  Im am trying to get MSDeploy to execute a PowerShell script on a remote server.   I want to get IQueryable<> result when executing stored procedure. Here is peace of code that works fine: IQueryable<SomeEntitiy> someEntities; var globbalyFilteredSomeEntities = from se in m_Entities.SomeEntitiy where se.GlobalFilter == 1234 select se; I can use this to apply global filter, and later use result in such way result = globbalyFilteredSomeEntities .OrderByDescending(se => se.CreationDate) .Skip(500) .Take(10); What I want to do - use some stored procedures in global filter. I tried: Add stored procedure to m_Entities, but it returns IEnumerable<> and executes sp immediately: var globbalyFilteredSomeEntities = from se in m_Entities.SomeEntitiyStoredProcedure(1234); Materialize query using EFExtensions library, but it is IEnumerable<>. If I use AsQueryable() and OrderBy(), Skip(), Take() and after that ToList() to execute that query - I get exception that DataReader is open and I need to close it first(can't paste error - it is in russian). var globbalyFilteredSomeEntities = m_Entities.CreateStoreCommand("exec SomeEntitiyStoredProcedure(1234)") .Materialize<SomeEntitiy>(); //.AsQueryable() //.OrderByDescending(se => se.CreationDate) //.Skip(500) //.Take(10) //.ToList(); Also just skipping .AsQueryable() is not helpful - same exception. When I put ToList() query executes, but it is too expensive to execute query without Skip(), Take().

  With the SetupAPI.DLL I execute Function SetupDiGetClassDevs and get a pointer or handle Then Begin a loop Then I run Return = Function SetupDiEnumDeviceInterfaces with SP_DEVICE_INTERFACE_DATA.cbSize = 0 to get my size of what SP_DEVICE_INTERFACE_DATA needs to be Then I set size and execute again SP_DEVICE_INTERFACE_DATA.cbSize = return (the size) Function SetupDiEnumDeviceInterfaces From the data structures I get DevicePath from SP_DEVINFO_DATA And a heap of information from the registry if I want it I beleave What I’m realy wanting is to access the HID.DLL and call HidD_GetAttributes to get VendorID, ProductID, and VersionNumber To this Enumerated device, so I can ID the device. I expect this particular info would come from the USB device its self. Can any one show me how to do that. By the way in my version of windows XP I’m using the registry path, I cannot find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Enum\HID...\Class I do not even get HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Enum\ I think this is because I have not executed the SetupDiEnumDeviceInterfaces Function Why? • Instantiate an .aspx that is an embedded resource of an assembly

  I have an ASP.NET (MVC) application in which I would like to load WebForms .aspx files that are embedded as resources in 3rd party assemblies. The reason I want to do this is to make a sort of "plug-in" system where a .dll file can be dropped in a folder and then picked up at runtime to provide additional functionality to the base application. I've gotten the plugin system to work (I'm using MEF) with plugins written in ASP.NET MVC (Views and Controllers), but for plain old ASP.NET (Pages), I've got myself into a bit of a problem. For the execution of the embedded .aspx file (which, in the usual WebForm way Inherits="My.BasePage") I've created a custom VirtualPathProvider, ResourceFile ControllerFactory and PageController. Within the PageController I've overridden the Execute(RequestContext) method and within it I'm trying to compile the .aspx with BuildManager.CreateInstanceFromVirtualPath(virtualPath, type). When doing this, I get the error message "Could not load type 'My.BasePage'", even though I'm giving the BuildManager the System.Type of My.BasePage in the call to CreateInstanceFromVirtualPath. I seem to be stuck at this point. I've tried to Server.Transfer() to the custom VirtualPathProvider handled URL to the same .aspx file, but that fails with the same error message. How can I help BuildManager find out where My.BasePage is defined and how come the Type requiredBaseType parameter of CreateInstanceFromVirtualPath seems to be ignored? I've tried to call BuildManager.AddReferencedAssembly(), but that only fails with "This method can only be called during the application's pre-start initialization stage". MSDN says: "The method must be called during the Application_PreStartInit stage of the application", but I have no such event in my HttpApplication object and find absolutely zero information about it on the internet. Either way, I don't want to be calling BuildManager.AddReferencedAssembly() in or before the Application_Start event, since that makes me have to recycle the whole application to be able to add new plugins to the system. Does anyone have any clues? Any other ideas on how I can "execute" an .aspx file that is embedded as a resource within an assembly through reflection? Can I for instance pre-compile the .aspx file within the same assembly as the base Page class it inherits?

  We are in the process of migrating our ASP.NET MVC 1.0 web app to MVC 2.0 but we have run into a small snag. In our report creation wizard, it is possible leave the Title text box empty and have it be populated with a generic title (in the post action). So, the error message I'm getting is: 'parameter type conflict'... the function "FC_RJS_INCLUIR_RELACAO_PRODCAT" it's a Java Stored Procedure too, it's already exported to Oracle, and returns an int variable, and i have to read this to decide which webservice i will call from this JavaSP. I have already tried the OracleTyep.NUMBER in the registerOutParameter. Anyone knows what i'm doing wrong?

