split video (avi/h264) on keyframe

Hallo. I have a big video file. ffmpeg, tcprobe and other tool say, it is an h264-stream in an AVI-container. Now i'd like to cut out small chunks form the video. Problem: The index of the video seam corrupted/destroyed. I kind of fixed this via mplayer -forceidx -saveidx <IndexFile> <BigVideoFile>. The Problem here is, that I'm now stuck with mplayer/mencoder which can use this index file via -loadidx <IndexFile>. I have tried correcting the index like described in man aviindex (mplayer -frames 0 -saveidx mpidx broken.avi ; aviindex -i mpidx -o tcindex ; avimerge -x tcindex -i broken.avi -o fixed.avi), but this didn't fix my video - meaning that most tools i've tested couldn't search in the video file. Problem: I sut out parts of the video via following command: mencoder -loadidx in.idx -ss 8578 -endpos 20 -oac faac -ovc x264 -sws 9 -lavfopts format=mp4 -x264encopts <LotsOfOpts> -of lavf -vf scale=800:-10,harddup in.avi -o out.mp4. Now here the problem is, that some videos are corrupted at the beginning. I think this is because the fact, that i do not necessarily cut at keyframe. Questions: What is the best way to fix the index of an avi "inline" so that every tool can again work as expected with it? How can i split at the keyframes? Is there an mencoder-option for this? Are Keyframes coming in a frequency? How to find out this frequency? (So with a bit of math it should be possible to calculate the next keyframe and cut there) Is ther perhaps some completely other way to split this movie? Doing it by hand is no option, i've to cut out 1000+ chunks ... Thanks a lot!

Generating %pc relative address of constant data

Is there a way to have gcc generate %pc relative addresses of constants? Even when the string appears in the text segment, arm-elf-gcc will generate a constant pointer to the data, load the address of the pointer via a %pc relative address and then dereference it. For a variety of reasons, I need to skip the middle step. Alright totally new to jeditable, Say I have some <div>'s and <input type='hidden' /> items that are generated dynamically with PHP like this: <?php while($row = $db->fetch_assoc($query)) : ?> <input name="hiddenID" type="hidden" value="<?php echo $row['id'] ?>" <div class="items"><?php echo $row['item']; ?></div> <?php endwhile; ?> Which gives me say...this: 1 //hidden value item1 2 //hidden value item2 3 //hidden value item3 And a jeditable inline-edit script to go along with it: hidden = $(".items").siblings("[name=hiddenID]").val(); //using a global var..don't know how to pass it into the editable function. $(".items").editable('save.php', { type : 'text', tooltip : 'Double-Click to edit...', onblur : 'submit', event : 'dblclick', submitdata : function() { return {id : hidden }; //how do I pass mutiple hiddenID values?? } }); I am wondering how to pass multiple values into the editable function. The way I've shown here only passes one value...the first row.

RMagic Error in rails, with AM Charts

Hi Everyone, I'm using AMCharts and rails. AMCharts uses the Image Magic lib to export an image of the chart. In rails this is done with the gem, RMagic. Advice moving from Eclipse to xCode

To xCode xPerts: I have been doing Java in Eclipse for about 9 years now and I have really gotten used to the power of the refactoring tools. There are a few operations I do all the time. I am looking for equivalents in xCode since it has better support for objective-c than eclipse. (I'm not at my Mac as I write this. So some of this is from memory. I am still very new to xCode.) 1 "rename". It seems that the xCode equivalent for variables is "edit all in scope". Does this work for files/classes/methods too? 2 "extract local variable" select an expression it creates a local var initialized to that expression. It even creates a usable name for the variable. 3 "extract method" select some code and it will create a method with that code and appropriate parameters/return value. 4 "inline" (variable or method) opposite of extract, inlines all or just the selected occurrence of the selected var or method. 5 "find next" occurrence of selected text. In eclipse I can select some text and hit ctrl-k to go to the next occurrence of that in the file. likewise shift-ctrl-k finds backwards. IIRC the xCode "find next" ignores the selection and only uses what is in the find box. 6 "change method signature" This would be very useful with ocjective-c's named parameter messaging syntax. This is great for adding parameters to a method. 7 "pull-up/push-down" for moving methods up or down the class hierarchy. 8 "move" for moving elements around to other classes etc. Those are the ones that I use all of the time. I have estimated that these tools cut my coding time in half. Are any of these supported in xCode? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Here's what it's coming out as: The correct blocks above the non-inline blocks are from a table with the same exact widths as the ones I'm using on the Divs. There isn't any CSS adding pixels to them, I don't think. vbCrLf in Multiline TextBox shows up only when .Trim() is called

