  • Hide editor-label for public property when calling EditorFor(...)?

    - by FreshCode
When calling Html.EditorFor(m => m), where m is a public class with public properties, a hidden input and a label are displayed for properties with the [HiddenInput] attribute. How can I hide the label without making it private or creating an editor template? Example public class User { [HiddenInput] public Guid ID { get; set; } // should not be displayed in editor template public string Name { get; set; } // should be editable } Undesired result for ID property by EditorFor(...) with label <div class="editor-label"> <label for="ID">ID</label> <!-- Why is this here? --> </div> <div class="editor-field"> <input id="ID" name="ID" type="hidden" value=""> </div>

  • ASP.NET C# DataList FindControl & Header/Footer template causes error

    - by m3n
    Hello, whenever I use the Header or Footer template of DataList, FindControl is unable to find a label part of the DataList, and throws a NullReferenceException. My SQLDataSource and DataList (no Header and Footer template - works): <asp:SqlDataSource ID="sdsMinaKop" runat="server" ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:dbCSMinaKop %>" SelectCommand="SELECT kopare_id, bok_id, bok_titel, bok_pris, kop_id FROM kop WHERE kopare_id = @UserName" onselecting="sdsMinaKop_Selecting"> <SelectParameters> <asp:Parameter DefaultValue="admin" Name="UserName" /> </SelectParameters> <asp:SelectParameters> <asp:Parameter Name="UserName" Type="String" /> </asp:SelectParameters> </asp:SqlDataSource> <asp:DataList ID="DataList1" runat="server" DataKeyField="kop_id" DataSourceID="sdsMinaKop" onitemdatabound="DataList1_ItemDataBound" RepeatLayout="Table"> <ItemTemplate> <tr> <td><asp:Label ID="bok_titelLabel" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("bok_titel") %>' /></td> <td><asp:Label ID="bok_prisLabel" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("bok_pris") %>' /> kr</td> <td><a href="avbestall.aspx?id='<%# Eval("kop_id") %>'" />[X]</a></td> </tr> </ItemTemplate> <ItemStyle Wrap="False" /> </asp:DataList> With Header & Footer template - does not work. <asp:DataList ID="DataList1" runat="server" DataKeyField="kop_id" DataSourceID="sdsMinaKop" onitemdatabound="DataList1_ItemDataBound" RepeatLayout="Table"> <ItemTemplate> <tr> <td><asp:Label ID="bok_titelLabel" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("bok_titel") %>' /></td> <td><asp:Label ID="bok_prisLabel" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("bok_pris") %>' /> kr</td> <td><a href="avbestall.aspx?id='<%# Eval("kop_id") %>'" />[X]</a></td> </tr> </ItemTemplate> <ItemStyle Wrap="False" /> <HeaderTemplate> a </HeaderTemplate> <FooterTemplate> a </FooterTemplate> </asp:DataList> Selecting event: protected void DataList1_ItemDataBound(object sender, DataListItemEventArgs e) { Label pris = (Label)e.Item.FindControl("bok_prisLabel"); LabelTotalt.Text = (Convert.ToDouble(LabelTotalt.Text) + Convert.ToDouble(pris.Text)).ToString(); } Why would this happen? Thanks

  • FieldRenderer - Get specific field name from different template sections

    - by Zooking
Hi, Is there a way to get a specific field name from a template with several sections to a FieldRenderer control? F.ex. I have a template with the sections "Data" and "Data2", both have a single-text-field called "Text". Is there a way to make my FieldRenderer get the field "Text" in section "Data2" It would be nice if one of the below suggestions worked: <sc:FieldRenderer ID="test" runat="server" FieldName="Text" Section="Data2" /> <sc:FieldRenderer ID="test" runat="server" FieldName="Data2/Text" /> BR Larre

  • ASP.NET MVC and ASP.NET membership template provider

    - by rem
In a standard ASP.NET MVC template application that is created by default in Visual Studio when starting a new ASP.NET MVC application there is already a built-in membership / authentication / authorization system. Using web search one can find lots of info about how to work with a built-in ASP.NET membership system, but very often this material is a bit of an old and refer to ASP.NET only, not mentioning ASP.NET MVC framework. Just for example: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms998347.aspx#paght000022%5Fmembershipapis or http://www.4guysfromrolla.com/articles/091207-1.aspx To what extent all that applies to ASP.NET built-in membership system applies also to ASP.NET MVC ready template membership system?

