  • PHP or Javascript or other - Draw simple shapes onto images?

    I basically have an image of a world map and i would like to place a pin image at a specified pixel co-ordinate ontop of this world map image. It's for a website, so ideally the solution should be in PHP or Javascript (i'm avoiding Java and Flash as i want it to be as simple as possible). I had a look at the processing.js library but it is way to big and bloated for just performing this simple task. Is there a pre-existing Javascript function which will allow me to do this? Or a more simple javascript library that i can use? (processing.js was a bit too advanced for me, i couldnt get it working lol) In terms of a PHP solution, i would prefer taking the load off the server and onto the client for this task, but i would still like to hear methods for doing it in PHP if they are suitable.     Hello, I am trying to terminate an openvpn task, spawned via NSTask. My question: Should I send ctrl+c (SIGINT) to the input NSPipe for my NSTask? inputPipe = [NSPipe pipe]; taskInput = [inputPipe fileHandleForWriting]; NSString dataString = @"\cC"; [taskInput writeData:[dataString dataUsingEncoding: [NSString defaultCStringEncoding]]]; Alternatively, I was thinking about using kill( pid, SIGINT ); but it would be much more complicated since the process ID has to be determined via a detour ([task processIdentifier] does not help here) - the original NSTask calls: /bin/bash -c sudo -S | mypassword .... That's not nice, I know but it is only called once and the sudo password has been entered in that case already. thanks for any suggestions/opinions/etc. Ron

Any ideas what I could have done wrong here? EDIT: I also tried the EntityFunctions class mentioned here, but that did not work as well.     Hi, Has anyone implemented a holiday workflow approval / tracking list in MOSS Sharepoint 2007? Can anyone suggests other solutions? The solution below works fine but I am specifically looking for a way to lookup manager of the user who created the holiday request list item in the workflow. I have followed this link http://www.u2u.info/Blogs/Kevin/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=39 which shows you how to create a custom workflow approval. Below are the steps outlined by the link. User add new holiday item to list Workflow kicks off Wf has the manager hardcoded (need a way to look this up, maybe from AD??) and creates a Task for them to review the request.     Hello. I'm looking into a possible feature for my little to-do application... I like the idea that I can send an email to a particular email address, containing a to-do task I need to complete, and this will be read by my web application and be put in the database... So, when I come to log into my application, the to-do task I emailed will be there as a entry in the app. Is this possible? I have a slice with SliceHost (basically a dedicated server) so I have total control on what to install etc. I'm using Python/Django/MySQL for this. Any ideas on what steps to take to make this happen?

The problem is We have to interact with the client directly to gather the requirement We have to design all HLD and LLD ,use cases and DB Diagrams ,that should staisfy the customers who keeping the high software insdutry standards In this do or die situation (Client gives us narrow dead line),we spend most of time with interacting client (only less time is available for development and testing,even sit out for 24 X 7 won't help us to finish our task) If task will not be finished with in the expected time frame ,that will trigger poor performance ration to our profile There are two important questions flashing in our mind : (1) Quit the job and do other business (2) Face the challenge : (if the option is to face the challenge ,What are all the tools should we follow to automate requirement gathering,testing,DB diagram,Code review and the rest.(We are working on ASP.NET 3.5 with SQL Server 2005).

  • Where would you document standardized complex data that is passed between many objects and methods?

    Hi All, I often find myself with fairly complex data that represents something that my objects will be working on. For example, in a task-list app, several objects might work with an array of tasks, each of which has attributes, temporal expressions, sub tasks and sub sub tasks, etc. One object will collect data from web forms, standardize it into a format consumable by the class that will save them to the database, another object will pull them from the database, put them in the standard format and pass them to the display object, or the update object, etc. The data itself can become a fairly complex series of arrays and sub arrays, representing a 'task' or list of tasks. For example, the below might be one entry in a task list, in the format that is consumable by the various objects that will work on it. Normally, I just document this in a file somewhere with an example. However, I am thinking about the best way to add it to something like PHPDoc, or another standard doc system. Where would you document your consumable data formats that are for many or all of the objects / methods in your app?   • Logs overwritten in CruiseCControl.NET when there is multiple MSBuild Tasks.

