  • mounting without -o loop

    Hi, I have written a dummy (ram disk) block device driver for linux kernel. When the driver is loaded, I can see it as /dev/mybd. I can successfully transfer data onto it using dd command, compare the copied data successfully. The problem is that when I create ext2/3 filesystem on it, I have to use -o loop option with the mount command. Otherwise mount fails with following result: mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on mybd, missing codepage or helper program, or other error What could be the problem? Please help.     I want to split certain text using JavaSscript. The text looks like: 9:30 pm The user did action A. 10:30 pm Welcome, user John Doe. 11:30 am Messaged user John Doe Now, I want to split the string into events. i.e.: 9:30 pm The user did action A. would be one event. I'm using RegEx for this: var split = journals.split(/\d*\d:/); Thing is, the first two characters are getting lost. The split appears like this: 30 pm The user did action A. How do I split so that the split maintains the first two/three characters (ie 9: or 10:) etc? Thanks!

  • gwtQuery's outerWidth(true) and IE8 not working without putting a delay

    I recently came across an odd behavior when trying to calculate the width (with margins) of an element using gwtQuery. The goal is to get the width (including padding, borders and margins) of a given element as a child of a certain parent. This parent may define specific CSS rules for some children so I clone it, add my element to this parent, call .outerWidth(true) to get the width and finally remove the clone from the parent. It works fine on Chrome, Firefox and IE 10, but randomly fails (outputs 0) on IE 8. However I noticed that if I put a "sleep" between the moment I add the element to the DOM and the moment I get the outer width, it always succeeds. I obviously don't want to keep that sleep. So my question is does anyone has any insights on how to work around this behavior or even a better way of achieving the same goal? Thank you!     I have this code in my Rails 3 controller: def index now = Time.now.utc.strftime("%m%d") redirect_to :action => "show", :id => now end def show begin @date = Time.parse("12#{params[:id]}") dbdate = params[:id] rescue ArgumentError @date = Time.now.utc dbdate = @date.strftime("%m%d") end @date = @date.strftime("%B %d") @events = Event.events_for_date(dbdate) end So basically index is just a specialized version of show, hence I want it to execute show, render the show.html.erb view - but I do not want to change the URL like redirect_to does. I have tried this approach: def index now = Time.now.utc.strftime("%m%d") params[:id] = now show render :action => "show" end Now, this works, but it just smells badly. I'm new to Ruby and Rails, so I just wonder if there is something fundamentally wrong or if there is a better way to do this?

  • PHP Redirect one page to another server without showing URL

    Having just written the title for this question I am aware of how dodgy it sounds! I am writing a back end for storing volunteer information for some friends, they have their own website to which I can add a volunteer.php page. What I want is for that page to redirect to a page on my server showing the form for the users to fill in, I would prefer the ugly URL of my site not to show. Is there an easy way to do this? Load the page inside the remotely hosted page somehow? Thanks, Gav

    I have a vector v with row positions: v<-c(10,3,100,50,...) with those positions I want to extract elements of a matrix, having a column fixed, for example lets suppose my column number is 2, so I am doing: data<-c() data<-c(matrix[[v]][[2]]) matrix has the data in the following format: [[34]] [1] "200_s_at" "4853" "1910" "3554" "2658" So for example, I want to extract from the row 342 the value 1910 only, column 2, and do the same with the next rows but I got an error when I want to do that, is it possible to do it directly? or should I have a loop that read one by one the positions in v and fill the data vector like: #algorithm for i<-1 to length(v) pos<-v[i] data[[i]]<-c(matriz[[pos]][[2]]) next i Thanks

  • Show ContextMenuStrip from ToolStripDropDown without dismissing ToolStripDropDown

    I have a ToolStrip. In my ToolStrip I have a ToolStripDropDownButton. My ToolStripDropDownButton has a DropDown of type ToolStripDropDown that contains a ToolStripControlHost which contains a Label. I have assigned a ContextMenuStrip to my Label. When I show the DropDown and right-click on the label, the ContextMenuStrip displays correctly, but the original DropDown is dismissed. I can understand the existence of underlying code to prevent the display of two "ToolStripItems" at the same time and I'm assuming that's what I'm running in to here. Anybody know of a way around it?

