  • Too many connections to 212.192.255.240

    Recently, my Internet slowed down drastically. I downloaded a tool to see the TCP/IP connections from my Vista computer. I found out that a lot TCP/IP connections are being connected to 212.192.255.240 through SVCHost. It seems that it is trying to connect to different ports. I think that my computer is being infected with some kind of malware etc. But I am not sure how to get rid of it. I did a little bit of research on this IP but found nothing. Any suggestions are highly appreciated. UPDATE: This is the HiJackThis log file and I can't find any thing weird. Also, the program is also trying to create connections to 91.205.127.63, which is also from Russia.   • How a batch file runs on a remote machine started by PSEXEC

    I am having an issue running a Batch file on a remote machine suing PSEXEC. The file runs but does not run like it does when run through remote desktop. The batch runs a file which is a 32 bit application, which opens multiple 16bit applications, this should all run under one ntvdm.exe (In one Memory Space). Through remote desktop the batch file runs under the explorer process, and works correctly opening only one ntvdm.exe. Using PSEXEC the batch runs but not under the explorer process, a separate ntvdm.exe is open for each process. I found running the batch from explorer in PSEXEC works, but comes up with a "File Download - Security Warning" eg. psexec.exe" \compname -u username -p passowrd -s -d -i 0 explorer C:\Program.bat I want to be able to run the batch successfully without receiving warnings, it is a local warning and not a network share warning. Possible to recreate warning typing "explorer C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe" in Run I would like to know if anyone knows of a way to get PSEXEC to open the batch file to run as though it was started by explorer. Or a way of removing the local "File Download - Security Warning" Thanks

  • Rebinding Keys on a Dell Keyboard

    I have a Dell Multimedia Keyboard, similar to this one: It has many non-standard keys, like the small circular ones across the top, and the "Multimedia" keys above INSERT/HOME/PAGE_UP. They can be rebound through simple registry entries. I've rebound the button that would normally open "MY COMPUTER" to instead boot the Windows 7 "Snipping Tool", something I find very useful. Now, I'm looking to do some other things that I don't already know how to do. Note that answering this question doesn't necessarily require any knowledge about the keyboard or rebinding the keys: I can add, for any given key, a "ShellExecute" entry, and it will simply execute the following command as if it was typed at a Command Prompt. (I'm aware I dumbed that down rather significantly, but bear with me. I'm not really a Windows guy myself.) I use the volume knob for it's intended purpose, to change volume. I would like to change, however, a different key, to "reset" the Windows volume level back to exactly 50%, or, as it refers to it, "50", on it's 0-100 scale. I'm looking for the "program" (what I would type at a command prompt? these are still just Sys32 programs in the PATH, aren't they?) that, I imagine, would take arguments, to change Sound/Volume settings under Windows 7. Perhaps, for clarification, something that might take the form "C: SetVolume -slevel 50" or something.

    Note: Please do not mod down or close. Im not a stupid PC user asking to fix my pc problem. I am intrigued and am having a deep technical look at whats going on. I have come across a Windows XP machine that is sending unwanted p2p traffic. I have done a 'netstat -b' command and explorer.exe is sending out the traffic. When I kill this process the traffic stops and obviously Windows Explorer dies. Here is the header of the stream from the Wireshark dump (x.x.x.x) is the machines IP. I have looked in Windows firewall and it shouldn't be letting this traffic through. I have had a look into the messages explorer.exe is sending in Spy++ and the only related ones I can see are socket connections etc... My question is what can I do to look into this deeper? What does malware achieve by sending p2p traffic? I know to fix the problem the easiest way is to reinstall Windows but I want to get to the bottom of it first, just out of interest. Edit: Had a look at Deoendency Walker and Process Explorer. Both great tools. Here is a screenshot of it in IE8, with my mouse hovered over the " min) { min" section in the middle. As you can see, it highlighted the span that the mouse is hovering over perfectly fine. However, it has also highlighted some random spans above and below it that don't have the same class! Only the span's with the same Class as the one where the mouse is over should be highlighted green. In this screenshot, only that middle green section should be green. Here is a screenshot of it working properly in Firefox/Chrome with my mouse in the exact same position: This screenshot is correct as the span that the mouse is over (the green section) is the only one in this section that shares that class. Why is IE8 randomly green-highlighting spans when it shouldn't be (they don't share the same class) using my little jQuery snippet?     I have a php function which inserts a searchbar into each page on a website. The site checks to see if the user has javascript enabled and if they do it inserts some jquery ajax stuff to link select boxes (instead of using it's fallback onchange="form.submit()"). $.getJSON works perfectly for me in other browsers except in IE, if I do a full page refresh (ctrl+F5) in IE my ajax works flawlessly until I navigate to a new page (or the same page with $PHP_SELF) either by submiting the form or clicking a link the jquery onchange function fires but then jquery throws an error: Webpage error details Message: Object doesn't support this property or method Line: 123 Char: 183 Code: 0 URI: http://~#UNABLE~TO~DISCLOSE#~/jquery-1.4.2.min.js It seems like jquery function $.getJSON() is gone??? This kind of activity is usually done by virus. Disabling the registry for Task manager etc. Does anyone know of any source available that does this? I might be able to pull it off in Windows XP. But have anyone tried this in Windows 7 ? The aim is to to emulate the Chrome OS on Windows. Only the browser. Nothing else.

  • Why won't Internet Explorer (or Chrome) display my 'Loading...' gif but Firefox will?

