• Help needed on an SQL configuration problem.

  I have been banging my head with this one more the two weeks, and still don't know what the problem is ( I can't narrow it down). The problem is the following. I have a solution with 3 project in it all written in c# and I with LINQ. One project is the main web site, the other is the data layer (communication with the database) and the third one is a custom little CMS. The problem is the following: On a hosting provider when I publish the site it all works perfectly, but this site was needed to be hosted on the client server so I needed to do that. But the problem is that I also needed to configure the client server, because they don't have an Administrator employed (I know, I know ;) ). For the first time I some how managed, to set it up but a problem appear. My main web site is working just as it suppose to be - it reads (communicates with) the database, but My CMS is not. It shows the first log in page, but after that when I try to log in it throws the following error: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.) So far I have tried the following: -setting time out on connection string to a higher value -configuration and after that turning off server firewall -checking the connection string over and over again (they are the same for all three projects and are saved in web.config) Important notes: I have tried executing the project from VS2008 with a connection string to the same database and the results are the same. That's why I think the problem is the SQL Server 2005 and not the IIS7. Any bit of information is more then welcomed.

• Getting Preferred, Varied Products -- Tough Pseudocode Question

  I have a Dallas client who has given me a tough process to work out. I'm seeking your advice. I use PHP, but the language doesn't matter. We can work this out in pseudocode. In a nutshell, this involves showing products on a page based on matching keyword phrases, and using a preferred product provider, but varying this up so that I try to show products from each provider as much as possible when I can. He has 3 product companies: Amazon, eBay, and Overstock. I already have worked out with the API to get products back in an array via a function. He wants to give the user the preference of which one to use primarily -- so a priority number on each. He wants to display anywhere from 1 to 6 products on a page from them. Let's go with 6 for now in this example to start with. Let's assume Amazon first, then eBay, then Overstock as far as priority. He wants me to attempt to take a keyword phrase and find relevant products (all the keywords found in product title) from Amazon, eBay, and Overstock. If we find 1 product from each provider, he wants me to only display one product from each. But if we run out of a particular provider with a matching product, I start over again and grab another product from another provider until we reach 6 products. If there just aren't 6 relevant products, then I do the best I can -- even if I only display one product. If no relevant products, then I don't display anything.

• Google Maps rendering locally but not in live environment

  I have a page that renders a simple google map for a specified location. This map renders without any problems at all when I run it locally on localhost, however, when I deploy this code to our live web servers (using our LIVE google API key for the appropriate domain) it fails to render, and upon putting a series of alerts within the javascript on the page, it appears that the 'Initialize' method (which should be called within body onLoad) is not being called. When I view the HTML source that is rendered on the live server it appears exactly as per the local version of the site (including the call to initialize() within the body onLoad event), albeit with the different maps API key. I have output the host (alert(window.location.host);) to ensure that the key I generated via the google maps api site, corresponds exactly to the live server, which it does. Does anyone have any ideas why it would be working locally but not when deployed to the live servers? The live site is hosted on 2 load-balanced web servers. • Getting an updated location in Android

  Hi, I'm using the code shown below to get an updated value for location every time a button is clicked. When my activity is resumed I get an update every second, so that when I call getLastKnownLocation I expect to have a location that have been updated in the last second. Is that the correct way to do that? I would expect the onLocationChanged event to be triggered every time I execute a 'geo fix' command (or max after 1s since I request update every 1s), but it's only triggered the first time. Why? Any help/suggestion welcome! • Why does an authorized OAuth request token need to be exchanged for an access token?

  I'm wondering what the reasons are for OAuth to require a round-trip to the data provider to exchange an authorized request token for an access token. My understanding of the OAuth workflow is: Requesting site (consumer) gets a request token from the data provider site (service provider). Requesting site asks the data provider site to authenticate the user, passing in a callback. Once the user has been authenticated and authorized the requesting site, the user is directed back to the requesting site (consumer) via the callback provided which passes back the now-authorized request token and a verification code. The requesting site exchanges the request token for an access token. The requesting site uses the access token to get data from the data provider site. Assuming I got that right, why couldn't the callback simply provide the access token to the requesting site directly in step 3, eliminating step 4? Why is the request to exchange the request token for the access token necessary? Does it exist solely for consumers that require users to enter the verification code manually, with the thought that it would be shorter and simpler than the access token itself?

