I've been not able to recompile with sqlite support using this: http://www.postfix.org/SQLITE_README.html Is there another way to get it to work?

• Logrotate, is this a proper config for what I want to do?

  I started using logrotate a few days ago on a new server setup (actually three of them). My config is as follows. /var/www/mywebsite.com/logs/*.log { rotate 14 daily dateext compress delaycompress sharedscripts postrotate /usr/sbin/apache2ctl graceful > /dev/null endscript } Problem is that this is putting several days of logs into the same file. For example, I've currently got a file called access.log-20121005 which has logs for Oct 3rd, Oct 4th and Oct 5th in it. Is that proper behaviour? What I want for it to do is to create one logfile for each day and keep 14 days of logs. Any help appreciated, thanks.

• How to find the /dev name of my USB device

  I am running Ubuntu 11 on VmWare on Windows XP. I want to format an SD card in Ubuntu. But, I can't figure out which /dev/xxx device the SD card is. I plug the card into the built-in socket of my laptop. I "safely remove" the device in Windows. Then, I "connect" the PCMCIA reader in VmWare. Now, I was supposing to see a new device like /dev/sdx. But, it doesn't appear :( How can I find what the name of my USB device's name and mount it? /var/log/message is empty. • Set Users as chrooted for sftp, but allow user to login in SSH

  I have setup a ssh server on debian 7, to use sftp connection. I chrooted some user, with this config: Match Group sftpusers ChrootDirectory /sftp/%u ForceCommand internal-sftp But if i want login with one of this chrooted users in ssh console, they get logged, but autoclose the connection. • Django HttpResponseRedirect acting as proxy rather than 302

  I have a Django method that's returning return HttpResponseRedirect("/redirect-target") When running the server locally, if I visit the page that returns that redirect, I get the log output [17/Oct/2013 15:26:02] "GET /redirecter HTTP/1.1" 302 0 [17/Oct/2013 15:26:02] "GET /redirect-target HTTP/1.1" 404 0 as expected. But, when I visit that page in Chrome, the Network tab shows the request to /redirecter with the response from /redirect-target, rather than showing the 302. cURL does the same: $ curl -I -X GET http://localhost/redirecter HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found date: Thu, 17 Oct 2013 19:32:30 GMT connection: keep-alive transfer-encoding: chunked In production, the same Django code does show a 302 redirect in Chrome and cURL. What could be going on here? Is there some kind of Django setting that might be causing it to proxy the target rather than send a redirect when HttpResponseRedirect is used (but lie about it in the log)? Or is there a quirk on my system (OS X) that might cause localhost redirects to behave this way?

• SPF record doesn't work (not sure which DNS server to tweak)

  Problem: Google (and perhaps others) marks our emails as SPF neutral. Let me give you some background about the setup: initially got a dedicated server (Hetzner) with Plesk installed to host a domain/web application, let's say: bigjaws.com. Plesk automatically creates a DNS zone for it with some records for the various services it provides out of the box, e.g. webmail.bigjaws.com as a CNAME to bigjaws.com to provide Horde/whatever, etc. Let me point out four relevant of these records (where XXX.XXX.XXX.158 is our dedicated IP): bigjaws.com. A XXX.XXX.XXX.158 mail.bigjaws.com. A XXX.XXX.XXX.158 bigjaws.com MX (10) mail.bigjaws.com. bigjaws.com. TXT v=spf1 +a +mx -all The above records are not(?) valid anymore though, because after using this dedicated server for a while, our site got bigger and bigger so we decided to move our operations over to AWS (EC2, RDS, ELB, etc), but we retained the mail functionality as is, i.e. emails from [email protected] are sent by connecting to our dedicated server where Plesk takes care of things. This was decided in order not to setup anything from scratch. Of course for all DNS-related things we now use Route53. In Route53 I have the following records: mail.schoox.com. A XXX.XXX.XXX.158 bigjaws.com. MX (10) mail.bigjaws.com bigjaws.com. SPF "v=spf1 +ip4:XXX.XXX.XXX.158 +mx ~all" From my understanding of SPF, the SPF status should have been passed: I designate that all email being sent by bigjaws.com from XXX.XXX.XXX.158 are valid/not spam (I added +mx there but I'm not sure if needed). When a mail server receives an email, doesn't it lookup the SPF record of the domain and checks against the IP it got the email from? Checking with spfquery: root@box:~# spfquery -ip XXX.XXX.XXX.158 -sender [email protected] -rcpt-to [email protected] StartError Context: Failed to query MAIL-FROM ErrorCode: (2) Could not find a valid SPF record Error: No DNS data for 'bigjaws.com'. EndError noneneutral Please see http://www.openspf.org/Why?id=employee1%40bigjaws.com&ip=XXX.XXX.XXX.158&receiver=spfquery : Reason: default spfquery: XXX.XXX.XXX.158 is neither permitted nor denied by domain of bigjaws.com Received-SPF: neutral (spfquery: XXX.XXX.XXX.158 is neither permitted nor denied by domain of bigjaws.com) client-ip=XXX.XXX.XXX.158; [email protected]; If I go to the address listed above (openspf.org) it tells me that the message should have been accepted(!): spfquery rejected a message that claimed an envelope sender address of [email protected]. spfquery received a message from static.158.XXX.XXX.XXX.clients.your-server.de (XXX.XXX.XXX.158) that claimed an envelope sender address of [email protected]. The domain bigjaws.com has authorized static.158.XXX.XXX.XXX.clients.your-server.de (XXX.XXX.XXX.158) to send mail on its behalf, so the message should have been accepted. It is impossible for us to say why it was rejected. What should I do? If the problem persists, contact the bigjaws.com postmaster. Also, here are some headers from an email sent by one of our [email protected] addresses to a gmail.com address (by the way, bigjaws.de listed in the "Received: from" field was the initial domain hosted on the dedicated server before adding the .com one -- both are still listed as separate subscriptions under Plesk). But how would I edit those lines without losing their functionality?

