In VxWorks 5.5.1 you could run a script using the execute command. In VxWorks 6.7 the execute command is no longer supported. Does anyone now if there is a replacement?
I'm having an issue running unit tests for authorization in a Pylons app. It appears as though certain cookies set in the test case may not be correctly written or parsed. Cookies work fine when hitting the app with a browser.
Here is my test case inside a paste-generated TestController:
def test_good_login(self):
r = self.app.post('/dologin', params={'login': self.user['username'], 'password': self.password})
r = r.follow() # Should only be one redirect to root
assert 'http://localhost/' == r.request.url
assert 'Dashboard' in r
This is supposed to test that a login of an existing account forwards the user to the dashboard page. Instead, what happens is that the user is redirected back to the login. The first POST works, sets the user in the session and returns cookies. Although those cookies are sent in the follow request, they don't seem to be correctly parsed.
I start by setting a breakpoint at the beginning of the above method and see what the login response returns:
> nosetests --pdb --pdb-failure -s foo.tests.functional.test_account:TestMainController.test_good_login
Running setup_config() from foo.websetup
> /Users/istevens/dev/foo/foo/tests/functional/test_account.py(33)test_good_login()
-> r = self.app.post('/dologin', params={'login': self.user['username'], 'password': self.password})
(Pdb) n
> /Users/istevens/dev/foo/foo/tests/functional/test_account.py(34)test_good_login()
-> r = r.follow() # Should only be one redirect to root
(Pdb) p r.cookies_set
{'auth_tkt': '"4c898eb72f7ad38551eb11e1936303374bd871934bd871833d19ad8a79000000!"'}
(Pdb) p r.request.environ['REMOTE_USER']
'4bd871833d19ad8a79000000'
(Pdb) p r.headers['Location']
'http://localhost/?__logins=0'
A session appears to be created and a cookie sent back. The browser is redirected to the root, not the login, which also indicates a successful login. If I step past the follow(), I get:
> /Users/istevens/dev/foo/foo/tests/functional/test_account.py(35)test_good_login()
-> assert 'http://localhost/' == r.request.url
(Pdb) p r.request.headers
{'Host': 'localhost:80', 'Cookie': 'auth_tkt=""\\"4c898eb72f7ad38551eb11e1936303374bd871934bd871833d19ad8a79000000!\\"""; '}
(Pdb) p r.request.environ['REMOTE_USER']
*** KeyError: KeyError('REMOTE_USER',)

(Pdb) p r.request.cookies

(Pdb) p r
<302 Found text/html location: http://localhost/login?__logins=1&came_from=http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost%2F body='302 Found...y. '/149>
This indicates to me that the cookie was passed in on the request, although with dubious escaping. The environ appears to be without the session created on the prior request. The cookie has been copied to the environ from the headers, but the cookies in the request seems incorrectly set. Lastly, the user is redirected to the login page, indicating that the user isn't logged in.
Authorization in the app is done via repoze.who and repoze.who.plugins.ldap with repoze.who_friendlyform performing the challenge. I'm using the stock tests.TestController created by paste:
class TestController(TestCase):
def __init__(self, *args, **kwargs):
if pylons.test.pylonsapp:
wsgiapp = pylons.test.pylonsapp
else:
wsgiapp = loadapp('config:%s' % config['__file__'])
self.app = TestApp(wsgiapp)
url._push_object(URLGenerator(config['routes.map'], environ))
TestCase.__init__(self, *args, **kwargs)
That's a webtest.TestApp, by the way.
The encoding of the cookie is done in webtest.TestApp using Cookie:
>>> from Cookie import _quote
>>> _quote('"84533cf9f661f97239208fb844a09a6d4bd8552d4bd8550c3d19ad8339000000!"')
'"\\"84533cf9f661f97239208fb844a09a6d4bd8552d4bd8550c3d19ad8339000000!\\""'
I trust that that's correct.
My guess is that something on the response side is incorrectly parsing the cookie data into cookies in the server-side request. But what? Any ideas?
