jQuery - want to get input value for submit but it gets one and repeats

I'm trying to replace all submit buttons with a span so cufon will work. The input still needs to be there so have done some css to hide it and overlay to span on top. My issue is getting the value from the input tag is proving quite diffcult. The code below gets the first input value (being 'search' from the search box at the top of the page, and then puts that value into all the spans, even for buttons that have different values (eg: send). This is a .NET page so the whole page is wrapped in one form tag. Service Application too visible

Working on a service application in Delphi 5 that is intended to run on Windows XP - 7. Most of the application is coming together nicely, but I'm running into one issue. Part of this service application is a form that displays data occasionally (similar to the slider box Avast uses to let you know its updated). When the service shows the form, the form displays on the taskbar, but we don't want it to. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to hide the form's button on the taksbar? None of the standard methods I've found for regular applications have worked so far. Thanks.

Can't get ajax - loaded image's height and width via jquery.

For some reason, this image height and width are off, it's astohugh the image hasn't fully loaded. Can someone help me out please?

We have several applications that are installed in several departments that interact with database via Intranet. Users tend to use weak passwords or store login/password written on a shits of paper where everybody can see them. I'm worried about login/password leakage & want to minimize consequences. Minimizing database-server attack surface by hiding database-server from Intranet access would be a great idea also. I'm thinking about intermediary data access service method-based security. It seems more flexible than table-based or connection-based database-server one. This approach also allows to hide database-server from public Intranet. What kind of .net technologies and best practices would you suggest? Thank in you in advance!

What are some different solutions to wrapping access to functionality within a .NET MVC application? For example, I have six tabs that represent different areas of the application and within area 1, there is the ability to add, edit, upload, whatever. I need a central way to say: Build some dictionary of what the user can do Wrap tabs, buttons, links, etc, validate the user can access this piece of functionality and show/hide appropriately. I know I can restrict access to actions via action filters and roles, but what about from the UI? Any help would be appreciated. I am sure I am not the only one who has needed to do this, thanks!

iPhone: Add background button to view when UITableView has no cells

I have a UITableViewController, when there is no data to populate the UITableView, I want to add a button, which uses an image. So, rather than the user seeing a tableview with no records, they will see an image that says, "No records have been added, Tap to add one", then they click and we create a new one. I assumed I would just hide the UITableView, then create the button, but I never see the button. Hiding ListViewItem based on a filter

I want to hide some items based on a text filter in a ListView (WinForms). Basically the listview loads the items from a text file, and I don't want it to be read and/or written when the user searches the list. The search is done in a combobox's KeyDown event, but there is no "Visible" property of the ListViewItem. Is there any easy way to do this, WITHOUT re-reading the file? (as it is an XML file, and it could even contain thousands of items, it would be hard to search efficiently and even let the user use the application, as the search would take for minutes (mostly with the loading)).

I want my url to be like this: www.domain.com/p/myproduct But I also want to be able to retrieve the ID of the product, without accessing the database. I thought about having a URL like: www.domain.com/p/myproduct/1 But if I could hide the ID it would be better. So, how do I do it the simplest way? Animated gifs in QMovie

I'm displaying an animated gif in my application by creating a QLabel, and setting the movie as a QMovie. The problem I'm having is that when the gif is displayed, any part of the image that stays a constant color throughout the animation shows up as the background color. I hope I'm explaining that clearly. Making a window pop in and out of the edge of the screen

I'm trying to re-write an application I have for Windows in Objective-C for my Mac, and I want to be able to do something like Mac's hot corners. If I move my mouse to the left side of the screen it will make a window visible, if I move it outside of the window location the window will hide again. (window would be pushed up to the left side of screen). Does anyone know where I can find some demo code (or reference) on how to do this, or at least how to tell where the mouse is at, even if the current application is not on top. Flex: Rendering a bound TileList - when does it finish rendering?

Hi, I have an mx:TileList which is bound to an ArrayCollection. I have some code that displays a "Loading..." message before modifying the ArracyCollection and some code after that hides the loading message. For small data sets, it works fine. However, I noticed with an array size of about 50~ and larger, flex will hide my loading message before the TileList is finished rendering the new data and I'm left with a blank screen for an odd second. Is there an event I can listen to that is called after the TileList is finished re-rendering? Code looks something like this: loading_message.visible = true; for each (var x:Object in new_data) { tile_list_data.append(x); // bound to my_tile_list component } my_tile_list.validateNow(); loading_message.visible = false; In this example, loading_message appear, disappear, and then the flex app will lag before finally revealing the updated TileList. Any ideas? Thanks!

Entity data field validation and part data submission

I have an entity class that has 10 fields. I am using MS Validation Application block to mark all fields as mandatory (IsRequired). I am implementing a securiy feature in which during updation of the data, not all the fields in the entity class will have data. For example a few users can only view 5 fileds while others all 10 fields during updation on GUI I have the following options 1) Bring all the data for all the fields from the DB table and hide the ones not accessible to the users in GUI. I am concerned about the performance because everytime GUI will pull unncessary data. 2) Bring the data (e.g. only 5 fields) that are permissible for access/view by the user on GUI. During submit, validation block will throw exception because all fields are marked as IsRequired and only data for 5 fields are sent back to the server. I want to know if there are any other good approaches to solve problems like this. I am using .NET 3.5 Thanks.

I'm combining Tablesorter's 'disable headers using options' function and the 'trigger sortStart / sortEnd' function and have run into an issue.
