• Spring MVC 3.0: Avoiding explicit JAXBElement<> wrapper in method arg

  I have the following method and want to avoid having to explicitly show the JAXBElement< syntax. Is there some sort of annotation that would allow the method to appear to accept raw MessageResponse objects but in actuality work the same as shown below?   Hi, What are the limitations of Kohana 3 ORM regarding table relationships? I'm trying to modify the build-in Auth module in order to accept groups of users in adition, having now the following tables : groups groups_users roles roles_groups users user_tokens By default, this module is set to work without groups, and linking the users and roles using a third table named roles_users, but I need to add groups to it. I'm linking, as you can see by the names, the groups to users and the roles to groups, but I'm failing building the ORM code for it, so that's pretty much the question here, if ORM is limited to 2 relationships or if it can handle 3 in this case.   I need to find all matches of word which strictly begins with "$" and contains only digits. So I wrote [$]\d+ which gave me 4 matches for $10 $10 $20a a$20 so I thought of using word boundaries using \b: [$]\d+\b But it again matched a$20 for me. I tried \b[$]\d+\b but I failed. I'm looking for saying, ACCEPT ONLY IF THE WORD STARTS WITH $ and is followed by DIGITS. How do I tell IT STARTS WITH $, because I think \b is making it assume word boundaries which means surrounded inside alphanumeric characters. What is the solution?

• Excel 2003 VSTO convert to PDF

  I have an excel workbook vsto solution that needs to generate a pdf copy of one of its sheets as output. I have a license for abcdpdf .net and tried outputting to html, then using abcpdf to convert the html to pdf, but the excel html markup tries to emulate excel with all 4 worksheets with horrible markup. It also messes up the colors (silver background across entire workbook). Any suggestions? Here is the code I'm currently using to generate the html file: FileInfo excelDoc = new FileInfo(Globals.ThisWorkbook.Path + @"\Document.html"); Globals.Sheet2.SaveAs(excelDoc.FullName, Excel.XlFileFormat.xlHtml, missing, missing, false, false, Excel.XlSaveAsAccessMode.xlNoChange, missing, missing, missing); If I hack away some of the html header tags manually, I can get abcdpf to accept it, but the formatting is a bit off and this solution seems sub optimal. • OpenCV to use in memory buffers or file pointers

  The two functions in openCV cvLoadImage and cvSaveImage accept file path's as arguments. For example, when saving a image it's cvSaveImage("/tmp/output.jpg", dstIpl) and it writes on the disk. Is there any way to feed this a buffer already in memory? So instead of a disk write, the output image will be in memory. I would also like to know this for both cvSaveImage and cvLoadImage (read and write to memory buffers). Thanks! My goal is to store the Encoded (jpeg) version of the file in Memory. Same goes to cvLoadImage, I want to load a jpeg that's in memory in to the IplImage format.

When task is executed by scheduler it is starting a global transaction, but in our application we are creating a new connection to another database and explicitly commiting the data and closing the connection. This data source configured using non-XA driver datasource. For the application we have also enabled the Accept heuristic hazard (Last participant support extension) . • Continuous output in Neural Networks

  How can I set Neural Networks so they accept and output a continuous range of values instead of a discrete ones? From what I recall from doing a Neural Network class a couple of years ago, the activation function would be a sigmoid, which yields a value between 0 and 1. If I want my neural network to yield a real valued scalar, what should I do? I thought maybe if I wanted a value between 0 and 10 I could just multiply the value by 10? What if I have negative values? Is this what people usually do or is there any other way? What about the input? Thanks

  I'd like to be able to do a code-level diff between two assemblies; the Diff plug-in for Reflector is the closest thing I've found so far, but to compare the entire assembly is a manual process requiring me to drill-down into every namespace/class/method. The other tools I've found so far appear to be limited to API-level (namespaces, classes, methods) differences--which won't cut it for what I'm looking for. Does anyone know of such a tool? My requirements (from highest to lowest) are: Be able to analyze / reflect the code content of two versions of the same assembly and report the differences Accept a folder or group of assemblies as input; quickly compare them (similar to WinMerge's folder diff's) Quick ability to determine if two assemblies are equivalent at the code level (not just the API's) Allow easy drill-down to view the differences Exporting of reports regarding the differences (Personally I like WinMerge for text diffs, so an application with a similar interface would be great)