    Is there a way to know what parameters are needed by an event in Visual Studio 2010? Let's say I have a DropDownList control and I want to bind a method to the "OnSelectedIndexChanged", I would do something like this In the ASPX File: <asp:DropDownList ID="lstMyList" runat="server" OnSelectedIndexChanged="lstMyList_SelectedIndexChanged"></asp:DropDownList> In the codebehind: protected void lstMyList_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { ... } Is there a way to know what parameters the method needs? (In this case, an object for the sender and an EventArgs parameter for the event.) I know you can easily create the method by double-clicking the right event in Design Mode, but it does a mess with your code so I prefer not to use it. Thanks!

  • gcc does not resolve extern global variables, with or without -c option

    Hello everyone! So i have this issue : i am declaring some extern global variables in my C program. If I don't use the -c option for gcc, i get undefined references errors. But with that -c option, the linking is not done, which means that i don't have an executable generated. So how do I solve this? Here is my makefile. As I am not good with writing makefiles, I took one from another project then I changed a few things.     Hi, I want to split a string in C#.NET that looks like this: string Letters = "hello"; and put each letter (h, e, l, l, o) into an array or ArrayList. I have no idea what to use as the delimiter in String.Split(delimiter). I can do it if the original string has commas (or anything else): string Letters = "H,e,l,l,o"; string[] AllLettersArray = Letters.Split(",".ToCharArray()); But I have no idea what to use in a case with (supposedly) no delimiter. Is there a special character like Environment.Newline? Thanks.

  • API-based solutions for sending payments to people without bank accounts

    I'm looking for inexpensive ways to send payments to hundreds or thousands of individual contractors, even if they do not have a bank account. Currently I only need to support payment in the USA, but may eventually be international. Here's the scenario: I offer a service that allows an organization or manager-type person to coordinate contractors for very short term jobs. These jobs are typically only an hour or two in length. A contractor may get only one job over an entire month, several jobs spread out over a month, multiple jobs on a single day, or any other combination. Thus, a single contractor could earn as little as one job's payment up to potentially payment for dozens. Payment for a month could be as little as $10 up to $1000's. Right now, the system provides payroll reports to the manager and it is the manager's responsibility to produce checks, stuff envelopes, and send mail via the US postal service. I'd like to remove this burden from the manager and have all the payments taken care of for them automatically by the system. I'm not sure where to start or what the best options would be. I'm starting to look into the following solutions, but don't know specifics yet and would like some advice before pursuing them. I'd also like to hear about other ideas or suggestions. PayPal (Send Money, Adaptive Payments, x.com, other???) Amazon (Flexible Payments System?) Fund some sort of pre-paid debit card? Web service with API that mails checks for you? Direct deposit via a bank API (for users with bank accounts)? The problem is that many of these contractors may not be able to obtain bank accounts or credit cards within the USA. I don't mind doing a hybrid of solutions, but are there any that would work well with this issue? I want the solution to be easy to use for the contractors, meaning that they can get the money easily (via check in the mail, debit card ATM withdrawal, etc.)

  • Asp.net web service: Problems accessing without www

    I have a Asp.net web service running on www.domain.com/Service.svc that I connect to using jQuery from my asp.net website. Everything works perfect if the user access my website with www.domain.com. But if the user uses only domain.com I get error: There was no channel actively listening at 'http://domain.com/Service.svc/get?date=2010-10-09'. This is often caused by an incorrect address URI. Ensure that the address to which the message is sent matches an address on which a service is listening. In my web.config I use the serviceHostingEnvironment tag to get the service running on my webhost (it doesn't work otherwise). Maybe this is what causes the error?
