops to becomes 84 val1 = 98 //above range: loops to becomes 18 i'd like not to resort to using a series of if/else statements, but one would be fine if it's absolutely required. is that even possible?

  • What's wrong with my htaccess ? (500 Error)

    - by Dany Khalife
I've written a small htaccess file to redirect Internet Explorer users to a specific page Here are the contents : # MS Internet Explorer - Mozilla v4 RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} ^Mozilla/4(.*)MSIE RewriteRule ^index\.php$ /sorry.php [L] # All other browsers #RewriteRule ^index\.html$ /index.32.html [L] Any clue why this would give a 500 Internal Server Error ? I have used mod rewrite before so i have the module loaded there...

  • What do I need to Mod a Unreal Engine 3 game?

    - by RoadSideWarrior
what I am looking for is some advise making a mod for a certain game and how I would go about making it. The game I am talking about is Blacklight: Retribution and what I wan't to know is; Is it possible? And if so, what programs will I need? It is an online only game so I was unsure how plausible a mod would be for it. Plus I have never made a video game before, but I do like the game and I wanted to do some things with it. Additionally, this will be my first time making anything video game related so I would appreciate any advise. To expand a bit, I plan to add something simple at first. A mod that would let you spectate another player in the first person. Then I plan do something a bit more complex where I want to make so the game optionally always records you playing (in short intervals most likely or you would run quickly out of memory). After all that is done I would add items, armor, weapons, and maybe make a map or not I am not sure but this in a shell what I hope to do. I don't know much about these things but I am reading anything I can get my hands on. So if this is overly ambitious or just plain out not a possibility any advise on what I should look to instead will be welcomed warmly. Thank you.

  • php zencart mod - having problems with attributes array

    - by user80151
I inherited a zencart mod and can't figure out what's wrong. The customer selects a product and an attribute (model#). This is then sent to another form that they complete. When they submit the form, the product and the attribute should be included in the email sent. At this time, only the product is coming through. The attribute just says "array." The interesting part is, when I delete the line that prints the attribute, the products_options_names will print out. So I know that both the product and the products_options_names are working. The attribute is the only thing that is not working right. Here's what I believe to be the significant code. This is the page that has the form, so the attribute should already be passed to the form. //Begin Adding of New features //$productsimage = $product['productsImage']; $productsname = $product['productsName']; $attributes = $product['attributes']; $products_options_name = $value['products_options_name']; $arr_product_list[] = "<strong>Product Name:</strong> $productsname <br />"; $arr_product_list[] .= "<strong>Attributes:</strong> $attributes <br />"; $arr_product_list[] .= "<strong>Products Options Name:</strong> $products_options_name <br />"; $arr_product_list[] .= "---------------------------------------------------------------"; //End Adding of New features } // end foreach ($productArray as $product) ?> Above this, there is another section that has attributes: <?php echo $product['attributeHiddenField']; if (isset($product['attributes']) && is_array($product['attributes'])) { echo '<div class="cartAttribsList">'; echo '<ul>'; reset($product['attributes']); foreach ($product['attributes'] as $option => $value) { ?> Can anyone help me figure out what is wrong? I'm not sure if the problem is on this page or if the attribute isn't being passed to this page. TIA

  • Why won't this Apache modrewrite RewriteRule work?

    - by Jason Rhodes
I'm trying to get Apache mod rewrite to work on my local machine. I'm running OSX with PHP 5 and the Apache mod rewrite module is enabled. I have a directory called localhost/~Jason/hfh/admin with various PHP includes called based on a $_GET variable. I want to let users type (in theory) localhost/~Jason/hfh/admin/pages and have that URL stay in the address bar, while what gets displayed is localhost/~Jason/hfh/admin/?admin=pages So. I've created a .htaccess file that sits in the /hfh directory. Inside, I've put this mod rewrite text: RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^admin/([^/.]+)/?$ admin/?admin=$1 [L] When I go to the browser and type localhost/~Jason/hfh/admin/pages I get a "Problem loading page" error, and Firefox says, "Oops. Firefox can't load this page for some reason." Can anyone help me figure this out? I have such a hard time with regex and mod rewrite...

  • redirect non-www to www while preserving protocol

    - by Waleed Hamra
I am aware of the fact that there are tons of questions in this section and in server fault dealing with redirections from non-www to www URLs. But I couldn't find one dealing with this issue while preserving protocol. I am no mod-rewrite expert, and my code is just copy/pasted... here's what i have: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^domain.tld$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.domain.tld$1 [R=301,L] So now http://domain.tld and https://domain.tld are forwarded to http://domain.tld How do i make it so that https stays on https while http stays on http?

