• jQuery not loading on Master Page when the Content Page is in a child folder.

  I have a site where I am trying to implement a jQuery UI based MessageBox in my master page. Content pages are arranged accoring to business area folders, i.e. '~/Branding/Contracts.aspx'. I find that when I load such a content page, jQuery, which is referenced in the master page as below, does not load. I assume that this is because the browser is requesting 'Branding/Scripts/jQuery '. What can I do about this? • How to launch activity from android home screen widget

  Hi all, I am desperately trying to get my head wrapped around how to implement home screen widgets. Right now, I (finally) was able to get a button on my widget respond to a button press setting up an intent filter in the manifest. However, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to launch an activity when the button is pressed. Basically, here's the code i have: @Override public void onReceive(Context context, Intent intent) { super.onReceive(context, intent); if(intent.getAction().equals("com.bic.search.searchWidget.CLICK")) { Toast.makeText(context, "It works!!", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } } What I really want to do, though, is start a new activity, not display a toast message. I know it has something to do with pending intents, but I can't figure out how to get that to work. Any help and sample code would be appreciated. Thanks a ton to whoever answers this!

• Objective-C "miscasting" a string/int using stringWithFormat and %d

  Hi, I think this is a relatively simple question, but I don't precisely know what's happening. I have a method that tries to build a string using NSString's stringWithFormat It looks like this: NSString *line1 = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"the car is %d miles away", self.ma]; In the above line "self.ma" should be an int, but in my case, I made an error and "self.ma" actually points to a NSString. So, I understand that the line should read NSString *line1 = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"the car is %@ miles away", self.ma]; but my question is what is the %d in the first example doing to my NSString? If I use the debugger, I can see that in once case, "self.ma" equals "32444", but somehow the %d converts it to 1255296. I would've guessed that the conversion of 32444 = 1255296 is some type of base-numbering conversion (hex to dec or something), but that doesn't appear to be the case. Any idea as to what %d is doing to my string? TIA

• Quick question on session security.

  Hey guys, I was scanning my site for security and I noticed that it was possible for non users to send requests and post information, so I decided to put login checks on all information posts. I was wondering if it was a good way to keep a session id that is created by md5(uniqid()); in a session variable $_SESSION['id']=md5(uniqid()); for each user and then store that in a database under active users for that user. Then when a user tries to insert information, verify that their $_SESSION['id'] variable is equal to the one in the database where the username equals their $_SESSION['username']. What are your ideas on this guys? Thanks in advance!

  I am basically looking to bind a search query to a gridview which is nice, but this must be done by a users input query (sort of like a search function). I can get single values and rows returned, but how would I get it to search all columns in my database for the inputted values and return it? I am using ZipInputStream to read my stream and my code is something like ZipInputStream docXFile = new ZipInputStream(fileName); ZipEntry zipEntry; while ((zipEntry = docXFile.getNextEntry()) != null) { if(zipEntry.getName().equals("word/document.xml")) { System.out.println(" --> zip Entry is "+zipEntry.getName()); } } As you can see The output for zipEntry.getName comes as "word/document.xml" at some point. I need to pass this document.xml as a stream and unlike the ZipFile method where you can easily pass this on calling .getInputStream, I am wondering how can I do this docXFile?   It's clear that a search performance of the generic HashSet<T> class is higher than of the generic List<T> class. Just compare the hash-based key with the linear approach in the List<T> class. However calculating a hash key may itself take some CPU cycles, so for a small amount of items the linear search can be a real alternative to the HashSet<T>. My question: where is the break-even? To simplify the scenario (and to be fair) let's assume that the List<T> class uses the element's Equals() method to identify an item.

I only want to make one JSP, but I don't know in advance if the object has an attribute or not. • Python serialize lexical closures?

  Is there a way to serialize a lexical closure in Python using the standard library? pickle and marshal appear not to work with lexical closures. I don't really care about the details of binary vs. string serialization, etc., it just has to work. For example: def foo(bar, baz) : def closure(waldo) : return baz * waldo return closure I'd like to just be able to dump instances of closure to a file and read them back. Edit: One relatively obvious way that this could be solved is with some reflection hacks to convert lexical closures into class objects and vice-versa. One could then convert to classes, serialize, unserialize, convert back to closures. Heck, given that Python is duck typed, if you overloaded the function call operator of the class to make it look like a function, you wouldn't even really need to convert it back to a closure and the code using it wouldn't know the difference. If any Python reflection API gurus are out there, please speak up.

• parsing string according to oracle operators with regex

  Hi, Basically I was trying to replace the part of string with its actual value which comes immediately after oracle operators. I can do this for limited operators list like {=,,<} but I wonder that is there any way out to gather all the operators rather than giving them by hands? For instance, I have this string; "a = xyz", then I will replace xyz with lets say 3. But as you know we have bunch of operator namely "like,in,exists etc". So my string can also be this: "a like xyz". So what do you suggest me? Thanks.

  I am working on my first desktop app that queries LDAP. I'm working in C under unix and using opends, and I'm new to LDAP. After woking a while on that I noticed that the user could be able to alter the LDAP query by injecting malicious code. I'd like to know which sanitizing techniques are known, not only for C/unix development but in more general terms, i.e., web development etc. I thought that escaping equals and semicolons would be enough, but not sure. I.e.: 100; 100.0; 100.00; 100.000 -> 100 100.2; 100.02; 100.20; 100.22 -> 100.xx but 100.221 -> 100.22 100.229 -> 100.22 Using which SQL operator can I check that residue of division in decimal digit is greater then zero?

What I'm stuck with is where and what to place in my code to have the console read out "Enter palindrome..." and then text. I've tried with IO but it doesnt work out right. Also, how do I create a loop to keep going?
