• How Do I Intercept Banner in WordPress?

  My client wants me to make a plugin that intercepts the banner on a WordPress blog so that the existing one displays, but right beneath it, above the content and the sidebar, another banner appears. And he needs it such that it works in most themes and isn't theme-specific. I found I could use add_action('loop_start','interceptMe') to put something at the top before posts or a single post, but it still left the sidebar on the right. I have tried using add_action('all','test') to dump out different intercepts to see if I could figure this out, but I just can't seem to get it yet. I'm thinking I may have to intercept all esc_html calls and contextually inspect that until I find one used for the banner. Does anyone know how to intercept the banner to add another one right beneath it?

• How to add parameters to HttpURLConnection using POST

  I am trying to do POST with HttpURLConnection(I need to use it this way, can't use HttpPost) and I'd like to add parameters to that connection such as post.setEntity(new UrlEncodedFormEntity(nvp)); where nvp = new ArrayList<NameValuePair>(); having some data stored in. I can't find a way how to add this ArrayList to my HttpURLConnection which is here: HttpsURLConnection https = (HttpsURLConnection) url.openConnection(); https.setHostnameVerifier(DO_NOT_VERIFY); http = https; http.setRequestMethod("POST"); http.setDoInput(true); http.setDoOutput(true); the reason for that awkward https and http combination is the need for not verifying the certificate. That is not a problem, though, it posts. But I need it to post with arguments. Any ideas? Thanks a lot!

• Get XAML from WPF Custom RichTextFormat

  I've looked at other posts, but i cant seem to find something that works. I have a custom control WPF RichTextBox and would like to obtain the XAML from this control. I have tried the following //rt is the name of this particular custom richtextbox TextRange range = new TextRange(rt.Document.ContentStart, rt.Document.ContentEnd); MemoryStream stream = new MemoryStream(); range.Save(stream, DataFormats.Xaml); string xamlText = Encoding.UTF8.GetString(stream.ToArray()); return xamlText; but this doesnt seem to work :s I can access the rt.Document.Content start etc but it seems to crash there "Object Reference not set to instance of an object". I am using the richtextbox directly from the .xaml.cs so it should be initiated and so on :s. Any Ideas or other ways to get the XAML from a richtextbox pls? (i'm requiring the XAML cos i actually want to get the HTML.. if theres some other direct manner perhaps?)

• Trying to integrate Jeditable+MarkItUp and Thickbox/Lightbox

  I've managed to successfully integrate MarkItUp with Jeditable based on the instructions on those two sites. What I would really like to do, however, is to have the Jeditable/MarkItUp editing window appear in a Thickbox or Lightbox overlay. So far my attempts to do this have not been successful. So, at the moment, I have the standard code: $.editable.addInputType('markitup', { element : $.editable.types.textarea.element, plugin : function(settings, original) { $('textarea', this).markItUp(settings.markitup); } }); $(".editme").editable("/content/save", { event : 'dblclick', type : 'markitup', submit : 'OK', cancel : 'Cancel', width : 640, height : 'auto', tooltip : 'Double-click to edit...', onblur : 'ignore', markitup : mySettings }); I've found other posts here that show how to trigger the edit box by clicking on a link rather than the object itself, and I've tried integrating that with the Thickbox calls, to no avail. • WPF Localization Using LocBaml: Handling Special Symbols

  Hello, I’m dealing with localization of a WPF application (Visual Studio 2010 under Windows 7). I’ve just accomplished the whole process of localization using LocBaml tool, as explained in WPF Globalization and Localization Overview and in related posts. The target language is Italian (it-IT culture). When I run my application in Italian, I have a problem with interpretation of the special symbols of © and ™: they both appear there as a white question sign upon a black diamond-shaped background. The symbols © and ™ appear identically in both English and Italian CSV-files. I tried also the special letters (such as È, à etc.) that are present in Italian but absent in English, and they also are interpreted as the above diamond-shaped question. In Region and Language, I changed the system locale to Italian[Italy], restarted the PC and ran the application again – this helped me in the past to cope with a similar problem in localization of C++ applications under Windows XP, but now it didn’t help, either. Has somebody any idea what is the catch here?