  • Entity Frameworks 4 - Changing the model does not update the T4 self tracking template files

    - by Darren
I am using self tracking entities and have moved the entity classes to another assembly by using 'Add as link' to point to the TT file as mentioned here. Now though, when I update the model (for instance change a property name) the template is not automatically run and so the entity class does not get updated. I can of course manually run the template to get the updates, but it would be easier if it ran automatically in the way it did before I moved the classes. Is there any way to achieve this? Darren.

  • problem with template inheritance

    - by amiad
    I'm trying to understand whay i get an error on this code: (the error is under g++ unix compiler. VS is compiling OK) template<class T> class A { public: T t; public: A(const T& t1) : t(t1) {} virtual void Print() const { cout<<*this<<endl;} friend ostream& operator<<(ostream& out, const A<T>& a) { out<<"I'm "<<typeid(a).name()<<endl; out<<"I hold "<<typeid(a.t).name()<<endl; out<<"The inner value is: "<<a.t<<endl; return out; } }; template<class T> class B : public A<T> { public: B(const T& t1) : A<T>(t1) {} const T& get() const { return t; } }; int main() { A<int> a(9); a.Print(); B<A<int> > b(a); b.Print(); (b.get()).Print(); return 0; } This code is giving the following error: main.cpp: In member function 'const T& B::get() const': main.cpp:23: error: 't' was not declared in this scope It did compiled when i changed the code of B to this: template<class T> class B : public A<T> { public: B(const T& t1) : A<T>(t1) {} const T& get() const { return A<T>::t; } }; I just cant understand what is the problem with the first code... It doesn't make sense that i really need to write "A::" every time...

  • Silverlight TabItem template not working correctly

    - by Savvas Sopiadis
Hello everybody! In a SL4 application i need to restyle my TabItems (actually add a button in the header). So i took the TabItem's control template from here and added the functionality i wanted. This seems to work fine, (i could dynamically add tabitems) with one exception: i think this posted control template is behaving somehow "arbitrary": every time the mouse hoovers over a non selected TabItem header, this gets selected WHITHOUT clicking!! (afaik this is not the default behavior: the user user has to click a header to make this tabitem the selected one). I tried to find why it is behaving like this, with no luck! Is there someone who can enlighten my darkness??? Thanks in advance!

  • Project name inserted automatically in url when using django template url tag

    - by thebossman
I am applying the 'url' template tag to all links in my current Django project. I have my urls named like so... url(r'^login/$', 'login', name='site_login'), This allows me to access /login at my site's root. I have my template tag defined like so... <a href="{% url site_login %}"> It works fine, except that Django automatically resolves that url as /myprojectname/login, not /login. Both urls are accessible. Why? Is there an option to remove the projectname? This occurs for all url tags, not just this one.

  • Load django template from the database

    - by Björn Lindqvist
Hello, Im trying to render a django template from a database outside of djangos normal request-response structure. But it appears to be non-trivial due to the way django templates are compiled. I want to do something like this: >>> s = Template.objects.get(pk = 123).content >>> some_method_to_render(s, {'a' : 123, 'b' : 456}) >>> ... the rendered output here ... How do you do this?

