  • Author in wiki, generate PDF documents, CHM files or embedded help

    - by Dilum Ranatunga
Anyone know of a wiki or wiki plugin that generates a PDF file or CHM file that spans the entire wiki? I would like to have control of the table of contents. I would like the internal and external links to work. Ideally allow for tweaking the output template, but that is not a deal-breaker. I want to generate content using WIKI syntax and mindset (lots of cross-links etc), but ship the content in PDF, CHM or an embedded application form. Something friendlier than installing the wiki software on the enduser machine...

  • Global find object references in NHibernate

    - by Miral
Is it possible to perform a global reversed-find on NHibernate-managed objects? Specifically, I have a persistent class called "Io". There are a huge number of fields across multiple tables which can potentially contain an object of that type. Is there a way (given a specific instance of an Io object), to retrieve a list of objects (of any type) that actually do reference that specific object? (Bonus points if it can identify which specific fields actually contain the reference, but that's not critical.) Since the NHibernate mappings define all the links (and the underlying database has corresponding foreign key links), there ought to be some way to do it.

  • Calling Facebook API without authenticating user/"connecting"

    - by Andy
Hi, I am working with facebook's API and I want to call the links.prevew method. http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/Links.preview Is it possible to call this method without having my user authenticate or "connect"? For example, not all of my users have hooked up their facebook accounts to my website, but I still want to use this API method. I am getting the following error: Fatal error: Uncaught Exception: 453: A session key is required for calling this method thrown in /public_html/libs/facebook.php on line 413 But on the wiki it says that the method does not require a session key? If it is not possible to make API calls without such a key, is there anyway I can make calls on behalf of my account or my applications account (rather then a users account)? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

  • DRUPAL probl [tid] field : in View how to link Taxonomy term to MY view (and not to taxonomy/term)

    - by davezen
SUMMARY : I have a view where I need to replace the term link "taxonomy/term" by my view link, because the view uses arguments to find content with terms how can I put in link argument the term which is display : [term_name1] link "display_view/term_name1", [term_name2] link "display_view/term_name2" I used [tid] field to put argument in link display_view/[tid] but it only display the first term, and not the real term (for example if multiple taggs it only display the first) and put all the terms in one single link : [term_name1 term_name2] link "display_view/term_name1" so why [tid] or [tid_1] don't run ? is there another field, or do I need php ? really need help ! :) DESCRIPTION : Hello, I made a view table to display store content it display : user name, title, taxonomy term to type (book, disc...), taxonomy term for taggs (subject of objects) for example : USER | TITLE | TERM TYPE (only one) | TERM SUBJECTS (taggs) user1 | James Brown disc | disc | soul jamesbrown user2 | rolls book | book | cars rolls travel so I display different types of terms and in subjects it can have a multiple because it's taggs I use arguments so it can have display for example only store from an user, or from an taxonomy (for examples only the disc, or the disc about soul) so I can link display_view/argtermtype/argtermsubject (I separate the type and subject) MY NEED : what i want is the terms of the view don't redirect on taxonomy/term but on my view so I have to : change the link of terms in view to redirect on display_texts/all/all replace [all] with the [term] argument MY PROBLEM : I can't have the right field of terms displayed in the links of terms in fields, I : checked "Output this field as a link" put the link "display_view/[tid]" for term type and "display_view/all/[tid]" for term subjects NOT checked "Link this field to its term page" what it does : [tid] put in link FOR ALL THE LINE the SAME TERM and it put all the terms in one single link ! that's to say, it creates the links : USER | TITLE | TERM TYPE (only one) | TERM SUBJECTS (taggs) user1 | James Brown disc| [disc] display_texts/disc (ok !) | [soul jamesbrown] (BAD only one link!) display_texts/all/disc (BAD it's not the new term !) what I need : USER | TITLE | TERM TYPE (only one) | TERM SUBJECTS (taggs) user1 | James Brown disc| [disc] display_texts/disc| [soul] display_texts/all/soul [jamesbrown] display_texts/all/jamesbrown) MY QUESTION : so how can I put in argument the term which is display ? I try things like [tid_1] but doesn't work is there any list of fields somewhere ? or do i have to use php code ? how to separate link terms ? if I check "Link this field to its term page" links are separate but it replace my link by "taxonomy/term" link think's in advance for any idea !

  • Web Application within a Web Site in Visual Studio?