• SQL Azure and VS 2010B2 or SSMSE 2008

  Ok, I see that people have asked this question before, but I'm seeing some conflicting statements. Can I, or can I not, connect directly to my SQL Azure database from SSMSE 2008? I see posts from before November that the SSMS 2008 RC would be able to connect directly - so I don't understand why the newest SSMSE cannot connect. Is it just a problem with the Express version of SSMS? Where can I find the "non-Express" version, if there is one? I can connect to the database via the cancel and connect method - however, you don't get object explorer that way. I see that there are add-ons for VS.Net to allow you to explore the database but I wanted to do it with the base apps if possible. Thanks

• How to display multiple cell entries individually from a MySQL database and using PHP

  I have a column called post_tags where there is sometimes one tag entry and sometimes multiple tags stored. These are separated by * symbols. I want to display these out to the screen one by one. If there were just one item inside the cell I would have used: $query = mysql_query("SELECT post_tags FROM posts WHERE id=$id"); while ($result = mysql_fetch_assoc($query)) { $result['post_tags']; } But how can I display each entry individually when there are multiple ones in one cell (is this what the explode function is for)?

• Look of the app - Py2exe / wxPython

  So my problem is the look and feel from my application, as it looks like an old look app. It is an wxPython application, and on python it runs fine and looks fine, but when I convert it to .exe using py2exe, the look is just bad. Now I know that if you are using XP you need some manifest to correct it but I am in other circumstances. I'm using Windows 7, and I'm using Python 2.6 (Yes, I am including the DLL's and the Microsoft.VC90.CRT.manifest). So my question is how can I solve this under these circumstances? NOTE: I tried to search on google, but the posts I found were rather old with people using XP and older python versions so I assumed it would be different? • WCF method called twice

  Hi, I have a web service which is returning data to the desktop application. The problem I am having is, when the web service returns small volume of data everything works fine but when the volume of data is large it throws the following exception: System.Net.WebException: The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a receive. And when I am debugging the web service, I see that this particular method is called twice. It executes the return statement 1st time nothing happens, but when it does execute it for the second time the above mentioned exception is thrown in the desktop app. I found similar posts before on stackoverflow but they did not solve my problem. Can anybody please tell me what's going on in here? Thanks!

  Wordpress provides a function called "the_permalink()" that returns, you guessed it!, the permalink to a given post while in a loop of posts. • Hide script extension

  I have a html form that posts to a python script test.py. If someone tries to access the script directly, it redirects them to the form. I not using a web framework, just straight python cgi programming. My website is hosted on a shared hosting provider that allows me access to a .htaccess file. I wanted to know if there was a way to have the form post to the script and in the address bar show mydomain.com/test/ and not mydomain.com/test.py ? Thanks.

What wrong with my payload? The response is get is: ["Name can't be blank","Workspace can't be blank"] which leads me to conclude that the authentication works but toggl cannot read my json object.

• How to benchmark apache/nginx setup

  I am planning to setup nginx as reverse proxy. I will have apache to deliver my dynamic content, and nginx will deliver the static content. My configuration i have now is just Apache with fastCGI. This gives me no configuration problems and runs great. After I have set up nginx I want to run some benchmarks to see if I really got some performance increases, else i will switch back. Does anyone know how I can benchmark this type of setup? Or maybe someone did this already and have some canned results, I will be glad to hear them. PS. I know this is more a serverfault type of question, but i have seen numerous posts about apache and nginx so i thought i give it a try

• ASP.NET AJAX postback and jQuery

  I have a Textbox, a LinkButton and a RadioButtonList inside an UpdatePanel. When the button is clicked, the UpdatePanel shows matching items in the radiobuttonlist. This works fine, but I now need to make the same happen OnKeyDown on the TextBox. I'm trying to cancel all AJAX requests in progress but not having much luck. Firstly, on every keypress the UpdatePanel posts back, so only one letter can be changed at a time. Secondly, the textbox loses focus on postback. I need to show the list as normal, but OnKeyDown as well as when the button is pressed. I managed to find a version alongside jQuery 1.3.2 but it does not work. What is the forward going solution!?

