  • Utility to Script SQL Server Configuration

    - by Bill Graziano
I wrote a small utility to script some key SQL Server configuration information. I had two goals for this utility: Assist with disaster recovery preparation Identify configuration changes I’ve released the application as open source through CodePlex. You can download it from CodePlex at the Script SQL Server Configuration project page. The application is a .NET 2.0 console application that uses SMO. It writes its output to a directory that you specify.  Disaster Planning ScriptSqlConfig generates scripts for logins, jobs and linked servers.  It writes the properties and configuration from the instance to text files. The scripts are designed so they can be run against a DR server in the case of a disaster. The properties and configuration will need to be manually compared. Each job is scripted to its own file. Each linked server is scripted to its own file. The linked servers don’t include the password if you use a SQL Server account to connect to the linked server. You’ll need to store those somewhere secure. All the logins are scripted to a single file. This file includes windows logins, SQL Server logins and any server role membership.  The SQL Server logins are scripted with the correct SID and hashed passwords. This means that when you create the login it will automatically match up to the users in the database and have the correct password. This is the only script that I programmatically generate rather than using SMO. The SQL Server configuration and properties are scripted to text files. These will need to be manually reviewed in the event of a disaster. Or you could DIFF them with the configuration on the new server. Configuration Changes These scripts and files are all designed to be checked into a version control system.  The scripts themselves don’t include any date specific information. In my environments I run this every night and check in the changes. I call the application once for each server and script each server to its own directory.  The process will delete any existing files before writing new ones. This solved the problem I had where the scripts for deleted jobs and linked servers would continue to show up.  To see any changes I just need to query the version control system to show many any changes to the files. Database Scripting Utilities that script database objects are plentiful.  CodePlex has at least a dozen of them including one I wrote years ago. The code is so easy to write it’s hard not to include that functionality. This functionality wasn’t high on my list because it’s included in a database backup.  Unless you specify the /nodb option, the utility will script out many user database objects. It will script one object per file. It will script tables, stored procedures, user-defined data types, views, triggers, table types and user-defined functions. I know there are more I need to add but haven’t gotten around it yet. If there’s something you need, please log an issue and get it added. Since it scripts one object per file these really aren’t appropriate to recreate an empty database. They are really good for checking into source control every night and then seeing what changed. I know everyone tells me all their database objects are in source control but a little extra insurance never hurts. Conclusion I hope this utility will help a few of you out there. My goal is to have it script all server objects that aren’t contained in user databases. This should help with configuration changes and especially disaster recovery.

  • Customizing the Test Status on the TFS 2010 SSRS Stories Overview Report

    - by Bob Hardister
This post shows how to customize the SQL query used by the Team Foundation Server 2010 SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) Stories Overview Report. The objective is to show test status for the current version while including user story status of the current and prior versions.  Why? Because we don’t copy completed user stories into the next release. We only want one instance of a user story for the product because we believe copies can get out of sync when they are supposed to be the same. In the example below, work items for the current version are on the area path root and prior versions are not on the area path root. However, you can use area path or iteration path criteria in the query as suits your needs. In any case, here’s how you do it: 1. Download a copy of the report RDL file as a backup 2. Open the report by clicking the edit down arrow and selecting “Edit in Report Builder” 3. Right click on the dsOverview Dataset and select Dataset Properties 4. Update the following SQL per the comments in the code: Customization 1 of 3 … -- Get the list deliverable workitems that have Test Cases linked DECLARE @TestCases Table (DeliverableID int, TestCaseID int); INSERT @TestCases     SELECT h.ID, flh.TargetWorkItemID     FROM @Hierarchy h         JOIN FactWorkItemLinkHistory flh             ON flh.SourceWorkItemID = h.ID                 AND flh.WorkItemLinkTypeSK = @TestedByLinkTypeSK                 AND flh.RemovedDate = CONVERT(DATETIME, '9999', 126)                 AND flh.TeamProjectCollectionSK = @TeamProjectCollectionSK         JOIN [CurrentWorkItemView] wi ON flh.TargetWorkItemID = wi.[System_ID]                  AND wi.[System_WorkItemType] = @TestCase             AND wi.ProjectNodeGUID  = @ProjectGuid              --  Customization 1 of 3: only include test status information when test case area path = root. Added the following statement              AND wi.AreaPath = '{the root area path of the team project}'       GROUP BY h.ID … Customization 2 of 3 … -- Add the Bugs linked to the Test Cases which are linked to the deliverable workitems -- Walks the links from the user stories to test cases (via the tested by link), and then to -- bugs that are linked to the test case. Added the following statement         AND wi.AreaPath = '{the root area path of the team project}'     GROUP BY tc.DeliverableID … 5. Save the report and you’re all set. Note: you may need to re-apply custom parameter changes like pre-selected sprints.