    - by Sean
Visual Studio allows you to make "Web Sites" and "Web Applications", but, inside a project, can you have one within the other? Say I have my website "www.mysite.com" and I have an application called "BudgetCalculator". One the production server, this is supposed to be located at: www.mysite.com/BudgetCalculator And the BudgetCalculator app contains links back to other parts of the website, like "/page1" and "/page2". However in Visual Studio, when they're listed as two different projects, they're on the same level. When I fire up the debugger for the BudgetCalculator app, those links aren't going to point back to the main website, like they should. Is there a way around this?

  • What's the best way to deal with limitations in Google AJAX Language API?

    - by allyourcode
I'm mostly interested in translation, but I'm sure someone else is looking for info on the other features of the language API (namely transliteration and virtual keyboard). I see alot of pages on the web about the limitations of the Language API, but I don't see anything about this in the official docs. Links to where this is described in the official docs would be greatly appreciated. Also, I'm guessing that the best solution will involve breaking up longer texts and translating each piece. Does this violate Google's term's of use? Doesn't this defeat the purpose of having a limit in the first place? Again, links to official documentation would be great.

  • asp:Menu Not working on webhost

    - by Brian
I'm using Visual Studio Web Express 2008 to develop an ASP.Net website. I have a master page that every page inherits from and on that master page I have the asp:menu control. On my local machine the menu control works just fine. The javascript is emitted and the links work as well. However, when I upload it to my webhost service provider, the javascript is not emitted and my links do not work. I'm getting a feeling that my service provider really doesn't know much about .Net as they suggested that I make sure that I upload the .js files which isn't necessary. Does anyone have any suggestions that I can give them? They're asking me what requirements are needed. It seems to me that something is not setup on their server properly but according to them, they have .Net 3.5 SP1 installed.

  • Rails app is prepending tunnlr web address when using link helpers

    - by mathee
I set up facebooker to tunnel my Ruby on Rails application. The issue is that I would like to test locally. That is, I don't want to have to start a tunnel every time I want to see my changes. Right now, when I start the application using ruby script/server (not calling rake facebooker:tunnel:background_start beforehand), links created by helpers (e.g., stylesheet_link_tag, javascript_include_tag, image_tag) are prepended with my tunnlr address: http://web1.tunnlr.com:myPort/. (For example, a CSS link looks like this in the page source: http://web1.tunnlr.com:myPort//stylesheets/appName.css?1234567890.) I don't want that functionality; I can't see my CSS or JavaScript changes without starting the tunnel first. I want the links to be relative to what's running on my machine, not the tunnel. So, stylesheet_link_tag should produce /stylesheets/appName.css?1234567890. Does anyone know why it's doing that in the first place and how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

  • Link phpbb usernames to drupal profiles

    - by Toxid
I'm using drupal and phpbb with a bridge called phpbbforum. It works quite well, the user information is synched between the drupal and phpbb databases. The forum is embeded in a drupal page, so all variables that come with page.tpl.php should be avaliable. I want drupal to be the only profile handler, so when someone clicks on a phpbb username, that person get's linked to the drupal profile. In phpbbs template files, the link to the profile is called by function get_username_string. I think the right place to edit it is in the /includes/functions_content.php file on line 1178. Right above that line it says "* Get username details for placing into templates." and there's a section about profile links. I just can't figure out how to edit it so that the profile links lead to drupal profiles. Can anyone figure this one out?

  • I need to know what link is clicked, how do i get these variables with cherrypy?

    - by user291071
Lets say I display 3 links, I want to accomplish 2 things, know which link is clicked, and record this choice in a list/pickle or txt file but also capture this variable in cherrypy so I can perform another action. How do I do this? Its been suggested that I use a query string which makes sense but I can't get the querystring variable to cherrypy to use for further actions. So would anyone have a simple code of cherrypy with lets say 2 pages and have one page display 2 links with a querystring in each and the second page able to get that value?

  • My Header over External Content

    - by TrivaniJoanne
I can see this web site is somewhat over my head, but I'm having trouble finding an answer. I want to put my header, with links to other pages, over external content. Here's why: My MLM gives me a replicated web site that they maintain. I want to add links to my blog, contact info, even meta tags to the site. I though I had it done by using an iframe. I have my content at the top, and the MLM site shows up in the iframe. (here is the link www.trivanijoanne.com) The problem is that the iframe doesn't resize when the external content changes, and it is confusing for the user to need to scroll up to see the page. Also, the pdf pages don't load inside the iframe. I looked around online and see that iframes are a thing of the past. What should I be using to accomplish this task?

