  • How to use the same template for different query sets?

    - by knuckfubuck
    I'm new to Django and setting up my first site. I have a Share model and a template called share_list.html that uses an object_list like this: {% for object in object_list %} I setup haystack using their tutorial and the search template looks like this: {% for result in page.object_list %} I would like to modify the search.html template to have an include of the share_list so I don't have to repeat myself. How can I make it use the same object_list?

  • if string is alphabetically greater than other string in objective

    - by Jonathan
    I'm trying to use an if statement to work out which of 2 strings comes first alphabetically. Like with numbers and greater and less than: if (1 < 2) { just with strings: if(@"ahello" < @"bhello") { Or would I have to have a string containing all the letters and then check the index of the first char in each string and see which index is greater, and the index that is less than the other comes first in the alphabet and then if they are equal move on to the next char and repeat?

  • CSS Graph- Bars not showing correctly

    - by Olivia
    I'm trying to create a CSS/HTML based graph using this tutorial here. However instead of putting the data directly into the html code I'm importing it from a CSV file using PHP with the following code. <?PHP /* Open CSV file */ $handle = fopen("defects.csv", "r"); $c = 0; /* gets data from csv file */ while (($data = fgetcsv($handle, 1000, ",")) !== FALSE) { /* stores dates as variable $date */ $date[$c] = $data[0]; $c++; /* inserts defect data into html code */ echo "<dd class=\"p" . $data[2] . "\"><span><b>" . $data[2] . "</b></span></dd>"; echo "<dd class=\"sub p" . $data[3] . "\" ><span><b>" . $data[3] . "</b></span></dd>"; } echo "</dl>"; echo "<ul class=\"xAxis\">"; /* X AXIS */ /* inserts date data into html code for x axis */ for ($d=0; $d < $c; $d++) { echo "<li>" . $date[$d] . "</li>"; } ?> The values are being placed correctly on the chart, but the bars aren't appearing. The CSS code I have for the bars is: /* default column styling */ dl#csschart span{ height:50%; background:url(../images/barx.png) repeat-y; } dl#csschart .sub{ margin-left:-33px; } dl#csschart .sub span{ background:url(../images/subBarx.png) repeat-y; } Just in case it helps, I've print screened how the graph should look. You can see it at: http://allured.info/graph/failgraph.png

  • ASP.NET Repeater Control Not Working in FireFox

    - by Robert Hyland
    everyone: I have an ASP.NET Application that uses a Repeater control to display a thumbnail gallery. When the user mouses over one of the thumbnails, the main image will present that thumbnail. It uses a Repeater control in a UserControl like this: <asp:Image ID="pictureImage" runat="server" Visible="true" Width="200px" /> <asp:Repeater ID="rpProductImages" runat="server" Visible="false"> <ItemTemplate> <div> <div style="float: left" id="smallImage" runat="server"> <div class="smallAltImage" onmouseover="showImage();" style="border: 1px solid #999999; margin: 5px 5px 5px 4px; width: 45px; height: 45px; background-position: center; background-repeat: no-repeat; background-image: url('<%#ResolveClientUrl(productImagesPath)%><%# String.Format("{0}", DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "ImageName")) %>');"> </div> <asp:Label ID="lblImageName" runat="server" Visible="false"><%# Eval("ImageName")%></asp:Label> </div> </div> </ItemTemplate> </asp:Repeater> Then, in a javascript file, this: function showImage(){ // Get thumbnail path. var img = (this.style.backgroundImage).substring(4, (this.style.backgroundImage).length - 1); $('#ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_ProductDetails1_pictureImage').attr('src', img); } It works fine in IE9, displaying the fully-qualified path for the image. In FireFox8, however, the img src looks like this: ""ProductImages/K42JY_500.jpg"" ... with two-sets of quotes! I think that the Repeater control is the central cause of the problem but I Googled and Googled again and could not find anyone that has experienced this similar situation! In fact, I'll PayPal anyone who can help me solve this with $50.00 (can't you tell I'm in the XMAS spirit, here?!) Any help is appreciated and "Thank You" in advance!