  • perl TemplateToolkit - Can't locate object method "new" via package

    - by simnom
Hi, I have inherited a web project that is perl based and I'm attempting to set up a local testing server so changes can be made internally to the project. The server architecture Ubuntu 9.10 php 5.2.10 mysql 5.1.37 perl 5.10.0-24ubuntu4 All the dependent modules and packages are installed such as DateTime.pm, TemplateToolkit.pm but running the application throws the following error message: Can't locate object method "new" via package "Template" (perhaps you forgot to load "Template"?) at ../lib//KPS/TemplateToolkit.pm line 51 The code block that this refers to is: sub new { return Template->new( INCLUDE_PATH => $KPS::Config::templatepath, ABSOLUTE => 1, DEBUG => 1, ); } If anybody is able to shed any light on this or point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Simnom

  • How to manually render a Django template for an inlineformset_factory with can_delete = True / False

    - by chefsmart
I have an inlineformset with a custom Modelform. So it looks something like this: MyInlineFormSet = inlineformset_factory(MyMainModel, MyInlineModel, form=MyCustomInlineModelForm) I am rendering this inlineformset manually in a template so that I have more control over widgets and javascript. So I go in a loop like {% for form in myformset.forms %} and then manually render each field as described on this page http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/topics/forms/#customizing-the-form-template The formset has can_delete = True or can_delete = False depending on whether the user is creating new objects or editing existing ones. Question is, how do I manually render the can_delete checkbox?

  • Using an NSButtonCell with template image in a NSTableView

    - by alloy
In Interface Builder, I have set the dataCell of one of the columns of my NSTableView instance to be NSButtonCell. This works as expected, however, trying to use a ‘template’ image doesn't yield the expected visual result when clicking the button. How I configure the NSButtonCell: Image: NSRevealFreestandingTemplate Scaling: None Bezel: Bevel Type: Momentary Push In Bordered: false Expected result when clicking the button: Since the image is a ‘template’, the button should render its ‘on’ state. The background, ie the space surrounding the image, should not change. Actual result when clicking the button: No difference in the ‘state’ of the rendered image. The background color changes to white. Even-though I’ve tried my best to make the explanation of the problem as concise as possible, I’ve also made a simple screencast to visually illustrate the problem. And uploaded the demo app.

  • What was your the most impressive technical programming achievement performed to impress a romantic

    - by DVK
OK, so the archetypal human story is for a guy to go out and impress the girl with some wonderful achievement like slaying a dragon or building a monument or conquering neighboring tribe. This being enlightened 21st century on SO, let's morph this into a: StackOverflower performing a feat of programming to impress a romantic interest. There are two ways to do this: Technical achievement: Impressing a person with suitable background/understanding of programming with actual coding powerss you displayed. A dumb movie example would be that kid in "Hackers" move showing off his hacking skills in front of Angeline Jolie. Artistic achievement: Impressing a person with a result of running said code, whether they understand just how incredible the code itself is. An example is the animated ANSI rose (for a guy who actually wrote the ANSI code) This question is only about the first kind (technical achievements) - e.g. the person of interest was presented with impressive code/design that (s)he was able to properly appreciate. Rules (what doesn't qualify): The target audience must have been a person of romantic interest (prospective or present significant other or random hook-up). E.g. showing your program to your sister who's also a software developer doesn't count. The achievement must have been done specifically with the goal to impress such a person. However, it is OK if the achievement was done to impress a generic qualifying person, not someone specific. Although... if you write code to impress girls in general, I'd say "get a better idea of the opposite sex" The achievement must have been done with the goal of impressing the person. In other words, if you would have done it without romantic interest's knowledge anyway, it doesn't count. As examples, the following does not count: programming for your job. Programming for a coding contest. Open Source program that you'd have done anyway. The precise nature of the awesomeness of the achievement is somewhat irrelevant - from learning entire J2EE in 2 days to writing fancy game engine to implementing Python compiler in LOGO. As long as it's programming/software development related. The achievement should preferably be something other people would rank highly as well. If your date was impressed with your skill at calculating Fibonacci sequence without recursive function calls, it doesn't mean most developers will be. But it does mean you need to start finding better things to do on dates ;)

  • Create a template mechanism in Objective-C for iPad applications

    - by Flex_Addicted
I'm looking for a solution to create a sort of template in Objective C. I'll try to explain my problem. I would create a sort of main view which has 1 side bar that remain always visible. This side bar have controls. The main view is responsible to load a Navigation Controller (UINavigationController seems to be ok) that manages other views. When switching a view to another, the sidebar always remain visible under the Navigation Controller and its views. Through the controls of the sidebar, it's possible to send event to a specific view loaded by the Navigation Controller. Any idea to create a similar template? Thank you. Best regards.