  • Sorting/Paginating/Filtering Complex Multi-AR Object Tables in Rails

    - by Matt Rogish
I have a complex table pulled from a multi-ActiveRecord object array. This listing is a combined display of all of a particular user's "favorite" items (songs, messages, blog postings, whatever). Each of these items is a full-fledged AR object. My goal is to present the user with a simplified search, sort, and pagination interface. The user need not know that the Song has a singer, and that the Message has an author -- to the end user both entries in the table will be displayed as "User". Thus, the search box will simply be a dropdown list asking them which to search on (User name, created at, etc.). Internally, I would need to convert that to the appropriate object search, combine the results, and display. I can, separately, do pagination (mislav will_paginate), sorting, and filtering, but together I'm having some problems combining them. For example, if I paginate the combined list of items, the pagination plugin handles it just fine. It is not efficient since the pagination is happening in the app vs. the DB, but let's assume the intended use-case would indicate the vast majority of the users will have less than 30 favorited items and all other behavior, server capabilities, etc. indicates this will not be a bottleneck. However, if I wish to sort the list I cannot sort it via the pagination plugin because it relies on the assumption that the result set is derived from a single SQL query, and also that the field name is consistent throughout. Thus, I must sort the merged array via ruby, e.g. @items.sort_by{ |i| i.whatever } But, since the items do not share common names, I must first interrogate the object and then call the correct sort by. For example, if the user wishes to sort by user name, if the sorted object is a message, I sort by author but if the object is a song, I sort by singer. This is all very gross and feels quite un-ruby-like. This same problem comes into play with the filter. If the user filters on the "parent item" (the message's thread, the song's album), I must translate that to the appropriate collection object method. Also gross. This is not the exact set-up but is close enough. Note that this is a legacy app so changing it is quite difficult, although not impossible. Also, yes there is some DRY that can be done, but don't focus on the style or elegance of the following code. Style/elegance of the SOLUTION is important, however! :D models: class User < ActiveRecord::Base ... has_and_belongs_to_many :favorite_messages, :class_name => "Message" has_and_belongs_to_many :favorite_songs, :class_name => "Song" has_many :authored_messages, :class_name => "Message" has_many :sung_songs, :class_name => "Song" end class Message < ActiveRecord::Base has_and_belongs_to_many :favorite_messages belongs_to :author, :class_name => "User" belongs_to :thread end class Song < ActiveRecord::Base has_and_belongs_to_many :favorite_songs belongs_to :singer, :class_name => "User" belongs_to :album end controller: def show u = User.find 123 @items = Array.new @items << u.favorite_messages @items << u.favorite_songs # etc. etc. @items.flatten! @items = @items.sort_by{ |i| i.created_at } @items = @items.paginate :page => params[:page], :per_page => 20 end def search # Assume user is searching for username like 'Bob' u = User.find 123 @items = Array.new @items << u.favorite_messages.find( :all, :conditions => "LOWER( author ) LIKE LOWER('%bob%')" ) @items << u.favorite_songs.find( :all, :conditions => "LOWER( singer ) LIKE ... " ) # etc. etc. @items.flatten! @items = @items.sort_by{ |i| determine appropriate sorting based on user selection } @items = @items.paginate :page => params[:page], :per_page => 20 end view: #index.html.erb ... <table> <tr> <th>Title (sort ASC/DESC links)</th> <th>Created By (sort ASC/DESC links))</th> <th>Collection Title (sort ASC/DESC links)</th> <th>Created At (sort ASC/DESC links)</th> </tr> <% @items.each |item| do %> <%= render { :partial => "message", :locals => item } if item.is_a? Message %> <%= render { :partial => "song", :locals => item } if item.is_a? Song %> <%end%> ... </table> #message.html.erb # shorthand, not real ruby print out message title, author name, thread title, message created at #song.html.erb # shorthand print out song title, singer name, album title, song created at

  • How do I use theme preprocessor functions for my own templates?

    - by Jergason
I have several .tpl.php files for nodes, CCK fields, and Views theming. These template files have a lot of logic in them to move things around, strip links, create new links, etc. I understand that this is bad development and not "The Drupal Way". If I understand correctly, "The Drupal Way" is to use preprocessor functions in your template.php file to manipulate variables and add new variables. A few questions about that: Is there a naming convention for creating a preprocessor function for a specific theme? For example, if I have a CCK field template called content-field-field_transmission_make_model.tpl, how would I name the preprocessor function? Can I use template preprocessor functions for node templates, CCK field templates, and Views templates? Do they have different methods of modifying template variables or adding new ones?

