    I am running Apache 2.4.6 on my CentOS 6.4 server. Having some trouble with rewrite...so was trying to check loaded modules apache2ctl -M But that returns apache2ctl command not found So I tried which apache2ctl and I get no apache2ctl in (/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/root/bin) I am sure apache is installed and running. How do I find apache2ctl/ check loaded modules now?

  • The meaning of the first line output in the iwconfig command in Linux

    When I'm using the iwconfig command on my current wifi interface , wlan0 , the first line I get as output is wlan0 IEEE 802.11bgn. When I try to do this when I am connected to other WiFi's, I sometimes get other versions, like IEEE 802.11bg or IEEE 802.11abgn. I want to ask, what's the meaning of this output? if the output is IEEE 802.11bgn then it means that this WiFi supports both the b , g and n standards or it means something else? Thnaks :)

  • WPF: Menu Items only bind command parameters once.

    Ive noticed this a couple of times when using menus with commands, they are not very dynamic, check this out. I am creating a menu from a collection of colours, I use it to colour a column in a datagrid. Anyway when i first bring up the menu (its a context menu) the command parameter binding happens and it binds to the column that the context menu was opened on. However the next time i bring it up it seems wpf caches the menu and it doesnt rebind the command parameter. so i can set the colour only on the initial column that the context menu appeared on. SNOOP shows that in cases when this propagation fails, instead of UserControl, CanExecute is handled by PART_ShowContextMenuButton (Button), which is part of docking header. I've had other issues with UI command propagation within UserControls hosted inside AvalonDock, but this one is the easiest to reproduce.

  • Supporting Piping (A Useful Hello World)

    I am trying to write a collection of simple C++ programs that follow the basic Unix philosophy by: Make each program do one thing well. Expect the output of every program to become the input to another, as yet unknown, program. I'm having an issue trying to get the output of one to be the input of the other, and getting the output of one be the input of a separate instance of itself. Very briefly, I have a program add which takes arguments and spits out the summation. I want to be able to pipe the output to another add instance. ./add 1 2 | ./add 3 4 That should yield 6 but currently yields 10. I've encountered two problems: The cin waits for user input from the console. I don't want this, and haven't been able to find a simple example showing a the use of standard input stream without querying the user in the console. If someone knows of an example please let me know. I can't figure out how to use standard input while supporting piping. Currently, it appears it does not work. If I issue the command ./add 1 2 | ./add 3 4 it results in 7. The relevant code is below: add.cpp snippet // ... In order to tidy this table up, I need to get this information as a date range rather than a row per day as it currently is. I can obviously do this with Min and Max aggregates easily but the ranges overlap and other business code expect non-overlapping ranges. I also tried to achieve this with self joins and row_number(), but without much success...   • Linux Distro for Beginners

    Well... I know that's the question arising all over the Internet, but I couldn't find an answer to suit me after googling for quite some time. I'd like to get a Linux distribution, and start learning using the CLI. I'm looking for a distribution already having GNOME installed, as I'll be using Linux-Command.org as my learning resource, and I'm not very familiar with CLI-based web browsers. I'd mainly like to get to know my way around a UNIX-based system, and then I think I'd like to pick up a CLI-only distribution, and start doing more complex stuff. I've tried Ubuntu, Fedora Core, OpenSolaris and FreeBSD (the last two aren't linux distros, I know). Ubuntu and FC are fine, they do come with Firefox, but I'm not really sure they're meant for learning purposes. OpenSolaris was OK as well, but I haven't got to play with it enough. FreeBSD 7.2 did not want to install itself on my 13" MacBook Pro, it generated a kernel panic everytime while copying the files to the disk. So to sum this up, I'm trying to learn Linux, and I'm willing to invest time into this (that is, not giving up when the first problems arise). I also have intermediate knowledge of C++, if it helps, and I'm also using the CLI-vim to write small C++ CLI-based programs, so text editing should be any problem. And... speaking of Macs, how am I going to be limited if I try to learn how to use UNIX-based systems using the OS X Terminal? It uses bash 3.2, isn't this the same shell as the one found on most of the Linux machines? How does the fact that OS X is based on FreeBSD 4.4, if I'm not mistaking, affect this? Thanks in advance, and hopefully, I'll have a starting point ASAP.