  • How does Starcraft 2 load it's metadata?

    - by chobok
Lets say you are playing Starcraft 2 melee map. The game loads the map. Melee maps have the following dependencies: Liberty (Mod) Liberty Multi (Mod) I think the game engine will load the data from Liberty (Mod) first, then from Liberty Multi (Mod). For data that exists in both dependencies, the engine will use the one from Liberty Multi (Mod). Is this correct? Liberty Multi (Mod) is updated with each patch of Starcraft 2. Does the game engine load just the latest version of Liberty Multi (Mod)? or Does the game engine load all the versions and overwrite duplicate data with the latest version?

  • Redirecting non existing post to homepage; is that good for SEO?

    - by BlackEagle
I am checking my website out on Google Webmasters and I am seeing an astonishing 5000 links that could not be found by Google's Crawlers. That's normal, because my website is built in a manner that users can drop their own things, which also lead to 404 pages. Not a problem at all if I can find a workaround of course... So my question is: what if I made a function or a mod rewrite that will check if the link exists (a post for example) and if not, it will redirect it to the home page. Is this good for SEO? Will Google see this as 'link found'? How do I have to look at this problem?

  • Setting up Mono/ASP.NET 4.0 on Apache2/Ubuntu: Virtual hosts?

    - by Dave
I'm attempting to setup Mono/ASP.NET 4.0 on my Apache server (which is running on Ubuntu). Thus far, I've been following a few tutorials/scripts supplied here, and here. As of now: Apache 2.2 is installed (accessible via 'localhost') Mono 2.10.5 is installed However, I'm struggling to configure Apache correctly... apparently the Virtual Host setting isn't doing its job and invoking the mod_mono plugin, nor is it even pulling source from the proper directory. While the Virtual Host setting points to '\srv\www\localhost', it clearly is pulling content instead from 'var/www/', which I've found is the default DocumentRoot for virtual hosts. I can confirm: "/opt/mono-2.10/bin/mod-mono-server4" exists. Virtual hosts file is being read, since undoing the comment in the main httpd.conf changed the root directory from 'htdocs' to 'var/www/' The Mono installation is at least semi-capable of running ASP 4.0, as evidenced by running XSP, navigating to 0.0.0.0:8080/ and getting an ASP.NET style error page with "Mono ASP 4.0.x" at the bottom. Can anyone point out how to fix these configurations and get Mono linked up with Apache? Here are my configs and relevant information: /usr/local/apache2/conf/httpd.conf: # # This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file. It contains the # configuration directives that give the server its instructions. # See <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2> for detailed information. # In particular, see # <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/directives.html> # for a discussion of each configuration directive. # # Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding # what they do. They're here only as hints or reminders. If you are unsure # consult the online docs. You have been warned. # # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the # server will use that explicit path. If the filenames do *not* begin # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "logs/foo_log" # with ServerRoot set to "/usr/local/apache2" will be interpreted by the # server as "/usr/local/apache2/logs/foo_log". # # ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's # configuration, error, and log files are kept. # # Do not add a slash at the end of the directory path. If you point # ServerRoot at a non-local disk, be sure to point the LockFile directive # at a local disk. If you wish to share the same ServerRoot for multiple # httpd daemons, you will need to change at least LockFile and PidFile. # ServerRoot "/usr/local/apache2" # # Listen: Allows you to bind Apache to specific IP addresses and/or # ports, instead of the default. See also the <VirtualHost> # directive. # # Change this to Listen on specific IP addresses as shown below to # prevent Apache from glomming onto all bound IP addresses. # #Listen 12.34.56.78:80 Listen 80 # # Dynamic Shared Object (DSO) Support # # To be able to use the functionality of a module which was built as a DSO you # have to place corresponding `LoadModule' lines at this location so the # directives contained in it are actually available _before_ they are used. # Statically compiled modules (those listed by `httpd -l') do not need # to be loaded here. # # Example: # LoadModule foo_module modules/mod_foo.so # <IfModule !mpm_netware_module> <IfModule !mpm_winnt_module> # # If you wish httpd to run as a different user or group, you must run # httpd as root initially and it will switch. # # User/Group: The name (or #number) of the user/group to run httpd as. # It is usually good practice to create a dedicated user and group for # running httpd, as with most system services. # User daemon Group daemon </IfModule> </IfModule> # 'Main' server configuration # # The directives in this section set up the values used by the 'main' # server, which responds to any requests that aren't handled by a # <VirtualHost> definition. • Math Mod Containing Numbers

