• C++ MFC server app with sockets crashes and I cannot find the fault, help!

  My program has one dialog and two sockets. Both sockets are derived from CAsyncSocket, one is for listening, other is for receiving data from client. My program crashes when client tries to connect to server application and server needs to initialize receiving socket. This is my MFC dialog class. class CFileTransferServerDlg : public CDialog { ... ListeningSocket ListenSock; ReceivingSocket* RecvSock; void OnAccept(); // called when ListenSock gets connection attempt ... }; This is my derived socket class for receiving data that calls parent dialogs method when event is signaled. class ReceivingSocket : public CAsyncSocket { CFileTransferServerDlg* m_pDlg; // for accessing parent dialogs controls virtual void OnReceive(int nErrorCode); } ReceivingSocket::ReceivingSocket() { } This is dialogs function that handles incoming connection attempt when listening socket gets event notification. OnAccept starts when Listening socket signals incoming connection attempt, but my application then crashes. I've tried running it on another computer and connection attempt was succesful.   Outlook email receiving was working fine previously, but now this error message is appearing. Task '[email protected] - Receiving' reported error (0x80042112) : 'The following e-mail messages on the mail server cannot be downloaded. Contact your Internet service provider (ISP) or mail administrator if you continue to receive this error. Unfortunately it doesn't provide much information on what the cause is. Any ideas?

  I'm trying to determine if there is any buffer of time from the time a password expires in AD to the time that users would stop receiving email on their mobile devices our setup is Exchange 2007 ActiveSync DC's are Server 2008 R2 primarily Android shop, with maybe a few iOS devices I've heard some rumors of people still receiving email after their password expired / changed on the domain, just want to see if anyone else has ever heard of this. Did a bit more reading, read about Token Cache in IIS 7.0 and 15min lagtime, still would like to hear any thoughts about this.

  I'm trying to bootstrap a windows 2008 R2 Server with chef and i'm receiving this error :"CScript Error: Execution of the Windows Script Host failed. (0x800A0007)". After some research i find out that i must install the "specific_install" gem and use Knife-windows gem from git but when i'm trying to install gem with this command "gem specific_install -l https://github.com/opscode/knife-windows.git" i'm receiving the following error : "ERROR: While executing gem ... But how can I find out how long these delays are on my server and on the receiving side? My goal is to speed up email-traffic with partners using greylisting too and speed up the receiving of the first email someone sends to customers on my server.

  Hi! all, I am writing an application which is a kinda video streamer.The client is receiving a video stream using udp socket.Now as I am receiving the stream I want to play it simultaneous.It is different from playing local video file lying in your hard disk in which case it can be as simple as running the file using system("vlc filename").But here many issues are involved like there can be delay in receiving and player will have to wait for the incoming data.I have come to know about using vlc to run a video stream.Can you please elaborate the step for playing the stream using vlc.I am implementing my application in c++. The extra field in the intent is being left behind. Is this a bug or an intended behavior?

  I am trying to install bluez 5.2 libraries on Ubuntu 12.04. while running ./configure, I received error for GLib2.0, I was able to resolve by using sudo apt get-install for GLib2. Now I am receiving the error "configure: error: D-Bus = 1.6 is required". I have downloaded DBUS 1.8.6 and installed. but still I am receiving the same error. when checked in /etc folder i still find dbus-1. is there any installation error? Regards, Padma

