  Hello, I have the html-content in some python-variable. Is it possible to use DOM for it? As I understand, libxml2dom is the tool for this. And about question. In my html there is div with id = 'some_needed_block'. • Circular reference fix?

  Hi! I have a Player class in a separate unit as follows: TPlayer = class private ... FWorld: TWorld; ... public ... end; I also have a World class in a separate unit as follows: TWorld = class private ... FPlayer: TPlayer; ... public ... end; I have done it this way so that the Player can get data from the world via FWorld, and so that the other objects in the world can get the player data in a similar manner. As you can see this results in a circular reference (and therefore does not work). I have read that this implies bad code design, but I just can't think of any better other way. What could be a better way to do it? Cheers!

  If you wrap a call to HttpResponse.End within a try catch block, the ThreadAbortException would automatically be re-raised. I assume this is the case even if you wrap the try catch block in a try catch block. How can I accomplish the same thing?   I'm making a level editor for a game using windows forms. The form has several drop down menus, text boxes, etc, where the user can type information. I want to make commands like CTRL + V or CTRL + A available for working within the game world itself, not text manipulation. The game world is represented by a PictureBox contained in a Panel. This event handler isn't ever firing: private System.Windows.Forms.Panel canvas; // ... this.canvas = new System.Windows.Forms.Panel(); // ... this.canvas.PreviewKeyDown += new System.Windows.Forms.PreviewKeyDownEventHandler(this.canvas_PreviewKeyDown); What is the preferred way of doing this? Can a panel even receive keyboard input? I would like to allow the user to use copy/paste/select-all commands when working with the text input, but not when placing objects in the game world.

  I'm constructing a program which uses mprotect() to restrict a block of memory from accessing. When the memory is requested, a SIGSEGV is thrown which I listen for using a signal() call. Once the SIGSEGV has been detected, I need to somehow access the pointer to the memory that was requested (that threw the fault) and the size of the segment requested.   I want to store website page hierarchy in a table. What I would like to achieve is efficiently 1) resolve (last valid) item by path (e.g. "/blogs/programming/tags/asp.net,sql-server", "/blogs/programming/hello-world" ) 2) get ancestor items for breadcrump 3) edit an item without updating the whole tree of children, grand children etc. Because of the 3rd point I thought the table could be like ITEM id type slug title parentId 1 area blogs Blogs 2 blog programming Programming blog 1 3 tagsearch tags 2 4 post hello-world Hello World! 2 Could I use Sql Server's hierarchyid type somehow (especially point 1, "/blogs/programming/tags" is the last valid item)? Tree depth would usually be around 3-4. What would be the best way to achieve all this?

• Is Lazy Loading required for nHibernate?

  It took me a long time but I finally got nHibernate's Hello World to work. It worked after I did "lazy loading." Honestly, I couldn't tell you why it all worked, but it did and now I am reading you don't need lazy loading. Is there a hello world that anyone has that is bare bones making nHibernate work? Do you have to have lazy loading? I ask because I would like to use nHibernate but I need to understand how things are working. Thank you. Do you know of a hello world that doesn't have so much overhead? Is it better to use lazy loading? EDIT: I am using asp.net 3.5. Web Application Project.

• When getting substring in .Net, does the new string reference the same original string data or does

  Assuming I have the following strings: string str1 = "Hello World!"; string str2 = str1.SubString(6, 5); // "World" I am hoping that in the above example str2 does not copy "World", but simply ends up being a new string that points to the same memory space only that it starts with an offset of 6 and a length of 5. In actuality I am dealing with some potentially very long strings and am interested in how this works behind the scenes for performance reasons. I am not familiar enaugh with IL to look into this.

• Ways to call Blocks within Magento: createBlock vs Layout xml file

  Context: I'm trying to include Adminhtml blocks in the frontend of the site to replace some of the user account blocks. The first thing I'm trying to do is simply display the block on the correct page. I can replace the entire page by setting the Body of the response inside the controller, but I'm having a hard time including the block in the layout xml file and then calling it within the template. Why would I be able to create an adminhtml/sales_order_grid from Mage_Sales_OrderController using createBlock: $this->getResponse()->setBody($this->getLayout()->createBlock('adminhtml/sales_order_grid')->toHtml()); But not from a frontend layout, using a declaration <block type="adminhtml/sales_order_grid" name="orders_widget"/> within app/design/frontend/default/default/layout/sales.xml The latter produces an error without a stack trace: Fatal error: Call to a member function toHtml() on a non-object in app/code/core/Mage/Core/Model/Layout.php on line 526 Thanks for any guidance!

  I was playing with Infogrid on my site. I added a header, a footer and added some text on the last block of iron man. As you can see the footer doesn't show up and the text of the last block is cut off. Now if you remove overflow:hidden; on the body, html the footer shows up but the text is still cut off. Any idea on how this the footer could show up without the scrollbar (so overflow:hidden; has to stay) and how to get the text of the last block to show up entirely?   I'm trying to display my code on a website but I'm having problems preserving the whitespace indentation correctly. For instance given the following snippet: <html> <body> Here is my code: <pre> def some_funtion return 'Hello, World!' end </pre> <body> </html> This is displayed in the browser as: Here is my code: def some_funtion return 'Hello, World!' end When I would like it displayed as: Here is my code: def some_funtion return 'Hello, World!' end The difference is that that current indentation level of the HTML pre tag is being added to the indentation of the code. I'm using nanoc as a static website generator and I'm using google prettify to also add syntax highlighting. Can anyone offer any suggestions?
