• VBA Tab Key putting actual Tab Value in Text Box instead of navigating to next control

  I have a VBA form (in Excel if that matters) that contains text boxes. On three occasions, I have found myself pressing the tab key to navigate to the next control, but instead an actual TAB is being put in the text box. The form normally acts as it should, but it does concern me that this gremlin is showing up sporadically. It has shown up on Office 2003 as well as Office 2007 on two different computers. Has anyone else encountered this problem and, if so, how did you fix it?

• Cocoa Key event problem

  I'm trying to build my first cocoa application. done some iPhone developing before. I have a hard time understanding how to layout my project. i making a Pong game and my current design is to allocate an NSWindowController from my appDelegate. I then use custom view to act as paddles and ball. My problem is that i can't get the window controller to capture key events. Am i thinking wrong here? My idea is to have a controller class with all the logic, should i subclass another class for that?

• Key word extraction in Python

  I'm building a website in django that needs to extract key words from short (twitter-like) messages. I've looked at packages like topia.textextract and nltk - but both seem to be overkill for what I need to do. All I need to do is filter words like "and", "or", "not" while keeping nouns and verbs that aren't conjunctives or other parts of speech. Are there any "simpler" packages out there that can do this? EDIT: This needs to be done in near real-time on a production website, so using a keyword extraction service seems out of the question, based on their response times and request throttling.

• Delete all records that have no foreign key constraints

  I have a SQL 2005 table with millions of rows in it that is being hit by users all day and night. This table is referenced by 20 or so other tables that have foreign key constraints. What I am needing to do on a regular basis is delete all records from this table where the "Active" field is set to false AND there are no other records in any of the child tables that reference the parent record. What is the most efficient way of doing this short of trying to delete each one at a time and letting it cause SQL errors on the ones that violate constraints? Also it is not an option to disable the constraints and I cannot cause locks on the parent table for any significant amount of time.

  I am trying to programmatically fire a key event to go left in a text box, but not having any luck. The input element has focus and the cursor is at the end. I'm trying to get the cursor to move left one step - before the letter "F".   I'm trying to use a class as a key in an NSDictionary. I looked at the answer to this question and what I have is pretty much the same; I'm using setObject: forKey:. However, XCode complains, saying Incompatible pointer types sending 'Class' to parameter of type 'id<NSCopying>'. The call I have is: [_bugTypeToSerializerDictionary setObject: bugToStringSerializer forKey: [bugToStringSerializer serializedObjectType]]; bugToStringSerializer is an instance of BugToStringSerializer whose concrete implementations implement serializedObjectType. • Application_End() cannot access cache through HttpContext.Current.Cache[key]

  I want to be able to maintain certain objects between application restarts. To do that, I want to write specific cached items out to disk in Global.asax Application_End() function and re-load them back on Application_Start(). I currently have a cache helper class, which uses the following method to return the cached value: return HttpContext.Current.Cache[key]; Problem: during Application_End(), HttpContext.Current is null since there is no web request (it's an automated cleanup procedure) - therefore, I cannot access .Cache[] to retrieve any of the items to save to disk. Question: how can I access the cache items during Application_End()?

• Using tab key to navigate google search results

  Google the phrase "Humans vs zombies" (just used for an example here, phrase doesn't matter). When you see the search results, put your fingers on the keyboard, and press tab until you get to the first result. It takes me over 10 tabs to get through the "images", "videos", "maps", "advanced search" and other links. (Do you get the same results?) How can I get it so pressing the tab key the first time takes me to the first link? I'm using FF 3.6. How might I be able to greasemonkey this?

  I am getting a lot of incoming requests with this structure: //domain_name/cache/22092e9b25c40809dfb94b6179166b26. I am running a .NET 4.0 website served from IIS 7.5. A lot of these URLs have no referrer URLs and come in randomly with a different 32 digit alphanumeric key. And I do not have any resource like '.../cache/...' on my website. I just want to eliminate such requests and want to understand where these are coming from at all. Any help would be appreciated.

• Key Value Observation (ala Cocoa) in GWT ?