  • Using 3rd Party JavaScript Plugins Hardwired With &lsquo;document.write&rsquo;

    - by ToStringTheory
Introduction Have you ever had the need to implement a 3rd party JavaScript plugin, but your needs didn’t fit the model and usage defined by the API or documentation of the plugin?  Recently I ran into this issue when I was trying to implement a web snapshot plugin into our site.  To use their plugin, you had to include a script tag to the plugin on their server with an API key.  The second part of the usage was to include a <script> tag around a function call wherever you wanted a snapshot to appear. The Problem When trying to use the service, the images did not display.  I checked a couple of things and didn’t find anything wrong at first..  It wasn’t until I looked at the function that was called by the inline script did I find the issue – a call to the webservice, followed by a call to ‘document.write’ in its callback.  The solution in which I was trying to implement the plugin happened to be in response to an AJAX call after the document had completely loaded.  After the page has loaded, document.write does nothing. My first thought for a solution was to just cache the script from the service, and edit it do something like a return function or callback that I could use to edit the document from.  However, I quickly discovered that there is no way to cache the script from the service, as it had a hash in the function where it would call the server.  The hash was updated every few seconds/minutes, expiring old hashes.  This meant that I wouldn’t be able to edit the script and upload a new version to my server, as the script would not work after a few minutes from originally getting the script from the service. Solution The solution eluded me until I realized that this was JavaScript I was dealing with.  A language designed so that you could do just about anything to any library, function, or object…  At this point, the solution was simple – take control of the document.write function.  Using a buffer variable, and a simple function call, it is eerily simple to perform: //what would have been output to the document var buffer = ""; //store a reference to the real document.write var dw = document.write; //redefine document.write to store to our buffer document.write = function (str) {buffer += str;} //execute the function containing calls to document.write eval('{function encapsulated in <script></script> tags}'); //restore the original document.write function (just in case) document.write = dw; That’s it.  Instead of using the script tags where I wanted to include a snapshot, I called a function passing in the URL to the page I wanted a snapshot of.  After that last line of code, what would have been output to the document (or not in the case of the ajax call) was instead stored in buffer. Conclusion While the solution itself is simple, coming from a background much more footed in the .Net platform, I believe that this is a prime example of always keeping the language that you are working in in mind.  While this may seem obvious at first, as I KNEW I was in JavaScript, I never thought of taking control of the document.write function because I am more accustomed to the .Net world.  I can’t simply replace the functionality of Console.WriteLine.

  • Android NDK Gaussian Blur radius stuck at 60

    - by rennoDeniro
I implemented this NDK imeplementation of a Gaussian Blur, But I am having problems. I cannot increase the radius above 60, otherwise the activity just closes returning to a previous activity. No error message, nothing? Does anyone know why this could be? • Greasemonkey @require jQuery not working "Component not available"