• Excel Pivot table: Calculated field based on only the first row of a group

  I've got the following data and pivot table: The Total column in the pivot table is the sum of the following calculated field: =start-TIME(7, 30, 0) I know that this calculation is wrong for what I want to achieve. I need to know how much delay I have had on each day to start the work. e.g. on 1-Oct-12, assuming I should have started my work at 7:30, 8:00 - 7:30 which yields 30 minutes delay, 1 hour delay for 2-Oct-12 and 50 minutes for 3-Oct-12. So my question is, how can I have a calculated field based on only the first row of each group in a pivot table?

• Unable to use autossh in background even with absolute path

  I would love to set autossh to run at boot adding it to /etc/rc.local. This command works: autossh -i /root/.ssh/id_rsa -R 2522:localhost:22 user@address But, if I add the -f option autossh -f -i /root/.ssh/id_rsa -R 2522:localhost:22 user@address The ssh session is not started. • postfix cannot send email

  I'd like to mention that im really new to this so please bear with me. I'm trying to setup a forum software to send emails via postfix but I think my server has the port 25 blocked. • How to get Apache to follow symlink instead of downloading it?

  I am just using the standard apache config file which mentions that it follows symlinks, but when I hit the url http://localhost/test it downloads the symlink file instead of following it. What config do I need to change to get apache to follow the symlink instead of downloading it? • Why am I getting this "Connection to PulseAudio failed" error?

  I have a computer that runs Mythbuntu 11.10. It has an external USB Kenwood Digital Audio device. When I open up pavucontrol, I get this message: If I do as the message suggests and run start-pulseaudio-x11, I get this output: $ start-pulseaudio-x11 Connection failure: Connection refused pa_context_connect() failed: Connection refused How do I correct this error? Update: Somewhere during the course of doing the suggested tests in the comments, a new audio device has now become visible in my sound settings. I have not attached or made any new device, so this must be the result of of some setting change. The device I use and know about is the Kenwood Audio device. • The NEW Oracle Enterprise Manager Extensibility Exchange

  Oracle Enterprise Manager continues to expand its Eco-system with the NEW Extensibility Exchange! The Exchange offers a searchable listing of Enterprise Manager entities. Today it’s stocked with plug-ins and connectors for Enterprise Manager 12c and 11g. Anyone - partners, customers, ACE community members, anyone - can post an entity subject to approval of course. So in addition to plug-ins and connectors, the Exchange will have best practices, deployment procedures, templates, and essentially any Enterprise Manager entity that’s relevant. The Exchange provides Development Resources to guide contributors in the creation of plug-ins and connectors. • How can I find out what .desktop file is being launched?

