The method I'm trying to override is stop() method. I didn't write a single line of code, my movie clip is created using entirely the flash interface. I figured out how to add actions to the movie clip when a frame is reached but I'm stucked now when I'm trying to override a MovieClip method.

  Hi Everyone, I am hoping someone can help me with a question i have relating to Basic HTTP Authentication in an Xcode 2.3 application. Basically i have a PHP page that is on our server and when called with certain parameters returns data relating to the servers condition etc. i have managed to get a small Xcode application working where by it reads the data from the page and populates an NSTextView with the data. however to make sure this information stays safe i have setup basic HTTP Authentication on the page, but i cannot work out how to provide the username and password in XCode. here is my code to retrieve the page. • My C# and DLL Data Woes

  Hey guys, I'm a very beginner C# coder. So, if I get some of the terms incorrect, please be easy on me. I'm trying to see if it is possible to pull data from a DLL. I did some research and found that you can store application resources within a DLL. What I couldn't find, was the information to tell me how to do that. There is a MS article that explains how to access resources within a satellite DLL, but I honestly don't know if that is what I'm looking for. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms165653.aspx I did try some of the codes involved, but there are some "FileNotFoundExceptions" going on. The rest of the DLL information is showing up: classes, objects, etc. I just added the DLL as a resource in my Visual Studio Project and added it with "using".   Why not using array of errors instead of throwing errors and check if it's not empty later in the code.... Exception handling is very confusing to me , I can not understand it's purpose ... can anybody enlighten me !? they compare it with die() as better not to stop the execution of the code , why would I stop the execution of code if I don't want to !? ofcourse I do I'm a beginner programmer , it might be confusing to you as well , or because i'm not very experienced in this ugly thing.   I am a total beginner with python. I need help updating the score of a card game. The scoring works as follows: Player A or B has a pair: score += 1 Player A asks Player B (vice versa) for a card and that player has it: score += 1 Player B doesn't have it, Player A has to draw a card. If there is pair after draw: score += 2 I have the logic down but I don't really know how to connect it together. I tried manually adding the scores in my functions, but it get's messy and complicated :( I assume I would have to make a new function for the score and call them in my other functions? I would appreciate the guidance, Thank-you!

• python-pam & pam_time module -- possible to check a user without password?

  I'm trying to create a forgotten password form that emails users their password. I'm having a problem, though, with the actual password part. You see, I have the email and comparing the email correct, except whenever I send the email I always get either "Your password is ." or "Your password is Array".   What is the best resource for serious Commodore 64 programming? Assume that serious programming on the Commodore 64 is not done in BASIC V2 that ships with the Commodore 64. I feel like most of the knowledge is tied up in old books and not available on the internet. All that I have found online are either very beginner style introductions to Commodore 64 programming (Hello world), or arcane demo-coder hacks to take advantage of strange parts of the hardware. I haven't found a well-explained list of opcodes, memory locations for system calls, and general mid-level examples and tips.   Anyone want to take a stab at why this bookmarklet fails in IE8? It turns all text uppercase in Friefox and Safari. But in IE8, it simply stalls with "loading..."   Hi, I've got a script that changes the background colour of text that has been selected. However i'm encountering an issue when the text is selected across multiple elements/tags. The code that i've got is: var text = window.getSelection().getRangeAt(0); var colour = document.createElement("hlight"); colour.style.backgroundColor = "Yellow"; text.surroundContents(colour); And the error being output is: Error: The boundary-points of a range does not meet specific requirements. = NS_ERROR_DOM_RANGE_BAD_BOUNDARYPOINTS_ERR Line: 7 I believe this is to do with the getRange() function though i'm not too sure how to proceed since I am a beginner at javascript. • Tracking graphics tablet input in C#

  I'm writing an XNA application with C#, and I want to be able to control the application with a graphics tablet. All I need to be able to do is track the position and pressure of the pen on the tablet, it would be nice to have some built in gesture recognition but I'm willing to build that myself if needed. My first attempt at this was to use the vbtablet library. However, when I sent this to a friend it failed to work. It seems that the underlying technology is quite old and not supported by some tablets. My second attempt is to play with the Microsoft.Ink system. This looks promising, but I know very little about this subject and I'm struggling to make it work properly - for example I can't find how to read the raw tablet input and disable mouse pointer mode on the tablet when using an InkOverlay. What's the best system to use and what good documentation is there for a beginner in this field?

• Extending DOMDocument and DOMNode: problem with return object

  I'm trying to extend the DOMDocument class so as to make XPath selections easier. I wrote this piece of code: class myDOMDocument extends DOMDocument { function selectNodes($xpath){ $oxpath = new DOMXPath($this); return $oxpath->query($xpath); } function selectSingleNode($xpath){ return $this->selectNodes($xpath)->item(0); } } These methods return a DOMNodeList and a DOMNode object, respectively. What I'd like to do now is to implement similar methods to the DOMNode objects. But obviously if I write a class (myDOMNode) that extends DOMNode, I won't be able to use these two extra methods on the nodes returned by myDOMDocument because they're DOMNode (and not myDOMNode) objects. I'm rather a beginner in object programming, I've tried various ideas but they all lead to a dead-end. Any hints? Thanks a lot in advance.

I have this in my Animal.cs clas private string _animalName; public string AnimalName { get { return _animalName; } set { if(_animalName!= value) { _animalName= value; this.NotifyPropertyChanged("AnimalName"); } } } I could also write: public string AnimalName {get;set;} There is no difference in binding and validation. Everythings works as before when I exchange the code. Is this due to the fact that I only create new animals but I do not allow to update the animals name in my application ? So I need to call the propertyChanged("AnimalName"); only when I want to change its property value? I am a c# beginner ;)
