  • Mac OS X set terminal name that persists after SSHing somewhere else

    - by djechlin
I try advice like this that recommends adding the following to your .profile: function tabname { printf "\e]1;$1\a" } So you can type tabname brokenbox to name your tab. The problem is as soon as I also type ssh [email protected] and log in, it wipes the tab name. I want a tab name that's as persistent as the tab, not the level of session I happen to be in. Is this possible? I don't even know what layer that data lives in.

  • Extjs Tooltips, IFrames and IE => Problems

    - by Chau
    I have an application using OpenLayers, Extjs and GeoExt. My application runs fine, but I need it to be placed inside an IFrame in another page. When doing this, my toolbar becomes responseless in Internet Explorer. The cause is Ext.QuickTips.init();. Comment out this line and everything works fine - except the quick tips ofcourse =) But why is it causing problems? Is it because I'm using it wrong, placing it wrong or just because it doesn't like IE and IFrames? Link: Link to the IFrame page IFrame page: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html> <body> <iframe height="660" src="http://www.gis34.dk/doctype.html" width="660"> <p>Din browser understøtter ikke <i>frames</i>.</p> </iframe> </body> </html> Application page: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript"> var map; var mapPanel; var mainViewport; var toolbarItems = []; </script> <link href="/Libraries/Ext/resources/css/ext-all.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" /> <link href="/Libraries/GeoExt/resources/css/geoext-all-debug.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" /> <link href="/CSS/Extjs.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" /> <link href="/CSS/OpenLayers.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" /> <link href="/CSS/Poseidon.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" /> </head> <body> <script src="/Libraries/OpenLayers/lib/OpenLayers.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/Libraries/Ext/adapter/ext/ext-base-debug.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/Libraries/Ext/ext-all-debug.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/Libraries/GeoExt/lib/GeoExt.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="http://www.openstreetmap.org/openlayers/OpenStreetMap.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <div id="map"></div> <script type="text/javascript"> Ext.onReady(function() { Ext.QuickTips.init(); Ext.BLANK_IMAGE_URL = '/Libraries/Ext/resources/images/default/s.gif'; var layer = new OpenLayers.Layer.OSM.Mapnik( 'OpenStreetMap Mapnik', { sphericalMercator: true }, { isBaseLayer: true } ); var mapOptions = { projection: 'EPSG:900913', units: 'm', maxExtent: new OpenLayers.Bounds(1390414.0280576,7490505.7050394,1406198.2743956,7501990.3685372), minResolution: '0.125', maxResolution: '1000', restrictedExtent: new OpenLayers.Bounds(1390414.0280576,7490505.7050394,1406198.2743956,7501990.3685372), controls: [ ] }; map = new OpenLayers.Map('', mapOptions); var Navigation = new OpenLayers.Control.Navigation(); action = new GeoExt.Action( { control: new OpenLayers.Control.ZoomBox({out:false}), map: map, tooltip: "Zoom ind", iconCls: 'icon-zoom-in', toggleGroup: 'mapTools', group: 'mapTools' }); toolbarItems.push(action); action = new GeoExt.Action( { control: new OpenLayers.Control.ZoomBox({out:true}), map: map, tooltip: "Zoom ud", iconCls: 'icon-zoom-out', toggleGroup: 'mapTools', group: 'mapTools' }); toolbarItems.push(action); action = new GeoExt.Action({ control: new OpenLayers.Control.ZoomToMaxExtent(), map: map, iconCls: 'icon-zoom-max-extent', tooltip: 'Zoom helt ud' }); toolbarItems.push(action); map.addControl(Navigation); map.addLayer(layer); mapPanel = new GeoExt.MapPanel( { border: true, id: 'mapPanel', region: "center", map: map, tbar: toolbarItems }); mainViewport = new Ext.Viewport( { layout: "fit", hideBorders: true, items: { layout: "border", deferredRender: false, items: [ mapPanel ] } }); }); </script> </body> </html>

  • How to configure hibernate-tools with maven to generate hibernate.cfg.xml, *.hbm.xml, POJOs and DAOs

