    I'm trying to do following things: Login to CentOS over ssh: authentication needs to happen with Microsoft Ldap On successful login create a home directory for user in /home if directory exists take him to his home directory Put quota on /home/user directory of 5 GB Can someone please show me a link for Centos/redhat to authorize users with Microsoft Ldap? I have already tried: setup command from root - "Authentication configuration" - "[] User Information - Use Ldap" - Authentication - [] Use Ldap Authentication" - []/[*] Use TLS - Server: ldap://corporate.company.com - Base DN: dc=corporate,dc=company,dc=com" This does not authentication users with Microsoft LDAP

    Hi all! Some days ago I had some problems with updates, and this ended up with a problem that I already solved in this question . The problem is that now I want to update again, but it seems that I cannot do it automatically, because when I use the update manager it gets stuck while configuring mysql-server 5.1, in the line : Configuring mysql-server 5.1 (5.1.41-3ubuntu12.10)... I have been looking for some solution but it seems hard because actually I don't know where to start, so any hints are appreciated. Thanks in advance! Alf.

  • How do I crop an image in the Mac version of Microsoft Word?

    I know how to do it in the Windows version of Word but I can't work out how in the Mac version. In Windows there's a crop tool where you can just drag to move the edges in to crop the image, how do I do that on the Mac? Also on the old version of Windows there was a command to delete the cropped sections of all images in a document to save file space, I can't find that in Word 2007 or Word for Mac.

  • Volume display for laptop missing after driver update

    I have a Dell Inspiron 1520, and I just updated my audio drivers to be able to use Stereo Mix. It's a SigmaTel audio driver. Prior to the update, whenever I used the hardware buttons to update volume or mute/unmute speakers, it would always have a nice display like this one: But, for volume instead of screen brightness. The hardware buttons still work fortunately, but the volume display is gone. Is there a place I can configure this setting and re-enable it? The speaker icon in task tray was also disabled with the update, but I re-enabled that from the Control Panel. Is this simply gone with the driver update? Thanks for the help!

    I have a table that is longer than one page. I have found the option to make the header of the table to be added to the second portion of the table after the page break. Is there a way to do the same thing but with a footer on the table? I want to add a footer so that if my table was 1000 entries long (12 pages), that the first and last row of each page would be consistant; a header and footer for the table. If I edit the rest of the document (above the table) the table will shift up/down and I want to header and footer of the table to remain at the pagge breaks. Any Ideas?     Can anyone help with this issue? I am trying to help someone and could use some expertise. Error Message #1: Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003 With CD icon "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available. Insert the 'Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003' disk and click OK. Use source: Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003" 1st got this message after CD was inserted to recover partial file STDP11N. Recovered STDP11N, however, still receiving pop up window with error message each time outlook opens. Had accidentally cleaned up old programs and suddenly this was missing. Reinstalled Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003 using install CD. Outlook worked buit keep getting error message pop up each time I open Outlook. Hit ok. Error Message #2: The path 'Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003' cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package 'STDP11N.MSI' in a folder from which you can install the product Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003." Hit ok. Back to error message #1 Hit close window Error message #3: Error 1706. Setup cannot find the required files. Check your connection to the network, or CD-ROM drive. For other potential solutions to this problem, see C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\ OFFICE11\1033\SETUP.CHM Error message #4 I'd created a file under D: drive on an external drive. "The path specified for the file D:...etc.. .pst is not valid. Hit ok. Brings up window to look in My Documents.

  • X200 Tablet notebook won't start after BIOS Update

    I have LENOVO X200 Tablet and I ran the BIOS Update and the computer won't start after the BIOS update. When I ran the BIOS update utility it ran everything fine and asked to restart the computer but it wont start screen is blank. I unplugged the power and took of the battery and put them back and still not starting. Now it has [Power On] indicator light on and screen is not starting. I tried pressing F1 button while trying to start the computer but it doesn't do react to anything. Please help how I can start my Tablet. The update utility is http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-70651 Does any body know if X200 have any kind of hardware switch to reset the BIOS or any thing?   • Excel chart won't update, based on calculated cells