    - by Greg K
I've seen the other question on here about loading jQuery in a Greasemonkey. Having tried that method, with this require statement inside my ==UserScript== tags: // @require http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1/jquery.min.js I still get the following error message in Firefox's error console: Error: Component is not available Source File: file:///Users/greg/Library/Application%20Support/ Firefox/Profiles/xo9xhovo.default/gm_scripts/myscript/jquerymin.js Line: 36 This stops my greasemonkey code from running. I've made sure I included the @require for jQuery and saved my js file before installing it, as required files are only loaded on installation. Code: // ==UserScript== // @name My Script // @namespace http://www.google.com // @description My test script // @include http://www.google.com // @require http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1/jquery.min.js // ==/UserScript== GM_log("Hello"); I have Greasemonkey 0.8.20091209.4 installed on Firefox 3.5.7 on my Macbook Pro, Leopard (10.5.8). I've cleared my cache (except cookies) and have disabled all other plugins except Flashblock 1.5.11.2, Web Developer 1.1.8 and Adblock Plus 1.1.3. I have the following main.html file: <html> {% include 'main/main_css.html' %} <body> test! <a href="{% url login.views.logout_view %}">logout</a> test! <a href="{% url client.views.client_search_last_name_view %}">logout</a> </body> </html> with the urls.py being: from django.conf.urls.defaults import * import settings from login.views import * from mainapp.views import * from client.views import * # Uncomment the next two lines to enable the admin: from django.contrib import admin admin.autodiscover() urlpatterns = patterns('', # Example: # (r'^weclaim/', include('weclaim.foo.urls')), (r'^login/$', 'login.views.login_view'), (r'^logout/$', 'login.views.logout_view'), (r'^$', 'mainapp.views.main_view'), (r'^client/search/last_name/(A-Za-z)/$', 'client.views.client_search_last_name_view'), #(r'^client/search/post_code/(A-Za-z)/$', 'client.views.client_search_last_name_view'), # Uncomment the next line to enable the admin: (r'^admin/', include(admin.site.urls)), (r'^static/(?P<path>.*)$', 'django.views.static.serve',{'document_root': settings.MEDIA_ROOT}), ) and the views.py for login being: from django.shortcuts import render_to_response, redirect from django.template import RequestContext from django.contrib import auth import mainapp.views def login_view(request): if request.method == 'POST': uname = request.POST.get('username', '') psword = request.POST.get('password', '') user = auth.authenticate(username=uname, password=psword) # if the user logs in and is active if user is not None and user.is_active: auth.login(request, user) return redirect(mainapp.views.main_view) else: return render_to_response('loginpage.html', {'login_failed': '1',}, context_instance=RequestContext(request)) else: return render_to_response('loginpage.html', {'dave': '1',}, context_instance=RequestContext(request)) def logout_view(request): auth.logout(request) return render_to_response('loginpage.html', {'logged_out': '1',}, context_instance=RequestContext(request)) and the views.py for clients being: from django.shortcuts import render_to_response, redirect from django.template import RequestContext import login.views def client_search_last_name_view(request): if request.user.is_authenticated(): return render_to_response('client/client_search_last_name.html', {}, context_instance=RequestContext(request)) else: return redirect(login.views.login_view) Yet when I login it django raises an 'NoReverseMatch' for {% url client.views.client_search_last_name_view %} but not for {% url login.views.logout_view %} Now why would this be?

When invoking g_slist_free(list) i also free the data contained by the elements ? Why all those memory leaks appear ? Is valgrind a suitable tool for profilinf memory issues when using a complex library like GLib ? LATER EDIT: If I g_slist_foreach(l,(GFunc)g_free,NULL);, the valgrind report is different, (All the memory leaks from 'definitely lost' will move to 'indirectly lost'). Still I don't see the point ? Aren't GLib collections implement a way to be freed ?

  • Trying to exclude certain extensions doing a recursive copy (MSBuild)

    - by Kragen
I'm trying to use MSBuild to read in a list of files from a text file, and then perform a recursive copy, copying the contents of those directories files to some staging area, while excluding certain extensions (e.g. .tmp files) I've managed to do most of the above quite easily using CreateItem and the MSBuild copy task, whatever I do the CreateItem task just ignores my Exclude parameter: <PropertyGroup> <RootFolder>c:\temp</RootFolder> <ExcludeFilter>*.tmp</ExcludeFilter> <StagingDirectory>staging</StagingDirectory> </PropertyGroup> <ItemGroup> <InputFile Include="MyFile.txt" /> </ItemGroup> <Target Name="Build"> <ReadLinesFromFile File="@(InputFile)"> <Output ItemName="AllFolders" TaskParameter="Lines" /> </ReadLinesFromFile> <CreateItem Include="$(RootFolder)\%(AllFolders.RelativeDir)**" Exclude="$(ExcludeFilter)"> <Output ItemName="AllFiles" TaskParameter="Include" /> </CreateItem> <Copy SourceFiles="@(AllFiles)" DestinationFolder="$(StagingDirectory)\%(RecursiveDir)" Example contents of 'MyFile.txt': somedirectory\ someotherdirectory\ (I.e. the paths are relative to $(RootFolder) - mention this because I read somewhere that it might be relevant) I've tried loads of different combinations of Exclude filters, but I never seem to be able to get it to correctly exclude my .tmp files - is there any way of doing this with MSBuild without resorting to xcopy?

  • How do I work around the GCC "error: cast from ‘SourceLocation*’ to ‘int’ loses precision" error when compiling cmockery.c?

