• ASP.NET:Integrating many pages to one using jQuery UI dialog

  I have a four ASP.NET pages,Page 1.aspx,Page2.aspx,page3.aspx and page4.aspx.Normally the user will come to Page1 and then enter his data in the form elements.On clicking on the Go button Page 2 will come and so on up to page 4.Now i want to Integrate all of these items to A single page using jQuery LightBox/UI dialog modal popup.In my all pages i have server side code to do some Business logic.So I tried to Put the contents of page 2 in a panel and put it in the UI modal dialog and placed in page 1 and invoke the UI dialog from page 1 's button click.But my problem is I am not sure when i click on the button of the panel which is placed in the UI dialog, will trigger the server side code .I had some problems when i tried it earlier http://stackoverflow.com/questions/876660/asp-net-with-jqueryui-text-box-value-is-getting-as-null-in-button-click-event Please advice Thanks in advance

  Hello, I have a probleme with jquery.ui.autocomplete 1.8 rc2 in IE7 or IE8 with the following CSS (inside jquery.ui.autocomplete.css) : .ui-menu { list-style:none; padding: 2px; margin: 0;display:block; height:200px; overflow:scroll; } I'm using the demo from the project called : demos\autocomplete\remote-jsonp.html It's working perfect with firefox but with IE7 or 8, each time I click on the scroll bar to see the end of the list, it selects an element instead of scrolling down. Do you please have a solution to have a fixed height with jquery.ui.autocomplete and a scroll bar working with IE ? Thank you very much

  Ok, I'm having a slight bit of confusion writing my own jQuery UI widget plugins. The problem lies in the destroy function. In the docs, it says to put the default destroy first then write other things particular to the widget after it. $.Widget.prototype.destroy.apply(this, arguments); // default destroy // now do other stuff particular to this widget See http://jqueryui.com/docs/Developer_Guide However in their example scripts (those being the actual pluings for jQuery Ui released code, does it the opposite. The $.Widget.prototype.destroy.apply(this, arguments); is at the end of the function. See http://dev.jqueryui.com/browser/trunk/ui/jquery.ui.progressbar.js (and all of the other built in widgets as well) So which is it? The way the current widgets are written, or by the explanation in the code comment in the Developer_Guide?

  We are developing a rather large WPF based application and would like to include some automated UI testing in our test suite (which already contains a number of unit tests). The UI Automation Framework from Microsoft partly sounds like a perfect fit for programatically launching and interacting with the application in a test setup. However, I've struggled to find solid references for samples and experiences with the technology, the articles and small samples available on MSDN is not enough to convince me that it is a solid choice. So, does anybody have real world experiences using the UI Automation Framework in their test suite? What are the caveats and the gotchas? Any best practices when written tests scripts, can you "record and replay" to a scriptable format, how much should you facilitate the testing from the application, how did you incorporate it in the automatic build? Should we be looking in another direction than the UI Automation Framework? Feel free to post you experiences here or link to some good references I might have missed

I cannot find this in the documentation and looping through the properties is no help. $('#content_td_account').selectable({ filter: 'li:not(".non_draggable")', selecting: function(event, ui) { } }); Specifically I want to find what elements are being selected and check them to see if their parent elements are the same or not.   I am having trouble displaying the jQuery datepicker as shown here: http://jqueryui.com/demos/datepicker/ I believe I downloaded all of the proper files, but to be certain, I started from scratch and ripped the demo site. Not all of it, but what I believed to be the important parts. The result is no datepicker to be shown and no javascript errors. If i click on "tab "1 the selected index returned is correct. But when click on tabs in the second level ("tab 1-xx") the event is fired too. I want to resctriced the bind('tabsselect', function(event, ui) on the first level of tab (tab x). How can i do that ? Thanks

  Hi, I'm trying to get the jQuery UI sortable plugin to work and I've created a list that looks like this: <ul id="sortable"> <li>Item 1</li> <li>Item 2</li> <li>Item 3</li> <li>Item 4</li> <li>Item 5</li> </ul> And I've included the plugin script files: $(function() { $("#sortable").sortable(); alert('test'); $("#sortable").disableSelection(); }); So I just tried putting the alert box before .sortable is run and the alertbox is showing. But putting it after .sortable isn't working. Which means that .sortable is failing right? I've included the scripts and put them in the head of the html document. <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.ui.core.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.ui.mouse.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.ui.sortable.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.ui.widget.min.js"></script> Which is correct right? And the function that actually runs .sortable is in a merged js file along with all other js snippets and plugins.