    - by mmm
Hi, can any one tell me how to force maven to precede mapping .hbm.xml files in the automatically generated hibernate.cfg.xml file with package path? My general idea is, I'd like to use hibernate-tools via maven to generate the persistence layer for my application. So, I need the hibernate.cfg.xml, then all my_table_names.hbm.xml and at the end the POJO's generated. Yet, the hbm2java goal won't work as I put *.hbm.xml files into the src/main/resources/package/path/ folder but hbm2cfgxml specifies the mapping files only by table name, i.e.: <mapping resource="MyTableName.hbm.xml" /> So the big question is: how can I configure hbm2cfgxml so that hibernate.cfg.xml looks like below: <mapping resource="package/path/MyTableName.hbm.xml" /> My pom.xml looks like this at the moment: <plugin> <groupId>org.codehaus.mojo</groupId> <artifactId>hibernate3-maven-plugin</artifactId> <version>2.2</version> <executions> <execution> <id>hbm2cfgxml</id> <phase>generate-sources</phase> <goals> <goal>hbm2cfgxml</goal> </goals> <inherited>false</inherited> <configuration> <components> <component> <name>hbm2cfgxml</name> <implemetation>jdbcconfiguration</implementation> <outputDirectory>src/main/resources/</outputDirectory> </component> </components> <componentProperties> <packagename>package.path</packageName> <configurationFile>src/main/resources/hibernate.cfg.xml</configurationFile> </componentProperties> </configuration> </execution> </executions> </plugin> And then the second question: is there a way to tell maven to copy resources to the target folder before executing hbm2java? At the moment I'm using mvn clean resources:resources generate-sources for that, but there must be a better way. Thanks for any help. Update: @Pascal: Thank you for your help. The path to mappings works fine now, I don't know what was wrong before, though. Maybe there is some issue with writing to hibernate.cfg.xml while reading database config from it (though the file gets updated). I've deleted the file hibernate.cfg.xml, replaced it with database.properties and run the goals hbm2cfgxml and hbm2hbmxml. I also don't use the outputDirectory nor configurationfile in those goals anymore. As a result the files hibernate.cfg.xml and all *.hbm.xml are being generated into my target/hibernate3/generated-mappings/ folder, which is the default value. Then I updated the hbm2java goal with the following: <componentProperties> <packagename>package.name</packagename> <configurationfile>target/hibernate3/generated-mappings/hibernate.cfg.xml</configurationfile> </componentProperties> But then I get the following: [INFO] --- hibernate3-maven-plugin:2.2:hbm2java (hbm2java) @ project.persistence --- [INFO] using configuration task. [INFO] Configuration XML file loaded: file:/C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/mmm/workspace/project.persistence/target/hibernate3/generated-mappings/hibernate.cfg.xml 12:15:17,484 INFO org.hibernate.cfg.Configuration - configuring from url: file:/C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/mmm/workspace/project.persistence/target/hibernate3/generated-mappings/hibernate.cfg.xml 12:15:19,046 INFO org.hibernate.cfg.Configuration - Reading mappings from resource : package.name/Messages.hbm.xml [INFO] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [INFO] BUILD FAILURE [INFO] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [ERROR] Failed to execute goal org.codehaus.mojo:hibernate3-maven-plugin:2.2:hbm2java (hbm2java) on project project.persistence: Execution hbm2java of goal org.codehaus.mojo:hibernate3-maven-plugin:2.2:hbm2java failed: resource: package/name/Messages.hbm.xml not found How do I deal with that? Of course I could add: <outputDirectory>src/main/resources/package/name</outputDirectory> to the hbm2hbmxml goal, but I think this is not the best approach, or is it? Is there a way to keep all the generated code and resources away from the src/ folder? I assume, the goal of this approach is not to generate any sources into my src/main/java or /resources folder, but to keep the generated code in the target folder. As I generally agree with this point of view, I'd like to continue with that eventually executing hbm2dao and packaging the project to be used as a generated persistence layer component from the business layer. Is this also what you meant?

  • WPF XAML: how to get StackPanel's children to fill maximum space downward?