    - by Daryl Spitzer
I need to add unit tests using Cmockery to an existing build environment that uses as hand-crafted Makefile. So I need to figure out how to build cmockery.c (without automake). When I run: g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -DPIC -I ../cmockery-0.1.2 -I /usr/include/malloc -c ../cmockery-0.1.2/cmockery.c -o obj/cmockery.o I get a long list of errors like this: ../cmockery-0.1.2/cmockery.c: In function ‘void initialize_source_location(SourceLocation*)’: ../cmockery-0.1.2/cmockery.c:248: error: cast from ‘SourceLocation*’ to ‘int’ loses precision Here are lines 247:248 of cmockery.c: static void initialize_source_location(SourceLocation * const location) { assert_true(location); assert_true is defined on line 154 of cmockery.h: #define assert_true(c) _assert_true((int)(c), #c, __FILE__, __LINE__) So the problem (as the error states) is GCC doesn't like the cast from ‘SourceLocation*’ to ‘int’. I can build Cmockery using ./configure and make (on Linux, and on Mac OS X if I export CFLAGS=-I/usr/include/malloc first), without any errors. I've tried looking at the command-line that compiles cmockery.c when I run make (after ./configure): gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I./src -I./src -Isrc/google -I/usr/include/malloc -MT libcmockery_la-cmockery.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/libcmockery_la-cmockery.Tpo -c src/cmockery.c -fno-common -DPIC -o .libs/libcmockery_la-cmockery.o ...but I don't see any options that might work around this error. In "error: cast from 'void*' to 'int' loses precision", I see I could change (int) in cmockery.h to (intptr_t). And I've confirmed that works. But since I can build Cmockery with ./configure and make, there must be a way to get it to build without modifying the source.

  • Using Essential Use Cases to design a UI-centric Application

    - by Bruno Brant
Hello all, I'm begging a new project (oh, how I love the fresh taste of a new project!) and we are just starting to design it. In short: The application is a UI that will enable users to model an execution flow (a Visio like drag & drop interface). So our greatest concern is usability and features that will help the users model fast and clearly the execution flow. Our established methodology makes extensive use of Use Cases in order to create a harmonious view of the application between the programmers and users. This is a business concern, really: I'd prefer to use an Agile Method with User Stories rather than User Cases, but we need to define a clear scope to sell the product to our clients. However, Use Cases have a number of flaws, most of which are related to the fact that they include technical details, like UI, etc, as can be seem here. But, since we can't use User Stories and a fully interactive design, I've decided that we compromise: I will be using Essential Use Cases in order to hide those details. Now I have another problem: it's essential (no pun intended) to have a clear description of UI interaction, so, how should I document it? In other words, how do I specify a application through the use of Essential Use Cases where the UI interaction is vital to it? I can see some alternatives: Abandon the use of Use Cases since they don't correctly represent the problem Do not include interface descriptions in the use case, but create another documentation (Story Boards) and link then to the Essential Use Cases Include UI interaction description to the Essential Use Cases, since they are part of the business rules in the perspective of the users and the application itself

    The problem I am having is that when say for instance the user enters 7, then the display shows: 0 11 2 3 5 8 13 21 child ends. I cannot seem to figure out how to fix the 11 and why is it displaying that many numbers in the sequence! Can anyone help? The number of the sequence will be provided in the command line. For example, if 5 is provided, the first five numbers in the Fibonacci sequence will be output by the child process. Because the parent and child processes have their own copies of the data, it will be necessary for the child to output the sequence. Have the parent invoke the wait() call to wait for the child process to complete before exiting the program. Perform necessary error checking to ensure that a non-negative number is passed on the command line. #include <stdio.h> #include <sys/types.h> #include <unistd.h> int main() { int a=0, b=1, n=a+b,i,ii; pid_t pid; printf("Enter the number of a Fibonacci Sequence:\n"); scanf("%d", &ii); if (ii < 0) printf("Please enter a non-negative integer!\n"); else { pid = fork(); if (pid == 0) { printf("Child is producing the Fibonacci Sequence...\n"); printf("%d %d",a,b); for (i=0;i<ii;i++) { n=a+b; printf("%d ", n); a=b; b=n; } printf("Child ends\n"); } else { printf("Parent is waiting for child to complete...\n"); wait(NULL); printf("Parent ends\n"); } } return 0; }