    - by TheDarkIn1978
i would like to write a simple line of code, without resorting to if statements, that would evaluate whether a number is within a certain range. i can evaluate from 0 - Max by using the modulus. 30 % 90 = 30 //great however, if the test number is greater than the maximum, using modulus will simply start it at 0 for the remaining, where as i would like to limit it to the maximum if it's past the maximum 94 % 90 = 4 //i would like answer to be 90 it becomes even more complicated, to me anyway, if i introduce a minimum for the range. for example: minimum = 10 maximum = 90 therefore, any number i evaluate should be either within range, or the minimum value if it's below range and the maximum value if it's above range -76 should be 10 2 should be 10 30 should be 30 89 should be 89 98 should be 90 23553 should be 90 is it possible to evaluate this with one line of code without using if statements?

Example: http://keepyourlinks.com/link1.php?id=25 VS http://keepyourlinks.com/keep/25/series-yonkis (i updated the route of the CSS, but the Javascript is missing an the images asweell) I really would like not to have to correct al routes :(

  • Help using mod_jk to forward to backend app server

    - by ravun
I had mod-jk working a while ago but after switching servers and modifying some files, it no longer works. I am using mod_jk-1.2.28 with JBoss 4.2.3 as the backend. In the JBoss server.xml file I have the AJP 1.3 connector defined on port 8009 and I am binding jboss to the server's new IP address. The app I am trying to forward to is deployed as: [TomcatDeployer] deploy, ctxPath=/ManualAlerts, warUrl=.../tmp/deploy/tmp8097651929280250028ManualAlertsApp.ear-contents/ManualAlerts-exp.war/ On the web server, I have worker.properties with a worker set for the JBoss address and port 8009. The mod-jk.conf has JkMount /ManualAlerts/* worker1. Shouldn't this forward all requests to the web server with the URL http://address/ManualAlerts/ to the backend app named ManualAlerts? The mod-jk.log shows: [Sat Oct 31 14:19:28 2009][30709:3086014224] [error] ajp_send_request::jk_ajp_common.c (1507): (worker1) connecting to backend failed. Tomcat is probably not started or is listening on the wrong port (errno=115) [Sat Oct 31 14:19:28 2009][30709:3086014224] [info] ajp_service::jk_ajp_common.c (2447): (worker1) sending request to tomcat failed (recoverable), because of error during request sending (attempt=2) [Sat Oct 31 14:19:28 2009][30709:3086014224] [error] ajp_service::jk_ajp_common.c (2466): (worker1) connecting to tomcat failed. [Sat Oct 31 14:19:28 2009][30709:3086014224] [info] service::jk_lb_worker.c (1384): service failed, worker worker1 is in error state [Sat Oct 31 14:19:28 2009][30709:3086014224] [info] service::jk_lb_worker.c (1464): All tomcat instances are busy or in error state [Sat Oct 31 14:19:28 2009][30709:3086014224] [error] service::jk_lb_worker.c (1469): All tomcat instances failed, no more workers left Running netstat -an on the app server shows jboss listening on 8009 and the local address is the app server's address. In the mod-jk.log it shows connect to (XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:8009) failed, and the app-server address is correct here, too. I cannot figure out what's causing the issue.

  • Is there a way to legally create a game mod?

    - by Rodrigo Guedes
Some questions about it: If I create a funny version of a copyrighted game and sell it (crediting the original developers) would it be considered a parody or would I need to pay royalties? If I create a game mod for my own personal use would it be legal? What if I gave it for free to a friend? Is there a general rule about it or it depends on the developer will? P.S.: I'm not talking about cloning games like this question. It's all about a game clearly based on another. Something like "GTA Gotham City" ;) EDIT: This picture that I found over the internet illustrate what I'm talking about: Just in case I was not clear: I never created a mod game. I was just wondering if it would be legally possible before trying to do it. I'm not apologizing piracy. I pay dearly for my games (you guys have no idea how expensive games are in Brazil due to taxes). Once more I say that the question is not about cloning. Cloning is copy something and try to make your version look like a brand new product. Mods are intended to make reference to one or more of its source. I'm not sure if it can be done legally (if I knew I wasn't asking) but I'm sure this question is not a duplicate. Even so, I trust in the moderators and if they close my question I will not be offended - at least I had an opportunity to explain myself and got 1 good answer (by the time I write this, maybe some more will be given later).

