    I have a web service that is working fine in one environment but not in another. The web service gets document meta data from SharePoint, it running on a server where I cant debug but with logging I confirmed that the method enters and exits successfully. What could be the reason for the errors?   • How do I resolve the config error which states a machine to application error

    I imported a website made in visual studio express 2008 to visual studio express 2010. When I run the home page I get the following error: "It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS." When I looked up the meaning of this on Google I read their needed to be a change to the configuration of the virtual directory. Another suggestion was to change the web config files . T Were these suggestions correct? If so how do I emplement them so that I can view these website pages on my local machine.

    Hello everyone, I have what I suspect to be a logic problem with an algorithm I am using to work with Video timecode in PHP. All help is appreciated. The Objective Well basically I want to work with timecode and perform calculations For those not familiar with timecode it looks like this 01:10:58:12 or HH:MM:SS:FF 'AKA' HOURS:MINUTES:SECONDS:FRAMES I have used the script from HERE to help me with working with this format. The Problem Now can i just say that this script works!!! Timecode calculations (in this case additions) are being performed correctly. " Why to use: document.body.foo = 52; can result a memory leak -or in what conditions- so that I should use jQuery.data(document.body, 'foo', 52); Should I ALWAYS prefer .data() instead of using expandos in any case?     We are designing set of web services which will return XML string in response. These are RESTFul services so I will have to send exception inside element. I am planing to design set of Error code which can help me determine where level occured just by looking at the code. For Example 1000 - Application Level 2000 - DB level 3000 - Network level so if I have error message then I can know right away that this was an application level error and it came from 1st business module. Machine has Vista SP1 which means the MDAC installer will not work since MDAC 2.8 is already included. I know putting a ; at the end of Canvas::Canvas() is wrong but that seems to be what it expects. Could someone please clarify for me? (Also, I know much of the code for the << and operator definitions look terrible, but unless that is the specific reason for the error please do not address it. This is a draft :) )

  • Is there a way that I can force mod_perl to re-use buffer memory?

    Hi, I have a Perl script running in mod_perl that needs to write a large amount of data to the client, possibly over a long period. The behavior that I observe is that once I print and flush something, the buffer memory is not reclaimed even though I rflush (I know this can't be reclaimed back by the OS). Is that how mod_perl operates and is there a way that I can force it to periodically free the buffer memory, so that I can use that for new buffers instead of taking more from the OS?

  • SQL Server 2008 takes up a lot of memory?

    I am conducting stress tests on my database, which is hosted on SQL Server 2008 64-bit running on a 64-bit machine with 10 GB of RAM. I have 400 threads. Each thread queries the database every second, but the query time does not take time, as the SQL profiler says that, but after 18 hours SQL Server uses up 7.2 GB of RAM and 7.2 GB of virtual memory. Is this normal behavior? How can I adjust SQL Server to clean up unused memory?

    I would like to use Python's tempfile module to create a temporary file that I will use for communication between processes (use of pipes is awkward). The documentation I've linked to above shows two functions that almost do what I want: tempfile.NamedTemporaryFile # For creating named tempfiles tempfile.SpooledTemporaryFile # For creating tempfiles in memory but actually I want a tempfile that is both named AND in memory. Any ideas?

  • PHP - white screen of death!

    Hi everyone, After debugging a codeigniter app that were installed into a new development environment, I have started to freak out when seeing white screens with nothing more available. I have been able to solve each and every one of the errors that have caused this, but it have taken seriously way too long time. PHP error_reporting(E_ALL) & display_errors", 1 is set as well. I even installed Xdebug in hope of getting more output, but no. My logging settings are also working, but nothing is written to the log. Is there a way to get something informative printed out instead of a complete white screen? It would certainly shorten my time spent on solving the eventual errors that causes this? Thanks a lot!   • Why is NULL/0 an illegal memory location for an object?

    I understand the purpose of the NULL constant in C/C++, and I understand that it needs to be represented some way internally. My question is: Is there some fundamental reason why the 0-address would be an invalid memory-location for an object in C/C++? Or are we in theory "wasting" one byte of memory due to this reservation?