    - by Edward Tanguay
    I simply want flowing text on the left, and a help box on the right. The help box should extend all the way to the bottom. If you take out the outer StackPanel below it works great. But for reasons of layout (I'm inserting UserControls dynamically) I need to have the wrapping StackPanel. How do I get the GroupBox to extend down to the bottom of the StackPanel, as you can see I've tried: VerticalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalContentAlignment="Stretch" Height="Auto" XAML: <Window x:Class="TestDynamic033.Test3" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Test3" Height="300" Width="600"> <StackPanel VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Height="Auto"> <DockPanel HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Height="Auto" Margin="10"> <GroupBox DockPanel.Dock="Right" Header="Help" Width="100" Background="Beige" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalContentAlignment="Stretch" Height="Auto"> <TextBlock Text="This is the help that is available on the news screen." TextWrapping="Wrap" /> </GroupBox> <StackPanel DockPanel.Dock="Left" Margin="10" Width="Auto" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch"> <TextBlock Text="Here is the news that should wrap around." TextWrapping="Wrap"/> </StackPanel> </DockPanel> </StackPanel> </Window> Answer: Thanks Mark, using DockPanel instead of StackPanel cleared it up. In general, I find myself using DockPanel more and more now for WPF layouting, here's the fixed XAML: <Window x:Class="TestDynamic033.Test3" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Test3" Height="300" Width="600" MinWidth="500" MinHeight="200"> <DockPanel VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Height="Auto"> <DockPanel HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Height="Auto" MinWidth="400" Margin="10"> <GroupBox DockPanel.Dock="Right" Header="Help" Width="100" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalContentAlignment="Stretch" Height="Auto"> <Border CornerRadius="3" Background="Beige"> <TextBlock Text="This is the help that is available on the news screen." TextWrapping="Wrap" Padding="5"/> </Border> </GroupBox> <StackPanel DockPanel.Dock="Left" Margin="10" Width="Auto" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch"> <TextBlock Text="Here is the news that should wrap around." TextWrapping="Wrap"/> </StackPanel> </DockPanel> </DockPanel> </Window>

  • System.Json namespace missing from Windows Phone 7

    - by Freyday
During a Mix10 presentation, the presenter (Charlie Kindel) said that when writing Silverlight based apps for WP7 you get all of Silverlight 3.0 with some of Silverlight 4.0 mixed in. Why then is System.Json missing? It was included in Silverlight 3.0, and is included in Silverlight 4.0. Windows Phone 7 Class Library Reference

  • WatiN or Selenium?

    - by David Thomas Garcia
I'm going to start building some automated tests of our presentation soon. It seems that everyone recommends WatiN and Selenium. Which do you prefer for automated testing of ASP.NET web forms? Why did that product work better for you? As a side note, I noticed that WatiN 2.0 has been in CTP since March 2008, is that something to be concerned about?

  • .NET Backgroundworker - Is there no way to let exceptions pass back normally to main thread?

    - by Greg
Hi, QUESTION: Re use of .NET Backgroundworker, is there not a way to let exceptions pass back normally to main thread? BACKGROUND: Currently in my WinForms application I have generic exception handle that goes along the lines of, if (a) a custom app exception then present to user, but don't exit program, and (b) if other exception then present and then exit application The above is nice as I can just throw the appropriate exception anywhere in the application and the presentation/handling is handled generically

  • Silverlight ViewBase in separate assembly - possible?

    - by Mark
I have all my views in a project inheriting from a ViewBase class that inherits from UserControl. In my XAML I reference it thus: <f:ViewBase x:Class="Forte.UI.Modules.Configure.Views.AddNewEmployeeView" xmlns:f="clr-namespace:Forte.UI.Modules.Configure.Views" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" It works fine. Now I have moved the ViewBase to another project (so I can refernce it from multiple projects) so I reference it like: <f:ViewBase x:Class="Forte.UI.Modules.Configure.Views.AddNewEmployeeView" xmlns:f="clr-namespace:Forte.UI.Modules.Common.Views;assembly=Forte.UI.Modules.Common" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" This works fine when I run from the IDE but when I run the same sln from MSBuild it gives a warning: "H:\dev\ExternalCopy\Code\UI\Modules\Configure\Forte.UI.Modules.Configure.csproj" (default target) (10:12) - (ValidateXaml target) - H:\dev\ExternalCopy\Code\UI\Modules\Configure\Views\AddNewEmployee\AddNewEmployeeView.xaml(1,2,1,2): warning : The tag 'ViewBase' does not exist in XML namespace 'clr-namespace:Forte.UI.Modules.Common.Views;assembly=Forte.UI.Modules.Common'. I am trying to download for Asp.Net application for Fabrikam Fiber Call center. It was used by Larry guger in his presentation on http://channel9.msdn.com/Events/TechEd/NorthAmerica/2012/DEV365 about "Advanced IntelliTrace in Production with Visual Studio 2012". It would be a great help as it is perfect code base to try out all new VS 2012 features at one go. If this is not the right forum to ask this question please suggest. Thanks for the help.