I know that php has md5(), sha1(), and the hash() functions, but I want to create a hash using the MySQL PASSWORD() function. So far, the only way I can think of is to just query the server, but I want a function (preferably in php or Perl) that will do the same thing without querying MySQL at all.
For example:
MySQL hash - 464bb2cb3cf18b66
MySQL5 hash - *01D01F5CA7CA8BA771E03F4AC55EC73C11EFA229
Thanks!
Hello,
I wonder if anyone knows how could I rename multiple files, all of them originally named with same structure, and add some data extracted from a mysql DB according to specifics rules.
For example I have 500 files named with this vars:
ID NAME ADDRESS PHONE.wav = 1234567 PAULSIMON WESTDR122 9942213456.wav
Now I need to rename files taking some data from the databases for each file, and
append the data from a query appended to the filename.
For example add the data resulting from a query Where some conditions match,
and the data to build the query is taked from original file name, as ID or NAME.
i other words, lets say that I want to build a query taking ID & NAME from file
1234567 PAULSIMON WESTDR123 9942213456.wav as WHERE statements to take another value
as BirthDATE and add this to new filename, so final result should be:
ID NAME ADDRESS PHONE BIRTHDATE.wav
I will appreciate any help on this.
I need this to be done on a LINUX server.
I have an Asp.NET 3.5 application with security/authentication. I have a second application (built using GWT and running on Windows Tomcat) running on a different machine.
I need to make the second application available to the user via a link generated from the .NET application. This part is easy, I have constructed the link in the asp.net page and the user can click on it to start working in the GWT/Tomcat session.
My question is this...
How do I set it up so that the Tomcat/GWT application is Only Accessible via the link in my asp.NET application?
I don't want the user to be able to copy the link from my asp.net page and then share that with someone else who is not authenticated within my asp.net application.
I need to create a PHP script that runs around the clock and re-submits a form without actually loading the form, just sending the same request over and over. I used a program called WireShark to record my packets and play them back using a packet player. This took two hours of troubleshooting and configuring. When everything finally worked, it turns out the end result was a dead end. The packets being sent did not affect anything.
This code is what the script needs to resubmit:
<a href="#" onclick="_('_tf11').value=15; return false;">(15)</a>
<input type="image" id="btn_train" class="dynamic_img" value="ok" name="s1" src="assets/x.gif" alt="Training">
Okay, I know that here on stackoverflow you can't just ask people to do your work. The problem is that I don't even know where to start here. So please at least give me a direction, or a function name or a lead on how to be able to submit this form. Then I'll write a program and you guys can help me finish it if I will need help.
here is what I made:
The program:
<?php
//create array of data to be posted
$post_data['tf[11]'] = '10000';
$post_data['s1'] = 'ok';
//traverse array and prepare data for posting (key1=value1)
foreach ( $post_data as $key => $value) {
$post_items[] = $key . '=' . $value;
}
//create the final string to be posted using implode()
$post_string = implode ('&', $post_items);
//create cURL connection
$curl_connection =
curl_init('http://crusadertrav.com/build.php?id=33');
//set options
curl_setopt($curl_connection, CURLOPT_CONNECTTIMEOUT, 30);
curl_setopt($curl_connection, CURLOPT_USERAGENT,
"Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)");
curl_setopt($curl_connection, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, true);
curl_setopt($curl_connection, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, false);
curl_setopt($curl_connection, CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION, 1);
//set data to be posted
curl_setopt($curl_connection, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $post_string);
//perform our request
$result = curl_exec($curl_connection);
//show information regarding the request
print_r(curl_getinfo($curl_connection));
echo curl_errno($curl_connection) . '-' .
curl_error($curl_connection);
//close the connection
curl_close($curl_connection);
?>
The forms:
<input type="text" class="text" id="_tf11" name="tf[11]" value="0" maxlength="4">
<input type="image" id="btn_train" class="dynamic_img" value="ok" name="s1" src="assets/x.gif" alt="Training">

I'm a Linux user looking to write a program which will pick up the phone, dial a number, play a recording and record what the person on the other end of the line says and save it to an audio file. I will want to use the modem that came with my computer if possible. What should I use to write this program?
