• What can cause forms authentication to forget you are logged in?

  I have an asp.net web site that uses forms authentication. When users check the "remember me" it will remember the user if they close the browser and come back. I have the timeout set for a day or so. Recently I've noticed that I can be browsing the site and suddenly it forgets I'm logged in. It does not happen after 20 minutes as I can be actively browsing. My question is, what can cause this to happen? If the server recycles the app or app pool will the login be lost? On my local I can restart my machine and when I come back I'm still logged in.

• Flash Sprite looses focus on MOUSE_DOWN event

  My Sprite class keeps losing focus when I click with the mouse - specifically after the MOUSE_DOWN event (before the click is complete). I have set mouseEnabled to false on the children, no change. I added a listener for FOCUS_OUT and noticed that the FocusEvent.relatedObject property is NULL, which is confusing me - doesn't that mean there is no new focus target, the focus is just getting lost? • CSS not displayed depending on page

  I have a friend that has a really strange issue with my website. When he clicks on http://www.copeo.fr/ the page displays fine but when he clicks on a link like www.copeo.fr/user/ the CSS is not applied even after a refresh. The raw html does display. I asked him to display the CSS that is hosted on amazon S3 hcopeoressources.s3.amazonaws.com/style/futurvert/style.css and it displays fine. The code validates on W3C validator so does the CSS. I am lost what could be the origin of the issue. Could it be its enterprise cache? configuration of IE7 on his machine? If it happens to someone else who could explain the issue to me, I am all hears. Thanks

• jQuery UI .widgets resetting scroll positions of elements contained within

  I am making heavy use of jQuery UI with my latest project. Unfortunately I've hit a major wall due to some really whacky behavior exhibited by the jQuery UI widgets when they contain elements with scrollbars for overflow. Check out this demo Scroll down in one of the .scroll-container elements Click an accordion header Click on old header - note the element was auto-scrolled to the top. Is there anyway to prevent this from happening? It's screwing with a major plugin of mine that utilizes jQuery scrolling. I'm flat-out lost as to what to do here! Perhaps this is a bug worth mentioning in the jQuery UI dev forums... EDIT I am using Chrome - 8.0.552.231 and OSX 10.6.5

• After getting the 'It worked!' page with Djangoappengine, what do I do next?

  I followed the Djangoappengine instructions. I used their django-testapp and copied the following folders in the django-testapp folder according to what I understood the instructions to say: django djangoappengine djangotoolbox I then started the dev server by running: manage.py runserver Then navigated to http://localhost:8000/ and got the "It worked!" page, which is great, but it says the following at the bottom: You're seeing this message because you have DEBUG = True in your Django settings file and you haven't configured any URLs. Get to work! I am an absolute beginner with Django and App Engine and Djangoappengine and Django-nonrel, so I am pretty lost. How do I configure URLs? Or a link to the how to will help. I took a look at the Django tutorial, but am unsure how much of it is relevant to Djangoappengine and Django-nonrel as a lot of the starting steps have to do with SQL databases. Basically some direction on how to get my app running will be great. Thanx much.

• TextBox loses text when InvokeRequired == false

  This is modified code I found on this site. When appending text to a TextBox and InvoveRequired is false the text will display in the box but the next time the function is called and InvokeRequired is true the text string placed by the first call is lost (""). Multiple calls when InvokeRequired is true work as expected. comBox is a type TextBox with multline = true. • How to initiate an uninstall of a ClickOnce app, from within the app?

  Can I reliably initiate the un-installation of a ClickOnce app, from within the app? In other words, I want to give the user a big "Uninstall Me Now" button on one of the forms. When a user clicks the button, I want to start the windows uninstall process for this app, and perhaps close the app. Reason: We are dead-ending a ClickOnce app and want to make it as easy to remove as it was to install. We don't want to send them down the path to "Add or Remove Programs" and risk them getting lost or distracted. Can this be done reliably?

• What jquery based table plugin can hide sub rows?

  I'm in the need to convert excel macros into jquery code, the function is that you need to click on the plus sign to unfold and show the sub rows to modify column2 if you want to type values in column2, the other columns can't be modified. You can't straightly modify values of column2 until you unfold the parent row, because there are many sub rows belonging to parent row,say Car. The values of Name, Model, Code are existing, they are master data, no need to type or modify. please see the snapshot at folded and unfolded, besides modifying values in sub rows , I need to be able to know which sub rows are modified and values of those rows.Initially the editable columns are blank. And when you click on the minus sign, the sub rows can be folded again,but the modified values won't be lost,they are still there when unfolded again. One last requirement is it's cross devices, the code must run well on pc,mobile phone,pad. Is that possible? Many thanks.