    I have two MSBuild tasks in my CC.NET config. In the end of the execution, i can see two blocks of warnings/errors in the log and published email. But the problem is that the contents of both the blocks are the same and that is from the second MSBuild task!! In another way, the second MSBuild task overwrites the first log, and then creates another one for itself effectively creating two exactly identical block!!! Do anybody have any thoughts on this?   • Correct way to persist Quartz triggers

    I'm quite new to Quartz and now I need to schedule some jobs in Spring Web App. I know about Spring + Quartz integration (I'm using Spring v 3.1.1) but I'm wondering if it's the right way to follow. In particular I need to persist my scheduled tasks in a DB so I can re-initialize them when application is restarted. Are there some utilities provided by Spring scheduling wrapper to do this? Can you suggest me some "well known" approach to follow?

  • WCF competitive consumer pattern

    Is it possible to create a WCF service (web service) that only accepts a single connection at any one time with all other calls either queued or rejected. Need to implement the competitive consumer pattern where there are a number of clients which could deal with task at hand but when a client askes for more work a task must go to only one of them. Usual done as part of an enterprise service bus but can not find one that I'm happy to start using so looking to get this behaviour through a WCF service. Any ideas people ?

  • Java's ThreadPoolExecutor equivalent for C#?

    Hi Guys, I used to make good use of Java's ThreadPoolExecutor class and have yet to find a good equivalent in C#. I know of ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem which is useful in many cases but no good if you want to control the number of threads assigned to a task or have multiple individual queues for different task types. For example I liked to use a ThreadPoolExecutor with a single thread to guarantee sequential execution of asynchronous calls.. Is there an easy way to do this in C#? Is there a non-static thread pool implementation? Thanks, T.

  • Set the current date in PHP

    I'm currently working on my company's in-house CMS and wish to add the ability for an admin to view the site on a specific date. This will allow admins to preview the site with archived or scheduled posts. I'd like to avoid finding all mentions of date() or time() and offsetting them. Is there a way of making PHP think it's a specific date so that all calls to date() default to the new time? Thank you

  • msbuild/clickonce publish files generated during the build

    As a part of my build process I generate some files that should be included when creating a clickonce deployment. Here is a blog post of someone telling you how to include items that's not part of the project. However, as someone mentions in the comments of that blogpost, it won't update the deploymentmanifest when you do it in the "BeforePublish" task and the files won't get downloaded - it works fine if you do it in the "BeforeBuild" task though. This gives me a chicken and egg problem as I have to perform the build first to generate the files I want included.. Does anyone have a solution for this ? (p.s. at the moment generating the clickonce deployment using mage.exe is not an option, it have to be done using the Publish target)

    I have barely any experience working with DOM and using Javascript, and I have a very specific task that I'm trying to accomplish. Let's say I have an image in my HTML: <img src="foo.jpg" /> When the site loads, I want to take that image (all images in the document, actually), and wrap them in a link: <a href="http://www.foobar.com"><img src="foo.jpg" /></a> What could I use to accomplish this? Google hasn't turned up much for me with regards to this specific task. On load, I can access and iterate all the images in the document... but I'm not sure where to go from there in order to wrap the image in a link.

  • Creating PDF Invoices - Are there any templating solutions?

    Our company is looking to integrate invoices into a new system we are developing. We require some a solution to create a layout of the invoice and then convert to pdf. We have considered just laying out the invoice in html/css then converting to pdf. We have also considered using SVG-PDf conversion. Both of these solutions integrate well into our existing templating language used for our web application. Historically we have been a Microsoft based business and used Crystal Reports for such a task but we are looking an open source Linux solution for this project. Does any one have any suggestions of an approach or technology we could use for such a task?