  I've used click install and click register to install a click app on Ubuntu (not Ubuntu Touch). The version was 0.5.1. Now, a new version (v0.5.6) is available and I installed it using the same method.   I regularly delete old kernels leaving only the latest two entries using Synaptic. I'm using Precise. However in my Grub "previous Linux version" menu there are quite a few entries labelled 2.6.8. • Break on EXC_BAD_ACCESS in XCode?

  I'm new to iPhone development and XCode in general and have no idea how to begin troubleshooting an EXC_BAD_ACCESS signal. How can I get XCode to break at the exact line that is causing the error? Further trial and error debugging and I found that an NSMutableArray I have a property for on my class was a zombie. I went into the init function for the class and here's the code I was using: if ((self = [super init])) { NSMutableArray *array = [NSMutableArray array]; self.terrainBlocks = array; [array release]; } return self; } I removed the [array release] line and it no longer gives me the EXC_BAD_ACCESS signal, but I'm now confused about why this works. I thought that when I used the property, it automatically retained it for me, and thus I should release it from within init so that I don't have a leak. I'm thoroughly confused about how this works and all the guides and Stackoverflow questions I've read only confuse me more about how to set properties within my init method. There seems to be no consensus as to which way is the best.

• In Varnish, how can I read the Set-Cookie response header?

  I am trying to detect if my application has set a cookie that holds an "alert message" for the user on the next page, where the Javascript displays it if detected. In my vcl_fetch(), I need to detect if the specific cookie value "alert_message" appears anywhere in the Set-Cookie header (presumably in the VCL variable beresp.http.Set-Cookie). If detected, then I do not want to cache that next page (since Varnish strips the Set-Cookie header by default, which would obliterate the alert message before it makes it back to the browser). So here is my simple test: if(beresp.http.Set-Cookie ~ "alert_message") { set req.http.no_cache = 1; } Strangely, it fails to evaluate to true. So I throw the variable into the Server header to see what it looks like: set beresp.http.Server = " MyApp Varnish implementation - test reading set-cookie: "+beresp.http.Set-Cookie; But for some reason this only displays the FIRST Set-Cookie line in the response headers.   I am attempting to proxy webmin behind nginx for various reasons that are outside the scope of this question. However I've been trying for a while now and can't seem to figure it out and think I'm to the point where I've exhausted all the permutations of the config file I can think of. SSL has been disabled for right now. So I make a standard request for the login page. However all the CSS and images are broken, with the standard login page returned for all of the resources. In the webmin miniserv logs I see 127.0.0.1 - - [29/Oct/2012:12:29:00 -0400] "GET /admin/quackwall-webmin/session_login.cgi HTTP/1.0" 401 2453 127.0.0.1 - - [29/Oct/2012:12:29:01 -0400] "GET /admin/quackwall-webmin/unauthenticated/style.css HTTP/1.0" 401 2453 127.0.0.1 - - [29/Oct/2012:12:29:01 -0400] "GET /admin/quackwall-webmin/unauthenticated/sorttable.js HTTP/1.0" 401 2453 127.0.0.1 - - [29/Oct/2012:12:29:01 -0400] "GET /admin/quackwall-webmin/unauthenticated/toggleview.js HTTP/1.0" 401 2453 So all the URL's are returning 401s. Interestingly ngrep seems to show that the requests suceeded on the backend communication between nginx and webmin T 127.0.0.1:58908 -> 127.0.0.1:10000 [AP] POST /admin/quackwall-webmin/session_login.cgi HTTP/1.0..Host: (host)..Connection: close..User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW 64; rv:16.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/16.0..Accept: text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,*/*;q=0.8..Accept-Language: en-US,en;q=0.5. .Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate..Referer: http://(host)/admin/quackwall-webmin/session_login.cgi..Cookie: testing=1..Cache-Control: ma x-age=0..Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded..Content-Length: 41....page=%2F&user=(user)&pass=(pass) T 127.0.0.1:10000 -> 127.0.0.1:58908 [AP] HTTP/1.0 200 Document follows.. Various other permutations of these config options and others show similar results, with the URL sent to webmin by nginx either being /admin/quackwall-webmin/session_login.cgi, /admin/quackwall-webmin//session_login.cgi, and just /session_login.cgi. All give 201 Unauthenticated responses. All requests, even those that somewhat succeed (as in I can actually load the resources of the page) Is changing the webprefix in webmin even supported? What am I doing wrong? What else can I try?
