    I just bought a gaming notebook (model G1711) from a local brand in Brazil named Avell. Its configuration is quite advanced and this is the reason for my purchase. However, all of their official support relies on Windows 7 or 8, actually. So would Ubuntu work on this machine? It is an i5 Haswell, Chipset Intel HM87, Nvidia Geforce GTX 765M, sound with THX TruStudio Pro, Blu-ray writer, US layout keybord 101/102, USB 2 and 3.0, eSata port, 9 in one memory card reader.

  • Some Facebook Pages Show Tabs On The Top Of Page, And Others On The Left. Why?

    Hi everyone, I am developing a Facebook page for my web design/development business, and I've noticed that the page I have created has the tabs aligned to the left hand side of the page underneath the page image. I then look at other pages such as Wetherspoons and Porsche and their tabs are aligned to the top of the page. Why is it like this? Ideally I want to design the template in a "publishing like" tool with placeholders and replace these placeholders by the web application with the data from the database.   • Control mouse pointer with keyboard without a number pad

    I have dell laptop which does not have a numberpad, only a set of numbers above the qwerty layout. I want to be able to control the mouse cursor with my arrow keys. I activated the mouse keys by going to "System Setting" - "Universal Access" - "Pointing and Clicking" and activate "Mouse Keys" But still, I am unable to control the mouse cursor. How do I get this going so I don't have to take my hands off the keyboard?

The LAYOUT of popBox2 and popBox3 same as popBox1, but the arrow of the popBox is under the btn. Specifically to get either (` and ~) or (´ and ¨) I have to press the key twice. Only these two keys behave this way - every other key mapping works.
