    I have a php array that has a bunch of data that I need but specifically I need just the name and longitude and latitude from each item in the array so that I can display points on a google map. The google map array needs to look like this in the end var points = [ ['test name', 37.331689, -122.030731, 4] ['test name 2', 37.331689, -122.030731, 4] ]; What is the best way to put my php data into a js array?

  • Android: Constructing a triangle based on Geographical information

    Hi Guys, I'm constructing a geolocation based application and I'm trying to figure out a way to make my application realise when a user is facing the direction of the given location (a particular long / lat co-ord). I've got the math figured, I just have the triangle to construct. Here's a further clarification of what I want to do.. I just want to know is there a way to get java to construct 2 other co-ordinates based on my orientation in relation to true north and my current co-ordinate? I'd like to construct a tri-angle, 45 degrees out each way of my current location (one of the points) and 1 kilometer in that direction. The problem is I don't know how to make Android/Java recognise that I want to find that point in the direction I'm currently facing.. Anyone got any ideas?

    Hello, my Question is as follows: What does GEvent.addListener(map, "click" function(){...}) return into the callback function? I don't find any information in the GMaps reference at all, can you show me some? The only thing I found out was that there are two parameters, "overlay" and "latLng" that are passed. The name of these parameters should not be of interest right? I could also name them "foo" and "bar" as far as I know. But the parameter "overlay" seems to be empty anyway? Also I have problems passing these two parameters directly into a callback function I created myself which looks like that... GEvent.addListener(gmap, "click", generateMarker(overlay, latLng)); ... instead of writing the following, which actually works fine. GEvent.addListener(gmap, "click", function(overlay, latLng) { generateMarker(overlay, latLng); });

    Hey there, Ok so this is what i've got. Button anandabutton = (Button) findViewById(R.id.anandaAddressButton); anandabutton.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View view) { Intent myIntent = new Intent(view.getContext(),MapClass.class); startActivityForResult(myIntent,0); } }); This method opens up my MapClass class which at the moment I just have set to show the location of one place. But I have a load of buttons and rather than making a lot of different mapClass classes for each button, I am wondering can I just use the one class and depending on what button 'id' is pressed, it will check an 'if statement' and then put in the correct coordinates into the method to display the map. It would be a lot neater than coding up like 20-30 classes. I'm not sure if i've explained that right so if not let me know. Thanks for any help.

    I am using wordpress as a CMS and trying to allow user fields to be input to populate the info windows in a Google Map script. I looked at htmlspcialchar and htmlentities but rather than strip everything out I would like to have it escaped so it still works and the html is intact. Any suggestions? I am pretty new to PHP and would really appreciate any pointers.

  • Android Development-cannot download an image outside of onCreate

    hi everyone...... im new to android development........and i am stuck with a problem...... i am trying to develop an android application that shows the user the location of atms,hotels etc on a google map....i havent started working on the gps yet.as of now the app works something like this....first of all a map loads on which i intend to show the users current location......on clicking on the menu button there are 3 options..... -services -about us -quit on selecting services option the following options are available...... -atm -hospital -hotel etc on selecting the atm option we will be shown a screen displaying some text........ on using the menu for this screen we get the following menu items..... -sbi -canara -hdfc -icici etc my intention is that when the user selects the sbi option a map should load showing the various places where there are sbi atms near where the user is currently...... ......i started out with the google map api but i had to quit because when i select one of the menu options, such as "sbi",the map doesnt load......instead i am getting the error "application failed to load"...basically i was trying to load a map activity from my first map activity......after googling a bit without any results i tried another approach.......i tried to download and view the static map of the location i wanted..it worked.......but when i tried to download the static map when i select an option like before i get the same error..."application failed to load"...then i tried downloading 2 images from inside onCreate....that worked.......i cannot do the same thing outside the onCreate.....for eg.inside the function for the selected option... i have given the link to my code below..... if someone can please look into this it would be of great help to me.........i have been sitting with this problem for days now......and its urgent too.......i have done the project in eclipse....... httpDownload.java --- http://dpaste.com/195981/

    Can I pass events like key strokes to another control in Silverlight? Imagine I'm in a custom control that contains a Textbox and a Treeview. I'm listening to a Key event for the TextBox. When the user pushes the Arrow Up or Arrow Down key, I want the Treeview to behave as if it's itself who received that event, i.e. it should move the current selection up or down. The user shouldn't lose focus on the TextBox though so that they can continue typing. Is this possible? I don't want to set the selection manually on the Treeview because it has no easy MoveSelectionUp() or MoveSelectionDown() method, so I would have to duplicate that functionality which is not so trivial especially when the tree is databound and loads nodes on demand.