I have an ASP TextBox with TextMode set to MultiLine. I'm having problems with preserving the vbCrLf characters when a user tries to put line breaks into the text. When a button on the page is pressed, I'm taking the text from the control, trimming it using String.Trim, and assigning that value to a String property on an object (which, in turn assigns it to a private internal String variable on the object). The object then takes the value from the private internal variable and throws it into the database using a stored procedure call (the SP parameter it is put into is an nvarchar(4000)). overriding enumeration base type using pragma or code change

Problem: I am using a big C/C++ code base which works on gcc & visual studio compilers where enum base type is by default 32-bit(integer type). This code also has lots of inline + embedded assembly which treats enum as integer type and enum data is used as 32-bit flags in many cases. When compiled this code with realview ARM RVCT 2.2 compiler, we started getting many issues since realview compiler decides enum base type automatically based on the value an enum is set to. http://www.keil.com/support/man/docs/armccref/armccref_Babjddhe.htm For example, Consider the below enum, enum Scale { TimesOne, //0 TimesTwo, //1 TimesFour, //2 TimesEight, //3 }; This enum is used as a 32-bit flag. but compiler optimizes it to unsigned char type for this enum. Using --enum_is_int compiler option is not a good solution for our case, since it converts all the enum's to 32-bit which will break interaction with any external code compiled without --enum_is_int. This is warning i found in RVCT compilers & Library guide, The --enum_is_int option is not recommended for general use and is not required for ISO-compatible source. Code compiled with this option is not compliant with the ABI for the ARM Architecture (base standard) [BSABI], and incorrect use might result in a failure at runtime. This option is not supported by the C++ libraries. Question How to convert all enum's base type (by hand-coded changes) to use 32-bit without affecting value ordering? enum Scale { TimesOne=0x00000000, TimesTwo, // 0x00000001 TimesFour, // 0x00000002 TimesEight, //0x00000003 }; I tried the above change. But compiler optimizes this also for our bad luck. :( There is some syntax in .NET like enum Scale: int Is this a ISO C++ standard and ARM compiler lacks it? There is no #pragma to control this enum in ARM RVCT 2.2 compiler. Is there any hidden pragma available ?

Saturated addition of two signed Java 'long' values

How can one add two long values (call them x and y) in Java so that if the result overflows then it is clamped to the range Long.MIN_VALUE..Long.MAX_VALUE? For adding ints one can perform the arithmetic in long precision and cast the result back to an int, e.g.: int saturatedAdd(int x, int y) { long sum = (long) x + (long) y; long clampedSum = Math.max((long) Integer.MIN_VALUE, Math.min(sum, (long) Integer.MAX_VALUE)); return (int) clampedSum; } or import com.google.common.primitives.Ints; int saturatedAdd(int x, int y) { long sum = (long) x + (long) y; return Ints.saturatedCast(sum); } but in the case of long there is no larger primitive type that can hold the intermediate (unclamped) sum. Since this is Java, I cannot use inline assembly (in particular SSE's saturated add instructions.) It can be implemented using BigInteger, e.g. static final BigInteger bigMin = BigInteger.valueOf(Long.MIN_VALUE); static final BigInteger bigMax = BigInteger.valueOf(Long.MAX_VALUE); long saturatedAdd(long x, long y) { BigInteger sum = BigInteger.valueOf(x).add(BigInteger.valueOf(y)); return bigMin.max(sum).min(bigMax).longValue(); } however performance is important so this method is not ideal (though useful for testing.) I don't know whether avoiding branching can significantly affect performance in Java. I assume it can, but I would like to benchmark methods both with and without branching. Prepopulating inlines based on the parent model in the Django Admin

