  • Why doesn't this html/css work in ie?

    I am just trying to center a div on the page. It works in chrome but in i.e. the div is still on the left: <html> <head></head> <body> <div id="container" style="margin:0 auto; width:200px;"> test </div> </body> </html> Everything I've read has said that to center a block element, simply add margin:0 auto and specify a width, so I don't know why this isn't working.     Hello, I am planning to use Auto reset Event Handle for Inter Thread communication. EventWaitHandle handle = new EventWaitHandle(false, EventResetMode.AutoReset); My producer thread code look like below produceSomething(); handle.Set(); In the consumer thread, I have to download data for every one minute or when prodcuer is called Set method try { while(true) { handle.WaitOne(60000, false); doSomething(); - downloads data from internet. takes lot of time to complete it. } } catch(ThreadAbortException) { cleanup(); } My question is if consumer thread is running doSomething funtion and producer calls set function, what would be state of Auto reset event object? My requreiment is as soon as producer calls set method i have to downlaod fresh data from intenet . If doSomething function is running, when Producer calls set method, i have to interrupt it and call again. Any help is appreciated. Regards Raju

  • Move websites from IIS7 to IIS 7.5

    Can anyone suggest the best way of moving websites on server1 with IIS7 to server2 with IIS 7.5 on it? I've read some articles which suggest copying the applicationHost.config file while preserving the configProtectedData node, but I'm concerned there may be settings in the IIS 7.5 config that don't exist in the current IIS7 config which would be lost. I've also seen suggestions of moving each site individually by using a command like this: AppCmd.exe LIST SITE "My Site" /config /XML mysite.xml This method just takes too long to do this for dozens of sites. There must be a better way of moving all the sites at once to the new platform.

    I'm not sure if this is doable, but I would like to be able to set a jQuery UI event as a function (directly), as opposed to continuing to wrap in additional function(event, ui) { ... } wrappers. Hopefully you can see what I'm going for from the example below.     I'm using the built-in Calendar control. It works, but in a few places the way the HTML is rendered is broken or not CSS-friendly and unfortunately cannot be changed (it's hard coded). I was hoping they would fix this in .NET 4.0, but as far as I can tell the Calendar control hasn't been changed at all. Also, as far as I know, there's no CSS adapter for the Calendar control. So, I would need a control that would: Allow me to customize the content of each cell (like OnDayRender works) Allow me to assign CSS classes to any HTML it may render Not render anything automatically that cannot be turned off, except layout code No auto-postback or auto-JS code (I can handle these by hand using simple links or custom JS calls) Basically a simple calendar view control that would give me full rendering control. What would you recommend? Thanks!

  • Third-party dll's in a website layout

    I have a solution with several projects and one website. The website uses some third-party dll's. I have to place the dll's in the bin folder under the website. This is the same bin where the dll's from the other projects get auto-loaded. Is there a way I can place the third-party dll's in a separate folder? If I 'Add Reference' to the dll when it is in a separate folder, VS always adds it to the GAC. If the separate folder is outside of the website layout, 'Add Reference' never works. My goal is have the bin folder only for auto-updated dll's, and a separate folder for third-party dll's. [This method works fine for the projects; just the website has issues]

I have a Question in the forum which suggest how to merge two wav file i.e add the contents of one wav file at certain offset,but i want to join two wav file at the end of each other... And also i had a prob playing the my own wav file,using winsound module..I was able to play the sound but using the time.sleep for certain time before playin any windows sound,disadvantage wit this is if i wanted to play a sound longer thn time.sleep(N),N sec also,the windows sound wil jst overlap after N sec play the winsound nd stop..   • Creating standalone, console (shell) for domain-specific operations

    Say that I have a system service, and I want to offer a low-level maintenance access to it. For that purpose, I'd like to create a standalone, console application that somehow connects to server process and lets user type in commands, allow it to use auto-completion and auto-suggestion on single/double TAB press (just like linux bash shell, mysql cli, cmd.exe, and countless others), allow command line editing capabilities (history, cursor keys to move around text..), etc. Now, it's not that much of a problem to create something like that by rolling my own from scratch, handling user input, scanning pressed keys, and doing correct actions. But, why reinvent the wheel? Is there some library/framework that helps with this kind of problems, just like readline library that offers improved command-line editing capabilities under linux? Of course, this new "shell" would respond only to valid, domain-specific commands, and would suggest valid arguments, options, switches... Any ideas? Thanks!

  • How to restrict html body width when not displayed on iPhone?

    I have set up a web page to look good on the small screen of an iPhone, but when viewed on the desktop, and going right across the width of the browser, it looks terrible. Is there a way I can restrict the width to say, 480px when viewed on a big screen? I tried body { margin-left:auto; margin-right:auto; max-width:480px; } but it seems to just set the width at 480px, even on an iPhone on portrait mode.

Via virtual machine manager I try to choose any interface it gives me interface not bridged When I try to bridge the interceface eth0 as below auto br0 iface br0 inet static address 192.168.0.223 network 192.168.0.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.0.255 gateway 192.168.0.1 bridge_ports eth0 bridge_fd 9 bridge_hello 2 bridge_maxage 12 bridge_stp off I cannot communicate with this interface to network, host server looses all the communication to network. But when I remote bridge interface from /etc/network/interfaces And configure eth0 as below it works fine The primary network interface auto eth0 iface eth0 inet static address 192.168.0.223 netmask 255.255.255.0 network 192.168.0.0 broadcast 192.168.0.255 dns-nameservers 62.215.6.51 gateway 192.168.0.1 how can i setup bridge interface correctly and how would my /etc/netwrok/interfaces file would look a like.
