• How to use NGramTokenizerFactory or NGramFilterFactory?

  Hi, Recently, I am studying how to store and index using Solr. I want to do facet.prefix search. With whitespace tokenizer, "Where are you" will be splited into three words and indexed. If I search facet.prefix="where are", no result will be returned. I google and found NGramFilterFactory can help me. But when I apply this filter factory, I found the result is "w, h, e, ..., wh, ..", which split the sentence by character, not by token word. I use the parameters maxGramSize and minGramSize, set to 1 and 3. Does the NGramFilterFactory work right? Should I add some other parameters? Is there some other filter factories which can help me?   Hi every one, I am very much new to Drupal but am loving it to start with. I got struck at a point with respect to theaming. I have a region called 'footer-teaser' just above footer. Its width is 800px. its been split into 3 equal size columns. Each column has the following. Image of size 120x120 Some teaser text Link to 'read more' The design requirement is all the above should be editable by the admin from the admin interface. If its static i would have hardcoded this but since the requirement is dynamic, i am not aware of how to achieve this. I have customised page.tpl for other sections of the page except this. I am sure someone else would have faced this issue before and was wondering if anyone can direct me in the right direction? Even better if an example is provided. Cheers RD

• Are ASP.NET readymade controls really production worthy ?

  I have come across the ASP.NET ready made controls like grid, repeater... etc. For example while dealing with GRID i remember following facts, ASP.NET V1.1 has DataGrid with "virtual row count" which is heavily used for custom paging which is need of big sites to perform well. ASP.NET V2.0 added the GridView with all sort of cool features but also split the DataSource parts as different component. Also "virtual row count" is not supported and for pagination to be done DataSource control is need to be used. After all these thing i thought that ASP.NET control are not made to be used as is for the development. Please let me know whether i am right or wrong? Also if you think i am wrong PLEASE provide inputs/links which can help me come out of this thinking of mine.

  OK so I am getting an ArrayIndexOutofBoundsException. I don't know why. Here's my code: http://www.so.pastebin.com/y5MjD1k3 The thing is when I go to the red brick at board[2][2]... I go there. Then I go up... then I TRY go to back down but that error pops up. Also when I go to the right 8 squares... I ALSO get that error. ALSO, pretend my 2d map is split into FOUR squares... well square one is the top left... if I go ANYWHERE else ... I get that error. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

  I used to have database entries separated by ampersands (&), but this was causing certain search issues so I decided to encapsulate my entries on both sides by $ and & symbols like: $this& But I am having trouble displaying all the entries of a cell as individual records. • Linq to SQL - design question.

  HI, Currently i have one big datacontex with 35 tables (i dragged all my DB tables to the designer). I must admit it is very comfortable cause i have ORM to my full DB and query with linq is easy and simple. My questions are: 1. Would you consider it bad design to have one datacontext with 35 tables or should i split it to logic units? 2. Is there any performance penalties for using such a big datacontext? Thanks, Pini.

• 100+ tables to joined

  Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone ever had a change to measure how a would 100 joined tables perform? Each table would have an ID column with primary index and all table are 1:1 related. It is a common problem within many data entry applications where we need to collect 1000+ data points. One solution would be to have one big table with 1000+ columns and the alternative would be to split them into multiple tables and join them when it is necessary. So perhaps more real question would be how 30 tables (30 columns each) would behave with multitable join. 500K-1M rows should be the expected size of the tables. Cheers

• How to get multiple copies of a UIView loaded from a nib?

  I want to use a UIView heirarchy multiple times (the nib object is a template). Unfortunately, UIView does not conform to <NSCopying so [cell.contentView addSubview: [[templEditCellView copy] autorelease]]; does not work. I wasn't surprised, since I want a deep copy of the view heirarchy. Currently the view is a top-level object in the nib it is loaded from. Is there a way to reload a single specified top-level object from the nib? Should I split out the view to a single NIB which can be reloaded on demand? Or is there another way to make a deep copy of a view? Thanks!