  • Exclude category from custom taxonomy output

    - by Nordin
    Hello, I'm using the query below to output all links from a custom taxonomy. It outputs all posts that are tagged 'http' from the taxonomy 'words'. I would like to exclude some general categories from the output. So, fe. it only outputs links in the media and news categories. What would be the best way to achieve this. $wp_query->request = " SELECT DISTINCT * FROM $wpdb->posts LEFT JOIN $wpdb->term_relationships ON($wpdb->posts.ID = $wpdb->term_relationships.object_id) LEFT JOIN $wpdb->term_taxonomy ON($wpdb->term_relationships.term_taxonomy_id = $wpdb->term_taxonomy.term_taxonomy_id) LEFT JOIN $wpdb->terms ON($wpdb->term_taxonomy.term_id = $wpdb->terms.term_id) WHERE $wpdb->posts.post_type = 'post' AND $wpdb->posts.post_status = 'publish' AND $wpdb->term_taxonomy.taxonomy = 'words' AND $wpdb->terms.slug = 'http' ORDER BY $wpdb->posts.post_date DESC LIMIT $ppp OFFSET $offset"; $pagelinkposts = $wpdb->get_results($wp_query->request, OBJECT);

  • Best way to Fingerprint and Verify html structure.

    - by Lukas Šalkauskas
Hello there, I just want to know what is your opinion about how to fingerprint/verify html/links structure. The problem I want to solve is: fingerprint for example 10 different sites, html pages. And after some time I want to have possibility to verify them, so is, if site has been changed, links changed, verification fails, othervise verification success. My base Idea is to analyze link structure by splitting it in some way, doing some kind of tree, and from that tree generate some kind of code. But I'm still in brainstorm stage, where I need to discuss this with someone, and know other ideas. So any ideas, algos, and suggestions would be usefull.

  • Generating Component SEF URLs in Joomla

    - by Jarrod
I have a custom Joomla component and a router for building my SEF URL's for use within the site, and everything is usually shiny - internally, all of my links look and act fantastic. I recently route a controller action that sends a list of links through email, and I've noticed that my URLs are coming out.... funky - hopefully someone can tell me why. Usually, my router generates an internal link that looks like this: http://localhost/Registry/calendar/265889635/Some-Long-Boring-Event However, when I send an email and preparing the same URL through the same router I get: http://localhost/Registry/Registry/component/calendar/569555803/Some-Long-Boring-Event Has anybody run into this issue before?

  • Ajax And REST: Can I send an ajax request to a REST service and recieve response?

    - by Morteza M.
Hi everybody here, I want to use mootools and SqueezBox class to handle a request to a RESTful service. I don't want to use any server-side script. I am using AJAX. I send a request to the following url using GET method. http://www.idevcenter.com/api/v1/links/links-upcoming.json but I receive a 404 error. Is it because cross-site scripting? here is my code: SqueezeBox.initialize({handler:'url',ajaxOptions:{method:'GET'}}); $('a.modal').addEvent('click',function(e){ new Event(e).stop(); SqueezeBox.fromElement($('a.modal')); }); In Firebug console, sometimes 'aborted' is shown and sometimes '404'.what is wrong with that?

  • Is it possible to dynamically add webcontrols via jQuery???

    - by Chris Conway
Currently I have a webform that has a series of links. What I'd like to be able to do is add a webcontrol's content when one of the links is clicked. Is this kind of thing even possible? If not, what's the best strategy for loading a set of controls (one textbox and one dropdown with values from one link, two textboxes and a checkbox from another link, etc.). I'd need to be able get the values of each of these controls on postback. Ideally, I'd like to be able to add that new content to an acordian control, most likely the jQuery UI acordian. So each clickable link would add new content to an acordian control. What's everybody's thoughts on this?

  • Is there a way to force HTTPS protocol in a Kohana 2.3 site?

    - by alex
I've got a site built on top of Kohana 2.3 which I now have to make all links https. I set this in application/config/config.php. $config['site_protocol'] = 'https'; This makes all links on the site use the https protocol. Except, when I first enter the site via http, it will not automatically forward to https. Is there a way to make Kohana do this, or do I just need to do some custom coding? I've found this .htaccess rule too, will it be fine to just drop this in? RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} !=443 RewriteRule ^ https://yourdomain.tld%{REQUEST_URI} [NS,R,L] Thanks.