  • Merging two templates in iText

    - by Shaggy Frog
Let's say I have two PDF templates created with Adobe Acrobat, which are both single-page, 8.5x11 documents. The first template (A.pdf) has content for the top half of the page. The second template (B.pdf) has content for the bottom half of the page. (It just so happens the content in both templates does not "overlap" each other.) I would like to use iText to take these two templates and create a single, "merged" template from it (C.pdf) that is only a single page (with A.pdf's content on the top half and B.pdf's content on the bottom half). (I do not want to "merge" these two files into a 2-page document. I need the final product to be a single page.) I will be running iText in a servlet environment (Tomcat 6) but I don't think that makes a difference to the answer. Is this possible?

  • Easy way to apply Joomla template styling to my own content

    - by Joey Adams
I have an application that is mainly a bunch of PHP files included in a Joomla! application by Jumi. I want to make the site look nicer, but I'd rather not reinvent the wheel. There is a RocketTheme template installed on the site, and I'd like to be able to leverage it or some of the other CSS used alongside it. Specifically, I want to decorate tables. Should I search for and include CSS classes directly into my tags by searching through the template's classes, or is there a framework I could use that automatically adds the right classes based on the current theme?

  • CMS template creation and jQuery integration

    - by Fermin
Hi, First off I should say that I don't have any experience in working with a CMS. I have 2 general questions about CMS: How easy is it to create a template? I have strong CSS/XHTML skills, is creating a template as easy as writing the markup or does it have to be done in a very rigid way? How is jQuery support in CMS systems? I like what you can do with jQuery and would like to incorporate it into the next couple of sites that I will do. EDIT: So far answers are asking which CMS, I don't have any in mind. Any suggestions welcome, open source and non .NET preferable.

  • Ruby on Rails form_remote_tag missing template

    - by Donald Hughes
I'm using form_remote_tag(:url => {:controller => "home", :action => "search"}, :update => "mydiv"). When I click submit on the form "mydiv" is populated with the error "Template is missing. Missing template home/search.erb in view path app/views". I've tried multiple render options in def search, but they all result in the same error. It looks like the search method is trying to use it's default render even though I'm specifying what I want. I've tried: render 'index' render :text => 'Return this from my method!' Is my url incorrect? Is it not submitting back to my home controller's search method?

  • Problem creating PostGIS template database

    - by omat
I am trying to build a template geographic database for PostGIS (1.5) on Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) for my GeoDjango application. I am following: http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/ref/contrib/gis/install/#creating-a-spatial-database-template-for-postgis I've managed to come up to the point where the provided postgis.sql should be run (i.e. psql -d template_postgis -f $POSTGIS_SQL_PATH/postgis.sql) At that point I am getting an error at the first SQL statement that is tried to be run. When I try that on the psql prompt the result is as follows: template_postgis=# CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION st_spheroid_in(cstring) RETURNS spheroid AS '/usr/local/pgsql/lib/postgis-1.5','ellipsoid_in' LANGUAGE 'C' IMMUTABLE STRICT; NOTICE: type "spheroid" is not yet defined DETAIL: Creating a shell type definition. • 0 not a valid FILE* when provided as a template argument

    - by Seva Alekseyev
The following code #include <stdio.h> template <typename T, T v> class Tem { T t; Tem() { t = v; } }; typedef Tem<FILE*,NULL> TemFile; when compiled in a .mm file (Objective C++) by Xcode on MacOS X, throws the following error: error: could not convert template argument '0' to 'FILE*'. What's going on, please? The code in question compiled fine under MSVC. Since when is the 0 constant not a valid pointer to anything? Is this an artifact of Objective C++ (as opposed to vanilla C++)?
