  • Windows 7 Complete PC Backup - Fails with error code: 0x80070002

    While doing a Complete PC Backup in Windows 7 I received dialog reading: Windows Backup...error The backup did not complete successfully. Open the Backup and Restore Control Panel to view settings From there I clicked the Options button. Windows Backup: Troubleshooting Options Check your backup Windows Backup encountered invalid MediaID.bin file on the drive where the backup is saved. Restore from a different backup or delete the MediaID.bin file and try to create another backup. The MediaID.bin file can be found under \MediaID.Bin & \\MediaId.Bin. I deleted the file in question (MediaID.bin) from X:\ (one of the drives being backedup( and tried the backup again. Next I was presented with a dialog that read: Windows Backups: Troubleshooting Options Check your backup The system connot find the file specified. I noticed that none of the profiles was missing a ProfileImagePath, I also noticed that the people commenting on the page said that they weren't missing it either. I'm currently trying the backup again, but this time I unchecked all of the user's profiles and opted only to backup the two drives X: and C: on to E:\ I'll let you know what happens. Any ideas?

  • Does VPN connection on virtual machine bypass host VPN?

    I wanted to see if i could channel my traffic trough two vpns, so as an experiment i set up a windows xp virtual machine in virtualbox (using NAT shared network setting), connected the host pc(windows 7) to a vpn, and then the virtual machine to another vpn. this seams to work fine. However, my question is, is the traffic sent trough both vpn servers, or is the virtual machines vpn bypassing the host machines vpn connection? thanks.

    I have been through 10+ tutorials on setting up a OpenVPN, and each tutorial gives a different problem... Does anyone know of a decent and helpful website/tutorial which I could go to to get it set up? I have been battling through it for almost 2 months now. Yes, I have also bugged forums.openvpn, but I think I have "reached my post limit" with them. I have to configure it remotely via ssh.     A friend asked me this: ...I stopped using KeyNote for one simple reason – contrary to the Mac marketing blurb, the final presentations do NOT work fine on Windows PCs – they look distorted and have formatting quirks which cannot be corrected because the Windows/Powerpoint file it has supposedly been saved as is in fact a non-editable file, kind of like a pdf. Is there a way to create Mac KeyNote presentation files so they look nice on Windows and can be edited?

  • SAS Expanders vs Direct Attached (SAS)?

    I have a storage unit with 2 backplanes. One backplane holds 24 disks, one backplane holds 12 disks. Each backplane is independently connected to a SFF-8087 port (4 channel/12Gbit) to the raid card. Here is where my question really comes in. Can or how easily can a backplane be overloaded? All the disks in the machine are WD RE4 WD1003FBYX (black) drives that have average writes at 115MB/sec and average read of 125 MB/sec I know things would vary based on the raid or filesystem we put on top of that but it seems to be that a 24 disk backplane with only one SFF-8087 connector should be able to overload the bus to a point that might actually slow it down? Based on my math, if I had a RAID0 across all 24 disks and asked for a large file, I should, in theory should get 24*115 MB/sec wich translates to 22.08 GBit/sec of total throughput. Either I'm confused or this backplane is horribly designed, at least in a perfomance environment. I'm looking at switching to a model where each drive has it's own channel from the backplane (and new HBA's or raid card). EDIT: more details We have used both pure linux (centos), open solaris, software raid, hardware raid, EXT3/4, ZFS.   • Pagination links broken - php/jquery

    Hey, I'm still trying to get my pagination links to load properly dynamically. But I can't seem to find a solution to this one problem. vote down star Hi everyone, I am still trying to figure out how to fix my pagination script to work properly. the problem I am having is when I click any of the pagination number links to go the next page, the new content does not load. literally nothing happens and when looking at the console in Firebug, nothing is sent or loaded. I have on the main page 3 links to filter the content and display it. When any of these links are clicked the results are loaded and displayed along with the associated pagination numbers for that specific content. I believe the problem is coming from the sql query in generate_pagination.php (seen below). When I hard code the sql category part it works, but is not dynamic at all. This is why I'm calling $ids=$_GET['ids']; and trying to put that into the category section but then the numbers don't display at all. This causes problems with some things (like Quicktime) so I want to repackage the file such that the stereo track is the first audio track. I don't want to re-encode things. Can I do this? Can I do it for free?

At some random hours (5:59 localtime in the following example) it goes 1 hour back and keeps doing this again and again next times it reaches 5:59. Like this: 5:59-4:59 … 5:59- 4:59 and so on. It stays in the loop until I manually update its time.     Hello all, When I mix JSTL 1.0 and JSTL 1.1 taglib declarations, it causes a ParseException on some of my servers, but not all of them. However, everything works fine if I change the URI for the core declaration to http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core So here's the really weird part : for some reason, mixing 1.0 and 1.1 taglib declarations only causes an exception on two of my servers -- my staging server and my production server. It causes no problems at all on my local machine or my development server. Why is this? What could possibly be causing this difference in behavior? The three servers are extremely similar in setup and configuration. The JSP page is being served up by OpenCMS, and I'm using the Caucho's Resin webserver. I understand that you don't know how my servers or CMS are set up, but really, what I'm looking for is ideas. Any ideas at all would help -- this problem has been driving me absolutely batty. Even if you don't know what could be causing the problem, if you have any suggestions at all for how I could approach the problem, that would be extremely helpful. I just don't understand what could cause this difference in behavior between my servers.     Is it possible to have a motherboard boot without placing RAM in the DIMM1 slot? Our new cooling solutions for motherboards are causing us issues where some boards that have RAM with raised heatsinks will not actually fit because the DIMM1 slot is partially blocked. Currently we mount the RAM in DIMM1 and DIMM3 because it's dual channel, are there any settings that can be changed on the BIOS to allow motherboard to boot without RAM in DIMM1 such as placing the RAM in DIMM2 and DIMM4?