First, download and install the extension from VS Gallery (Supports VS 2013 Professional and above). Once you install, you will see a new "Link To Work Item" menu item when you right click on a changeset in history window. Clicking Link To Work Item menu, will open a new dialog with which you can search for a work item. As you can see in below screenshot, this dialog displays the search result and also the type of the work item. You can also open work item from this dialog by right clicking on the work item and clicking 'Open'. Finally, clicking Save button, will actually link the work item to changeset. One feature which I think helpful, is you can select multiple changesets from history window and assign the work item to all those changesets.  To summarize the features Directly assign work items to changesets from history window Assign work item to multiple changesets Know the type of the work item before assigning. Open the work item from search results It also supports all default Visual Studio themes. Below is a small demo showcasing the working of this extension.     I am newbie on Linux Ubuntu machine. I logged in to the Ubuntu with username: student. There are some directories only allowed root user to access, for example /var/lib/mysql ,(I know I can use sudo to access but it is not what I want). If I want to get the access privilege on those directories with student account, is it so that I can run the following command : chown student: PATH_TO_ROOT_USER_PRIVILEGED_DIR and after that, I can access that directory by using my own account ? am I right? If I am right, then will root user lose the access privilege because I changed it to student user? If I am wrong, please tell me the right solution. P.S. please don't concern on what I am going to do on /var/lib/mysql directory, that is only my example, as I mentioned above, I mean generally *for those directories which only have root privilege*, can I use chown to change access privilege and will root user then loose the access because of the change made by chown ? I just wanna know the effect of chown.

    I have a folder full of .wav audio files. Some are stereo, most are mono splits. The mono split pairs are all named foo bar track.L.wav and foo bar track.R.wav I can use the command line tool sox to combine a mono pair into 1 stereo track like this: sox -M track1.L.wav track1.R.wav track1.Stereo.wav where the first 2 files are the mono pairs, and the third is the output stereo file. This is great, but I'd like to have a script that will automatically find all the mono pairs and combine them into stereo files. I.e., I need it to find all files which have the same name except for the .L. and .R. before the extension, and run sox on them, outputting to a new file with the same name without the L/R suffix. For example, if my folder contains these files: track1.L.wav track2.L.wav track3.L.wav track4.L.wav track1.R.wav track2.R.wav track3.R.wav track4.R.wav track6.wav track7.wav I need to run these commands: sox -M track1.L.wav track1.R.wav track1.Stereo.wav sox -M track2.L.wav track2.R.wav track2.Stereo.wav sox -M track3.L.wav track3.R.wav track3.Stereo.wav sox -M track4.L.wav track4.R.wav track4.Stereo.wav Here's where I am so far: for file in ./*.L.wav; do file2=`echo $file | sed 's_\(.*\).L.wav_\1.R.wav_'`; out=`echo $file | sed 's_\(.*\).L.wav_\1.STEREO.wav_'`; echo $file - $file2 - $out; done That works, but when I replace the echo line with sox -M $file $file2 $out; it doesn't work; spaces in the filenames cause it to fail.

This is the first time I'm making any .lib files.

  • Batch copy gives errors, xcopy works fine

    I am writing a general file backup program. It searches the drive for files matching a set of types and then writes them to a folder on the desktop. I wrote it using xcopy on Windows XP but upon learning that xcopy was deprecated in favor of robocopy in Vista and newer, still wanting to maintain compatibility I decided to switch to the non-deprecated copy. This is where the problems begin. I'm trying to fix the copy routine. I thought I had everything sorted out, but it doesn't copy anything. My output is zero files copied for every iteration. I know that it seems everyone uses either xcopy or robocopy but can anyone help with copy? Note: I'm using Batch to keep it very lightweight and command-line accessible.

    I'm creating a notification with something similar to the following: Intent ni = new Intent(this, SomeActivity.class); ni.putExtra("somestring", "somedata"); PendingIntent contentIntent = PendingIntent.getActivity(this, 0, ni, PendingIntent.FLAG_UPDATE_CURRENT|PendingIntent.FLAG_ONE_SHOT); Context context = getApplicationContext(); notification.setLatestEventInfo(context, res.getString(R.string.app_name), text, contentIntent); The key here is the extra data on the Intent for the notification. Once I click on the notification and it brings up SomeActivity, it brings up the activity and the extra data is available. However, if I exit the app, hold the home button until the recent activities list comes up, and choose to open the app again, the extra data is still passed. Is there a way I can make this data get passed only if the app is opened via the Notification, and not from the recent activities list?

  • Cron won't use msmtp to send emails in case of failed cronjob

    I'm trying to configure a machine so that it will send me an email if one of the cronjobs output something in case of an error. I'm using Debian Wheezy. Cron is working normally (without the email functionality). msmtp is installed and configured. Have already symlinked /usr/{bin|sbin}/sendmail to /usr/bin/msmtp. I can send email by using: echo "test" | mail -s "subject" [email protected] or by executing: echo "test" | /usr/sbin/sendmail Without the symlink (/usr/sbin/sendmail) cron will tell me that: (CRON) info (No MTA installed, discarding output) With the symlinks I get: (root) MAIL (mailed 1 byte of output; but got status 0x004e, #012) Can you suggest how to config the cron/msmtp pair? Thanks! EDIT: Note: I've written "msmtpd" by mistake. Its not a daemon but rather an SMTP client named just "msmtp" (without the "d" ending). It is executed on demand and it is not running in the background all the time. So it looks like that the msmtp client is working properly. It has to be something in the cron/msmtp integration, but I have no clue what that thing might be. Can you help me?