  • Approaching Java from a Ruby perspective

    - by Travis
    There are plenty of resources available to a Java developer for getting a jump-start into Ruby/Rails development. The reverse doesn't appear to be true. What resources would you suggest for getting up-to-date on the current state of java technologies? How about learning how to approach DRY (don't repeat yourself) without the use of metaprogramming? Or how to approach various scenarios where a ruby developer is used to passing in a function (proc/lambda/block) as an argument (callbacks, etc)?

  • WHERE vs HAVING

    - by baloo
    Why is it that you need to place columns you create yourself (for example "select 1 as number") after HAVING and not WHERE in MySQL? And are there any downsides instead of doing "WHERE 1" (writing the whole definition instead of a column name)

  • C++0x thread interruption

    - by Nicola Bonelli
    According to the C++0x final draft, there's no way to request a thread to terminate. That said, if required we need to implement a do-it-yourself solution. In your opinion, what's the best solution? Designing your own cooperative 'interruption mechanism' or going native?

  • Define Javascript slider hit/rollover area

    - by Rob
    Hey, Im having an issue defining the hit area for a javascript sliding element. See example: http://www.warface.co.uk/clients/warface.co.uk/ Please slide over the grey box on the right side to reveal the button, although this works I would only like for the slider to only be triggered by rolling over the red block. CSS .slidingtwitter { /* -- This is the hit area -- */ background: #ccc; width:255px; height:55px; overflow: hidden; top:50%; right: 0px; /* -- This is the sliding start point -- */ position: fixed; font-family: Gotham, Sans-Serif; z-index: 50; } .slidingtwitter.right { right:0px; } .slidingtwitter .caption { /* -- This is the sliding area -- */ background: #fff; position: absolute; width:260px; height:55px; right: -205px; /* -- This is the sliding start point -- */ } .slidingtwitter a { color: #484848; font-size: 20px; text-transform: uppercase; } .slidingtwitter a:hover { color: black; } .slidingtwitter .smaller { font-size: 12px; font-family: Gotham Medium; } .twitterblock { background: #f35555 url("styles/images/button_twitter.png") no-repeat 14px 15px ; width:35px; height:35px; padding:10px; float:left; display:block; } .slidingtwitter .followme { background: url("styles/images/button_arrowheadthin.jpg")no-repeat right 0; height:35px; display:block; float:left; line-height:14px; width:140px; margin:10px 0px 0px 14px; padding-top:6px; padding-right: 40px; } JS $('.slidingtwitter').hover(function(){ $(".slide", this).stop().animate({right:'0px'},{queue:false,duration:400}); //Position on rollover },function() { $(".slide", this).stop().animate({right:'-205px'},{queue:false,duration:400}); //Position on rollout }); Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

  • Better alternative to autonumber primary keys

    - by Comrad_Durandal
    I am looking for a better primary key than the autonumber data type, namely for the reason that it's limited to a long integer, when I really just need the field to reflect a number or text string that will never ever repeat, no matter HOW many records are added or deleted from the table. The problem is I am not sure how to implement something like turning the current date and time into a hexadecimal string and using that as a unique field I can use as a primary key. Am I just being too paranoid about running out of space?

  • vim regex for replacing spaces within quotes

    - by vikram-bhat
    I have text in the follwing format: ERR_OUT_OF_MEM, "ERR OUT OF MEM" ERR_SOMETHING_BAD, "ERR SOMETHING BAD" I want to replace all spaces in the text which are within quotes with underscores: ERR_OUT_OF_MEM, "ERR_OUT_OF_MEM" ERR_SOMETHING_BAD, "ERR_SOMETHING_BAD" The best regex I could come up with is: \("\w\+\)\@<= (there's a space at the end of that) but this only finds the first space in each quoted string, and I would need to repeat this multiple times to get the desired effect. Any way to do it in one shot? Thanks!