There are a few mashups of the two, including jQuery Bootstrap by John Seigers and jQuery UI Bootstrap by Addy Osmani. Are those mashups still necessary with the new version of Bootstrap, or can you now just use Bootstrap and jQuery UI out of the box (as is alluded to vaguely in the github discussion)?

  I would like to create a custom version of the sortable widget. I have been searching for documentation, but could not find something really accurate. The best information I found was : http://jqueryui.pbworks.com/Widget-factory. I tried : $.widget("ui.customsortable", $.extend($.ui.sortable, { _init: function() { $.widget.prototype._init.apply(this, arguments); } })); But $.widget.prototype._init is not the function I want to call I guess since it is the $.widget prototype. Then, I tried something I read here and there : var _init = $.ui.sortable.prototype._init; $.widget("ui.customsortable", $.extend($.ui.sortable, { _init: function() { _init.apply(this, arguments); }, })); But : I can't believe I have to store all methods I want to override like this, it is so ugly. It throws an error ("this.refresh is not a function"), which means the refresh method does not exist. Does that mean I would have to recreate all methods I want to override ? What's the point of extending in that case ? Am I missing something here ? Thanks for your help !

  I have this code on my system, and it works very well in all "real browsers", but now I need put this working on IE10. Because this development is inside a CMS I can't do upgrade on Jquery or UI. The $ version is 1.3.2 an UI version is 1.7.3. In IE I don't receive any message of error. And the Items with a class = "container myDevelopment" aren't sortables. • Is it possible to use RubyGnome2's/QtRuby's HTML renderers to make UI for a Ruby script?

  I'd like to make a graphical user interface for my script, instead of running it from the console. I'm aware there's a wealth of UI libraries for Ruby, but I'm quite familiar with HTML and CSS and I'd like to use them for building an interface. So the question is: Is it possible to use a HTML rendering library to make such an UI? From what I understand, it's relatively easy to put in a HTML rendered view of something, but is it possible to communicate back with the script? Like when I push that big red button, it actually tells the script to act on it? Obviously it's possible if the script run on the server side, but I'd like to run it as a desktop application.

• Psuedo-Backwards Builder Pattern?

  In a legacy codebase I have a very large class with far too many fields/responsibilities. Imagine this is a Pizza object. It has highly granular fields like: hasPepperoni hasSausage hasBellPeppers I know that when these three fields are true, we have a Supreme pizza. However, this class is not open for extension or change, so I can't add a PizzaType, or isSupreme(), etc. Folks throughout the codebase duplicate the same "if(a && b && c) then isSupreme)" logic all over place. This issue comes up for quite a few concepts, so I'm looking for a way to deconstruct this object into many subobjects, e.g. a pseudo-backwards Builder Pattern. PizzaType pizzaType = PizzaUnbuilder.buildPizzaType(Pizza); //PizzaType.SUPREME Dough dough = PizzaUnbuilder.buildDough(Pizza); Is this the right approach? Is there a pattern for this already? Now personally I'm not fond of its interface which I find very messy, and I found almost no one talking about CDash -- I love CMake and CTest seem nice too. Could you give for each continuous integration server/builder/tester/dashboard a short description of its strong and weak decision points. • Design view disappeared from Interface Builder

  All of a sudden, the visual design window disappeared from my Interface Builder. It is a regular UIView, has some UIImageView, UILabel, and UIButtons on it. When I open IB, I can see the document window (with File's Owner, First Responder and View in it), Library and Inspector, but the visual design window disappeared. Double click on "View" in the document window doesn't do anything. If I go to List mode, I can see all the components on the view, but just can no longer find the visual design window. All other XIB can open just fine, only this XIB lost its design window. First I thought maybe it was hidden somewhere on the screen. Tried all kinds of things, even rebooting the computer, but nothing helped. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance! By the way, I'm running SDK 3.2 Beta 3.

• C builder RAD 2010 RTL/VCL Application->Terminate() Function NOT TERMINATING THE APPLICATION

  Hello, I have problem descriebed also here: http://www.delphigroups.info/3/9/106748.html I have tryed almost all forms of placing Application-Terminate() func everywhere in the code, following and not 'return 0', 'ExitProcess(0)', 'ExitThread(0)', exit(0). None working variant closes the app. Instead the code after Application-Terminate() statement is running. I have two or more threads in the app. I tryed calling terminate func in created after execution threads and in main thread. Also this is not related (as i can imagine) with CodeGuard / madExcept (i have turned it off and on, no effect). CodeGuard turning also did not do success. What i should do to terminate all the threads in c builder 2010 application and then terminate the process? Thank you.
