    I have a website I recently converted from website to web application Project . When I compile It compiles Successfuly but when I run the code I get this error Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'DApplause.Logon'.     I have searched StackOverflow (and other sources) for this answer, but can't seem to find anything. In C#, if I had a widget definition, say: class widget { public string PrettyName() { ... do stuff here } } and I wanted to allow for easy printing of a list of Widgets, I might do this: namespace ExtensionMethods { public static PrintAll( this IEnumerable<Widget> widgets, TextWriter writer ) { foreach(var w in widgets) { writer.WriteLine( w.PrettyName() ) } } } How would I accomplish something similar with a record type and a collection (List or Seq preferrably in F#). I'd love to have a list of Widgest and be able to call a function right on the collection that did something like this. Assume (since it's F#) that the function would not be changing the state of the collection that it's attached to, but returning some new value.

  • .NET and XML: How can I read nested namespaces (<abc:xyz:name attr="value"/>)?

    Suppose there is an element in XML data: <abc:xyz:name attr="value"/> I'm trying to read it with XmlReader. The problem is that I get XmlException that says The ‘:’ character, hexadecimal value 0x3A, cannot be included in a name I have already declared "abc" namespace. I have also tried adding "abc:xyz" and "xyz" namespaces. But this doesn't help at all. I could replace some text before parsing but there may be some more elegant solution. So what should I do?   • Internet and Intellisense bad for your memory?

    Having programmed for a while now I have noticed that I am becoming more and more reliant on the internet and intellisense to do my job. But I was wondering how much that has effected my knowledge over the past year or so. But does this matter? For example I am more likely now to remember that when I need to program against objects I have no knowledge about, I will go to the System.Reflection namespace and a quick look down the list will provide me with enough detail to get going again. But if you was to ask me which classes etc are required I would struggle to name them all. This problem of remembering seems to manifest itself more when going for interviews when people seem to focus more on the minute detail of obscure areas of the .NET framework and not on the wide and varied knowledge and experience of the applicant. Anyway I digress. Does anyone else think that maybe its time to turn of the intellisense and try and find better ways to learn, then quick fixes and work arounds of the internet?

    Hi everybody. I already read that there is no possibility to run GSON in GWT client code, but that it is possible to run it in server code. The latter one is which I'm trying to achive, but not getting to work. I thought any class within the com.whatever.server package has access to the whole JRE namespace including reflection. It seems that that is not the point. So how managed all those developers to use GSON in GWT server code? (I'm new to GWT, so the answer may be really easy.) Thanks.

  • Sqlalchemy layout with WSGI application

    I'm working on writing a small WSGI application using Bottle and SqlAlchemy and am confused on how the "layout" of my application should be in terms of SqlAlchemy. My confusion is with creating engines and sessions. My understanding is that I should only create one engine with the 'create_engine' method. Should I be creating an engine instance in the global namespace in some sort of singleton pattern and creating sessions based off of it? How have you done this in your projects? Any insight would be appreciated. The examples in the documentation dont seem to make this entirely clear (unless I'm missing something obvious). Any thoughts?

  • Finding changes in MongoDB database

    I'm designing a MongoDB database that works with a script that periodically polls a resource and gets back a response which is stored in the database. Right now my database has one collection with four fields , id, name, timestamp and data. I need to be able to find out which names had changes in the data field between script runs, and which did not. In pseudocode, if(data[name][timestamp]==data[name][timestamp+1]) //data has not changed store data in collection 1 else //data has changed between script runs for this name store data in collection 2 Is there a query that can do this without iterating and running javascript over each item in the collection? There are millions of documents, so this would be pretty slow. Should I create a new collection named timestamp for every time the script runs? Would that make it faster/more organized? Is there a better schema that could be used? The script runs once a day so I won't run into a namespace limitation any time soon.

    I have an existing Android project with the following structure: - ProjectName -- AndroidManifest.xml -- local.properties -- project.properties -- assets -- libs (containing all jars) -- modules (containing all library projects my project depends on) -- res -- src ---- com/namespace/projectname (all my classes including main activity are here) I haven't been using any specific build system to build my project other than the one provided by default with the Android Studio IDE (though the project was originally created with IntelliJ CE. I would like to use Gradle with the android plugin and do some work on my build process. I have tried several configurations in order to achieve this and have failed to complete a successful build every time. What's the recommended approach in this scenario? should I change my project structure? or is it possible to configure gradle using the existing structure? Any help would be greatly appreciated.     I'm trying to add little icons to my tabs in WPF but having trouble with how to set up the binding. <TabItem.Header> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <Image Source="{Binding Source=prop:Resources.eye}" /> <Label VerticalAlignment="Center">Header</Label> </StackPanel> </TabItem.Header> The xmlns:prop is set up for the local project's Properties, I am pulling other values from it elsewhere so I know that the namespace works. The markup above compiles fine BUT I don't see the eye image in the tab. Also, is there any way to set this up into a template? I'm fairly new to XAML/WPF and each tab will have its own image...