• quartz throws deadlocks under load

  We are using Quartz with Spring and our configuration is throwing deadlocks when quartz has more than 1 thread configured. I'm starting to believe that it's because we don't have our quartz configured correctly with Spring, but I can't find enough documentation on how to configure the two to play nicely. We are running on both Windows and Linux environments - pointing at MSSQL and Oracle DBs. With both OS, using either DB, we can throw the following deadlock errors...   hey in my screen there is a an edit field and 2 custom button fields as "OK" and "CANCEL" Below buttonfield there are some more focussable label fields when i write a name in edit field and press enter then focus comes to "OK" button but how to set focus on "CANCEL" button. Moreover while scrolling the focus does not automatically move ahead??? what to do may be i m confused with touch events and their handling!!! Kindly help!!!!!!!!!!!!   I am having some problems with what should be a rather simple task. I simply need a JSON array with a single JSON object within it to be posted to my webservice. The entire URL request needs to be formatted like this: http://www.myserver.com/myservice.php?location_data=[{"key1":"val1","key2":"val2"....}] I cannot for the life of me figure out how to append the 'location_data' bit using HttpPost.   I'm using shell_exec() to execute a Twitter API Call. shell_exec('curl -u user:password -d "id=3191321" http://api.twitter.com/1/twitterapi/twitterlist/members.xml'); That works fine when I authenticate correctly and put in a number for the id. But when I try to put in a variable ($id), it screws up. $addtolist = shell_exec('curl -u pxlist:Weekend1 -d "id='.$id.'" http://twitter.com/username/twitterlist/members.xml'); I tried flipping the quote types $addtolist = shell_exec("curl -u pxlist:Weekend1 -d 'id=$id' http://twitter.com/username/twitterlist/members.xml"); I tried using double quotes and escaping them $addtolist = shell_exec("curl -u pxlist:Weekend1 -d \"id=$id\" http://twitter.com/username/twitterlist/members.xml"); None of them worked. What am I doing wrong? EDIT: The purists say I should be using PHP's built in curl methods, not the shell_exec. I should mention that the binaries are taken from the latest build of Castle though I have never worked with nant so I didn't bother re-compiling from source and just took the files in the bin directory. I should also point out that my project compiles with no problem.

  I want to run a batch file, which I do via the following: <CustomAction Id='InstallFilter' FileKey='install' ExeCommand='' Execute='deferred' /> <InstallExecuteSequence> <Custom Action='InstallFilter' Before='InstallFinalize' /> </InstallExecuteSequence> This will execute the batch file, but it runs in C:\Windows\System32 (or something like that). I want it to run in the directory that the file is found in. It won'et let me specify a Directory attribute with a FileKey attribute. How can I tell the installer to run out of a specific directory, preferably by the directory ID. Also, when I try to uninstall my app with script, I get an error message saying "There is a problem with the Windows Installer package. A program required for the install to complete could not be run." This makes sense, as by the time the script gets run, the files have been removed. The question is: How do I specify that my action should only be run on install, not uninstall? How do I uninstall this current copy?

• Java SwingWorker still uses 98% CPU after it's done.

  I am new to the Java SwingWorker class, but I'm trying to get it to do some stuff in the background. That part works already, but now, when it is finished, the Windows Task Manager still shows that 70-98% of the CPU is still being used. Before I hit the 'Start' button it is only 3-15% and after I close the program it returns to those values. But what is still happening when the SwingWorker already reported being done?? I'll give you a simplified version of my code: I have this StereoProcessor extending SwingWorker, with doInBackground(): yLoop for(some values y) { for(some values x) { if(isCancelled()) break yLoop; else { setProgress(to some value); // do some non-SingWorker-related stuff } } } return returnValue; I call to this process through another code: stereoProcessor.addPropertyChangeListener(new PropertyChangeListener() { public void propertyChange(PropertyChangeEvent evt) { if(evt.getPropertyName().equals("state")) if(evt.getNewValue().equals(StereoProcessor.StateValue.DONE) { // do stuff } } } }); stereoProcessor.computeSomething(); // this method calls execute() That's about it, so I don't understand what it keeps doing. I tried putting some System.outs in the code in different places, but all stopped printing after a while. Does anyone know what's going on? • Ruby on Rails: How to sanitize a string for SQL when not using find?

  I'm trying to sanitize a string that involves user input without having to resort to manually crafting my own possibly buggy regex if possible, however, if that is the only way I would also appreciate if anyone can point me in the right direction to a regex that is unlikely to be missing anything. There are a number of methods in Rails that can allow you to enter in native SQL commands, how do people escape user input for those? The question I'm asking is a broad one, but in my particular case, I'm working with a column in my Postgres database that Rails does not natively understand as far as I know, the tsvector, which holds plain text search information. Rails is able to write and read from it as if it's a string, however, unlike a string, it doesn't seem to be automatically escaping it when I do things like vector= inside the model. For example, when I do model.name='::', where name is a string, it works fine. When I do model.vector='::' it errors out: ActiveRecord::StatementInvalid: PGError: ERROR: syntax error in tsvector: "::" "vectors" = E'::' WHERE "id" = 1 This seems to be a problem caused by lack of escaping of the semicolons, and I can manually set the vector='\:\:' fine. I also had the bright idea, maybe I can just call something like: ActiveRecord::Base.connection.execute "UPDATE medias SET vectors = ? WHERE id = 1", "::" However, this syntax doesn't work, because the raw SQL commands don't have access to find's method of escaping and inputting strings by using the ? mark. This strikes me as the same problem as calling connection.execute with any type of user input, as it all boils down to sanitizing the strings, but I can't seem to find any way to manually call Rails' SQL string sanitization methods. Can anyone provide any advice?