I have a small project I started in MVC 1 and have resisted (until now) moving to MVC 2. Problem is, everything seems to be just a mishmash of MVC. So...
What significant differences are there?
What do I need to know to take advantage of what's there?
Are there breaking changes?
Where's a good place to learn all of this stuff?
Hi
I have a very simple WPF project comprising a Window and Usercontrol. I'm very much in a learning phase. It works fine when I run it. However, I am unable to see the form in design time. The problem, I believe is something to do with namespaces, but I don't understand where. It may well be a simple error

I have successfully implemented Apache’s Solr for free text searching a database driven web site build for windows platforms using Visual Studio in c#.
I am trying to get a version Solr working with field collapsing (which is not in the release version). There are patches available from apache and discussions on the web of people successfully doing this for the version I am using but my problem is cannot get the build to work.
I am a c# coder on windows platforms so java development is new to me. I understand I need to get the correct source code (and revision) from SVN, add the appropriate patches, then build the war file to deploy to my system. I cannot seem to get the source to build and produce the deployment code including jar (and subsequent war) files.
My system is:
Windows 7 Ultimate for development
Visual Studio 2010 for c# / javascript development
MyEclipse 8.6 / Eclipse 3.5 for the java build from source
Subecplise 1.6x SVN plugin to get the source from apache’s SVN
Apache Solr 1.4.1
So far I have:
Found the right patches for the function I need:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-236
Specifically I need to patch:
field_collapsing_1.1.0.patch
HTTPS //issues.apache.org/jira/secure/attachment/12357681/field_collapsing_1.1.0.patch
and
SOLR-236-1_4_1.patch
HTTPS //issues.apache.org/jira/secure/attachment/12448216/SOLR-236-1_4_1.patch
I downloaded the Lucene trunk version from the day before the patch was released (revision 958303 from 28/6/10) via subeclipse into a java package in myeclipse from:
HTTPS //svn.apache.org/repos/asf/lucene/dev/trunk
(Solr is the web implementation of Lucene and is in the subfolder solr/)
I can apply patches to the solr directory once it has downloaded but the parent Lucene project doesn’t build the war files, copy the jar or other files into the bin folder (it stays empty). The build process starts, but doesn’t do anything apart from creating the folders bin and src. I am building the whole Lucene project, which contains Solr.
I have tried building the source without patching and the same happens.
If I copy out the Solr directory into a new project, it runs the build and copies all the related files, tests, etc but fails with 4,500 errors and does not produce the jar files or war file, which I assume is because it can’t find the Lucene trunk files which it depends on.
I have two interrelated problems
1) I can't get the Lucene downloaded trunk to build
2) The jar, war and associated files are not created
Can anyone help with what I am missing to build the war file? I have spent 2 days to get this far as the help online is extremely patchy and I can’t find a walk though tutorial on building a java war file from source in a windows environment.
Any help will be much appreciated.

I'm struggling to understand parts of StructureMap's usage.
In particular, in the documentation a statement is made regarding a common anti-pattern, the use of StructureMap as a Service Locator only instead of constructor injection (code samples straight from Structuremap documentation):
public ShippingScreenPresenter()
{
_service = ObjectFactory.GetInstance<IShippingService>();
_repository = ObjectFactory.GetInstance<IRepository>();
}
instead of:
public ShippingScreenPresenter(IShippingService service, IRepository repository)
{
_service = service;
_repository = repository;
}
This is fine for a very short object graph, but when dealing with objects many levels deep, does this imply that you should pass down all the dependencies required by the deeper objects right from the top? Surely this breaks encapsulation and exposes too much information about the implementation of deeper objects.
Let's say I'm using the Active Record pattern, so my record needs access to a data repository to be able to save and load itself. If this record is loaded inside an object, does that object call ObjectFactory.CreateInstance() and pass it into the active record's constructor? What if that object is inside another object. Does it take the IRepository in as its own parameter from further up? That would expose to the parent object the fact that we're access the data repository at this point, something the outer object probably shouldn't know.
public class OuterClass
{
public OuterClass(IRepository repository)
{
// Why should I know that ThingThatNeedsRecord needs a repository?