  • Trying to parse OpenCV YAML ouput with yaml-cpp

    - by Kenn Sebesta
I've got a series of OpenCv generated YAML files and would like to parse them with yaml-cpp I'm doing okay on simple stuff, but the matrix representation is proving difficult. # Center of table tableCenter: !!opencv-matrix rows: 1 cols: 2 dt: f data: [ 240, 240] This should map into the vector 240 240 with type float. My code looks like: #include "yaml.h" #include <fstream> #include <string> struct Matrix { int x; }; void operator >> (const YAML::Node& node, Matrix& matrix) { unsigned rows; node["rows"] >> rows; } int main() { std::ifstream fin("monsters.yaml"); YAML::Parser parser(fin); YAML::Node doc; Matrix m; doc["tableCenter"] >> m; return 0; } But I get terminate called after throwing an instance of 'YAML::BadDereference' what(): yaml-cpp: error at line 0, column 0: bad dereference Abort trap I searched around for some documentation for yaml-cpp, but there doesn't seem to be any, aside from a short introductory example on parsing and emitting. Unfortunately, neither of these two help in this particular circumstance. As I understand, the !! indicate that this is a user-defined type, but I don't see with yaml-cpp how to parse that.

  • maven-jar-plugin includes vs excludes

    - by Chris Williams
I've got an existing pom file that includes a maven-jar-plugin section. It runs for the test-jar goal and is currently excluding a few directories: <excludes> <exclude>...</exclude> <exclude>...</exclude> <exclude>somedir/**</exclude> </excludes> I need to include a file in the somedir directory but leave out the rest of the files in the somedir directory. I've read that includes have precedence over excludes so I added something like the following (there was no includes section before): <includes> <include>somedir/somefile.xml</include> </includes> This ends up creating a jar file for test with only a few files in it (just the stuff in META-INF). The file that I included is not in the jar either. What I'd expect is a jar that is identical to the jar that was created before my includes change with the one additional file. What am I missing here?

  • Using {% url ??? %} in django templates

    - by user563247
I have looked a lot on google for answers of how to use the 'url' tag in templates only to find many responses saying 'You just insert it into your template and point it at the view you want the url for'. Well no joy for me :( I have tried every permutation possible and have resorted to posting here as a last resort. So here it is. My urls.py looks like this: from django.conf.urls.defaults import * from login.views import * from mainapp.views import * import settings # Uncomment the next two lines to enable the admin: from django.contrib import admin admin.autodiscover() urlpatterns = patterns('', # Example: # (r'^weclaim/', include('weclaim.foo.urls')), (r'^login/', login_view), (r'^logout/', logout_view), ('^$', main_view), # Uncomment the admin/doc line below and add 'django.contrib.admindocs' # to INSTALLED_APPS to enable admin documentation: # (r'^admin/doc/', include('django.contrib.admindocs.urls')), # Uncomment the next line to enable the admin: (r'^admin/', include(admin.site.urls)), #(r'^static/(?P<path>.*)$', 'django.views.static.serve',{'document_root': '/home/arthur/Software/django/weclaim/templates/static'}), (r'^static/(?P<path>.*)$', 'django.views.static.serve',{'document_root': settings.MEDIA_ROOT}), ) My 'views.py' in my 'login' directory looks like: from django.shortcuts import render_to_response, redirect from django.template import RequestContext from django.contrib import auth def login_view(request): if request.method == 'POST': uname = request.POST.get('username', '') psword = request.POST.get('password', '') user = auth.authenticate(username=uname, password=psword) # if the user logs in and is active if user is not None and user.is_active: auth.login(request, user) return render_to_response('main/main.html', {}, context_instance=RequestContext(request)) #return redirect(main_view) else: return render_to_response('loginpage.html', {'box_width': '402', 'login_failed': '1',}, context_instance=RequestContext(request)) else: return render_to_response('loginpage.html', {'box_width': '400',}, context_instance=RequestContext(request)) def logout_view(request): auth.logout(request) return render_to_response('loginpage.html', {'box_width': '402', 'logged_out': '1',}, context_instance=RequestContext(request)) and finally the main.html to which the login_view points looks like: <html> <body> test! <a href="{% url logout_view %}">logout</a> </body> </html> So why do I get 'NoReverseMatch' every time? *(on a slightly different note I had to use 'context_instance=RequestContext(request)' at the end of all my render-to-response's because otherwise it would not recognise {{ MEDIA_URL }} in my templates and I couldn't reference any css or js files. I'm not to sure why this is. Doesn't seem right to me)*

