  • Redirecting input to another view

    My application is working fine on the normal iPad display, but I also need to output to VGA out. When I do this, I need to add the view to the external screen's window which seems to mean that I can't use it to accept input from the iPad screen. I want to redirect input from the iPad's window to the window displaying on the external screen. As far as I can tell there's no standard method of doing this. I've tried overriding hitTest on the iPad's window view to send it to the window on the external display, but the coordinates seem to get messed up in the process which makes it nigh unusable. I've also tried subclassing the iPad's UIWindow and catching events in sendEvent, then trying to send them to the external window, but this doesn't seem to work at all. Any help would be appreciated, I'm happy to post any code you would like to see. Thanks, Jon

    I have a Category class that is defined like this: class Catergoy < ActiveRecord::Base acts_as_tree :parent_id I'd like the ordering to be by the position value which is a float such that: category-1 category-2, parent_id=1, position=0.5 category-3, parent_id=2, category-4, parent_id=1, position=1 How would I specify this? I tried acts_as_tree :parent_id :order => :position acts_as_tree :parent_id, :order => :position but these are not working. Any ideas how to specify this relationship? Or if I'm missing something else? thx in advance

In the view, i'm trying to take all the members from a classroom like that: def inside_classroom(request,classname): try: theclass = Classroom.objects.get(classname = classname) members = Members.objects.all() etc but it doesn't work,(though the db_table is named Classroom_Members) i guess i have to use another query for getting all the members from the classroom classname. also, i want to verify if the request.user is a member using (if request.user in members) how can i het those members? To do this I am trying to use a container in the master page Master Page - <asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="Foot" runat="server"></asp:ContentPlaceHolder> Partial view(ascx) <asp:Content ID="header" ContentPlaceHolderID="head" runat="server"> ... </asp:Content> But I get this error Parser Error Message: Content controls have to be top-level controls in a content page or a nested master page that references a master page. So how do I ensure that the Javascript for the partial view is at the bottom of the page? Especially in cases where the html layout needs to be at the top of the page?

    i am new in iphone development, i am using table view to list name of the student, what i want to do is i want to get the row number of the cell the user pressed , currently i can get the name(string) of the cell, //code in didSelectRowAtIndexPath //the obj.name where is a string, it works fine obj.name=[obj.studentname objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; //if i try obj.num , where num is nsinteger .i am getting errors of type i dnt understand obj.num=[[obj.studentname objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]count]; i even tried but i cant get the number. example if faizan lies on 12th cell. what i want to do is,is save 12 in a number and show it on the next view label.i cant put it in the variable thanks for your help in advance

    Hello, I have been working with a iPhone app that I would like to have switch views like the Palm Pre does for multitasking. I know the usual way of switching views by using the black bar at the bottom of the app but the app I am working on does not lend itself to having a big black bar in the way (see attached picture #1). I guess my question is, how do I shrink the current view (Current Location window) and show other views on the sides? (see attached picture #2) Then be able to swipe left and right to view other views.   • Simple ViewController / View, remove white bar?

    I am just looking at setting up a simple viewController programatically, I have a ViewController.xib file that I have set the background color to RED in interface builder. I have also added the following to my AppDelegate.m @implementation syntax_MapViewAppDelegate @synthesize window; -(BOOL)application:(UIApplication *)application didFinishLaunchingWithOptions:(NSDictionary *)launchOptions { viewController = [[MapViewController alloc] init]; [window addSubview:[viewController view]]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; return YES; } -(void)dealloc { [viewController release]; [window release]; [super dealloc]; } @end When I run the code it does what I expect apart from the white bar at the bottom of the screen, can anyone give me any pointers in how to remove this? I have a feeling I might need to position the view within the window, but I am not sure how? cheers Gary

    Hi, I have a tricky problem and I'm not sure where in the view rendering process to attempt this. I am building a simple blog/CMS in MVC and I would like to inject a some html (preferably a partial view) into the page if the user is logged in as an admin (and therefore has edit privileges). I obviously could add render partials to master pages etc. But in my system master pages/views are the "templates" of the CMS and therefore should not contain CMS specific <% % markup. I would like to hook in to some part of the rendering process and inject the html myself. Does anyone have any idea how to do this in MVC? Where would be the best point, ViewPage, ViewEngine?     I am a fan of Martin Fowler's (deprecated) model-view-presenter pattern. I am writing a Scala view class containing several button classes. I would like to include methods to set the action properties of the buttons, to be called by the presenter. A typical code fragment looks like this: private val aButton = new JButton def setAButtonAction(action: Action): Unit = { aButton.setAction(action) } This code is repeated for each button. If Java/Scala had the C preprocessor, I would create a macro to generate this code, given the button name (no lectures on the evils of the C preprocessor, please). This code is obviously very verbose and repetitive. Is there any better way way to do this in Scala, perhaps using traits? Please hold the lectures about scala.swing. I looking for a general pattern here.