• Excel can't remember how to copy/paste

  So, maybe someone else has an idea why this happens. I have a full-fledged version of Office 2007, works fine and all that jazz. However, if I try to copy and paste query results from SSMS, or anywhere else for that matter, I have to have an instance of Excel open and then paste. I can't copy, open Excel, and then paste. The little 'wait' circle pops up for a split second but nothing is pasted. I have never ran across this with any other program. Any good explanation for this? FFIW, it's Excel 2007 running in compatibility mode.

• MySQL thousands of updates, slowing down.

  I need to run a PHP loop for a total of 100, 000 times (about 10, 000 each script-run), and each loop has about 5 MySQL UPDATES to it. When I run the loop 50 times, it takes 3 sec. When I run the loop 1000 times, it takes about 1300 sec. As you can see, MySQL is slowing down ALOT with more UPDATEs. This is an example update: mysql_query("UPDATE table SET `row1`=`row1` +1 WHERE `UniqueValue`='5'"); This is generated randomly from PHP, but I can store it in a variable and run it every n loops. Is there any way to either make MySQL and PHP run at a consistent speed (is PHP storing hidden variables?), or split up the script so they do? Note: I am running this for a development purposes, not for production, so there will only be 1 computer accessing the data.

• SoundManager + FFMPEG causing loud popping sound when streaming MP3s?

  Hi there, I built an application that plays both uploaded original mp3 files, and copies that have been converted with FFMPEG. I am finding that in some cases the FFMPEG files have a horrible popping/clicking/screeching sound for a split second at startup (hear below). But when I analyze the file in an audio editor there is nothing there, so it seems to be either the browser or soundManager reacting badly to something in that file. Wondering if there is any way I can fix this either by adjusting FFMPEG settings, soundManager settings, or..... Any suggestions? • Sharing state/changes across ViewModels

  I have an App which has a Tasks tab and a Projects tab. I decided to make a separate ViewModel for each of the tabs, TasksViewModel and ProjectsViewModel. The Tasks tab has a new task area with an associated project pulldown and the Projects tab (obviously) has a list of projects. What I'd like is for the pulldown on the Tasks tab to share the same collection as the Projects tab list so that any time I add or remove a project on the Projects tab the list on the Tasks tab is up to date automatically. This worked well with a single ViewModel but it was beginning to become quite unruly. Should I not have split into two ViewModels? Is there a common method of sharing data like this? Perhaps pass the same ObservableCollection<Project> into each of the ViewModels? Perhaps some type of notification back to the TasksViewModel along the lines of ICollectionChanged. Appreciate any insight/input!

• jQuery focus on content of input / textarea - not working properly in IE8

  I want the input fields on my site to select all the text when the user first clicks on them, but in IE8 the text is selected for a split second then reverts back to normal. Works fine in FF. • C++ Word-Number to int

  I'm developing a program that makes basic calculations using words instead of numbers. E.g. five + two would output seven. The program becomes more complex, taking input such as two_hundred_one + five_thousand_six (201 + 5006) Through operator overloading methods, I split each number and assign it to it's own array index. two would be [0], hundred is [1], and one is [2]. Then the array recycles for 5006. My problem is, to perform the actual calculation, I need to convert the words stored in the array to actual integers. I have const string arrays such as this as a library of the words: const string units[] = { "", "one", "two", "three", "four", "five", "six", "seven", "eight", "nine" }; const string teens[] = { "ten", "eleven", "twelve", "thirteen", "fourteen", "fifteen", "sixteen", "seventeen", "eighteen", "nineteen" }; const string tens[] = { "", "", "twenty", "thirty", "forty", "fifty", "sixty", "seventy", "eighty", "ninety" }; If my 'token' array has stored in it two hundred one in index 0, 1, and 2, I'm not sure what the best way to convert these to ints would involve.

• Python preprocessing imports

  I am managing a quite large python code base (2000 lines) that I want anyway to be available as a single runnable python script. So I am searching for a method or a tool to merge a development folder, made of different python files into a single running script. The thing/method I am searching for should take code split into different files, maybe with a starting __init___.py file that contains the imports and merge it into a single, big script. Much like a preprocessor. Best if a near-native way, better if I can anyway run from the dev folder. I have already checked out pypp and pypreprocessor but they don't seem to take the point. Something like a strange use of __import__() or maybe a bunch of from foo import * replaced by the preprocessor with the code? Obviously I only want to merge my directory and not common libraries.