  • What method can I override in GridViewHeaderRowPresenter to prevent it from drawing some columns?

    The thing is that I created a custom column that inherits from GridViewColumn, and I added a Visibility dependency property to it. Now I want to create a custom GridViewHeaderRowPresenter, that does not draw the columns when their visibility is hidden or collapsed, but other than the OnRender() method, I can't think of anything else. Thanks. Btw, the reason I'm doing this is because removing or adding columns doesn't work like we would expect it (some specs for our app) and I believe what I'm trying to do here would work if pulled out correctly.

    Hi everyone, I'd like to know (from a high level view) what would be required to take a pdf floor plan of a building and determine where exactly you are on that floor plan using GPS coordinates? In addition to location, the user would be presented with a "turn by turn" directions to another point on the map, navigating down hallways, between cubicles, etc. Use case: an iPhone app that determined a user's location and guided them to a conference room or person's office in the building. I realize that this is by no means trivial, but any help is appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi! I want to create editable combo box with the following properties: 1. Bind the text property to my data model. 2. The data model may override the changes in the GUI, even in Selection changed. E.g. I can choose from 1, 2, 3 I choose 2, but some component down under changes it to 3. 3. Update the data model on the following events: 1. Selection Changed 2. Lose focus 3. Enter pressed (should behave the same as lost focus). I've been able to create such control, but it's pretty ugly (using many hacks) and I hoped there's a simpler way… Thanks in advance

    I'm getting some problems trying Google Geocoding service when using special characters like "º" or letters with accents. Whenever I try something like: "barcelona, nº 10" I get 0 results. But trying: "barcelona n 10" I get results... I suspect is something related with encoding. I tried this: geocoder.geocode({'address': encodeURI( $('#direction').val() )}, function(){} ); But didn't help. Any Idea?

The textblocks need to support wrapping, the listbox should not expand, and there should be no horizontal scrollbar. Here's the code I have so far. Also, if you add a few more items to the listbox (just cut and paste in XamlPad) causing the vertical scrollbar to appear, the width of the textblocks do not resize to the vertical scrollbar. How do I keep the textblocks inside the listbox, with or without the vertical scrollbar?

  • Labelsize appears bigger in VB.Net

    I'm trying to stack a few lists on top of each other. But the label.size.height appears to be bigger then the label itself. When i set the borderstyle to fixedsingle, i see the border around the text. But the height is bigger, so there comes a space between one label and the next. I have tried to set margin and padding to 0 without result. Exemple: label.size.height return 23, when the height actually is something around 15. Does someone knows how i get the right size? Edit: When i explicitly set the height of the lable, the problem is solved. Is this some problem with autosize?

  • Different results between Android Geocoder and Google Geocoding web service

    I am creating an Android application and I need to use the geolocation. I have started by using the Geocoder API from Android (android.location.geocoder) but it causes some issues (timed out waiting for response from server) which seem to be common according to what I have read. To make my application work when this kind of error occurs, I use the Geocoding web service. Now, the application works every time. The problem is that the results returned by the geocoder from API and the geocoder from the web service are not the same. For example the web service returns only 3 addresses with only city name and country whereas the geocoding from the API returns about 8 addresses with the feature name, the thoroughfare, the locality... The question is: is there a way to make the results from the web service exactly the same than the ones from the API? EDIT Here is my MainGeocoder class: public class MainGeocoder { private Geocoder geocoderAPI; private GeocoderRest geocoderRest; public MainGeocoder(Context context) { geocoderAPI = new Geocoder(context); geocoderRest = new GeocoderRest(context); } public List<Address> getFromLocationName(String search, int maxResults) { List<Address> addresses; try { addresses = geocoderAPI.getFromLocationName(search, maxResults); return addresses; } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); try { addresses = geocoderRest.getFromLocationName(search, maxResults); return addresses; } catch (IOException e1) { return null; } catch (LimitExceededException e1) { return null; } } } } It basically tries to get the list of addresses from the API Geocoder.     I was using something like public int Test(System.Windows.Forms.ListBox.ObjectCollection Colecction) { } With this I want to pass just the ObjectCollection of the control, to sort, add and delete elements without passing the entire control, but someone told me that, this way of calling the collection, actualy, create an entire ListBox, making it a worst decition, than, passing a ListBox as a parameter. Is it true? An if, what's the best way of working whit the collection?