  • Example of an ASP.NET MVC post model?

    - by Anthony Potts
I was watching the HaHaa presentation on ASP.NET MVC from MIX and they mentioned using a Post Model where I guess they were saying you could use a model that was ONLY for posting. I have tried looking for examples for this. Am I not understanding what they are saying? Does anyone have an example of how this might work in a strongly typed view where the view model and post model are not of the same type?

  • org-mode agenda tree view

    - by Ray
In org-mode's daily/weekly agenda view, is there a way to display the full context of the entries? My reading of the code is that it finds the first heading above the timestamp and displays that. However, in my case, that heading is often 3-4 levels deep and doesn't make sense without the bullets above it. It also doesn't seem like there are hooks to easily change that. Filtering is trivial, but not changing the fundamental presentation format.

  • implement N-Tier Entity Framework 4.0 with DTOs

    - by kathy
Hi, I'm currently building a web based system and trying to implement N-Tier Entity Framework 4.0 with DTOs in a SOA Architecture. I am having a problem understanding how I should implement the Data Access Layer (DAL) , the Business Logic Layer (BLL) and the Presentation Layer. Let’s suppose that I have a “useraccount” entity has the following : Id FirstName LastName AuditFields_InsertDate AuditFields_UpdateDate In the DAL I created a class “UserAccountsData.cs” as the following : using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; namespace OrderSystemDAL { public static class UserAccountsData { public static int Insert(string firstName, string lastName, DateTime insertDate) { using (OrderSystemEntities db = new OrderSystemEntities()) { return Insert(db, firstName, lastName, insertDate); } } public static int Insert(OrderSystemEntities db, string firstName, string lastName, DateTime insertDate) { return db.UserAccounts_Insert(firstName, lastName, insertDate, insertDate).ElementAt(0).Value; } public static void Update(int id, string firstName, string lastName, DateTime updateDate) { using (OrderSystemEntities db = new OrderSystemEntities()) { Update(db, id, firstName, lastName, updateDate); } } public static void Update(OrderSystemEntities db, int id, string firstName, string lastName, DateTime updateDate) { db.UserAccounts_Update(id, firstName, lastName, updateDate); } public static void Delete(int id) { using (OrderSystemEntities db = new OrderSystemEntities()) { Delete(db, id); } } public static void Delete(OrderSystemEntities db, int id) { db.UserAccounts_Delete(id); } public static UserAccount SelectById(int id) { using (OrderSystemEntities db = new OrderSystemEntities()) { return SelectById(db, id); } } public static UserAccount SelectById(OrderSystemEntities db, int id) { return db.UserAccounts_SelectById(id).ElementAtOrDefault(0); } public static List<UserAccount> SelectAll() { using (OrderSystemEntities db = new OrderSystemEntities()) { return SelectAll(db); } } public static List<UserAccount> SelectAll(OrderSystemEntities db) { return db.UserAccounts_SelectAll().ToList(); } } } And in the BLL I created a class “UserAccountEO.cs” as the following : using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Collections; using OrderSystemDAL; namespace OrderSystemBLL { public class UserAccountEO { public int Id { get; set; } public string FirstName { get; set; } public string LastName { get; set; } public DateTime InsertDate { get; set; } public DateTime UpdateDate { get; set; } public string FullName { get { return LastName + ", " + FirstName; } } public bool Save(ref ArrayList validationErrors) { ValidateSave(ref validationErrors); if (validationErrors.Count == 0) { if (Id == 0) { Id = UserAccountsData.Insert(FirstName, LastName, DateTime. Now); } else { UserAccountsData.Update(Id, FirstName, LastName, DateTime. Now); } return true; } else { return false; } } private void ValidateSave(ref ArrayList validationErrors) { if (FirstName.Trim() == "") { validationErrors.Add("The First Name is required."); } if (LastName.Trim() == "") { validationErrors.Add("The Last Name is required."); } } public void Delete(ref ArrayList validationErrors) { ValidateDelete(ref validationErrors); if (validationErrors.Count == 0) { UserAccountsData.Delete(Id); } } private void ValidateDelete(ref ArrayList validationErrors) { //Check for referential integrity. } public bool Select(int id) { UserAccount userAccount = UserAccountsData.SelectById(id); if (userAccount != null) { MapData(userAccount); return true; } else { return false; } } internal void MapData(UserAccount userAccount) { Id = userAccount.Id; FirstName = userAccount.FristName; LastName = userAccount.LastName; InsertDate = userAccount.AuditFields_InsertDate; UpdateDate = userAccount.AuditFields_UpdateDate; } public static List<UserAccountEO> SelectAll() { List<UserAccountEO> userAccounts = new List<UserAccountEO>(); List<UserAccount> userAccountDTOs = UserAccountsData.SelectAll(); foreach (UserAccount userAccountDTO in userAccountDTOs) { UserAccountEO userAccountEO = new UserAccountEO(); userAccountEO.MapData(userAccountDTO); userAccounts.Add(userAccountEO); } return userAccounts; } } } And in the PL I created a webpage as the following : using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Web; using System.Web.UI; using System.Web.UI.WebControls; using OrderSystemBLL; using System.Collections; namespace OrderSystemUI { public partial class Users : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (!IsPostBack) { LoadUserDropDownList(); } } private void LoadUserDropDownList() { ddlUsers.DataSource = UserAccountEO.SelectAll(); ddlUsers.DataTextField = "FullName"; ddlUsers.DataValueField = "Id"; ddlUsers.DataBind(); } } } Is the above way the right way to Implement the DTOs pattern in n-tier Architecture using EF4 ??? I would appreciate your help Thanks.