I have two models, Event and Series, where each Event belongs to a Series. Most of the time, an Event's start_time is the same as its Series' default_time. Here's a stripped down version of the models. #models.py class Series(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=50) default_time = models.TimeField() class Event(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=50) date = models.DateField() start_time = models.TimeField() series = models.ForeignKey(Series) I use inlines in the admin application, so that I can edit all the Events for a Series at once. If a series has already been created, I want to prepopulate the start_time for each inline Event with the Series' default_time. So far, I have created a model admin form for Event, and used the initial option to prepopulate the time field with a fixed time. #admin.py ... import datetime class OEventInlineAdminForm(forms.ModelForm): start_time = forms.TimeField(initial=datetime.time(18,30,00)) class Meta: model = OEvent class EventInline(admin.TabularInline): form = EventInlineAdminForm model = Event class SeriesAdmin(admin.ModelAdmin): inlines = [EventInline,] I am not sure how to proceed from here. Is it possible to extend the code, so that the initial value for the start_time field is the Series' default_time?

javascript using 'this' in global object

What does 'this' keyword refer to when used in gloabl object? Let's say for instance we have: var SomeGlobalObject = { rendered: true, show: function() { /* I should use 'SomeGlobalObject.rendered' below, otherwise it won't work when called from event scope. But it works when called from timer scope!! How can this be? */ if(this.rendered) alert("hello"); } } Now if we call in an inline script in the HTML page: SomeGlobalObject.show(); window.setTimeout("Msg.show()", 1000); everything work ok. But if we do something like AppendEvent(window, 'load', Msg.show); we get an error because this.rendered is undefined when called from the event scope. Do you know why this happens? Could you explain then if there is another smarter way to do this without having to rewrite every time "SomeGlobalObject.someProperty" into the the SomeGlobalObject code? Thanks! Is there a workaround for JDBC w/liquibase and MySQL session variables & client side SQL instructions

Slowly building a starter changeSet xml file for one of three of my employer's primary schema's. The only show stopper has been incorporating the sizable library of MySQL stored procedures to be managed by liquibase. One sproc has been somewhat of a pain to deal with: The first few statements go like use TargetSchema; select "-- explanatory inline comment thats actually useful --" into vDummy; set @@session.sql_mode='TRADITIONAL' ; drop procedure if exists adm_delete_stats ; delimiter $$ create procedure adm_delete_stats( ...rest of sproc I cut out the use statement as its counter-productive, but real issue is the set @@session.sql_mode statement which causes an exception like liquibase.exception.MigrationFailedException: Migration failed for change set ./foobarSchema/sprocs/adm_delete_stats.xml::1293560556-151::dward_autogen dward: Reason: liquibase.exception.DatabaseException: Error executing SQL ... And then the delimiter statement is another stumbling block. Doing do dilligence research I found this rejected MySQL bug report here and this MySQL forum thread that goes a little bit more in depth to the problem here. Is there anyway I can use the sproc scripts that currently exist with Liquibase or would I have to re-write several hundred stored procedures? I've tried createProcedure, sqlFile, and sql liquibase tags without much luck as I think the core issue is that set, delimiter, and similar SQL commands are meant to be interpreted and acted upon by the client side interpreter before being delivered to the server.

Jquery Flexslider - can't see navigational images (manualControl)

I've spent a lot of time looking at the post on 3/13/12 re: manual controls, but isn't getting me all the way there...probably because I don't know jquery. Sorry, newbie on board. I'm trying to get the right/left arrows to show, as well as the 1, 2, 3...at the bottom. They are there, I see the lists on Firebug, just don't know how to add them to the "hook" (?) so they appear. Sub Menu Rollover Pop up Not Showing

Hello everyone, hopefully this will be an easy answer for some of you CSS veterans out there. I'm developing a site for a client. For readability, I'll just give you a link to the website and the css page in question. HTML CSS I'm trying to make a sub menu pop up to the right of the main menu when you scroll over "Star Quartz Grout." My current CSS obviously isn't correct though, and I could use some guidance. ul#subNav {display: none; width: 134px; } li:hover ul#subNav, li.over ul#subNav {display: inline-block; position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 134px; } My guess is that it's working but it's hidden behind the rest of the page. I could be wrong though. It's kind of hard to confirm, even with Chrome's "Inspect Element" (very nice thing btw). It's probably some dumb mistake. Anyway, thanks in advance. I'm a bit of a CSS novice.