• Notify a content resolver when normal sql insert or update

  I have created a small content provider (which I only use to query a db table and fetch some value). I have confirmed that the provider works fine. The table values get updated on a regular basis through normal sql insertions(and not through anycontent provider) Whenever an insert/update or delete occurs through a normal sqlite operation as mentioned above, I need to notify the content resolvers which was written to communicate with the content provider just for quering database and fetch some values. Is this, possible? If yes what need to be done? Any help is appreciated.

Well it does work and all, better too, but the images that I put in it flicker. I'm getting a "The network path can't be found" issue when instantiating my model container with a connection string for LocalDB.   I have a pretty great SqlDataReader wrapper in which I can map the output into a strongly typed list. What I am finding now is that on larger datasets with larger numbers of columns, performance could probably be a bit better if I can optimize my mapping. • Juju Zookeeper & Provisioning Agent Not Deployed

  I am using juju with the openstack provider, i expected that when i bootstrap that zookeeper and provisioning agent would get deployed on the bootstrap vm in openstack. This dose not seem to be the case. the bootstrap vm gets deployed but it seems that nothing gets deployed to the VM. See logs below, I may be missing something, also how is it possible to log on the bootstrap vm. Could I manual deploy, if so what do I need to do. • Samba authentication problem when attempting to connect from Windows client

  I've got a Linux server running Ubuntu and Samba. I've created two shares in Samba that point to directories that are owned by the user "cameron". When I attempt to connect to these shares on Windows 7 is connects and allows me to see the files but they are read-only. This is the desired action for guest users but not for authenticated users. My user on the Windows client is "Cameron" and has the same password as the Linux user "cameron". I don't think my Windows user has authenticated against the Linux user. I even created a users.map file to map the user cameron (linux) to Cameron (windows) but still it does not work.   I have a Cisco 1841 configured for VPN connections of two types: Peer-to-peer for partners' routers (IPsec) — using different crypto isakmp key and crypto map with set peer, set transform-set, match address for every peer (same map name, different priorities). That crypto map name is added to the WAN interface. Client access (PPTP) — using vpdn-group with accept-dialin protocol pptp. Now, a new partner wants to connect using vpnc client. The latter needs IPSec ID (group name) and IPSec secret in addition to username and password. I guess that IPSec secret is pre-shared key that can be specified in crypto isakmp key on Cisco. But I could not find any VPN tutorials involving groups. Hence, my questions: How to add IPSec ID (group name) and IPSec secret on Cisco router for vpnc connections? Should I add a new crypto map matching all addresses as well? Is it possible to add this configuration without breaking the existing setup? Thank you.

  I tried this: ffmpeg -i /sdcard/video/transcode/video.avi -map 0:0,0 -i /sdcard/video/transcode/first.mp3 -map 1:0,1 -i /sdcard/video/transcode/second.mp3 -map 2:0,2 -acodec copy -vcodec py /sdcard/video/transcode/Output.avi to add two audio streams to one video file. But ffmpeg says the number of mappings should match the number of output streams. What is wrong here? I'm trying to work with an Android build of FFmepg "ffmpeg for android beta". "Does not work" means that this uncommunicative Android build of FFmpeg just stops without giving any error message. The -codec copy option does not work with this build. Now I tried the same set of files with the FFmpeg called command line tool that comes with Ubuntu 10. Something (can't say where it is from). The -codec copy option does not work with this FFmpeg too. By the way, ffmpeg -i input_with_first_audio_stream.avi -i second.mp3 -acodec copy -vcodec copy output_two_audio_streams.avi -newaudio works with both versions of ffmpeg that I use, but the first audio stream is played too fast (x10 or more), while the second audio stream is played correct. But I am a lamer and it is not so easy for me to compile from the source (especially for the Android version). I will try to compile an up to date version of ffmpeg with Ubuntu, but I don't have much free time.

• Can't access shared drive when connecting over VPN

  I can ping all network devices but it doesn't seem that DNS is resolving their hostnames. ipconfig/ all is showing that I am pointing to the correct dns server. I can "ping "dnsname"" and it will resolve but it wont resolve any other names. Split tunnel is set up so outside DNS is resolving fine So one issue might be DNS but I have the IP address of the server share so I figure I could just get to it that way. example: \10.0.0.1\ well I can't get to it that way either and I get "the specified network name is no longer available" I can ping it but I can't open the share.