  • Design-time failure: WPF, Usercontrols and Namespaces

    - by Simon Woods
    Hi I have a very simple WPF project comprising a Window and Usercontrol. I'm very much in a learning phase. It works fine when I run it. However, I am unable to see the form in design time. The problem, I believe is something to do with namespaces, but I don't understand where. It may well be a simple error Main Window XML <Window xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008" xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006" xmlns:views="clr-namespace:UserLogin" x:Class="UserLogin.MainView" x:Name="MainViewWindow" mc:Ignorable="d" Title="Login" Height="141" Width="347" > <Grid> <views:LoginView /> </Grid> </Window> Main Window CodeBehind Imports Microsoft.VisualBasic Imports System Imports System.Windows Imports UserLogin Namespace UserLogin Partial Public Class MainView Inherits System.Windows.Window Public Sub New() InitializeComponent() End Sub End Class End Namespace Usercontrol XAML <UserControl xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006" xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008" x:Class="UserLogin.LoginView" x:Name="LoginViewControl" mc:Ignorable="d" d:DesignHeight="96" d:DesignWidth="298"> <Grid Height="96" Width="298"> <Button Command="{Binding OKCommand}" Height="21" Margin="0,0,90,16" Name="btnOK" VerticalAlignment="Bottom" HorizontalAlignment="Right" Width="76">OK</Button> <Button Command="{Binding CancelCommand}" Height="21" HorizontalAlignment="Right" Margin="0,0,9,16" Name="btnCancel" VerticalAlignment="Bottom" Width="75">Cancel</Button> <Label Height="23" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="10,5,0,0" Name="Label1" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="85">Name:</Label> <Label HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="10,32,0,0" Name="Label2" Width="85" Height="29" VerticalAlignment="Top">Password:</Label> <TextBox Margin="0,31,6,0" Name="txtPassword" Height="22" VerticalAlignment="Top" HorizontalAlignment="Right" Width="182" /> <ComboBox Height="22" Margin="110,6,6,0" Name="cboNames" VerticalAlignment="Top" /> </Grid> </UserControl> Usercontrol CodeBehind Imports Microsoft.VisualBasic Imports System Imports UserLogin Namespace UserLogin Partial Public Class LoginView Inherits System.Windows.Controls.UserControl Public Sub New() InitializeComponent() End Sub End Class End Namespace I think I'm missing something this namespace xmlns:views="clr-namespace:UserLogin" since intellisense doesn't give me the usercontrol declared within it in the XAML designer but rather reports the error "Unable to load the metadata for the assembly ... etc etc" Thx for any suggestions Simon

  • Adding ComboBoxItem to a combobox inside a user control (XAML/WPF)