DataTables - Remove DataTables from HTML Table created in different JavaScript File

So I have a site I visit everyday for work. The DataTables implementation on this site is atrocious. The DataTable is applied to an HTML table that is generated when the page is rendered and then the DataTable is initialized on it. I figured this is great because I can create a little TamperMonkey script to remove the horrible DataTable and create one that functions how I need it to. The DataTable is created via inline Javascript at the end of the document body. It does not appear to do anything. I think it is either because the table has not been Datatable initialized yet, or that I am not able to access the original DataTable initialization in a different scope. Any help is greatly appreciated as this has me banging my head on the desk.

CSS animated menu

I am trying to obtain something similar to the "share this on..." menu here but I don't quite understand how they are doing this, even after a look at their CSS. I refer to the fact that the images show up on hover. My first attempt would be something like <div id="share_on"> <ul> <li><a href="#"><img src="shareon-digg.png" /></a></li> <li><a href="#"><img src="shareon-reddit.png" /></a></li> ... <li><a href="#"><img src="shareon-stumbleupon.png" /></a></li> </ul> </div> and the CSS: #share_on {overflow: hidden} #share_on ul {margin-bottom: -16px} #share_on li {display: inline} #share_on li:hover {margin-top: -16px} Of course this does not work, which is why I am asking here. In the inactive state, only half of the icon shows up, which is the expected behaviour. But on hover, nothing changes. I also have tried some variations, like #share_on li:hover {margin-bottom: 16px} or #share_on li:hover {padding-bottom: 16px} but none of these works. Any ideas?

What is the best practice for ouputting data from a collection on an ASP.net Page?

I've ported a page from classic ASP to ASP.net. Part of what happens in this page is that a collection of custom types is generated and then displayed via Response.Write() commands. I'd like to get the business logic separated out into a code behind file (and maybe move this all into a user control), but I can't seem to figure out how I'd actually display the collection once it's been generated. I want to specify a master page here, too, so the code can't stay inline. Is there a difference between plain text emails, and multipart emails with only plain text?

I'm using Rails to send emails and I just want to send a plain text email (there is no corresponding HTML part). I've noticed that if I just have one file named email.text.plain.erb it actually generates a multipart email with one part (the plain text part) like this: Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary=mimepart_4c04a2d34c4bb_690a4e56b0362 --mimepart_4c04a2d34c4bb_690a4e56b0362 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: Quoted-printable Content-Disposition: inline text of the email here... --mimepart_4c04a2d34c4bb_690a4e56b0362-- But if I take out the text.plain part and name it email.erb ActionMailer generates a regular plain text email without multipart like this: Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 text of the email here... Both work fine most of the time (so this is kind of nitpicky), but I guess my question is whether the second one is more correct. My goal here is just to make sure deliverability is as high as possible across a wide variety of devices and email clients. I've read that plain text emails can have slightly better deliverability rates than html and was just curious if throwing in this multipart (even if it only contained a plain text part) might throw off some of the dumber email clients. Vote on Pros and Cons of Java HTML to XML cleaners

I am looking to allow HTML emails (and other HTML uploads) without letting in scripts and stuff. I plan to have a white list of safe tags and attributes as well as a whitelist of CSS tags and value regexes (to prevent automatic return receipt). I asked a question: Parse a badly formatted XML document (like an HTML file) I found there are many many ways to do this. Some systems have built in sanitizers (which I don't care so much about). This page is a very nice listing page but I get kinda lost http://java-source.net/open-source/html-parsers It is very important that the parsers never throw an exception. There should always be best guess results to the parse/clean. It is also very important that the result is valid XML that can be traversed in Java. I posted some product information and said Community Wiki. Please post any other product suggestions you like and say Community Wiki so they can be voted on. Also any comments or wiki edits on what part of a certain product is better and what is not would be greatly appreciated. (for example,, speed vs accuracy..) It seems that we will go with either jsoup (seems more active and up to date) or TagSoup (compatible with JDK4 and been around awhile). A +1 for any of these products would be if they could convert all style sheets into inline style on the elements.

How do you pass .net objects values around in F#?

