  Hi I wonder how can I implement the STL map sorting by value. For example, I have a map m map<int, int>; m[1] = 10; m[2] = 5; m[4] = 6; m[6] = 1; and then.. I'd like to sort that with the m's value. So, if I print the map, I'd like to get the result like m[6] = 1 m[2] = 5 m[4] = 6 m[1] = 10 this. How can I sort like this way? Is there any way that I can deal with the key and value with sorted values?

  I am trying to add a CASE statement to the end of my SQL query to compute a value depending upon another table value and a previously computed value in the SELECT. The error is returned that DelivCount is an invalid column name. Is there a better way to do this or am I missign something? • Retrieving/Updating Entity Framework POCO objects that already exist in the ObjectContext

  I have a project using Entity Framework 4.0 with POCOs (data is stored in SQL DB, lazyloading is enabled) as follows: public class ParentObject { public int ID {get; set;} public virtual List<ChildObject> children {get; set;} } public class ChildObject { public int ID {get; set;} public int ChildRoleID {get; set;} public int ParentID {get; set;} public virtual ParentObject Parent {get; set;} public virtual ChildRoleObject ChildRole {get; set;} } public class ChildRoleObject { public int ID {get; set;} public string Name {get; set;} public virtual List<ChildObject> children {get; set;} } I want to create a new ChildObject, assign it a role, then add it to an existing ParentObject. Afterwards, I want to send the new ChildObject to the caller. The code below works fine until it tries to get the object back from the database. The newChildObjectInstance only has the ChildRoleID set and does not contain a reference to the actual ChildRole object. I try and pull the new instance back out of the database in order to populate the ChildRole property. Unfortunately, in this case, instead of creating a new instance of ChildObject and assigning it to retreivedChildObject, EF finds the existing ChildObject in the context and returns the in-memory instance, with a null ChildRole property. public ChildObject CreateNewChild(int id, int roleID) { SomeObjectContext myRepository = new SomeObjectContext(); ParentObject parentObjectInstance = myRepository.GetParentObject(id); ChildObject newChildObjectInstance = new ChildObject() { ParentObject = parentObjectInstance, ParentID = parentObjectInstance.ID, ChildRoleID = roleID }; parentObjectInstance.children.Add(newChildObjectInstance); myRepository.Save(); ChildObject retreivedChildObject = myRepository.GetChildObject(newChildObjectInstance.ID); string assignedRoleName = retreivedChildObject.ChildRole.Name; //Throws exception, ChildRole is null return retreivedChildObject; } I have tried setting MergeOptions to Overwrite, calling ObjectContext.Refresh() and ObjectContext.DetectChanges() to no avail...   I want to select and group the products, and rank them by the number of times they occur. For example, I have an OrderList each of order object has a OrderProductVariantList(OrderLineList), and each of OrderProductVariant object has ProductVariant, and then the ProductVariant object will have a Product object which contains product information. A friend helped me with the following code. It could be compiled, but it did not return any value/result. I am trying to make the format: /module/value/controller/action give /module/controller/action passing on value as a parameter e.g. /store/johnsmithbigsale/home/newstuff would route to /store/home/newstuff passing on johnsmithbigsale as the value to a parameter with a hidden namespace e.g. storeName.   I inherited a mysql database that has a table with columns like this: object_id, property, value It holds data like this: 1,first_name,Jane 1,last_name,Doe 1,age,10 1,color,red 2,first_name,Mike 2,last_name,Smith 2,age,20 2,color,blue 3,first_name,John 3,last_name,Doe 3,age,20 3,color,red ... Basically what I want to do is treat this table as a regular table. How would I get the id numbers (or all properties) of a person who is age 20 sorted by last and than first name? • Lock HTML select element, allow value to be sent on submit

  I have a select box (for a customer field) on a complex order form, when the user starts to add lines to the order they should not be allowed to change the customer select box (unless all lines are deleted). My immediate thought was that I could use the disabled attribute, but when the box is disabled the selected value is no longer passed to the target. When the problem arose a while ago one of the other developers worked around this by looping through all the options and disabling all but the selected option, and sure enough the value was passed to the target and we've been using since. But now I'm looking for a proper solution, I don't want to loop through all the options because are data is expanding and it's starting to introduce performance issues. I'd prefer not to enable this / all the elements when the submit button is hit. How can I lock the input, whilst maintaining the selected option and passing that value to the target script? I would prefer a non-JavaScript solution if possible, but if needed we are running jQuery 1.4.2 so that could be used.

