    My app has a thread that does some time consuming job for more than a minute and the app consumes around 6.8MB of memory. I receive a memory warning after sometime and then it gets killed. There is nothing that I can release, and I am using not even 7MB of memory...driving me crazy...any advice please?

    Whenever I do a scanf before a fgets the fgets instruction gets skipped. I have come accross this issue in C++ and I remember I had to had some instrcution that would clear the stdin buffer or something like that. I suppose there's an equivalent for C. What is it? Thanks.

I also have a script manager on that page. now when I click on any of the buttons then the functionality is working fine but problem is that the complete page gets reloaded witha a flick, instead of updating the update panel only. I have set the "children as trigger" property of update panel "true". please help.

    I am using Oracle 11g and when I query data from database manually, it looks ok. But when I view it using Notepad++, there is a special character that gets inserted anywhere in the xml produced. Please see image below: I tried everything and deleted some parts of the xml, updated the db and query again but the invalid character just differ in location. Any idea is much appreciated, thanks!     I get the ERROR: 3073 Operation must use an updateable query SOMETIMES, while performing an INSERT statment. I have no problem on my windows 7 PC, but the person I am writing this for sometimes gets the error. She also has MS Access 2010 on Windows 7. As I said I have never got it on my PC, and she only gets it sometimes. The code will insert a number of rows and then through the error, and other times not through the erro at all. The error occurs if I have the code and data in one .mdb file or seperate files.   • App is crashing as soon as UITableView gets reloaded

    Hello, I'm developing an app where TableView needs to reload as soon as the login process gets completed. The app crashes with error EXC_BAD_ACCESS when the table data gets reloaded. It doesn't crash when I remove all case instances except case 0: What could be the reason behind it?     Hi, In asp.net multilingual website in english Uk and swedish, i have three rsources file 1. en-GB.resx 2. sv-SE.resx 3. Culture neutral file. I have create one base class and all pages is inherited from that class. There i write following lines to set UICULTURE and culture 1. Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture = CultureInfo.CurrentUICulture.Name; 2. Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture = CultureInfo.CurrentCulture.Name; Question: Suppose my browser language is Swedish(sv-SE) then this code will run because it find CurrentUICulture and CurrentCulture values as sv-SE. Now if suppose browser language is Swedish(sv) only, in that case values will be set as CurrentUICulture = sv; and CurrentCulture = sv-SE Now the problem is that user can able to view all text in Culture neutral resource file that i kept as english while all decimal saperators, currency and other will be appear in swedish. It looks confusing to usr. What would be right approach. I am thinking following solution. Please correct me? 1. i can create extra resource file for sv also. 2. I check value of CurrentUICulture in base class and if it is sv then replace it with sv-SE Please correct me which one is right approach or Is there any other good way of doing?

  • UIScrollView + UIWebView = NO scrollsToTop

    It looks like a problem which could have simple solution, but I haven't found anything what could lead the way to it. I'm using UIWebView inside of UIScrollView and tapping on statusBar (to scroll content to top) is not working. I've made simple test application to see if it's really UIWebViews fault. And it really is. // scrolls to top on status bar tap UIScrollView *sv = [[UIScrollView alloc] init]; sv.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 480); sv.contentSize = CGSizeMake(320, 1200); [self.view addSubview:sv]; // doesn't scroll UIScrollView *sv = [[UIScrollView alloc] init]; sv.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 480); sv.contentSize = CGSizeMake(320, 1200); UIWebView *wv = [[UIWebView alloc] init]; wv.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 100); [sv addSubview:wv]; [self.view addSubview:sv]; So, I think maybe there's something I could disable to make UIWebView not to mess with scrollToTop?   • The body gets displaced (and part of the content disappears) on ie7

    I have been searching for a way to fix this problem for a while now. It seems something could be wrong on the javascript, or maybe it has something to do with the positioning. This page http://www.medspilates.cl/ works fine on FF, on Chrome, on Safari and on IE8, but on ie7 it doesnt, the body gets displaced to the right and the main content disappears, it's also happening on ie6 (it didnt but now it does).     I'm parsing my nginx logs, and I want to discover some details from the HTTP_REFERER string, for example, the query string used to find the web site. One user typed in "México" which gets encoded in the log as "query=M%E9xico". Passing this through Rack::Utils.parse_query('query=M%E9xico') you get a hash, {"query" = "M?xico"} When you to stuff "M?exico" into Postgres (but not the more forgiving SQLite), it pukes because the string isn't proper UTF-8. Looking at http://rack.rubyforge.org/doc/Rack/Utils.html#M000324, unescape is packing a hex string. How can I convert the string back to UTF-8, or can I get parse_query to return UTF-8 in the first place.

