  • Looping through covariates in regression using R

    I'm trying to run 96 regressions and save the results as 96 different objects. To complicate things, I want the subscript on one of the covariates in the model to also change 96 times. I've almost solved the problem but I've unfortunately hit a wall. The code so far is, for(i in 1:96){ assign(paste("z.out", i,sep=""), lm(rMonExp_EGM~ TE_i+ Month2+Month3+Month4+Month5+Month6+Month7+Month8+Month9+ Month10+Month11+Month12+Yrs_minus_2004 + as.factor(LGA),data=Pokies)) } This works on the object creation side (e.g. I have z.out1 - z.out96) but I can't seem to get the subscript on the covariate to change as well. I have 96 variables called TE_1, TE_2 ... TE_96 in the dataset. As such, the subscript on TE_, the "i" needs to change to correspond to each of the objects I create. That is, z.out1 should hold the results from this model: z.out1 <- lm(rMonExp_EGM~ TE_1 + Month2+Month3+Month4+Month5+Month6+Month7+Month8+Month9+ Month10+Month11+Month12+Yrs_minus_2004 + as.factor(LGA),data=Pokies) And z.out96 should be: z.out96 <- lm(rMonExp_EGM~ TE_96+ Month2+Month3+Month4+Month5+Month6+Month7+Month8+Month9+ Month10+Month11+Month12+Yrs_minus_2004 + as.factor(LGA),data=Pokies) Hopefully this makes sense.   • How to avoid Modal Storyboard infinite loop

    I've written a number of iOS applications a year ago on an old version of Xcode. I've just started a new project and discovered the storyboard feature in the latest Xcode. It turns out this is perfect for the application I am writing as it consists of ~30 interlinked screens. My question is, how do I structure my storyboard and segues to allow my application to follow a circular path through my screens. I have seen a number of examples that simply segue screen 1 to screen 2 and then screen 2 to screen 1 using the modal option. This clearly works but when I debug an application built this way, it instantiates a new instance of each screen (view controller) for every segue performed. In the diagram below (apologies, I drew a nice picture but due to my newbie status, was not able to post it), how do I go from screen 1 to screen 2 to screen 3 and back to original screen 1 without creating a new instance? // Screen 1 --> Screen 2 --> Screen3 // ^ | // | | // +-------------------------+

  • Selenium navigation inside foreach loop

    I am having an issue with navigation. I get a list of rows from an html table. I iterate over the rows and scrape information from them. But there is also a link on the row that I click to go to more information related to the row to scrape. Then I navigate back to the page with the original table. This works for the first row, but for the subsequent rows, it throws an exception. I look at my row collection after the first time the link inside a row is clicked, and none of them have the correct values like they did before I clicked the link. I believe that there is something going on when I navigate to a different URL that I'm not getting. My code is below.   • NServiceBus - Message Sent to and Removed from Queue, but Never Fire IHandleMessages.Handle

    First let me state, today is my first day using NSesrviceBus - so I hope my question isn't too elementary. I have managed to set up Sender, Receiver, and Messages projects. When I debug the Sender, I see the messages show up in the configured queue. When I debug the Receiver, the messages are removed from the queue. However, my IHandleMessages Handle event never fires, and no Console output is displayed. I'm sure I've done something wrong (I think I may have mixed tutorials from different versions of NServiceBus) - any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Combining the value of GetLastError and a custom error message

    I have a function that returns a different DWORD value for each case there is an error. So I have the following defines: #define ERR_NO_DB_CONNECTION 0x90000 #define ERR_DB_NOT_OPEN 0x90001 #define ERR_DB_LOCKED 0x90002 #define ERR_DB_CONN_LOST 0x90003 Now, I return those values when an error occurs. I need to also return the value of GetLastError in the same return. No, I can't read it later. I tried combining it different ways, eg: return ERR_DB_NOT_OPEN + GetLastError(); and then extract the error by subtracting the value of ERR_DB_NOT_OPEN but since I need to use this in functions where there can be several return values it can get quite complex to do that. Is there any way to achieve this? I mean, combine the value + GetLastError and extract them later? Code is appreciated. Thanks Jess.

  • How to debug iPhone project crash when there is no error message

    Hi, I am doing this iPhone app that works fine on the simulator. However, when I run it on a device in debug mode, it just crash without any error messages. How can I debug that? I heard about a flag we can set to help with this kind of situation but not sure what that flag is and how to set it.   • Java Thread Message Passing

    I'm writing an Android app. I have a main method, which creates and runs a new Thread using an anonymous inner Runnable class. The run() method, when it's done, calls a method on it's parent class (in the main thread) that calls notifyDataSetChanged() so that the main thread can redraw the new data. This is causing all kinds of trouble (ViewRoot$CalledFromWrongThreadException). The thing is, this method being called from the worker thread is on the class that's created in the UI thread. Shouldn't that be running on the UI thread? Or am I missing something? I want to explode $rows into a 2D array $rowData where each row is an array element and each tab-delimited value is assigned to a different array element. I've tried these two methods without success. I know the first one has a coding error but I do not know how to correct it.   • Java for loop with multiple incrementers

    Im writing a program which combines the RGB pixel values for 3 images, e.g. red pixel of image 1, green pixel of image 2 and blue pixel of image 3 and I want to then create a final image of it. Im using the code below, but this seems to be incrementing x2 and x3 whilst x1 is the same, i.e. not giving the right pixel value for same co-ordinate for each image. for (int x = 0; x < image.getWidth(); x++) { for (int x2 = 0; x2 < image2.getWidth(); x2++) { for (int x3 = 0; x3 < image3.getWidth(); x3++) { for (int y = 0; y < image.getHeight(); y++) { for (int y2 = 0; y2 < image2.getHeight(); y2++) { for (int y3 = 0; y3 < image3.getHeight(); y3++) { So I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to iterate through each of the 3 images on the same co-ordinate, so for example read 1, 1 of each image and record the red, green and blue value accordingly. Apologies if it doesnt make complete sense, its a bit hard to explain. I can iterate the values for one image fine but when I add in another, things start to go a bit wrong as obviously its quite a bit more complicated! I was thinking it might be easier to create an array and replace the according values in that just not sure how to do that effectively either. Thanks