    - by byte
I am currently learning to create custom controls in WPF. I successfully created a simple custom control using a Label and a Text Box. I was able to allow setting the Label text by DependencyProperty. Now I am creating a user control that has a ComboBox. I need to allow adding items to this ComboBox from outside the control. To achieve this, I tried exposing a DependencyProperty of type ItemsCollection and it will allows access to the ComboBox's Items property (the DP in my control sample is named 'CbItems'). But I get errors because Items property of Combobox is ReadOnly. Control XAML <UserControl x:Class="MyWpfApp.Controls.MyControl" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Height="Auto" Width="Auto"> <Grid> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition /> <ColumnDefinition /> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Label Grid.Column="0" Content="{Binding FieldLabel}"></Label> <ComboBox Name="cmb" Grid.Column="1" Width="150"></ComboBox> </Grid> </UserControl> MainWindow XAML <Window x:Class="MyWpfApp.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:ctl="clr-namespace:MyWpfApp.Controls" Title="Window1" Height="300" Width="300"> <Grid> <ctl:MyControl> <ctl:MyControl.CbItems> <ComboBoxItem>Hello</ComboBoxItem> <ComboBoxItem>World</ComboBoxItem> <ComboBoxItem>Hi</ComboBoxItem> </ctl:LobCombox.CbItems> </ctl:LobCombox> </Grid> </Window> I would like to know what the correct way is to achieve this functionality. I believe the answer to this might also help with other controls like GridView etc Many Thanks

  • Calling web services from your JSF code

    - by Abel Morelos
Let's say that you have a presentation tier in JSF, and that your business tier is accessed using web services. How would you call your web services from JSF? I was considering to have my backing beans to call the web services, but I just though I could use Ajax with JSF in order to connect to the web services. What would you choose and why? Any other choice you could recommend? Thanks.

  • Silverlight ControlTemplate and F#

    - by akaphenom
Has anybody had any success incorporating a Silverlight ControlTemplate into an F# Silverlight application. I am trying to add transitions to the Navgiation.Frame element and following along on with a C# example: http://www.davidpoll.com/2009/07/19/silverlight-3-navigation-adding-transitions-to-the-frame-control The downloaded source uses the MSBUILD:Compile option on the template XAML and the file is included as a "Page"... ILDASM doesn't show any object created for the XAML; In my project I incldued it as a "Resource" (same as I have done for my pages) and referenced it in app.xaml: <Application xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" x:Class="Module1.MyApp"> <Application.Resources> <ResourceDictionary> <ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> <ResourceDictionary Source="/FSSilverlightApp;component/TransitioningFrame.xaml"/> </ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> </ResourceDictionary> </Application.Resources> </Application> the TransitioningFrame.xaml is as follows: <ResourceDictionary xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:navigation="clr-namespace:System.Windows.Controls;assembly=System.Windows.Controls.Navigation" xmlns:toolkit="clr-namespace:System.Windows.Controls;assembly=System.Windows.Controls.Layout.Toolkit"> <ControlTemplate x:Key="TransitioningFrame" TargetType="navigation:Frame"> <Border Background="{TemplateBinding Background}" BorderBrush="{TemplateBinding BorderBrush}" BorderThickness="{TemplateBinding BorderThickness}" HorizontalAlignment="{TemplateBinding HorizontalContentAlignment}" VerticalAlignment="{TemplateBinding VerticalContentAlignment}"> <toolkit:TransitioningContentControl Content="{TemplateBinding Content}" Cursor="{TemplateBinding Cursor}" Margin="{TemplateBinding Padding}" HorizontalAlignment="{TemplateBinding HorizontalContentAlignment}" VerticalAlignment="{TemplateBinding VerticalContentAlignment}" HorizontalContentAlignment="{TemplateBinding HorizontalContentAlignment}" VerticalContentAlignment="{TemplateBinding VerticalContentAlignment}" Transition="DefaultTransition" /> </Border> </ControlTemplate> </ResourceDictionary> My page objects all load their respective xaml with the follwoing code: type Page1() as this = inherit UriUserControl("/FSSilverlightApp;component/Page1.xaml") do Application.LoadComponent(this, base.uri) and somewhere in app startup: let p1 = new Page1() I donot have a comparable piece for the ControlTemplate - though I was hoping the application object and App.xaml would pull it in magically (as an aside, the reliance on this magic has made setting up a 100% f# silverlight application rather tricky - as nearly all the published articles I find are based around wizards and short cuts - very little on the acual plumbing - ugh). Any advice or thougts on the subject are appreciated.