• Capistrano SSH::AuthenticationFailed, not prompting for password

  I've been using capistrano successfully for a while now and all of a sudden in every project I've lost the ability to deploy. Environment: os X (Mavericks) ruby 1.9.3p194 rvm (locally, not on server) rails 3.2 and up RubyGems 1.8.25 I'm not using rsa_keys or anything I want capistrano to prompt for user and password. Suddenly it has decided not to ask for a password, but does ask for user. Then it rolls back and gives me the following error. [deploy:update_code] exception while rolling back: Capistrano::ConnectionError, connection failed for: sub.example.com (Net::SSH::AuthenticationFailed: Authentication failed for user [email protected]) connection failed for: sub.example.com (Net::SSH::AuthenticationFailed: Authentication failed for user [email protected]) This has occurred on my personal laptop and my iMac at work. It occurs when deploying to two different servers (both linux) I'm completely at a loss here. Any ideas?

  Under Vista, when in Basic theme, after calling IUIFramework::Destroy() the Vista theme is lost, and enlarging the window does not display outside of the initial area. You can repro it easily with the SimpleRibbon SDK sample. In simpleribbon.cpp, insert in the WndProc switch block: case WM_KEYUP: DestroyFramework(); InvalidateRect(hWnd, NULL, TRUE); break; Compile, run, hit a key and try to enlarge in Vista Basic Theme (no problem in Win7 or Vista aero or Windows classic). • Replacing elements within a string in R

  Hi, I have a row in a data frame in R that is made up of sequences of undetermined length of 0s 1s and 2s as characters. So "01", "010", "201", "102", "00012"... things like this. I'd like to find a way to determine if the last character in the string is NUMERICALLY the largest. It's important that I keep the row in the data frame as characters for other purposes. So basically I want to take substr(x, nchar(x), nchar(x)) and determine if it, as a number, is the largest of the numbers in the character string. I'm super lost as to how to do this, since I'm not all that familiar with regular expressions and I have to back and forth between treating elements as characters and numbers. • Does anyone have an updated version of the SQLite .NET assembly, ie. SQLite 3.6.23.1 + possibly .NET

  I'm at my wits end with the best .NET assembly version of SQLite, the one found at http://sqlite.phxsoftware.com. The only maintainer doesn't seem to have the time to update the library and it generally takes months, if not more, for newer versions to surface. Luckily, he has published the source code, so I'm hoping that someone else has made his/her own copy of it, and made the changes, and would be willing to share a copy. I've seen comments on the forums for the library to this effect, but sadly even the forum software seems to be grinding to a halt these days as password reminder emails seems to be lost to the big void, so I can't ask the few there that has said they have done it. So I'm here, hopefully the big userbase of StackOverflow can help. What I'm looking for: Updated with the latest changes to SQLite, ie. SQLite version 3.6.23.1 Possibly built for .NET 4.0 (I can do that if I can get a copy of working source) Does anyone have, or know of anyone, that has done this?

• Prototype problem with replace

  Hi, in my html page, I have the following: <div id="rub"> Select at least one Rub </div> In the script code, I have if ( some condition ... ) $('rub').replace("Rubs selected:"); Which works fine, but when a second event is triggered, in the code I have if ( some other condition ... ) $('rub').replace("Selected at least one item:"); That gives the error $("rub") is null It's as if the rub reference was lost after the first replace. (Also tried with Element.replace with the same result) Any clues ? Thanks in advance.

  Im sorry if I havent done my research properly, - but couldnt find the answer I needed, so here goes: From my main page I open a new window using mainPlayer = window.open(); This window stays open until user clicks on a mainPlayer.close(); event. (or simply x closes the window) However, the idea is to make it possible to let the player keep playing, while browsing around the rest of the pages. But as soon as the user leaves the page that opened the mainPlayer window, the reference to the mainPlayer window seem to be lost. How do I, from the site's other pages, check if the mainPlayer window is open and close it on a click event? Thx John

  PHP has many built-in functions to validate numbers but they all expect input in computer format: 1234.56. I need to validate stuff like 1,234.56 (English) or 1.234,56 (Spanish), together with some typical attributes (accepted range, max number of decimals, etc.). I started writing my own function but I soon got lost. It's easy to read the user input into a float variable but I want to be able to detect numbers with invalid formats like 1,23456.7 or 1..25. Do you have any recommendation on the subject? (Decimal and thousand characters are known beforehand and it's okay to hard-code digit groups as three, there's no need to cover Indian number format.)