// that smells like exposed implementation to me, especially since
// ThingThatNeedsRecord doesn't use the repo itself, but passes it
// to the record.
// Also where do I create repository? Have to instantiate it somewhere
// up the chain of objects
ThingThatNeedsRecord thing = new ThingThatNeedsRecord(repository);
thing.GetAnswer("question");
}
}
public class ThingThatNeedsRecord
{
public ThingThatNeedsRecord(IRepository repository)
{
this.repository = repository;
}
public string GetAnswer(string someParam)
{
// create activeRecord(s) and process, returning some result
// part of which contains:
ActiveRecord record = new ActiveRecord(repository, key);
}
private IRepository repository;
}
public class ActiveRecord
{
public ActiveRecord(IRepository repository)
{
this.repository = repository;
}
public ActiveRecord(IRepository repository, int primaryKey);
{
this.repositry = repository;
Load(primaryKey);
}
public void Save();
private void Load(int primaryKey)
{
this.primaryKey = primaryKey;
// access the database via the repository and set someData
}
private IRepository repository;
private int primaryKey;
private string someData;
}
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

As customer interactions increase across an expanding
number of communication channels, business leaders are struggling to
understand and engage with each customer effectively. To address this
challenge, leading organizations are adopting strategies around “next
best action,” a decision-support model that systematically identifies
the next best step to take in the customer conversation—whether that
action is providing additional information or targeted services,
presenting a unique offer, or taking no action at all...

Hi all,
we have a project written in Delphi that we want to convert to C#. Problem is that we have some passwords and settings that are encrypted and written into the registry. When we need a specified password we get it from the registry and decrypt it so we can use it. For the conversion into C# we have to do it the same way so that the application can also be used by users that have the old version and want to upgrade it.
Here is the code we use to encrypt/decrypt strings in Delphi:
unit uCrypt;
interface
function EncryptString(strPlaintext, strPassword : String) : String;
function DecryptString(strEncryptedText, strPassword : String) : String;
implementation
uses
DCPcrypt2, DCPblockciphers, DCPdes, DCPmd5;
const
CRYPT_KEY = '1q2w3e4r5t6z7u8';
function EncryptString(strPlaintext) : String;
var
cipher : TDCP_3des;
strEncryptedText : String;
begin
if strPlaintext <> '' then
begin
try
cipher := TDCP_3des.Create(nil);
try
cipher.InitStr(CRYPT_KEY, TDCP_md5);
strEncryptedText := cipher.EncryptString(strPlaintext);
finally
cipher.Free;
end;
except
strEncryptedText := '';
end;
end;
Result := strEncryptedText;
end;
function DecryptString(strEncryptedText) : String;
var
cipher : TDCP_3des;
strDecryptedText : String;
begin
if strEncryptedText <> '' then
begin
try
cipher := TDCP_3des.Create(nil);
try
cipher.InitStr(CRYPT_KEY, TDCP_md5);
strDecryptedText := cipher.DecryptString(strEncryptedText);
finally
cipher.Free;
end;
except
strDecryptedText := '';
end;
end;
Result := strDecryptedText;
end;
end.
So for example when we want to encrypt the string asdf1234 we get the result WcOb/iKo4g8=.
