• Django + dbxml + Apache = problems. Any solutions?

  I'm trying to set up a Django application using WSGI. That works fine. However, I am having some issues with part of my Django app that uses BDB XML. • Grabbing the right record in a drop down from mysql

  I'm using a form where the user can edit an entry. Recreation of connection pool gave nothing, connection pool ping gave next message: Ping Connection Pool for pool is Failed. Ping failed Exce ption - Connection could not be allocated because: Communications lin k failure%%%EOL%%%%%%EOL%%%The last packet sent successfully to the s erver was 0 milliseconds ago. The driver has not received any packets from the server. • Setting up a multi-site CMS, collecting thoughts about the DB schema

  Hello all, I'm collecting some thoughts about creating a multisite CMS. In my opinion there are two major approaches. All data is stored into 1 database, giving me the advantage of single point of updates; Seperated databases, so each client has its own database. Giving me the advantage to measure bandwith. Option 1 gives me the disadvantage of measuring bandwith while option is giving me the disadvantage of a single point of update structure. Are there any generic approaches for creating a sort of update system? So my clients can download a small package (maybe a zip with a conf file to tell the updatescript where to put all the files and how to extend the database??) Do you guys have some thougths about the best solution for a situation like this? I have my own webserver, full access to all resources and I'm developing in PHP with MySQL as DBMS.   Hey Stackoverflow, yeah it's spring and a lot of things happens to me... Also changing some software things at my computer, because suddenly everything seems to be boring after starting my laptop. I even changed my wallpaper!!! Besides I'm looking for a new database frontend and after using google with serveral queries I didn't find the right software. You have to know, my laptop and me are very very special :) I'm looking for a database frontend which should have following features can access PostgreSQL and MySQL databases can handle schemata overs a nice sql query tool supports an import and export functionality (something like tab separated text files) it for free looks awesome - every time when a college come to my office he must get the feeling: oh boy, this man really knows his job and should get more money! At the moment I used phpmyadmin, phppgadmin, pgadminIII, mysqladmin and dbVisualizer. Furthermore I was a big fan of the aqua datastudio until it became commercial. This tools offers a great variety of functionalities which can simplify programmes live. However, now you have to buy a license...I'm a scientist and money for software is limited =) So it's my first time (question) here at stackoverflow please be cheerful :)

  I postet this question a few days ago but I didn't explain exactly what I want. I ask the question better formulated again: To clarify my problem I added some new information: I got an MySQL DB with MyISAM tables. The two relevant tables are: * orders_products: orders_products_id, orders_id, product_id, product_name, product_price, product_name, product_model, final_price, ... * products: products_id, manufacturers_id, ... (for full information about the tables see screenshot products (Screenshot) and screenshot orders_products (Screenshot)) Now what I want is this: - Get all Orders who ordered products with manufacturers_id = 1. And the product name of the product of this order (with manufacturers_id = 1). Grouped by orders. What I did so far is this: SELECT op.orders_id, p.products_id, op.products_name, op.products_price, op.products_quantity FROM orders_products op , products p INNER JOIN products ON op.products_id = p.products_id WHERE p.manufacturers_id = 1 AND p.orders_id > 10000 p.orders_id 10000 for testing to get only a few order_id's. But thies query takes much time to get executed if it even works. Two times the sql server stucked. Where is the mistake?

• Need help INSERT record(s) MySQL DB

  I have an online form which collects member(s) information and stores it into a very long MySQL database. We allow up to 16 members to enroll at a single time and originally structured the DB to allow such. For example: If 1 Member enrolls, his personal information (first name, last name, address, phone, email) are stored on a single row. If 15 Members enroll (all at once), their personal information are stored in the same single row. The row has information housing columns for all 'possible' inputs. I am trying to consolidate this code and having every nth member that enrolls put onto a new record within the database. I have seen sugestions before for inserting multiple records as such: INSERT INTO tablename VALUES (('$f1name', '$f1address', '$f1phone'), ('$f2name', '$f2address', '$f2phone')... The issue with this is two fold: I do not know how many records are being enrolled from person to person so the only way to make the statement above is to use a loop The information collected from the forms is NOT a single array so I can't loop through one array and have it parse out. My information is collected as individual input fields like such: Member1FirstName, Member1LastName, Member1Phone, Member2Firstname, Member2LastName, Member2Phone... and so on Is it possible to store information in separate rows WITHOUT using a loop (and therefore having to go back and completely restructure my form field names and such (which can't happen due to the way the validation rules are built.)

  I am trying to do this in one query. I asked a similar question a few days ago but my personal requirements have changed. I have a game type website where users can attend "classes". There are three tables in my DB. I am using MySQL. I have four tables: hl_classes (int id, int professor, varchar class, text description) hl_classes_lessons (int id, int class_id, varchar lessonTitle, varchar lexiconLink, text lessonData) hl_classes_answers (int id, int lesson_id, int student, text submit_answer, int percent) hl_classes stores all of the classes on the website. The lessons are the individual lessons for each class. A class can have infinite lessons. Each lesson is available in a specific term. hl_classes_terms stores a list of all the terms and the current term has the field active = '1'. When a user submits their answers to a lesson it is stored in hl_classes_answers. A user can only answer each lesson once. Lessons have to be answered sequentially. All users attend all "classes". What I am trying to do is grab the next lesson for each user to do in each class. When the users start they are in term 1. When they complete all 10 lessons in each class they move on to term 2. When they finish lesson 20 for each class they move on to term 3. Let's say we know the term the user is in by the PHP variable $term. So this is my query I am currently trying to massage out but it doesn't work. Specifically because of the hC.id is unknown in the WHERE clause SELECT hC.id, hC.class, (SELECT MIN(output.id) as nextLessonID FROM ( SELECT id, class_id FROM hl_classes_lessons hL WHERE hL.class_id = hC.id ORDER BY hL.id LIMIT $term,10 ) as output WHERE output.id NOT IN (SELECT lesson_id FROM hl_classes_answers WHERE student = $USER_ID)) as nextLessonID FROM hl_classes hC My logic behind this query is first to For each class; select all of the lessons in the term the current user is in. From this sort out the lessons the user has already done and grab the MINIMUM id of the lessons yet to be done. This will be the lesson the user has to do.