    I have a page that fires several xmlHttp requests (synchronous, plain-vanilla javascript, I'd love to be using jquery thanks for mentioning that). I'm hiding/showing a div with a loading image based on starting/stopping the related javascript functions (at times I have a series of 3 xmlhttp request spawning functions nested). div = document.getElementById("loadingdiv"); if(div) { if(stillLoading) { div.style.visibility='visible'; div.style.display=''; } else { div.style.visibility='hidden'; div.style.display='none'; } } In Firefox this seems to work fine. The div displays and shows the gif for the required processing. In IE/Chrome however I get no such feedback. I am only able to prove that the div/image will even display by putting alert() methods in place with I call the above code, this stops the process and seems to give the browsers in question the window they need to render the dom change. I want IE/Chrome to work like it works in Firefox. What gives?

Open the Team Explorer Right click in the Team Explorer the root node (i.e. the project collection) Select "New team project" from the menu Walk throught he wizard and make sure you check the option to create the portal (which is by default checked) Step 2: Disable the site for the new project Open the Team Explorer Select the team project you created in step 1 In the menu click on Team -> Show Project Portal. Open the Team Explorer Select the team project you want to add the portal to In the menu open Team -> Team Project Settings -> Portal Settings... The same dialog as in step 2 pops up Check the option "Enable team project portal" Click on the "Configure URL" button The following dialog pops up   In the dialog select in the combobox of the web application the TFS server Enter in the Relative site path the text "sites/[Project Collection Name]/[Team Project Name created in step 1]" Confirm the "Specify an existing SharePoint Site" with OK Check the "Reports and dashboards refer to data for this team project" option Confirm the dialog "Project Portal Settings" with OK Step 4: Delete the temporary project you created. In Beta 1, I have found no way to delete a team project. Maybe it will be available in TFS 2010 Beta 2. Original post Step 1: Create new portal site Go to the sharepoint site of your project collection (/sites//default.aspx">/sites//default.aspx">http://<servername>/sites/<project_collection_name>/default.aspx) Click on the Site Actions at the left side of the screen and choose the option Site Settings In the site settings, choose the Sites and workspaces option Create a new site Enter the values for the Title, the description, the site address. And choose for the TFS2010 Agile Dashboard as template. Create the site, by clicking on the Create button Step 2: Integrate portal site with team project Open Visual Studio Open the Team Explorer (View -> Team Explorer) Select in the Team Explorer tool window the Team Project for which you are create a new portal Open the Project Portal Settings (Team -> Team Project Settings -> Portal Setings...) Check the Enable team project portal checkbox Click on Configure URL... You will get a new dialog as below Enter the url to the TFS server in the web application combobox And specify the relative site path: sites/<project collection>/<site name> Confirm with OK Check in the Project Portal Settings dialog the checkbox "Reports and dashboards refer to data for this team project" Confirm the settings with OK (this takes a while...) When you now browse to the portal, you will see that the dashboards are now showing up with the data for the current team project. Step 3: Download process template To get a copy of the documents that are default in a team project, we need to have a fresh set of files that are not attached to a team project yet. You can do that with the following steps. Start the Process Template Manager (Team -> Team Project Collection Settings -> Process Template Manager...) Choose the Agile process template and click on download Choose a folder to download Step 4: Add Product and Iteration backlog Go to the Team Explorer in Visual Studio Make sure the team project is in the list of team projects, and expand the team project Right click the Documents node, and choose New Document Library Enter "Shared Documents", and click on Add Right click the Shared Documents node and choose Upload Document Go the the file location where you stored the process template from step 3 and then navigate to the subdirectory "Agile Process Template 5.0\MSF for Agile Software Development v5.0\Windows SharePoint Services\Shared Documents\Project Management" Select in the Open Dialog the files "Iteration Backlog" and "Product Backlog", and click Open Step 5: Bind Iteration backlog workbook to the team project Right click on the "Iteration Backlog" file and select Edit, and confirm any warning messages Place your cursor in cell A1 of the Iteration backlog worksheet Switch to the Team ribbon and click New List. Select your Team Project and click Connect From the New List dialog, select the Iteration Backlog query in the Workbook Queries folder. The final step is to add a set of document properties that allow the workbook to communicate with the TFS reporting warehouse. Before we create the properties we need to collect some information about your project. The first piece of information comes from the table created in the previous step.  As you collect these properties, copy them into notepad so they can be used in later steps. Property How to retrieve the value? [Table name] Switch to the Design ribbon and select the Table Name value in the Properties portion of the ribbon [Project GUID] In the Visual Studio Team Explorer, right click your Team Project and select Properties.  Select the URL value and copy the GUID (long value with lots of characters) at the end of the URL [Team Project name] In the Properties dialog, select the Name field and copy the value [TFS server name] In the Properties dialog, select the Server Name field and copy the value [UPDATE] I have found that this is not correct: you need to specify the instance of your SQL Server. The value is used to create a connection to the TFS cube. Switch back to the Iteration Backlog workbook. Click the Office button and select Prepare – Properties. Click the Document Properties – Server drop down and select Advanced Properties. Switch to the Custom tab and add the following properties using the values you collected above. Variable name Value [Table name]_ASServerName [TFS server name] [Table name]_ASDatabase tfs_warehouse [Table name]_TeamProjectName [Team Project name] [Table name]_TeamProjectId [Project GUID] Click OK to close the properties dialog. It is possible that the Estimated Work (Hours) is showing the #REF! value. Step 6: Bind Product backlog workbook to the team project Repeat the steps for binding the Iteration backlog for thiw workbook too. In the worksheet Capacity, the formula of the Storypoints might be missing.