However, it is unworkably verbose, will be a maintenance nightmare and is probably fairly inefficient with all the redundant object construction. Is there a simpler way of creating an index with the required structure (ViewA) given a collection of documents (DocA)? FURTHER INFORMATION The issue appears to be that in order to have the index hold the data in the transformed structure (ViewA), we have to do a Reduce. It appears that a Reduce must have both a GROUP ON and a SELECT in order to work as expected so the following are not valid: INVALID REDUCE CLAUSE 1: Reduce = results => from result in results group on new ViewA { Id = result.Id, Name = result.Name, CurrencyName = result.CurrencyName } into g select g.Key; This produces: System.InvalidOperationException: Variable initializer select must have a lambda expression with an object create expression Clearly we need to have the 'select new'. INVALID REDUCE CLAUSE 2: Reduce = results => from result in results select new ViewA { Id = result.Id, Name = result.Name, CurrencyName = result.CurrencyName }; This prduces: System.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast object of type 'ICSharpCode.NRefactory.Ast.IdentifierExpression' to type 'ICSharpCode.NRefactory.Ast.InvocationExpression'. Clearly, we also need to have the 'group on new'. Thanks for any assistance you can provide. (Note: removing the type (ViewA) from the constructor calls has no effect on the above)

    I've the following code to fetch events: $('#calendar').fullCalendar({ theme: true, slotMinutes: 10, header: { left: 'prev,next today', center: 'title', right: 'month,agendaWeek,agendaDay', }, defaultView: 'agendaDay', allDaySlot: false, editable: false, events: "/cgi-bin/shlk/getshlkruns.pl" }); The output from getshlkruns.pl is fairly simple json feed: [{'title': 'Successful','start': 1266398223,'end': 1266398266,'url': '/shlk/cgi-bin/getshlkrunlog.pl?i=21'}] There are several events like above (i've removed for brevity sake). So the above events show up when am in the month view but mysteriously absent when am in week or day view. What am doing wrong here? Thanks in advance for your answers.

  • OpenGL ES functions not accepting values originating outside of it's view

    I've been unable to figure this out on my own. I currently have an Open GLES setup where a view controller both updates a game world (with a dt), fetches the data I need to render, passes it off to an EAGLView through two structures (built of Apple's ES1Renderer), and draws the scene. Whenever a value originates outside of the Open GL view, it can't be used to either translate objects using glTranslatef, or set up the scene using glOrthof. If I assign a new value to something, it will work - even if it is the exact same number. The two structures I have each contain a variety of floating-point numbers and booleans, along with two arrays. I can log the values from within my renderer - they make it there - but I receive errors from OpenGL if I try to do anything with them. No crashes result, but the glOrthof call doesn't work if I don't set the camera values to anything different. Code used to set up scene: [EAGLContext setCurrentContext:context]; glBindFramebufferOES(GL_FRAMEBUFFER_OES, viewFramebuffer); //clears the color buffer bit glClear(GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT); glMatrixMode(GL_PROJECTION); //sets up the scene w/ ortho projection glViewport(0, 0, 320, 480); glLoadIdentity(); glOrthof(320, 0, dynamicData.cam_x2, dynamicData.cam_x1, 1.0, -1.0); glClearColor(1.0, 1.0, 1.0, 1.0); /*error checking code here*/ "dynamicData" (which is replaced every frame) is created within my game simulation. From within my controller, I call a method (w/in my simulation) that returns it, and pass the result on to the EAGLView, which passes it on to the renderer. I haven't been able to come up with a better solution for this - suggestions in this regard would be greatly appreciated as well.     I've been looking for an implementation (I'm using networkx library.) that will find all the minimum spanning trees (MST) of an undirected weighted graph. I can only find implementations for Kruskal's Algorithm and Prim's Algorithm both of which will only return a single MST. I've seen papers that address this problem (such as http://fano.ics.uci.edu/cites/Publication/Epp-TR-95-50.html) but my head tends to explode someway through trying to think how to translate it to code. In fact i've not been able to find an implementation in any language!