We now want to decrypt that string in C#. Here is what we tried to do:
public static void Main(string[] args)
{
string Encrypted = "WcOb/iKo4g8=";
string Password = "1q2w3e4r5t6z7u8";
string DecryptedString = DecryptString(Encrypted, Password);
}
public static string DecryptString(string Message, string Passphrase)
{
byte[] Results;
System.Text.UTF8Encoding UTF8 = new System.Text.UTF8Encoding();
// Step 1. We hash the passphrase using MD5
// We use the MD5 hash generator as the result is a 128 bit byte array
// which is a valid length for the TripleDES encoder we use below
MD5CryptoServiceProvider HashProvider = new MD5CryptoServiceProvider();
byte[] TDESKey = HashProvider.ComputeHash(UTF8.GetBytes(Passphrase));
// Step 2. Create a new TripleDESCryptoServiceProvider object
TripleDESCryptoServiceProvider TDESAlgorithm = new TripleDESCryptoServiceProvider();
// Step 3. Setup the decoder
TDESAlgorithm.Key = TDESKey;
TDESAlgorithm.Mode = CipherMode.ECB;
TDESAlgorithm.Padding = PaddingMode.None;
// Step 4. Convert the input string to a byte[]
byte[] DataToDecrypt = Convert.FromBase64String(Message);
// Step 5. Attempt to decrypt the string
try
{
ICryptoTransform Decryptor = TDESAlgorithm.CreateDecryptor();
Results = Decryptor.TransformFinalBlock(DataToDecrypt, 0, DataToDecrypt.Length);
}
finally
{
// Clear the TripleDes and Hashprovider services of any sensitive information
TDESAlgorithm.Clear();
HashProvider.Clear();
}
// Step 6. Return the decrypted string in UTF8 format
return UTF8.GetString(Results);
}
Well the result differs from the expected result. After we call DecryptString() we expect to get asdf1234but we get something else.
Does anyone have an idea of how to decrypt that correctly?
Thanks in advance
Simon
It was only a matter of time before someone chained together dozens of Raspberry Pi boards into a serviceable super computer; read on to see how a team of Southampton scientists built a 64-core machine using them. Image courtesy of Simon Cox and the University of Southampton. From the University of South Hampton press release: Professor Cox comments: “As soon as we were able to source sufficient Raspberry Pi computers we wanted to see if it was possible to link them together into a supercomputer. We installed and built all of the necessary software on the Pi starting from a standard Debian Wheezy system image and we have published a guide so you can build your own supercomputer.” The racking was built using Lego with a design developed by Simon and James, who has also been testing the Raspberry Pi by programming it using free computer programming software Python and Scratch over the summer. The machine, named “Iridis-Pi” after the University’s Iridis supercomputer, runs off a single 13 Amp mains socket and uses MPI (Message Passing Interface) to communicate between nodes using Ethernet. The whole system cost under £2,500 (excluding switches) and has a total of 64 processors and 1Tb of memory (16Gb SD cards for each Raspberry Pi). Hi all,
this week we have been suffering some malicious vulnerability scans to our servers, increasing the load on them, making them nearly unusable.
The attack is easy to defend, just blocking the offending ip, but only after discovering it.
Is there any form of prevent it? Is it normal that one server becomes nearly unusable due to one of these scans?
These are the requests done in just one second to our server:

Thanks in advance!
I have installed an instance of Win Server 2008 R2 on a Virtual machine.
This machine is purposefully on an isolated environment (no internet) for testing purposes.
I need to activate the machine and I have my MSDN key ready to go.
I just ran through the same steps with a Windows 7 VM, and was able to register using an automated telephone service from Microsoft.
With Windows Server 2008, I can see the same option to register using this service, but it is greyed out:
Google pointed me to people experiencing this issue but the only workarounds I saw where to use the internet (not an option for me).
Does anyone know how to enable this option?
I am using Webalizer to view my site stats, and it's working ok with one exception; I have log rolling configured so my log directory looks something like this:
:/var/log/apache2$ ls
access.log
access.log.1
access.log.2.gz
access.log.3.gz
...
Webalizer ends up only storing the last ~4 days each time it runs, so I only ever get a rolling window of stats rather than the full month. How can I make Webalizer process the full set of logs?
I have Windows Media Player set up to stream video to several devices in my apartment. I had recently run out of space so I purchased an external drive to store my videos/music etc.
I can add the media to my WMP library and play it locally without issue. As soon as I try to access the media from another device that supports media streaming (Media player or another PC) only the media stored on a fixed drive is available.
Is there a way to enable media sharing from a removable drive or somehow trick WMP that the media is stored on a fixed drive?
I tried setting up a SymLink linking a directory on the fixed drive to the removable one but with the same result.