  Hi all, There are these 2 frameworks out there in the same "cloud application" space as GWT: Sproutcore and Cappuccino. Cappuccino is Cocoa for the web, Sproutcore is Cocoa-like and one very central idea in both is Key Value Observation where the framework itself provides the glue to change all dependencies of an object when it changes, and you only have to declare those dependencies. If that was too poorly expressed please see this presentation: http://www.infoq.com/presentations/subelsky-sproutcore-intro Since the pattern reduces the amount of code you type it reduces the number of bugs. Maybe it's too much to ask but I would like to have that and all the benefits of Eclipse/compiler that come with GWT. Is there support for this in GWT, or a library already developed?   Given a table that has three columns ID (Primary Key, not-autoincrementing) GroupID SomeValue I am trying to write a single SQL INSERT INTO statement that will make a copy of every row that has one GroupID into a new GroupID. Example beginning table: ID | GroupID | SomeValue ------------------------ 1 | 1 | a 2 | 1 | b Goal after I run a simple INSERT INTO statement: ID | GroupID | SomeValue ------------------------ 1 | 1 | a 2 | 1 | b 3 | 2 | a 4 | 2 | b I thought I could do something like: INSERT INTO MyTable ( [ID] ,[GroupID] ,[SomeValue] ) ( SELECT (SELECT MAX(ID) + 1 FROM MyTable) ,@NewGroupID ,[SomeValue] FROM MyTable WHERE ID = @OriginalGroupID ) This causes a PrimaryKey violation since it will end up reusing the same Max(ID)+1 value multiple times as it seems. Is my only recourse to a bunch of INSERT statements in a T-SQL WHILE statement that has an incrementing Counter value? I also don't have the option of turning the ID into an auto-incrementing Identity column since that would breaking code I don't have source for.

  I have been searching all day and reading many tutorials and still I am confused. I am working on a project that has the following requirements as specified by the client (customer - not to be confused with client app): Connect to a remote server and verify that connection was successful. Connect to Web service on said server via SOAP. Authenticate with service using public key encryption Upon successful authentication, push a list of products and categories to a MSSQL database on remote server via the Web service. The client is a Winforms application written in C#. So far, I have created a WCF Service Application with separate services for the products and categories but I cannot figure the rest out. • Java/Swing: Problem with key listener

  I have a search dialog with a JTextField that's being used as a search box. When the user types something, it searches the DB, shows the result in a JTable and selects the first item in it. If the first result is what they were looking for, I want to let them quickly accept the dialog, by pressing Enter (while the JTextField is focused). So I added a KeyListener to the JTextField and it's working OK. Now the problem: The user opens can open the dialog by pressing Enter when a "Search" button on the dialog's parent frame is focused. The dialog is displayed and the JTextField gets the keyReleased event (from the Enter key that displayed it), so it shows up and closes. If the user holds Enter down, then the JTextField receives the keyPressed, keyTyped and keyReleased events. How can I fix without resorting to ugly workarounds? Platform is Windows 7 x64, btw.   Is there a way to set foreign key relationship using the integer id of a model? This would be for optimization purposes. For example, suppose I have an Employee model: class Employee(models.Model): first_name = models.CharField(max_length=100) last_name = models.CharField(max_length=100) type = models.ForeignKey('EmployeeType') and EmployeeType(models.Model): type = models.CharField(max_length=100) I want the flexibility of having unlimited employee types, but in the deployed application there will likely be only a single type so I'm wondering if there is a way to hardcode the id and set the relationship this way. This way I can avoid a db call to get the EmployeeType object first.

  I receive the following exception when Im trying to alter my @ID in an @Entity. identifier of an instance of com.google.search.pagerank.ItemEntity was altered from 1 to 2. I know that im altering the primary key in my table. Im using JPA-annotations. I solved this by using this single HQL query: update Table set name=:newName where name=:oldName instead of using the more oo approach: beginTransaction(); T e = session.load(...); e.setName(newName); session.saveOrUdate(e); commit(); Any idea what the diff is?