• Cross domain cookie tracking

  Hi, The company I work for has four domains and I'm trying to set up the cookies, so one cookie can be generated and tracked across all the domains. From reading various posts on here I thought it was possible. I've set up a sub domain on one site, to serve a cookie and 1*1 pixel image to all four sites. But I can't get this working on the other sites. If anyone can clarify that: Its possible? If I'm missing something obvious or a link to a good example? I'm trying to do this server side with PHP. • Thumbnails from HTML pages created and used automatically in web application

  I am working on a Ruby on Rails app that visualizes product trees. The tree is built of nodes an everything is rendered in HTML/CSS3. Some of the products make several hundred SQL queries as the tree builds up (up to 800 queries on the biggest tree). I'd like to have small thumbnails of each tree to present it on an index page. So rendering each tree once again and modifying CSS to make a tiny representation is an option. But i think it's probably easier to generate thumbnails, crop, cache, and show these on the index page. Any ideas on how to do this? Any links/articles/blog posts that could help me?

  I have a requirement in my project to create dynamic email address on the fly. For example, similar to flickr has the option of uploading photos (or blogger.com has an option of rececing blog posts in predefined email addresses). The email address can be like "[email protected]", once this email address is created what ever the incoming mails will be processed based on certain scenarios. My questions are: What are the solutions available for having our own IMAP/POP3 Server in Windows? Exchange is not an option though, any commercial softwares will do. Is there any way we can have one real email box and that will be masked with alphanumeric email addresss to minimize the creation of email addresses.

  In the past I have primarily built all my web applications using an N-tier architecture, implementing the BLL and DAL layers. Recently, I have started doing some RoR development as well as looking into ASP.NET MVC. I understand the differences between the different architectures(as referenced by some other SO posts), but I can't really think of any reasons why I wouldn't choose an MVC model going forward. Is there any reasons/times in your experience when an MVC architecture would not be suitable, or any reasons why you would choose a BLL/DAL architecture instead?

  Ok I am trying to get the users First Name the form gets their name perfectly fine and posts it into a variable. Now I am trying to do error checking else if(!preg_match("/^[\w-]+$/", $firstNameSignup)) { $firstNameSignupError = "Your first name cannot contain numbers or symbols, you entered " . $firstNameSignup; $firstNameSignup = ""; } I tried the above code and it does not like me but my if statement if(!isset($firstNameSignup) || $firstNameSignup == "") { $firstNameSignupError = "You must enter your first name"; } works fine so I know that the error is in that else if statement... most likely in my regular expression any help??? • ASP.NET MVC: Is it "wrong" to use HTTP 500 via an AJAX request to return invalid form content?

  Here's the situation: I've got two partial views. One has a form. What needs to happen is when the form is posted via an AJAX request, if the operation succeeds, the area with the second partial is repopulated with the content. However, if the posted data was invalid, the original partial is repopulated with an error message. I'm using jQuery and the ajaxForm plugin to handle the form posts and responses. Would it be "wrong"/bad coding/wtf-worthy to conditionally use $.html() to replace the content in one area when it's a 200, and a different area if it's a 500? To me, this idea smells, but I'm not sure how else to accomplish the goal.

My website's URL contains website language and when someone comments on example.com/en/page.html it is not visible for user who is viewing the same page in French example.com/fr/page.html I want to display all comments done on the page in different languages (different URLs in this case).
