  • Maven best practice for generating artifacts for multiple environments [prod, test, dev] with CI/Hud

    I have a project that need to be deployed into multiple environments (prod, test, dev). The main differences mainly consist in configuration properties/files. My idea was to use profiles and overlays to copy/configure the specialized output. But I'm stuck into if I have to generate multiple artifacts with specialized classifiers (ex: "my-app-1.0-prod.zip/jar", "my-app-1.0-dev.zip/jar") or should I create multiple projects, one project for every environment ?! Should I use maven-assembly-plugin to generate multiple artifacts for every environment ? Anyway, I'll need to generate all them at once so it seams that the profiles does not fit ... still puzzled :( Any hints/examples/links will be more than welcomed. As a side issue, I'm also wondering how to achieve this in a CI Hudson/Bamboo to generate and deploy these generated artifacts for all the environments, to their proper servers (ex: using SCP Hudson plugin) ?

    I would like to implement or use functionality that allows stepping through a Table in SQLite. If I have a Table Products that has 100k rows, I would like to retrive perhaps 10k rows at a time. Somthing similar to how a webpage would list data and have a < Previous .. Next > link to walk through the data. Are there select statements that can make this simple?     SQL Server is able to return the results of multiple queries in a single round-trip, e.g: select a, b, c from y; select d, e, f from z; Oracle doesn't like this syntax. It is possible to use reference cursors, like this: begin open :1 for select count(*) from a; open :2 for select count(*) from b; end; However, you incur a penalty in opening/closing cursors and you can hold database locks for an extended period. What I'd like to do is retrieve the results for these two queries in one shot, using Odp.net. Is it possible?

    I need to increase the FD_SETSIZE value from 1024 to 4096. I know it'd be better to use poll()/epoll() but I want to understand what are pros/cons. The main question is: have I to recompile glibc? I read several thread where the change of .h after changing FD_SETSIZE works recompiling only the user application. Reading the glibc code (and the kernel too), actually it seems to me that if I want to use select(), FD_* macro and so on, I have to recompile all because the size of fd_set is changed. At this point I have to recompile all not only my application because if in the system there is an another "common" application that uses select and friends, I could have problem. Am I right?

    I have the following code, i'm trying to make a loader appear then the image fade in once it is loaded. I want to make the function reusable so i can just add an image to a div with the loader id and it will work.     I have a working query that retrieves the data that I need, but unfortunately it is painfully slow (runs over 3 minutes). I have indexes in place, but I think the problem is the multiple dependent subqueries. I've been trying to rewrite the query using joins but I can't seem to get it to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The tables: Basically, I have 2 tables. The first (prices) holds the prices of items in a store. Each row is the price of an item that day, and new rows are added every day with an updated price. The second table (watches_US) holds the item information (name, description, etc).   • get data from gridview without querying database

    Hi there I am new at this so please bear with me... I have managed to get the following code to work...so when I click on the "select" link in each row of the gridview, the data is transfered to other label/textbox on the webpage. So far so good, the thing is that everytime I click on select...it goes and checks on the database for the data and there is a delay of a few seconds... I was hoping that the data, since it is already visible on the gridrows, is simply "picked up" and used on other labels/textboxes...without requerying the database. Is this possible ?     Alright, so I'm putting together a path to select a revision of a particular novel: SELECT Catalog.WbsId, Catalog.Revision, NovelRevision.Revision FROM Catalog, BookInCatalog INNER JOIN NovelMaster INNER JOIN HasNovelRevision INNER JOIN NovelRevision ON HasNovelRevision.right = NovelRevision.obid ON HasNovelRevision.Left=NovelMaster.obid ON NovelMaster.obid = BookInCatalog.Right WHERE Catalog.obid = BookInCatalog.Left; This returns all revisions that are in the Novel Master for each Novel Master that is in the catalog. The problem is, I only want the FIRST revision of each novel master in the catalog. How do I go about doing that? Oh, and btw: my flavor of sql is hobbled, as many others are, in that it does not support the LIMIT Function.

    today my problem is this i have 2 column and i wish check if the sum of that columns isn't Higher then a value(485 for example) and if is do a query...i though to do SELECT * FROM table WHERE ColumnA+ColumnB<485 But isn't working... i've already tried with SELECT Sum(ColumnA)+Sum(ColumnB) AS Total FROM table but it gives me 1 column with the sum of all rows, i instead want a row for every sum. so how can i do..? xD i hope you understood if not just ask that i try to explain it better! and thanks in advice for who want to help me! EDIT: I Found out XD the problem was that the columns was Smallint and the result of 1 or more rows was more than 32k so it wasn't working! Thanks At all!!

    I have 1 table with tasks named opentask:columns: id,title,description,expires,creator_id,creator_name, executer_id, executer_name, priority_id, status_id1 table with users named user: with columns: user_id, username What I want is to create a query where there will be all columns from opentask table where the executer_id will be equal to the user_id of user table AND the creator_id will be equal to the user_id again. This creates a confusion because the first equality excludes the second.So I need somehow to create a query where I will include the usernames for the executer with something like where "opentask.executer_id=user_user_id" and at the same time I will include the username again (as a differend name?) for the creator with something like "where opentask.executer_id=user_user_id"So I try this, which of course I know that is missing something, can you help? One named status like this... user_id | status --------+----------- 1 | random status from user 1 2 | random status from user 2 3 | random message from user 3 4 | staus from user 4 1 | second status for user1 etc... and another named users_following like this... user_id | is_following --------+----------- 1 | 2 1 | 3 2 | 1 3 | 2 meaning that user 1 is following both users 2 and 3 etc... So, let's say I chose user 1. What is the best query (performance wise) to show the status updates of users that user 1 is following, in this case users 2 and 3 currently I have something like SELECT * from status WHERE user_id IN(SELECT is_following FROM users_following WHERE user_id='1') LIMIT 0,5 but I don't think this is good for performance if a user was following thousands+ of users