    I have an Excel document (2007) with a chart (Clustered Column) that gets its Data Series from cells containing calculated values The calculated values never change directly, but only as a result of other cells in the sheet changing When I change other cells in the sheet, the Data Series cells are recalculated, and show new values - but the Chart based on this Data Series refuses to update automatically I can get the Chart to update by saving/closing, or toggling one of the settings (such as reversing x/y axis and then putting it back), or by re-selecting the Data Series Every solution I have found online doesn't work - I have Calculation set to automatic - Ctrl+Alt+F9 updates everything fine, EXCEPT the chart - I have recreated the chart several times, and on different computers - I have tried VBA scripts like: Application.Calculate Application.CalculateFull Application.CalculateFullRebuild ActiveWorkbook.RefreshAll DoEvents None of these update or refresh the chart I do notice that if I type over my Data Series, actual numbers instead of calculations, it will update the chart - it's as if Excel doesn't want to recognize changes in the calculations Has anyone experienced this before or know what I might do to fix the problem?     We are currently operating Exchange 2010 server with Outlook 2010 clients on a ship. We have just changed timezones for the first time in quite a while today. Is there any way to rebase all the calendars and/or update all the calendar items to the new timezone at the same time? I have looked at the following tools already. Microsoft Exchange Calendar Update Configuration Tool - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=6266 (Doesn't support exchange 2010) Time Zone Data Update Tool for Microsoft Office Outlook - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17291 The Time Zone Data Update Tool for Microsoft Office Outlook does work for individual users, but has some serious downsides. Including each user needs to run it (approx 400 users), and also it only seems to work on the default account in Outlook 2010, a lot of our users have role accounts as well that we would need to run the tool on. The only way I can find to get this tool to run on the role accounts is to make the role account the default account in outlook, and that in itself is quiet an involved process especially if you have 2 or 3 role accounts. So is there a way to just change all calendar items on our Exchange server to a different timezone in one go? We are a little unique in terms of the whole organisation can change timezones over night, meeting rooms and all, but surely a product as advanced as Exchange 2010 allows us to do what we need.

    We had an employee leave today and I disabled their account. For clarification I right click the user in the Exchange Management Console and clicked "Disable." I got a message that said "Disabling the mailbox will remove the Exchange properties from the Windows user object and mark the mailbox in the database for removal. Are you sure you want to disable 'Users Name'? I clicked "yes" and not 60 seconds later I was asked to just change the password temporarily. Can I get this account back?

    Dear people, My Small Business Server 2003 failed to install this update SP2 for WSUS3.0. The update is not available for rollback. WSUS 3.0 is not to be found in my software configscreen or startup menu. Some files have been deleted from the hard drive and last but not least. The service will not run and .NET runtime errors keep flooding my logs. Question. How to remove an update or program which is not listed in add/remove software anymore. Since the update it fails to run WSUS. Event-id: 0 Category: none Source: .NET Runtime ERROR: This error keeps flooding my logs. I am hesitant to roll back to a system restore point since exchange is running on the same disks.... :)

  • Stop Windows 7 from installing critical updates

    I have disabled Windows Update on Windows 7, but it still downloads and installs critical updates. As with Windows XP, these updates occasionally create problems. But in XP, once I disabled automatic updates, the OS did not override my settings and continue to download and install critical updates. After the most recent critical update to Windows 7, every time I boot up, the USB devices connected to a single port through 4-way hub don't install. I have to unplug the hub from the computer then plug it back in. Then the devices install. I can use System Recovery to solve the immediate problem, but I'd like to disable automatic updates entirely. Why does Windows 7 not respect my settings like Windows XP did?

    I have been looking around and have not found a good answer to my question. I currently have php 5.3.3 installed via yum on my centos 6.3 server. I need to upgrade to php 5.10 or later. It is my understanding that you need to find the correct mysql and apache packages that fit with the php install. Can someone please point me in the direction of a an update guide? Btw I am not looking for "yum update httpd php5" this gets me the old 5.3.3 version. Thanks, Kevin.

We have to set up many exhange users who will only be able to access exchange through the outlook web access. All their outgoing e-mails when received from recipients outside our company should appear to be sent from a single generic address and not from the users' addresses.     Running yum --security check-update returns this message: Security: kernel-3.x.x-x.63 is an installed security update Security: kernel-3.x.x-x.29 is the currently running version I already ran the yum security update on the kernel, but it looks like it didn't change the version running on the system. What needs to be done to make it run the new kernel? Are there any concerns about why it didn't change during the installation process? The yum log just shows installed for the new kernel no error messages.

    We have an isolated enviornment of a few hundred servers in which we use WSUS to push updates too. We have thousands of updates which to manage and push to devices testing along the way to ensure the update will not break anything. What are the best practices that you all follow in your enteprise networks to ensure an update does not go out to all the machines that will break something? We currently have ours broken into customized groups for each type of machine. There is one "Test Group" which has one PC of each type which we apply updates to for error checking. Is this a similar procedure others follow or is their an easier safer way to manage the thousands of WSUS updates?

Now the problem is that all my users of the workstations used their own Apple ID to sign in in App Store and thus they have their private credit card information bounded to the account and I can not require them to pay the price of the update.