• Why does ping flooding a domain name freezes and not a direct ip address

  I am wondering why, when ping flooding a domain, the ping flood freezes after a couple of seconds then continues and this freeze, unfreeze continues until i stop the ping flood. When i do the same using the ip it does not freeze. NEVER. i did for example sudo ping -f IP (It does not freeze) then i did sudo ping -f DomainName (It freezes after a couple of seconds) Why does ping flooding an IP not freezes and ping flooding the same place using the domain name does freeze. EDIT - What i mean about freezing is that the behavior of the ping flood should send a ping and create a dot (.) for each ping but also remove each dot (.) after receiving the echo request. Looks something like this: .......... <-- This means you just send 10 ping requests. If the requests are answer, for each request answer a dot is removed. The freeze happens when this is sending or receiving. The dots will stay there frozen, like is not receiving or sending any packets. For the PING FLOOD. I do not mean in the evil way of flooding a place, i mean in the testing way. To test the performance/speed of the request send and answered of the ping requests. If you send a ping flood to google's IP for about 10 seconds you would have send about 1000 packets.but if you do it to google's domain name (google.com) it will create the freeze am talking about. IMPORTANT - Do not confuse with flooding a site with ping of death attacks.

• Speeding up Outlook Express on Windows XP over satellite

  My brother is in the field with Doctors Without Borders. I'm posting this question on his behalf. We use outlook express (on a pc running windows XP) and a 9600 baud dial up satellite phone modem to get our email direct from the server in Paris. As this is a very expensive way to communicate (our satellite bill is $50K a year, no joke), it seems like trying to streamline is a good idea. Here's the question- when we connect, the sequence goes: Send outbox mails. This goes pretty quickly, probably 10-15 seconds for each email, up to maybe a couple minutes for an email of 150k or so). The status bar moves pretty quickly, according to the emails sent. The system then says "Checking for new messages on (our account name), and "Receiving list of messages from server". This takes a long time. Like 10-15 minutes. The status bar crawls along. Then it receives the messages. "Receiving messages from server". Again, each message takes 10-15 seconds, and this part moves along reasonably fast. I'm curious as to what is going on in the second part. It takes forever, and doesn't seem to be part of the sending or receiving messages themselves. Is there a way to speed up the process by changing a preference with communicating with the server or something? Does anyone have any advice for him speeding up what Outlooks Express is doing? Obviously his software is ancient and adding more software is not realistic based on the connection speed. Thanks!

• "invalid label" Firebug error with jQuery getJSON

  Hi all, I'm making a jQuery getJSON request to another domain, so am making sure that my GET URI ends with "callback=?" (i.e. using JSONP). The NET panel shows that I am receiving the data as expected, but for some reason the Console logs the following error: "invalid label". The JSON validates with JSONLint so I doubt that there is anything truly wrong with the structure of the data. Any ideas why I might be receiving this error?

• Create files on C:\ root gives error 0x80070522

  One of our customers has just found a problem when trying to create a file on the root of the C:\ Drive, on a Windows 7 Professional PC. I know they shouln't be keeping files here, but there is a valid reason in this case, so I've relaxed the security on the root of C:\ by giving the group 'users' modify permission. Before I relaxed the security, the user was receiving 'access denied', but now they are receiving the message: An unexpected error is keeping you from creating the file. If you continue to recieve this error, you can use the error code to search for help with this problem. Error 0x80070522: A required priviledge is not held by the client. Googling for this suggests that it is caused by UAC, but how can I get round this when the user doesn't have admin rights on their PC?

• Outlook receives winmail.txt attachment instead of Excel, PowerPoint or Word attachments from Lotus notes senders

  Ok so the title pretty much says it all. We are offering a Hosted Exchange solution for our customer. Everything is working fine except for one customer complaining that he is receiving winmail.dat or winmail.txt attachments instead of the actual Word Excel or PowerPoint attachments he should be receiving, only when these messages come from a specific European senders, that is using Lotus Notes. I know that usually the problem is coming from Outlook senders to other mail clients, but this is not the first they inform me of this but I can't find anything on the matter so far. Has anyone ever gotten and solved this problem? If not, does anyone have any idea regarding this? I had solved this problem a few months ago, by upgrading Outlook to SP2 and then uninstalling it using the Service Pack removing tool of Microsoft. It seems that only the latest SP1 version could work but not the SP2. The problem is that now nothing is working at all. Thank you for your help, Philippe
