  • Routing a location that matches one controller to another

    Hi I have a controller named "places" with some actions like "view", "new", "create" When a user goes to mysite.com/places I want to execute the action "show" of another controller called "cores" So I've put this in the routes.rb file: map.connect '/:id/show', :controller => "cores", :action => "show" But it doesn't work. I receive this error: Processing PlacesController#show (for 127.0.0.1 at 2010-04-16 00:52:07) [GET] ActionController::UnknownAction (No action responded to show.     What I want is similar to this question. However, I want the directory that is split into a separate repo to remain a subdirectory in that repo: I have this: foo/ .git/ bar/ baz/ qux/ And I want: foo/ .git/ bar/ baz/ quux/ .git/ qux/ # Note: still a subdirectory How to do this in git? I could use the method from this answer if there is some way to move all the new repo's contents into a subdirectory, throughout history.

    I have a COM object written in managed code (C++/CLI). I am using that object in standard C++. How do I force my COM object's destructor to be called immediately when the COM object is released? If that's not possible, call I have Release() call a MyDispose() method on my COM object? Bar::IFoo setup(__uuidof(Bar::Foo)); // This object comes from the .tlb. setup.Doit(); setup-Release(); // explicit release, not really necessary since Bar::IFoo's destructor will call Release(). If I put a destructor method on my COM object, it is never called. If I put a finalizer method, it is called when the garbage collector gets around to it. If I explicitly call my Release() override it is never called. I would really like it so that when my native Bar::IFoo object goes out of scope it automatically calls my .NET object's dispose code. I would think I could do it by overriding the Release(), and if the object count = 0 then call MyDispose(). But apparently I'm not overriding Release() correctly because my Release() method is never called. Obviously, I can make this happen by putting my MyDispose() method in the interface and requiring the people using my object to call MyDispose() before Release(), but it would be slicker if Release() just cleaned up the object. Is it possible to force the .NET COM object's destructor, or some other method, to be called immediately when a COM object is released? Googling on this issue gets me a lot of hits telling me to call System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ReleaseComObject(), but of course, that's how you tell .NET to release a COM object. I want COM Release() to Dispose of a .NET object.

    Some of the titles of view controllers in my UINavigationController are quite long, which makes the back button in the navigation bar of the next view controller in the hierarchy miss out some of the text, with a "..." instead. How could I make the text of the back button wrap onto two lines, as with "Now Playing" in the navigation bar of iPod.app? Thanks!

I did some searching and found that i have to use the below code. setMaximumCategoryLabelLines(2) in the CategoryAxis and still it doesn't wrap to the next line. Please suggest solutions.

  • JAX-WS wsgen and collections of collections: wsgen broken?

    I've been playing around with "bottom-up" JAX-WS and have come across something odd when running wsgen. If I have a service class that does something like: @WebService public class Foo { public ArrayList<Bar> getBarList(String baz) { ... } } then running wsgen gets me a FooService_schema1.xsd that has something like this: <xs:complexType name="getBarListResponse"> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="return" type="tns:bar" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"/> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> which seems reasonable. However, if I want a collection of collections like: public BarCollection getBarCollection(String baz) { ... } // BarCollection is just a container for an ArrayList<Bar> then the generated schema ends up with stuff like: <xs:complexType name="barCollection"> <xs:sequence/> </xs:complexType> <xs:complexType name="getBookCollectionsResponse"> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="return" type="tns:barCollection" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"/> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> An empty sequence is not what I had in mind at all.   • Make process crash on large memory allocation

    I'm trying to find a significant memory leak (15MB at a time, but doing allocations like this on multiple places). I checked the most obvious places, and then used AQTime, but I still can't pinpoint it. Now I see 2 options left: 1) Use SetProcessWorkingSetSize: I've tried this but my process happily keeps on running when using up more then 150MB: DWORD MemorySize = 150*1024*1024; SetProcessWorkingSetSize( GetCurrentProcess(), MemorySize/2, MemorySize*2 ); 2) Put a breakpoint when allocating more then 1MB at a time. How should I do this, overload operator new with an 'if1MB' inside ?

  • Combining the UNIQUE and CHECK constraints

    I have a table with columns a b and c, and if c is false then I only want to allow insertions if columns a and b are unique, but if c is true then a and b do not need to be unique. Example: There can only be one (foo, bar, false) in the table, but no limit on how many (foo, bar, true) there can be. I tried something like CONSTRAINT blah UNIQUE (a,b) AND CHECK (C is TRUE) but I can't figure out the correct syntax.

  • When should I use $ (and can it always be replaced with parentheses)?

    From what I'm reading, $ is described as "applies a function to its arguments." However, it doesn't seem to work quite like (apply ...) in Lisp, because it's a binary operator, so really the only thing it looks like it does is help to avoid parentheses sometimes, like foo $ bar quux instead of foo (bar quux). Am I understanding it right? Is the latter form considered "bad style"?

Despite settings android:clickable="false" for Seekbar in layout xml, I am still able to click on it and move seek bar as desired.   • Calling 32 bit unmanaged dlls from C# randomly failing

    Hi, I'm having an issue when calling 32 bit delphi dll's from c# web site. The code generally runs fine, but occasionally I get an error Unable to load DLL '': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E). This issue persists until I recycle the app pool for the site, and then it works fine again. On the same server, there is also a web service that is calling the same set of dlls. This web service doesn't seem to have the same issue that the web site has. Both applications are using .net framework 3.5, separate app pools on IIS. Here is the code I'm using to wrap the dlls: public sealed class Mapper { static Mapper instance = null; [DllImport("kernel32.dll")] private static extern bool SetDllDirectory(string lpPathName); private Mapper() { SetDllDirectory(ConfigManager.Path); } public static Mapper Instance { get { if (instance == null) { instance = new Mapper(); } return instance; } } public int Foo(string bar, ref double val) { return Loader.Foo(bar, ref val); } } public static class Loader { [DllImport("some.dll", CallingConvention = CallingConvention.StdCall, CharSet = CharSet.Unicode, EntryPoint = "foo")] public static extern int Foo(string bar, ref double val); } Then I call it like this: double val = 0.0; Mapper.Instance.Foo("bar", ref val); Any ideas as to why it would "randomly" Unable to load DLL '': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E). The other problem is that I haven't been able to replicate the issue in the development environment. I thought that due to 2 applications calling the same dlls, that there could be some locks occurring. To replicate this, I created an app that spawned multiple threads and repeatedly called the 32bit dlls, and then used the web site to call these same dlls. I still couldn't replicate the issue. Some possible fixes that I can think of: Wrap the 32 bit dlls in web service (because the webservice doesn't seem to suffer from the same problem). But this may be worthless if it turns out that the web service also fails. Set up state server for the session state and periodically recycle the app pool for the site.This isn't fixing the problem, only avoiding it. Wrap the dll's in exe, and call that exe. Then I shouldn't get the same issue. But this also seems like a hacky solution. Implement the mapper class differently ? But how else should I be doing the call? The other draw back is that other applications are using this mapper, so I'd need to change there code too. Thanks

In other words I need a NULL for those bars that do not have an advert string.

    Using geopy to geocode alcohol outlets in NZ. The problem I have is that some places do not have street addresses but are places in Google Maps. For example, plugging: Furneaux Lodge, Endeavour Inlet, Queen Charlotte Sound, Marlborough 7250 into Google Maps via the browser GUI gives me However, using that in Geopy I get a GQueryError saying this geographic location does not exist.
