  • Why would JSP tags appear in HTML source code?

    I'm a front-end web developer at a company using Java on their server. As a front-end developer, I'm concerned with the HTML structure that the server produces, but I don't have control over anything our back-end team produces. Rather than ask someone on that team, I would like to gather knowledge from the Stackoverflow community so I can communicate intelligently with the back-end team. So, I am curious as to what would cause certain JSP tags to appear in the rendered HTML that is sent to the browser. We have tags in our HTML source such as: <flow:fileRef id="vfileColor" fileId="vfile.color"/> <flow:fileRef id="StyleDir" fileId="StyleDir"/> <flow:fileRef id="vfileStylesheet" fileId="vfile.stylesheet"/> I am more interested in knowing why these appear, not as much about what they do. Is there a server setting for Tomcat/Apache/etc. that would hide these tags from the browser? Any information would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

  • Need help making a div appear on the bottom of the screen while the rest of the divs scroll

    It's hard to describe my specific problem without just showing you the HTML code. The HTML source can be seen easily from clicking "View Source" while seeing the page http://techdot.us/projects/jeopardy/view.php. The CSS is located here: http://techdot.us/projects/jeopardy/style/gameStyle.css. My main goal is to have the main content table rows/columns appear on the majority of the screen (everything except 69px, to be exact). So, the bottom 69px contains an informational panel that is supposed to stay on the bottom of the screen, even when the user scrolls down the page. Scrolling is supposed to, in theory, trigger the majority of the content to go down the page normally, except the bottom bar which stays static. I have achieved this effect on the website. However, there is a big problem. On smaller screens (as you can simulate by resizing the window), some of the main table gets cut off. It seems that my CSS solution is a botch, and, in effect, does not accomplish my main goal. The bottom bar should not cut off part of the table from the main content div (gameTable), but the main content div should display all of its content in a scrollable fashion. My CSS at the moment works as long as the viewer's screen is a certain pixel height. This is definitely not permanent. Thank you SO much for the help. I really appreciate it and totally understand that I'm being a total pain by just throwing down tons of CSS and HTML code to edit.

He writes : I don’t have any need for namespaced content; I’m not displaying any complex mathematical notation here and don’t plan to, and I don’t use SVG for any images. So that’s one advantage of XHTML out the window. I also don’t have any need for XML tools; all the processing I need to do can be handled by HTML-parsing libraries like BeautifulSoup. That’s the other advantage gone. What does he mean by namespaced content and what advantage does it provide us ?

    Hi. In my Struts form I've got a list. In a JSP I iterate over it like this: <c:forEach items="${MyForm.auspraegungen}" var="auspraegung"> <tr> <td>${auspraegung.name}</td> <td>${auspraegung.forced}</td> <td>${auspraegung.cbx_uebernehmen}</td> <html:checkbox property="auspraegung.cbx_uebernehmen" /> </tr> </c:forEach> Now the <html:checkbox isn't working. I'm always getting the following error: Caused by: javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: No getter method for property auspraegung.cbx_uebernehmen of bean org.apache.struts.taglib.html.BEAN But actually there is a getter for this property in my form class. It's written like this: public Boolean getCbx_uebernehmen() { return cbx_uebernehmen; } When I remove the checkbox it's also possible to display the property as in the <td>-tag above so I don't know where the problem is. Maybe I'm accessing it in the wrong way?

  • Flash Builder 'building' html files...

    I'm using Flash Builder 3 to edit my Flex app, but I noticed that every time I make a change on the .html files (index.template.html for example), even if it's not in the IDE but with another program, Flash Builder rebuilds the whole project. Is there anyway to stop this? Why would it need to rebuild the workspace everytime a html file changes? If it was too long it wouldn't bother me, but it takes a lot of time (more than 1 minute) every time. For your information the html file is 95 lines of 'code'. Thanks

  • Does a large (hidden) submenu count towards site content in tems of determining page similarities?

