  • Defining the hash of an object as the sum of hashes of its members

    I have a class that represents undirected edges in a graph. Every edge has two members vertex1 and vertex2 representing the vertices it connects. The problem is, that an edge can be specified two directions. My idea was now to define the hash of an edge as the sum of the hashes of its vertices. This way, the direction plays no role anymore, the hash would be the same. Are there any pitfalls with that?

    I have the following: function Preferences() { } Preferences.players = { 'player1': new Player() } players is a static member variable of Preferences and I'm trying to make it an object containing an instance of a Player. However, it doesn't appear to let me do this. It seems like it will allow me to define players if I make it a non-static member variable however. Like so: function Preferences() { var players = { 'player1' : new Player() } } Is it possible to create a static member variable containing instances of an object in JS?

I've been given a class declaration in a header file eg. #ifndef file_H #define file_H class ex{ private: public: }; #endif and I've been required to write the method definitions in the same file, which I have done, my question is does the "#endif" stay where it is just after the class declaration or does it go at the end of my file after the class method definitions?.

Why is it that in the .cpp file, you might define the functions as COMPANY::SOMECLASS::someFunction() {} But in main, you don't do int main() { COMPANY::SOMECLASS::someFunction(); } but instead you declare the namespace and do something like: using COMPANY::SOMECLASS; int main() { someFunction(); }

    I have an application containing a variety of view controllers linked together in different ways (Welcome Browse Preview OR Browse Preview OR Settings Splash). The first view controller is presented modally using a navigation controller from a main controller, then the next set of view controllers are added using pop and push. This works correctly, but I need to be able to define my 'UINavigationBar' and 'UIToolbar' within interface builder, so they still work as expected if they are presented without using a navigation controller.     I'm using VS2010 I have a project with several headers and one file with the main() function. For testing purposes I'd like to be able to easily another main() function that would instanciate different things than my original main. Is there an easy way to define 2 "main" function, and easily switch between them? The best would be to compile 2 binaries, one that starts at main1() and the other at main2(), or it can be a solution that requires to recompile some files, it doesn't matter

  • Can Visual Studio manage function prototypes for me in C++ header files?

    In C++, the common practice is to declare functions in header files and define them in cpp files. This leads to always having two copies of every function's prototype. Then whenever I want to change a function's name/return value/parameter, I have to manually change it in both files. This seems unnecessarily tedious and there must be lots of people that share my pain, so is there a way to automate these changes between files in VS? Bonus points for vim solutions as well.