I am currently learning F# and functional programming in general (from a C# background) and I have a question about using .net CLR objects during my processing. The best way to describe my problem will be to give an example: let xml = new XmlDocument() |> fun doc -> doc.Load("report.xml"); doc let xsl = new XslCompiledTransform() |> fun doc -> doc.Load("report.xsl"); doc let transformedXml = new MemoryStream() |> fun mem -> xsl.Transform(xml.CreateNavigator(), null, mem); mem This code transforms an XML document with an XSLT document using .net objects. Note XslCompiledTransform.Load works on an object, and returns void. Also the XslCompiledTransform.Transform requires a memorystream object and returns void. The above strategy used is to add the object at the end (the ; mem) to return a value and make functional programming work. When we want to do this one after another we have a function on each line with a return value at the end: let myFunc = new XmlDocument("doc") |> fun a -> a.Load("report.xml"); a |> fun a -> a.AppendChild(new XmlElement("Happy")); a Is there a more correct way (in terms of functional programming) to handle .net objects and objects that were created in a more OO environment? The way I returned the value at the end then had inline functions everywhere feels a bit like a hack and not the correct way to do this. Any help is greatly appreciated!

YUI: ensuring DOM elements and scripts are ready

If I put my inline script after the DOM elements it interacts with, should I still use YUI 3's domready event? I haven't noticed any problems, and it seems like I can count on the browser loading the page sequentially. (I already use YUI().use('node', ... to make sure the YUI functions I need have been loaded since the YUI script is a separate file.) Is there a way to speed up the loading of widgets like YUI 2's calendar? I load the appropriate script in <head> element of my page. I use YUI().use('yui2-calendar', ... to make sure the Calendar widget is available. Unfortunately, this causes a short but noticeable delay when I load my page with the calendar. If I omit the YUI().use('yui2-calendar', ... code then it shows up without a noticeable delay - but I guess this could cause the Calendar to not show up at all if the YUI script doesn't load in time? With regards to #2, is it possible to reduce the visual artifact of the calendar not being present and then showing up? I've made it slightly better by specifying a height and width for the parent div so that at least the space is already allocated = minimal shifting around when it does load.

TinyMCE Image Alignment

TinyMCE has always been a little difficult to align images. Either the align tag, or adding style="float: left;" has been it solution. Ideally I would just like to add class="left" or class="right" so that I can set the border and margins of the image. Up until now the only way to do this without using the advimage plugin was to insert the image, then select it, the select a style from the style menu. Ideally I should be able to use the align control in the image dialogue to set the alignment class or use the alignment controls on the toolbar when in the main editing window. I have just again started looking at a solution to this, now that IE6 is finally starting to die, I can use CSS attributes in selectors, so IMG[style="float: left;"] {} Works, but I would rather use a class incase there are any other style attributes which will cause the selector to fail. And it doesn't work in IE6, and you know some corporate clients will still be running the bloody thing! So I looked through the TinyMCE documentation and found the formats configuration option, that seems to allow you to specify how tinyMCE applies code for various operations. Here I can add the IMG tag as a selector, and have classes: "left" for the alignleft function. This applies the class correctly when the alignment is selected from the toolbar, but it still writes an inline style when the alignment is selected through the image dialogue. Am I doing something wrong or is there a better way of doing this that will allow my clients to select image alignment from both the image dialogue and the toolbar, whilst applying a class to the image?

Create a VPN with Python

I want to make a device "tunnel box" that you plug an input ethernet line, and an output ethernet line, and all the traffic that goes through it gets modified in a special way. This is similar to how a firewall, IDS, VPN, or similar boxes are connected inline in a network. I think you can just assume that I am writing a custom VPN in Python for the purpose of this question: LAN computer <--\ LAN computer <---> [LAN switch] <--> ["tunnel box"] <--> [internet modem] <--> LAN computer <--/ My question is, what is a good way to program this "tunnel box" from python? My application needs to see TCP flows at the network layer, not as individual ethernet frames. Non-TCP/IP traffic such as ICPM and other types should just be passed through. Example Twisted-like Code for my "tunnel box" tunnel appliance: from my_code import special_data_conversion_function class StreamInterceptor(twisted.Protocol): def dataReceived(self,data): data=special_data_conversion_function(data) self.outbound_connection.send(data) My initial guesses: TUN/TAP with twisted.pair.tuntap.py - Problem: This seems to only work at the ethernet frame level, not like my example? Socks proxy - Problem: Not transparent as in my diagram. Programs have to be specifically setup for it. Thanks!