    When Bing map control loads for first time on any browser all pushpin on map are visible. Bing map control renders perfectly. Then I refresh browser it create rendering issue some custom pushpin on map gets disappeared. This behavior continues with pushpin. Pushpin are (.png) images and I am not using default bing map thumbtacks. May be it is issue of browser caching content or Bing map control rendering issues on various browsers. However, when the while-loop gets stepped into, it won't break out of the loop when everything has been printed to the console and there is nothing else to read.   • Simple MySQL Query taking 45 seconds (Gets a record and its "latest" child record)

    I have a query which gets a customer and the latest transaction for that customer. Currently this query takes over 45 seconds for 1000 records. This is especially problematic because the script itself may need to be executed as frequently as once per minute! I believe using subqueries may be the answer, but I've had trouble constructing it to actually give me the results I need. SELECT customer.CustID, customer.leadid, customer.Email, customer.FirstName, customer.LastName, transaction.*, MAX(transaction.TransDate) AS LastTransDate FROM customer INNER JOIN transaction ON transaction.CustID = customer.CustID WHERE customer.Email = '".$email."'   • Bottom of page gets cut off in Safari

    I can't figure out why this page: http://wohf.squarespace.com/newsletter/ gets cut off at the bottom in safari, seems to work fine in all other browsers (as far as I found so far)!! I am using some jquery and css for the sidebar and the content to match heights and for the canvas to run top to bottom with the footer always at the very bottom of the page. everything is working (as far as I can tell so far) on the rest of the site, the problem is only on this newsletter page and only in safari. Can anyone see the problem?

  • jQuery - want to get input value for submit but it gets one and repeats

    I'm trying to replace all submit buttons with a span so cufon will work. The input still needs to be there so have done some css to hide it and overlay to span on top. My issue is getting the value from the input tag is proving quite diffcult. The code below gets the first input value (being 'search' from the search box at the top of the page, and then puts that value into all the spans, even for buttons that have different values (eg: send). This is a .NET page so the whole page is wrapped in one form tag.   • GMap in iframe gets off-center

    I have a Google Map (API 2) that used to work fine as a standalone page. However, when I load the map page within an iframe (with Thickbox), the map gets off-center: normally it's centered over Germany and in the iframe it centers on Iran, instead. How to make the map center correctly? My guesses: The problem can result from the iframe loading time. I guess, that the script calculates window size basing on the iframe size when it's still loading. It's strange since I load the map when the document is ready. $(document).ready(function() { setupSearchForm(); setupMap(); setupResults(); }); For instance, when I refresh the already loaded iframe the center comes back to Germany.   • WebKit gets blank when clicking on the menu toolbar

    Hi y'all. I've embebed a WebKit view into a modal dialog using Carbon and appereantly everything works fine. However there's a little problem. When I click on the menu toolbar the view gets completely blank getting visible only when I interact with it. Seems like the control stops reciving the 'paint window' event when I call MenuSelect function. All the events are managed by the parent window because of the nature of the application (videogame). Does anybody know what this behaviour is due to and how can I avoid it? Thanks for all.

  • Image gets slightly erased on SWT/Windows

    I have an Eclipse plugin which includes a view. The view has several icons in the toolbar. I'm experiencing a very strange problem: on Windows, in some occasions (after prolonged use), one of the icons gets slightly erased. This does not happen on other platforms. This looks like a memory leak or some other resource misuse, but I just can't figure out where. The rest of the icons, which are initialized and used in the exact same manner are not affected. I tried working with Sleak, but I really don't see anything out of the ordinary. Any help would be appreciated.

  • visual studio 2008 keyboard gets locked when editing source controlled files

    Hi, I am facing a strange issue with editing source controlled files (especially aspx files) using visual studio 2008. when I check out and edit the file, I can edit fine for few seconds and after that keyboard gets locked and I can't type anything (it doesn't affect the files not added to source control). as soon it is locked, if I try to type, the focus shifts to solution explorer and other windows and sometimes it freezes and doesn't respond at all. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling visual studio, reinstalling the source control plug-in. none of it worked. not sure if it is my machine or my profile. Please help if you have any clues. I can't see any other solution for this except rebuilding the machine Thanks, Rama