• Passing objects to a UITypeEditor

  I am currently hoping to use a PropertyGrid to allow users to edit some of my classes, however I've hit a wall with passing objects to the UITypeEditor(s) they use. When the user presses the drop down I want to show a listbox of already loaded textures to choose from, if they want to use a texture the application hasn't loaded yet they can click a button to choose one from a file dialog. In case I make no sense here a mock of the form: . My problem: To fill the listbox I need access to the class that manages the list of resources from the UITypeEditor. Now I've solved this problem for my own classes by giving them a reference on creation to their managing object. In the UITypeEditor I then use that reference to access what I need. However I can't do this for classes I haven't written, such as the XNA Texture2D class. Here are what the classes I'm using look like: class StaticGeometryChunk { // Geometry data to draw with. Contains a reference to its managing // class for use in its UITypeEditor. public GeometryData { get; set; } .... } class Material { // These are XNA classes. I can't just add a reference to its managing // class (I think?). public Texture2D Texture1 { get; set; } public Texture2D Texture2 { get; set; } .... } I've been looking at my options and they seem to be: Make the managing classes static. I don't really want to do this. There are several managing classes as each resource is loaded differently. There are also classes that need to be created before these and are passed in. Make the managing classes singletons. I don't really want to do this either. It seems like a quick and dirty way to "hide" the problem instead of "solve" it. I also might want the option of having several managing classes in the future which the singletons eliminate. Create a wrapper class which holds the reference to a managing class and its target (such as the XNA Texture2D). This is currently what I'm thinking of doing. Its would be quite simple and quick to do but something about it nags me but I don't know what. Any thoughts on the above or other methods to pass what I need into the UITypeEditor? It will be for English/Spanish word look-up, where: each value is an array containing all the conjugated verbs in English AND Spanish. each (two) keys contains both an English infinitive (e.g. "to be", "to go") and a Spanish infinitive This way, I can look a word up regardless of language based on the values having two keys per value. • jQuery Validation using the class instead of the name value

  Hi, I'd like to validate a form using the jquery validate plugin, but I'm unable to use the 'name' value within the html - as this is a field also used by the server app. Specifically, I need to limit the number of checkboxes checked from a group. (Maximum of 3.) All of the examples I have seen, use the name attribute of each element. • Dojo slider: update value dynamically

  I am building an application where the user browses certain objects by scrolling and zooming. To change the zoom level I have successfully implemented a "dijit.form.HorizontalSlider" object. Every time the user changes the position of the silder, I can catch the "onChange" call and do something with that. However, the user can also zoom-in by double clicking inside the view zone, at which point the slider should change position automatically to reflect the new zoom level. My question is the following: what function or method should I call in my javascript to update the position of a dojo silder ? • How to check value of stored procedure output parameter

  I have a stored procedure that: A. inserts some rows into a "table variable" based on some joins B. selects all values from column x from that table into a string with comma separated values C. selects all from the "table variable" If I execute the procedure like this: EXEC CatalogGetFilmDetails2 2,111111; a table is returned as instructed per step C above. How can I execute it so that also the output parameter value is displayed? (see point B above). I need to check if it's calculated properly. And since the second parameter is of output type, meaning it's calculated inside the procedure, why is it mandatory to specify a value for it when executing the procedure? I normally use a random value for it, it anyway doesn't matter/impact the result. On the other hand if I try to execute it without the output parameter, it returns an error) Thank you very much!   The standard SQL aggregate function max() will return the highest value in a group; min() will return the lowest. Is there an aggregate function in Oracle to return a random value from a group? Or some technique to achieve this? E.g., given the table foo: group_id value 1 1 1 5 1 9 2 2 2 4 2 8 The SQL query select group_id, max(value), min(value), some_aggregate_random_func(value) from foo group by group_id; might produce: group_id max(value), min(value), some_aggregate_random_func(value) 1 9 1 1 2 8 2 4 with, obviously, the last column being any random value in that group.

I have initialized bundle via <f:loadBundle basename="ui.all.bundles.AppResources_en" var="msg"/> When i need to translate some text, i am using a key to resourceBundle, to get a value of it, for example: #{msg.someText}. But, now i want to translate text, which key is a value of another variable. For example: I have variable String textToTransl. It`s value is status_booked. In my AppResources is defined, that status_booked means "It is booked!", so, when i am pointing it to #{msg.textToTransl} i need to see "It is booked!" How can i make it work?

  Lets say I have the following array: my_array = [1, 5, 8, 11, -6] I need to iterate over this array and add the values prior to the current value together. An example will probably be easier to understand. I need to return an array that should look something like this: final_array = [1, 6, 14, 25, 19] I have tried doing something like this: my_array.collect {|value| value + previous_values } But obviously that doesn't work because I can't figure out how to get the previous values in the array. I am a programming noob so this might be easier than I am making it. I am pretty sure I need to use either collect or inject, but I can't seem to figure out how to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

  I have a need to convert a string value in the form "YYYYMMDDHHMMSS" to a DateTime. But not sure on how, may be a DateTime.Tryparse can be used to make this happen. Or is there any other way to do it. I can do this using some string operations to take "YYYYMMDD" alone, convert to a datetime and then add HH, MM, SS separately to that DateTime. But is there any DateTime.TryParse() methods that I can use in one line to convert a "YYYYMMDDHHMMSS" format string value to a DateTime value?

  Hello, I am at the end of my knowledge and googled for the answer too but no luck :/ Week ago everything worked well. I did a revert on the repository, recreated the tableadapter etc... nothing helped.