• Start thread with two parameters

  I've got a method that gets called on an event, which presents me with two variables varA, varB (both strings). This method gets called with new information quite frequently, thus I have created a separate method that takes in the two parameters. I want to run this method in a thread, however have struck the issue that Thread.Start will not accept parameters. I've tried a few supposed methods, but have so far had no luck.. I think my best bet is to create a separate class, and handle it there.. However I have a List which I am inserting data into, and hit a dead end when the separate class tried to access that list, since it was in a different class. Can someone help me out here please?

  I have a database on line with Godaddy (who uses SQL Server 2005). They provide basic management tools, but tell you that for more advanced tools you can connect directly using SSMS. I followed their instructions to ensure my online database will accept remote connections, and can apparently log in using SSMS with success (after giving my hostname and access data). • Launching desired version of XCode from Finder

  My google-fu has failed me, and I guess this may be basic OS X/Xcode knowledge but.... When I double click .xcodeproj files, I'm getting the Beta I have installed launching instead of the stable release - which is the one I actually want. I have tried changing the launch program in the finder info window, but it always displays as "Xcode" and doesn't seem to accept that there are different versions - even though it offers them to me in the drop down list. Is there an xcode setting for this? Thanks.

  I'm implementing a ruby server for handling sockets being created from GPRS modules. The thing is that when the module powers down, there's no indication that the socket closed. I'm doing threads to handle multiple sockets with the same server. What I'm asking is this: Is there a way to use a timer inside a thread, reset it after every socket input, and that if it hits the timeout, closes the thread? Where can I find more information about this? • NSIS Uninstaller Working Directory

  I am using NSIS to create my installers/uninstallers, and the uninstaller seems to have a weird behavior. I don't put the installer in $INSTDIR, it is located at $INSTDIR/subdir/uninstall.exe (it's a addon installer for a host application). When I run the installer then, it thinks the application installation root is $INSTDIR/subdir instead of $INSTDIR. It then can't find all the files in subdir/* as it's already in subdir. If I move the executable, it seems to just accept the current directory as where the application installation root is. I can move it to $INSTDIR and all is well. Thanks.

  I have a form that allows users to enter a date of birth: ie: 4/16/40 Then when the user processes the form there's a function that checks it's length, adds leading zeros, parses the date and then uses FormatDateTime to just return the year of birth: strTemp := strPostedByDOB; If Length(strTemp) = 5 then strTemp = '0' + strTemp; if Length(strTemp) = 6 then begin strTemp := Copy(strTemp, 1 ,2) + '/' + copy(strTemp, 3, 2) + '/' + Copy(strTemp, 5, 2); strTemp := FormatDateTime('YYYY', StrToDate(strTemp)); end else strTemp := EmptyStr; using this code the strTemp is calculated as 2040 instead of 1940. Can anyone help me figure out how to make it show 1940 in strTemp? Do I have to change the form to accept a 4 digit year? Thanks, Leslie

  Hey, I have been given a general explanation of how a computer boots up. However a very loose definition to the term 'boot file' was given. Could someone explain 'boot file' to me in a very simple but concise manner? I have read about the POST, the clearing of registers, BIOS in the CMOS, etc. What I understand is that the boot file is different to the boot program. the boot program gets the system ready to accept an OS while the boot file contains some of the parameters by which the system will operate.   I have a WCF service returning JSON to jQuery ajax calls and presenting the results on an ASPX page. When the page is NOT under SSL, the ajax calls work perfectly. When the page IS under SSL, the calls fail. I understand that this behavior must be due to the Same Origin Policy (SOP). So, how do I setup my WCF service to accept calls from an SSL-secured page? Does the WCF service also need to be secured? If so, how do I do this? Thanks, Joe