    Basically, I have this site that recently lost a lot of traffic after I optimized the html, the exact reasons to which are uncertain. The graph of impressions (times a page appears on search listings) is continuously going down like an e^-x function. Because the content, previously occupying five pages of tables, now fits within a few paragraph tags, the menu now occupies about 80% of the live html code and I am starting to have doubts wherether this affects the "similar pages" factor that Google punishes. Questions: As far as I know, Google ignores invisible material and the submenus are only visible when hovered over. Has anything at all changed in this area? If I ajax in the submenus, leaving only the main eight menu items to load, will I be punished for "hiding" information? Is the idea worth testing or is it frankly retarded?

    I just started coding a year ago. By "coding" I mean HTML(5), CSS(3), and only a few times I implemented AJAX and JavaScript. I am interviewing for a position that expects me to know HTML, CSS, JS, JQuery, and AJAX. I am good with HTML5/CSS3 and somewhat ok with js. If I go for an interview, will they expect me to write code during the interview? I do have a live website as an example and snapshots of past projects that I sent to them. I am a little nervous, so any tips or something from your experience I can learn will be helpful.

    The title attribute is an HTML standard element available across most tags. e.g. <li><a title="Widgets listed by household function" href="/widgets/by-function.html">by Function</a></li> I've used this attribute on some sites for usability; many browsers pop up a "tooltip" over the link with the more detailed description of what is on the other side. I've been wondering if doing so is having a negative effect on my rankings (hidden text?) or if it has any effect at all on onsite or offsite keyword relevance calculations.     Hi, I'm teaching myself cocoa and enjoying the experience most of the time. I have been struggling all day with a simple problem that google has let me down on. I have read the Cocoa Bindings Program Topics and think I grok it but still can't solve my issue. I have a very simple class called MTSong that has various properties. I have used @synthesize to create getter/setters and can use KVC to change properties. i.e in my app controller the following works: mySong = [[MTSong alloc]init]; [mySong setValue:@"2" forKey:@"version"]; In case I am doing something noddy in my class code MTSong.h is: #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> @interface MTSong : NSObject { NSNumber *version; NSString *name; } @property(readwrite, assign) NSNumber *version; @property(readwrite, assign) NSString *name; @end and MTSong.m is: #import "MTSong.h" @implementation MTSong - (id)init { [super init]; return self; } - (void)dealloc { [super dealloc]; } @synthesize version; @synthesize name; @end In Interface Builder I have a label (NSTextField) that I want to update whenever I use KVC to change the version of the song. I do the following: Drag NSObjectController object into the doc window and in the Inspector-Attributes I set: Mode: Class Class Name: MTSong Add a key called version and another called name Go to Inspector-Bindings-Controller Content Bind To: File's Owner (Not sure this is right...) Model Key Path: version Select the cell of the label and go to Inspector Bind to: Object Controller Controller Key: mySong Model Key Path: version I have attempted changing the Model Key Path in step 2 to "mySong" which makes more sense but the compiler complains. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Scott Update Post Comments I wasn't exposing mySong property so have changed my AppController.h to be: #import <Cocoa/Cocoa.h> @class MTSong; @interface AppController : NSObject { IBOutlet NSButton *start; IBOutlet NSTextField *tf; MTSong *mySong; } -(IBAction)convertFile:(id)sender; @end I suspect File's owner was wrong as I am not using a document based application and I need to bind to the AppController, so step 2 is now: Go to Inspector-Bindings-Controller Content Bind To: App Controller Model Key Path: mySong I needed to change 3. to Select the cell of the label and go to Inspector Bind to: Object Controller Controller Key: selection Model Key Path: version All compiles and is playing nice!

I want a user to be able to type the URL mysite.com/about instead of mysite.com/about.html On .htaccess file I have: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^/(.*)$ /$1.html [NC,L] But this simply does not work?     i have 10.10, and have gotten ndiswrapper and the proper driver, it installed properly, but still my wi-fi isn't working. In terminal it say its disabled, but its enabled EVERYWHERE... even when I exited windows. Right now i'm left to use an Ethernet cord and a second computer... please help. My windows isn't in good condition and I would love to switch to Ubuntu... but wi-fi is definitely a need. When I run the same report from the Report Builder, it returns data.