  Hello, I've downloaded source of an opensource C++ project. It is a Linux project. As Visual Studio is my favorite IDE I want to use it to browse & study the code. I created an empty C++ project and now want to add the source code to Solution explorer. How can I add the directory structure to "Solution Explorer". Dropping the root folder of source code on the project in solution explorer is not working. Its just adding the files to the project but directory structure is lost. Is there any way to preserve the directory structure? I do not want to recreate the directory structure manually.

• Confusion with cookie session token and oauth2.0 don't know where to go anymore

  Hi guys, I'm completely confused, frustrated and nothing seems to make sense and work any more. I' dev some iframe fb app and i've been using the javascript sdk (FB.Init()) to get the access_token, but doesn't always work, sometimes i'm already logged into FB and doesn't works... Did some reading, and read also that there is problems using cookies in iframes in Opera and IE, so I was thinking in use the OAuth 2.0 but i'm not sure how via facebook sdk c# and now I'm now completely lost, don't know if i still need to use the javascript FB.Init(). Documentation out there is poor and unclear, a lot of stuff refers to old code, and after hours of reading, jumping on examples, i'm completely messed up and confused.   We are planning to start a fairly complex web-portal which is expected to attract good local traffic and I've been told by my boss to consider/analyse node.js for the serve side. I think scalability and multi-core support can be handled with an Nginx or Cherokee up in the front. 1) Is this node.js ready for some serious/big business? 2) Does this 'event/asynchronous' paradigm on server side has the potential to support the heavy traffic and data operation ? considering the fact that 'everything' is being processed in a single thread and all the live connections would be lost if it got crashed (though its easy to restart). 3) What are the advantages of event based programming compared to thread based style ? or vice-versa. (I know of higher cost associated with thread switching but hardware can be squeezed with event model.) • two classes contain objects of each other

  hi, i hope there's a simple answer to this. without getting too complicated i have two classes. an "Animal" and a "Cell" Cell contains an Animal as a member. Animal has methods that accept Cells in their parameters. i'm just confused as to how i #include each class the others header? i've only ever had to go up a chain of classes and just included the last class header in the next and so on, but this circular situation has me a bit lost. i hope that makes sense, any help greatly appreciated.

• retrieve Scrollbar position with javascript

  I know how to do this in flash, but completely lost about regular html. I'm trying to detect the position of the browser scrollbar with Javascript to decide where abouts in the page the current view is. My guess is that I'd have to detect where the thumb on the track is, and then the height of the thumb as a percentage of the total height of the track. Am I over-complicating it, or does Javascript offer an easier solution than that? Any ideas code-wise. Thanks.

  Hi I need to integrate google checkout on my website. I have successfully implemented the order placing and others stuff and using the sandbox I have tested that users can successfully add items to cart and and pay thereafter. I am using my own customized shopping cart written in php mysql. The last thing I need to do is pass the new order id to google checkout and receive notifications with the new order id as well as other data google sends. I know I have to setup a path to the handler script in my accounts. I did it in my sandbox account as well. But can't find a simple pice of code to get it done. Even if I use sample code from google, just cant figure out the format of the returned data in new order notification and also how to send custom data to the cart, which would come back with new order notifications? I am just lost on this. Please help!

I guess It is not effi?iently for such tasks. I need something that can auto-generate a code for load and save my program settings using predefined xml-schema. I found a dataset in Add New Item dialog. Unfortunately, i cannot add new code to dataset1 such as events in set-accessors of properties because of this // Changes to this file may cause incorrect behavior and will be lost if // the code is regenerated.   I've implemented a masstransit saga that works as should, a lot of times. However, there are times when the messages go to the error queue or just seem to disappear. I'd like to know: 1. How do I get the reason/exception message that causes a message to go to the error queue?   I struggle with finding a good medium on communication. In our jobs, it seems like it's very easy to get lost in code and lose track of time. It also seems kind of ridiculous to send out updates for every tiny task. Even though I am working very hard on getting things done, in a company that has very active communication between other branches, it tends to look bad for me when I'm not constantly updating my status. However, if I'm working on a 3-4 hour project, I'm not going to update management for every single line of code that I output. Broad I know, depends on the people, company, etc, but what would be a good general rule of thumb for effective communication?

• MS Access caching of reports / query results

  Is it possible to cache a query or report the first time it is run? It seems that opening a report will re-query the datasource. For certain queries, the data source does not change frequently enough that I'd be worried about a cache being out of date (users are notified when the database changes), and it would be much easier for the users to be able to open the report instantly rather than having to wait several minutes every time they want to see the data (though I realize if they close the file the caches will be lost - that's OK). Data comes from an ODBC connection to Oracle, using Access 2003.