  • Strange error coming from ActiveRecord (probably)

    - by artemave
My development environment: Ubuntu 9 Ruby 1.9.1/1.8.7 (rvm) Rails 2.3.5 Mysql 5.0 Apache Passenger Below is the part of the program flow to represent the issue. Request comes: #action def create begin @report = Report.new(params[:report]) ... rescue LocationNotFound => e ... end end Report constructor: class Report attr_accessor :locations def initialize(params = {}) @locations = params[:locations] ? fetch_locations(params[:locations]) : [] end ... end fetch_locations: def fetch_locations(loc_names) Rails.logger.debug "LOC_NAMES: " + loc_names.inspect ls = Location.find(:all, :conditions => [ # line 57 "locations.name in (#{loc_names.map{'?'}.join(',')})", *loc_names ], :include => [:sample_summaries, :samples]) # loc_names will never be empty ... end Location model: class Location < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :sample_summaries has_many :samples, :through => :sample_summaries ... end Now, the first time (after passenger restart) this runs fine and does the job. Most of the consequent times I get the error: Mar-11 11:01:00 #15098 DEBUG: LOC_NAMES: ["Moscow, RF", "London, UK"] Mar-11 11:01:00 #15098 DEBUG: Location Load (0.0ms) SELECT * FROM `locations` WHERE (locations.name in ('Moscow, RF','London, UK')) Mar-11 11:01:00 #15098 DEBUG: SampleSummary Load (0.0ms) SELECT `sample_summaries`.* FROM `sample_summaries` WHERE (`sample_summaries`.location_id IN (1,3)) Mar-11 11:01:00 #15098 DEBUG: SampleSummary Columns (0.0ms) SHOW FIELDS FROM `sample_summaries` Mar-11 11:01:00 #15098 FATAL: NoMethodError (You have a nil object when you didn't expect it! Any ideas? P.S. I also tried to wrap the query in uncached block, but that didn't change anything. EDIT Here is what SampleSummary model looks like: class SampleSummary < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :samples belongs_to :location ... #validations default_scope :include => :samples, :order => 'rss_ts desc' ... end

  • Login URL using authentication information in Django

Labs View [teachers app views.py] from django.http import HttpResponse, HttpResponseRedirect, Http404 from django.shortcuts import render_to_response from django.template import RequestContext from django.contrib.auth.decorators import user_passes_test from django.contrib.auth.models import User from accounts.models import * from labs.models import * def user_is_teacher(user): return user.is_authenticated() and user.get_profile().is_teacher @user_passes_test(user_is_teacher, login_url="/login/") def labs(request, username): q1 = User.objects.get(username=username) q2 = u'%s %s' % (q1.last_name, q1.first_name) q2 = Teacher.objects.get(name=q2) results = TeacherToLab.objects.filter(teacher=q2) return render_to_response('teachers/labs.html', {'results': results}, context_instance = RequestContext(request)) I'm using @user_passes_test decorator for checking whether the authenticated user has the permission to use this view [labs view]. The problem I'm having with the current logic is that once Django authenticates a teacher user he has access to all teachers profiles basically by typing the teachers username in the url. Once a teacher finds a co-worker's username he has direct access to his data. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

  • BindAttribute, Exclude nested properties for complex types

I can't seem to Include or Exclude properties within a nested object.

  • How to load static files from view HTML in web2py?

    - by MikeWyatt
Given a view with layout, how can I load static files (CSS and JS, essentially) into the <head> from the view file? layout.html <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="{{=T.accepted_language or 'en'}}"> <head> <title>{{=response.title or request.application}}</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> <!-- include requires CSS files {{response.files.append(URL(request.application,'static','base.css'))}} {{response.files.append(URL(request.application,'static','ez-plug-min.css'))}} --> {{include 'web2py_ajax.html'}} </head> <body> {{include}} </body> </html> myview.html {{extend 'layout.html'}} {{response.files.append(URL(r=request,c='static',f='myview.css'))}} <h1>Some header</h1> <div> some content </div> In the above example, the "myview.css" file is either ignored by web2py or stripped out by the browser. So what is the best way to load page-specific files like this CSS file? I'd rather not stuff all my static files into my layout.