  • Getting More Performance out of a MacBook Pro

    - by 5arx
So I've got a mid-2009 MacBook Pro 13". Integrated GPU so not a games machine but fast enough for doing .Net development in VMs. I love the little thing and wanted to give it a Christmas present so thought I'd mod it up a bit and give it a boost. I'm thinking of swapping out the stock 5400rpm HD with a faster hybrid drive (has 4GB RAM and spins at 7200rpm) but was wondering if any of you had tried or knew of anything else I could change/upgrade/mod to squeeze more out of my laptop. Before you answer though, please be aware that I'm not sure I can run to putting in the 8GB of RAM Apple have suggested :-( Thanks in advance.

  • URI Rewrite with fake subdomains and multiple variables

    - by Rich
Can someone please help with trying to use mod rewrite so foo.domain.com is rewritten to domain.com/p.php?s=foo and foo.domain.com/bar to domain.com/p.php?s=foo&p=bar? Currently my .htaccess is: RewriteEngine On # Remove www RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.domain.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://domain.com/$1 [R=301,L] # Rewrite subdomain etc. RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(.*)\.domain\.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^([^/]+)/?$ p.php?s=%1&p=$2 [QSA,L,NC] But I can't work out how to grab the second variable (being optional and after a slash at the end of the URI. I've tried changing the end of the condition to ?/(.*)$, but to no avail and my mod rewrite skills are certainly naff!

  • Connection reset by peer: mod_fcgid: error reading data from FastCGI server Issues

    - by user145857
Help is greatly needed for our server. We are experiencing random "Connection reset by peer: mod_fcgid: error reading data from FastCGI server" errors which cause a 500 internal server error. If the page is then reloaded it loads normally as it should. We are running MPM Worker with mod FCGID to handle PHP. We had APC cache enabled but disabled it recently to see if it would fix the problem, but the random mod FCGID errors are still continuing. No other opcode cache is active now. Our settings are below: <IfModule worker.c> MinSpareThreads 25 MaxSpareThreads 150 ThreadsPerChild 25 ThreadLimit 100 ServerLimit 700 MaxClients 700 MaxRequestsPerChild 0 </IfModule> <IfModule mod_fcgid.c> FcgidMaxRequestLen 1073741824 FcgidMaxRequestsPerProcess 2000 FcgidMaxProcessesPerClass 100 FcgidMinProcessesPerClass 0 FcgidConnectTimeout 300 FcgidIOTimeout 900 FcgidFixPathinfo 1 FcgidIdleTimeout 300 FcgidIdleScanInterval 120 FcgidBusyTimeout 300 FcgidBusyScanInterval 120 FcgidErrorScanInterval 12 FcgidZombieScanInterval 12 FcgidProcessLifeTime 3600 </IfModule> The server is a 64 core 2.1 GHZ 94 GB RAM so it has some power. Some of the fcgid timeout settings are higher because we run large reports which take up to 15 minutes. Any help is greatly appreciated! Just to clarify, the random fcgid errors are occurring when a user clicks a page on our site and the 500 error page loads instantly. This is random and occurrs less than 1% of the time but it is still an issue.

  • Unable to install mod_wsgi on CentOS 5.5 VPS...

    - by jasonaburton
I am trying to install mod_wsgi on my VPS, but it won't work. This is what I am doing: wget http://modwsgi.googlecode.com/files/mod_wsgi-2.5.tar.gz tar xzvf mod_wsgi-2.5.tar.gz cd mod_wsgi-2.5 ./configure --with-python=/opt/python2.5/bin/python After I run the above command, I get this error: checking for apxs2... no checking for apxs... no checking Apache version... ./configure: line 1298: apxs: command not found ./configure: line 1298: apxs: command not found ./configure: line 1299: /: is a directory ./configure: line 1461: apxs: command not found configure: creating ./config.status config.status: creating Makefile config.status: error: cannot find input file: Makefile.in Through some research I've discovered that I need to modify my command: ./configure --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs \ --with-python=/usr/local/bin/python But, /usr/local/apache/ doesn't exist, or so that's what it is telling me. If it doesn't exist, how do I create it with all the files needed, or if apache is located elsewhere on my VPS where would it be located? I'd also like to mention that I ran a command to install apache before this entire deal: yum install httpd so I assumed that was all I needed but apparently not (I am very new at all this server administration stuff so please be gentle) EDIT: This is the tutorial that I have been using to get this all set up: http://binarysushi.com/blog/2009/aug/19/CentOS-5-3-python-2-5-virtualevn-mod-wsgi-and-mod-rpaf/ I got stuck at the heading "Installing mod_wsgi" Thanks for any help!
