  • Is there a way to remove duplicate emails from a remote account?

    I have a user who has multiple duplicated emails across multiple folders on his IMAP account. How he managed to create them is beyond me, but mine is not to reason why, just to fix it! Can anyone recommend an application that I may use to remove the duplicates. (we're talking mailboxes in excess of 9G, and it's a remote server) I don't mind what OS I have to use to clean up the mailbox, I'm just looking for some recommendations. Thanks

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 DFS Root Namespace Required?

    I would prefer to set up our DFS such as: \domain.local\users \domain.local\customers \domain.local\support etc. Is this a problem? Do I need to instead set all of the above folders as targets under a root such as: \domain.local\files\users \domain.local\files\customers \domain.local\files\support Other than the path being shorter in the top example, which is what I would prefer, is there a difference in functionality in Windows DFS between the two examples shown?   • Keeping folder display the same as it was left

    In Word 2007 (and also on previous versions I have used), when I open folders, they open with icons or a list. I like 'detail' display and change it to that. I like detail because I can see which file is most recent and the size. But the next time I open the same folder, it opens back to icons or list but not details. How can I get it to stay where I left it? Thanks.

    I use rsync to mirror a number of folders on our failover server. However, some of our files, such as thumbnails or full-text indexes, are generated by our applications under the web user (named 'nobody'), and default to restrictive permissions. Also, I'm doing this over ssh, where root access is disabled, and I'd like to keep it that way, if possible. Is there any reasonable way I can tell rsync to run as sudo? Or should I look into changing the file permissions? Thanks

    Unfortunately I can't really give much more information unless anybody can suggest where I should look for logs or dumps etc? Simply put, when I load the program I immediately get the error "Pinta Has Stopped Working". I have tried: Running as administrator Installing to different partitions Installing to folders with no spaces in directory structure I have installed the GTK# for .Net 2.12.9 as required in order to install Pinta.   • Permissions changed after Mail.app and associated data crash

    Hi there, I experienced a major Mail.app crash on Snow Leopard couple of days ago. It took me hours to be able to make the folder structure usable again by Mail. I changed permissions back to 755 for all subfolders starting from and including ~/Library/Mail Mail now works again but settings such as folder order in the left side bar and mail ordered by date in some folders don't persist anymore. Any idea? Thxs for help

    So originally my host (mediatemple dv) has two default directories for the roots: 1)httpdocs/ 2)httpsdocs/ In the conf directory I changed the vhosts.conf and httpd.include and others to change from httpdocs to custom folders. Now I installed a new ssl certificate and https://example.com goes to the default page located at httpsdocs. I'm just wondering where configurations for apache are stored for ssl. Ideas?

    I know in TextMate I can go to preferences - advanced - folder references and play with the regex pattern to remove certain types of files and folders by default. I heard that if you have an existing project, however, and chance these, the project is not affected. From a similar but different angle, I am interested to know if I can exclude certain types of files, say anything named "index.html" from an existing project while not changing the global scope.   • Start menu entries suddenly missing

    I am using Windows 7 x64 SP1 with all updates applied. During the last weeks I observed that some start menu entries / folders suddenly disappeared. Those programs then sometimes can be found using the search function of the start menu, then however they are labeled by the name of their executable (like photoshop instead of Adobe Photoshop). Does anyone know where to start looking for errors? Does the start menu has anything to do with windows search? I doubt it?

    My friends Windows 7 x64 system is not displaying the sub-folders of libraries tab in windows explorer pane. See below: Whenever he or I click on the arrow next to the tab it opens nothing and clicking on the folder show what you see above. However if I click on the documents tab from the start menu, it brings up the documents folder. The Libraries tab on the left pane doesn't work though from that either. Any ideas?

    Is there a way to set windows 2008 file and folder sharing permission so you only get prompted for a password on certain shares? That is, right now, when I got to \theserver\ I get prompted for a password despite having some shared folders that permit anonymous access. Is there a way, asides from setting the policy sharing model to guest rather than Classic to allow a user from a non-domain pc to go to \theserver\ and see the shares and permit him or her to enter a folder with anonymous access without having to enter a username or password?

    We have a Small Business Server 2003 domain controller with Windows 7 workstations joined to the domain. I noticed recently that, if I make a user a local administrator on his computer, his redirected desktop and mapped network drives do not connect at login (error on login that network drives inaccessible and desktop is blank). However, it is still possible for this user to browse to his home directory where his redirected folders are located- so he still has access to that location. Does anyone have any theories as to what is going on here?

    I have 2 folders: /home/sphinx/articlesdb/ and: /home/sphinx/tmp/articlesdb/ I want to move and overwrite all of the files from tmp into the main folder. I am currently using: mv -f /home/sphinx/tmp/articlesdb/ /home/sphinx/ But I get this error: mv: cannot move `/home/sphinx/tmp/articlesdb/' to a subdirectory of itself, `/home/sphinx/articlesdb' It needs to do this as fast as possible so I don't want to copy. Should I remove /home/sphinx/articlesdb/ completely and then run the mv command or do I just need to tweak the command slightly?