    How to sort (any kind of sorting) a key of a map(treemap or hashmap) i have a problem and it goes like this. i have a map that has a key of 27527-683, 27525-1179, 27525-1571, 27525-1813, 27525-4911, 27526-1303, 27526-3641, 27525-3989, 27525-4083, 27525-4670, 27526-4102, 27526-558, 27527-2411, 27527-4342 this is the list of keys and the value for each of the key is a list. now, how can i sort this key in ascending order by number. ex. if i want to sort : 1,2,11,20,31,3,10 i want to have as output is : 1,2,3,10,11,20,31 but when i use the autosort of treemap the output goes : 1,10,11,2,20,3,31 how can i sort it in ascending order by numeric? please help me. i can't think of anymore ways because this is my first time handling map and list

  • the callback sequence of viewDidAppear and viewDidDisappear between two view controllers

    As I know, there are at least two ways to present a UIViewController on another UIViewController, first is using presentModalViewController:animated: on UIViewController, another is using pushViewController:animated: on UINavigationController, it seems when 2 view controller changing their appearance, the invoke sequence of appear/disappear callbacks are different. Following is an example, A is a UINavigationController, and B is a normal view controller, the actual callback sequence are: (1) A using presentModalViewController:animated: to show B: [B viewWillAppear]; [A viewWillDisappear]; [B viewDidAppear]; [A viewDidDisappear]; (2) A using pushViewController:animated: to show B: [A viewWillDisappear]; [B viewWillAppear]; [A viewDidDisappear]; [B viewDidAppear]; So my question is that, are these different callback sequence stable, or there are no definite sequence we can rely on? If they are stable, is there any document mentions this behavior? Can anyone help? Thanks in advanced!

    Sup guys, heres my view: CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW SISTEMA.VWTELA AS SELECT TEL_DLTELA AS Tela, TEL_DLDESCRICAO As Descricao, TEL_DLTABELA As Tabela, CASE WHEN to_char(TEL_STATIVO) = to_char(1) THEN to_char('Yes') ELSE to_char('No') END as Ativo, TEL_IDTELA AS IDTEL FROM SISTEMA.TEL_TELA; When i do a SELECT * FROM SISTEMA.VWTELA it works fine from PL/SQL Developer but when i launch the query from my VB.NET application it throws me a super annoying error ORA-01722. Any ideas? The Application code works perfecty with any query so its not application code error but prolly some "super cool feature" from ODP.NET. Already tried to_number, to_whatever and same error always happens.

    Is it even possible to implement a binary heap using pointers rather than an array? I have searched around the internet (including SO) and no answer can be found. The main problem here is that, how do you keep track of the last pointer? When you insert X into the heap, you place X at the last pointer and then bubble it up. Now, where does the last pointer point to? And also, what happens when you want to remove the root? You exchange the root with the last element, and then bubble the new root down. Now, how do you know what's the new "last element" that you need when you remove root again?

  • Accessing GMail "View as HTML" content programatically?

    I love the "View as HTML" option in GMail when viewing attachments. I would love to be able to use this feature programatically, i.e. check a GMail inbox, read emails, if there are attachments, get the html view and use that content. I'm looking to do this in C Sharp (on a Mac, can't find the hash symbol). Does anyone know if this is possible or if there's another solution to easily get content from a GMail account, regardless of what format it's in? I.E html, pdf, Word doc, etc. The GMail Inbox Feed api isn't good enough and before I start trying to build an IMAP solution that pulls in PDF/Word doc converters, I thought it'd be good to ask here.

  • C# WebClient - View source question

    I'm using a C# WebClient to post login details to a page and read the all the results. The page I am trying to load includes flash (which, in the browser, translates into HTML). I'm guessing it's flash to avoid being picked up by search engines??? The flash I am interested in is just text (not an image/video) etc and when I "View Selection Source" in firefox I do actually see the text, within HTML, that I want to see. (Interestingly when I view the source for the whole page I do not see the text, within HTML, that I want to see. Could this be related?) Currently after I have posted my login details, and loaded the HTML back, I see the page which does NOT show the flash HTML (as if I had viewed source for the whole page). I need to export a PDF in a controller The code below, where I return a View, works as expected. @RequestMapping(method = RequestMethod.GET) public View exportReport( @RequestParam(value = "userName", required = true) String userName, @RequestParam(value = "startDate", required = true) Date startDate, @RequestParam(value = "endDate", required = true) Date endDate) { /////////////////////////////////////////// return new TimeSheetReportPdfView(); } The problem occurs if I change the method to return a ModelAndView: @RequestMapping(method = RequestMethod.GET) public ModelAndView exportReport( @RequestParam(value = "userName", required = true) String userName, @RequestParam(value = "startDate", required = true) Date startDate, @RequestParam(value = "endDate", required = true) Date endDate) { /////////////////////////////////////////// return new ModelAndView(new TimeSheetReportPdfView(), model); } Now, the PDF is not exported, all I get is a blank page and nothing in the logs.
